The stuff, the location and being superclean.
The price is highly overrated but I guess all Bristol hotels are.
Great location for Clifton, and an easy walk into Bristol centre too. There is a good secure carpark, although this costs extra. The staff all seemed good, breakfast was fine and the coffee service especially good. Price was good for the area.
Décor was generally very tired, especially in my single room. The bathroom could have been cleaner and the grouting between the tiles, taps etc especially needed attention. There was no plug for my sink. It is a bit of a rabbit warren, with lots of stairs up and down, not a problem for me but would be for elderly or disabled guests. They charged me the full parking rate even though I only had a motorcycle which did not occupy a car space.
They do a great breakfast.
It could be quite noisy and the shower didn’t work properly.
The room had lots of damp patches all over the ceiling and the room smelt damp. Very poor.
Friendly staff, clean room with good facilities. Comfortable bed and quiet surroundings meant I had a good night’s sleep.
Lock on shared bathroom door was broken so had to resort to the old tactic of whistling while using the loo. Cooked breakfast was okay, a bit bland but edible.
