Pros: The onsen, dinner & breakfast.

Cons: we had a couple of big spiders in our room.
Pros: Location, staff
Cons: Seemed slightly expensive given the simplicity of the food and lack of a view from the room.
Pros: Fabulous food
Pros: Very traditional, great experience staff were very kind the food was amazing. Nice quiet onsen.
Pros: This is a beautiful place to stay. The hosts are truly wonderful and the meals were amazing. Thank you!!!!

With a stay at Hotel & Resorts BEPPUWAN in Hiji, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Hells of Beppu and Takegawara Onsen. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Event facilities at this hotel consist of a conference center and meeting rooms. A train station pick-up service is provided at no charge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Spacious room! Onsen below! Swimming pool!
Cons: Nothing! Maybe limited parking slot in front of hotel but there are more at level 2
Pros: Good size room and excellent restaurant on site
Cons: A bit too far out of town
Pros: The view
Cons: The property was old and in not a good condition. The room was smell. The breakfast room was aged, crowded, and limited variaty of food. The lift and check out counter were jam.
Pros: Clean hotel in a good location. Breakfast was good. Hot springs experience was very relaxing and authentic Japanese style rooms were more comfortable than initially imagined. A nice short stroll to the nearest railway station made transport to and from Beppu/Oita simple enough. The staff were very helpful, polite and provided a lot of local information. For instance, a simple phone call from Beppu station and the staff organised the shuttle bus to collect us from the nearby local station.
Cons: Despite the large amount of western tourists, due to the rugby world cup, the hotel had failed to recognise that the outdoor swimming pool would have been a great attraction but instead they went ahead with the regular closure for Winter program. A lot more pool side business could have been conducted otherwise, the outside temperature was still hot. Also, the shuttle buses were only geared around check-in and check-out times and could have been more expansive to cater for the large amount of tourists there. It had the feel of a business hotel that was struggling to cater for tourists.
Pros: Bedroom is very nice.
Cons: Location and timing of shuttle bus.
Pros: Huge comfortable room with Awesome view The onsen is quite good. Have both indoor and outdoor bath. At certain points in time i can even have the whole bath to yourself. Staff is friendly and speaks fluently. Check-in is very fast Plenty of carpark lots Lots of facilities besides the onsen
Cons: Wifi is weak Suspect to have dust or dust mites in the room because of allergic reaction. Was quite surprised because the room is pretty clean.
Pros: Great views on both sides. Good room size and bathroom. Lower level restaurant friendly and had quite good food at reasonable prices.
Cons: Main restaurant needed reservations in advance which wasn't clear before arrival. Hotel allows smoking in many areas. Large open lobby but groups smoking on breaks from meeting rooms on 2F balcony, so very smoky and smelly inside in 1F areas. Nice lobby cafe, but difficult to enjoy coffee or cake there.

Pros: Beautiful people give an incredible twist to everything. Thanks a lot to our hosts and their warm welcome! In a practical sense, the house is a typical Japanese old house, with indoor bath, tatami, zabuton etc. The place is quiet, in a nice street, at walking distance from restaurants and well situated in Usa. By car, it’s 5/10 minutes from Usa-jingu. The other main points of the area are easily reachable by car. You can also hike : beautiful sceneries and nice onsen not too far. If you don’t have a car, there are guided tours offered by the hosts. Really practical and the offer is really interesting (Japanese everyday life, nature, temples, Showa-era quarter, etc.). The family hosts are genuine, talkative, really helpful : great people...
Pros: I like the Japanese style house with the tatami, kotatsu and hot bath etc. To top it off, Aki San & Mika San were great hosts. They were very helpful and friendly. Mika San is also a great cook, the breakfast she prepared was delicious.
Cons: Absolutely nothing
Pros: The hosts were very generous. They upgraded us to a nicer room free of charge, and sent us off with a nourishing tasty sandwich each because we had a long bike. The building is a beautiful classic 70 year old japanese building. Very nice!
Pros: Very nice old house, with wonderfulll hosts. A traditional cosy and very clean room. Mika and Aki hospitality was wonderfulll. We got a lot of info from them, had a very interesting talk with Aki, and as we are vegetarian, Mika prepared a very dellicios diner for us. Thanks Mika and Aki for your hospitality.
Pros: Everything was perfect. Excellent breakfast. Very nice traditional house, fantastic owners. We felt like at home. Thanks a lot for everything Aki, Mika and Kazuky! Hope to see you soon:-)) @par4cheminsàbicyclettes
Pros: The connection with a wonderful Japanese family who went above and beyond to make you feel comfortable
Cons: Towels only available at an extra cost.
Pros: The hosts Aki and Mika are exceptionally friendly and very helpful with arranging itineraries. Their perfect English is a huge help. Ask them about their own travel adventures, and you’ll hear some very interesting stories. Nothing was too much trouble, and we really felt at home at Naru guesthouse. Their son Kazuki is clearly a budding hotelier, and is super keen to help out and mingle with the guests. We recommend having the breakfast, as Mika is a great chef!
Pros: We loved literally everything. The owners are so nice and sweet, they speak a very good english and they make you feel like you're at home. Try breakfast since is very good, and do try the shabushabu restaurant they suggest nearby, it is amazing. Parking is easy in a big lot nearby.
Pros: Nice and friendly hosts. Aki and his wife, Mika were very helpful. They guided us to nice restaurant and gave some touristic information.
