Posada de la plata - Cáceres - Bedroom
1
9.6 Excellent (253 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Caceres, Posada de la Plata is within a 15-minute drive of Gran Teatro de Cáceres and Casa Pedrilla History and Culture Museum.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfort, cleanliness, superb bathroom, good blinds on the window to keep out the sun, good air con, nice clean new pleasing decor. Small quiet Spanish village, very nice owner. a large iced bottle of mineral water greeted us on arrival, which was very welcome. welcome. Plenty of easy parking right outside. It is difficult to understand how to get in - just ring the bell of the house number in the address and the owner will come out and take you to your room which is a separate but adjoining annex.
Cons: Nothing. This is a great place, there is nothing whatsoever to complain about. One thing that would improve it would be a small electric kettle and a couple of mugs with a small amount of tea, coffee, sugar and milk provided. But, I know that isn’t the norm in the region and I wouldn’t expect it (we took our own). It would be the icing on the cake though.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Super clean, quiet, well decorated and confortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were running very late with our arriving but had a very warm welcome (we were on the Camino, the last Albergue was full and we arrived after 50km of walking).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to motorway exit but quiet. Purpose built/renovated accommodation. Quaint hamlet, 3 bars/cafes but not much else. Restaurant close by.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very calm and quiet place in a small town 14 km from Caceres. The booking says no parking, but in fact you can park your car on the street right in front of the entrance (I think the streets are always half empty). The facilities are sparkling clean and new. The owner is nice man.
Cons: No restaurants or markets were open in the town, so you need to drive to Caceres. The floor is cold in November.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Just a few minutes from Caceres centre by car (15' without traffic). Certanly a great option for a family in order to don't pay the elevated prices in Caceres Centre. Very quiet zone, also kids could play outside. The room is really new and comfortable but the best thing is the owners great hospitatlity.
Cons: Valdesalor (the town) hasn't a lot of services so car is absolutely necessary.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Wi-fi did not work
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, calm place and very close to the city center

Atrio Restaurante Hotel - Cáceres - Bedroom

9.4 Excellent (310 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at Atrio Restaurante Hotel places you in the heart of Caceres, steps from Casa del Aguila and Casa del Sol. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and laundry facilities.
6.7 Good
Pros: The location is perfect within the old town.
Cons: The hotel itself is very modern and doesn't not represent the old Spainish town area that you are in. (outside yes, inside not) Its very modern, no atmosphere (thats our opinion). The restaurant (Michelin **) serves very nice food , great wine collection in the cellar but 3 average wines on the list where not available in the offered year. (according to the wine waiter that was obvious because they sell them a lot.....(?!) ) The restaurant design reminded us of a crematorium with all its vertical shapes and a rectangular bouguet of white flower on the table). Food was outstanding.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely first class -- a splurge but worth it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Stunning hotel where every detail was perfect. Located right in the heart of the old town. Faultless.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing hotel and Dinner!
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Drove to hotel, very difficult to find. Ended up parking 3-400 metres away and concierge collected and took to off site parking. Great room. 350 page wine list, 2 Michelin star restaurant. Tasting menu only but excellent. My only minor gripe is no complimentary H2O in room and at these prices seems unreasonable not to have a bottle of water each in the room and have 4/5 euros added to bill. Bit stingy of R&C IMO. Otherwise great experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Immaculate in every way. Attention to detail impeccable.
Cons: Nothing at all!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Modern in a historical site. Every detail was done with taste and thought. Restaurant two Michelin Stars got a table with out a reservation for been a guests.
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here with our little dog and whilst this is a high end hotel the staff could not have been more welcoming to her. The restaurant absolutely deserves its two Michelin stars and the wine cellar is immense. We had the pork tasting menu and the wine pairing and enjoyed every second. The service is excellent but not formal and made for a relaxed atmosphere and restaurant ambiance . Would absolutely recommend
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely everything. The attention to detail is superb. The staff is exceptional and just adds to an already fantastic experience. One of my best hotel stays ever. The restaurant quality, service, staff and setting is the best i have ever experienced. This is a MUST for every traveller.
Cons: The fact that we only stayed one night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The genuinely warm and kind nature of the staff, the design and architecture, the artworks, the food, the location... Really it was one of my best hotel experiences in recent memory.
Cons: Nothing... This hotel is amazing!

4.2 Okay
Cons: These rooms are literally caves - the room we stayed in which was apparently an upgrade only had a tiny window in the ceiling and felt very clammy. The first room they took us to smelled of cigarettes. It was not a nice stay - I would not stay again and I’m not sure how this hotel got a 9+ on booking.com - very misleading

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very friendly and helpful staff
Cons: For older clients such as ourselves a bit more light on the stairs and the bedroom would be helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel can not be better just off the Plaza Mayor. The hotel is decorated with wonderful splashes of colors and has architectural details that are fun and enhance the building. The bathroom in my room was small but the shower with the 6 wall shower jets plus with a rain and hand held shower heads provided a comfortable way to get clean and relax after walking and exploring the sites of Caceres.
Cons: The only thing that could be better was the wifi since as an old building with thick walls the signals faded and dropped but if you found the right spot were fine. The management is aware and trying to figure out fixes for the problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautifully decorated. The owners very kind and helpful.

Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely building in excellent position for seeing old town. Very good room, lots of space. Happy dog. Fantastic food in restaurant. Lovely dining area outside. Nice staff
Cons: Nightmare to find by car. Need to give good directions. We got there eventually because a kind passerby got in the car and took us. Better signage needed e.g. to eating areas. Also although hotel name is up on the wall on first floor, we didn’t see it at first, as the reception area is on the ground floor which is by the restaurant with a different name. We used the public car park with a discount which is good, but again a bit too far if you have luggage and daunting to drive from it to the hotel to pick up luggage at the end. We wanted to breakfast in the hotel but although we were told breakfast would be available at 8 nobody turned up on either day and we went into town instead. It’s a shame as the restaurant was so good.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: The mattresses were a bit too soft

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is conveniently positioned just off the main route through Spain to Portugal It is superbly equipped with courteous and professional Staff. Sadly our stay was all too short
Cons: Nothing to dislike at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is situated very close to the motorway but far enough away not to be affected by any noise. It is a mix of old and new with spacious rooms and bathroom. We had a dog with us which the hotel provided for. We were only there as a stop over on the way back to the UK so dd not use the Spa or pool. The restaurant is spacious and the food was excellent. The breakfast was also extremely good with much to choose from. We paid a bit more than usual for a one night stop but is was worth every penny. We walked the dog around the hotel grounds which are very well maintained and perfect for a ten minute stroll.
Cons: Signage pointing out to drive to the turning circle in front of the hotel could be improved, we parked in the enormous car park but then had to carry bags and dog stuff up two flights of steps. Had we realised we could drive to the main entrance it would have saved the effort. However, I am struggling to find a negative when it was not really a big problem at all.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Even though I only stayed for a night in this hostel I really enjoyed it. The staff was so friendly and helpful and I felt really comfortable and welcomed. Thank you!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: One of the owner waited for me at the property, even though I arrived later than originally planed. The kitchen is very large with plenty of room and has everything you need. The location is quite close to the medieval town, around 5 minutes walking. Good value for money.
Cons: There were no towels provided. I couldn't use the coffee machine in the morning, but maybe it was my fault. Other than that, everything was nice, and the place is a good option for solo travellers.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice facility. Outside of Plaza Mayor but very quiet. Pretty outdoor patio. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed set up in the rooms was very nice. I definitely recommend this albergue.
Cons: Every thing was fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean comfortable hostel. Very central location within a couple of minutes of main square.
Cons: There should be a ladder for each bunk, so you don't have to depend on someone to pass you the ladder.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, quiet, clean and comfortable
Cons: Finding somewhere to park
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, the rustic charm, cleanliness, comfort. The owner also let me check in early in the morning after I arrived Caceres via my overnight bus. So nice of him!
Cons: This is not a problem for me, but maybe for some: The owner doesn't speak English, so make sure you have Google Translate if you don't speak Spanish.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice living room with tables and sofas, perfect for the ones who need to do some stuff with their laptops (like me). Receptionists very kind and helpful, fast replies on Whatsapp. Breakfast is ok: coffee, bread, jam, butter, snacks, fruit, olive oil & tomato sauce (spanish breakfast). The 6-bed room was ok with a balcony and comfortable beds. Lockers should be added.
Cons: The internet connection at the ground floor is very slow. Lockers must be installed
4.6 Okay
Cons: The hopelessly rude, unfriendly, and impatient staff member at check-in outweighs all other considerations.

Pros: Pool was good
Cons: Bar staff bored Noise from adjoining building site
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Whole experience. Particularly the secure parking and access directly to the rooms from the garage. Staff great, good breakfast, rooms spacious and bathrooms impressive. It was a shame our ferry was late and had a reduced speed due to operational issues by about 7 hours as we would have liked to use the hotels facilities on the day of our arrival such as the pool. Our early departure sadly meant we didn’t have time on the day we were checking out. Having stayed at the Barcelo in Caceres many times, this hotel knocks it into a cocked hat for price and facilities for me and it’s closer to the centre.
Cons: Nothing. I found the hotel and it’s staff flawless: well perhaps the building site view from our room, but that’s not the hotels fault.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything- secure parking and location. Staff all polite and happy
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were nice and price was very reasonable.
Cons: The beds were not very comfortable. The hotel Parking charges was expensive.

Pros: Nice balcony and a very big room with a space to sit. The balcony was wonderful, although could have done with an umbrella but watching the sunset was lovely. Modern and comfortable, right in the centre. Also, the staff parked my car for me as which was VERY appreciated.

7.6 Good
Pros: Location for old town, Secure parking for motorcycles, good size rooms.
7.0 Good
Pros: We stayed at the AH Agora during a trip to see the ancient town of Caceres. The hotel is modern and in an excellent location between the modern new town and the old town. Staff were friendly and helpful and even parked and retrieved our car from the underground car-park (pay-parking). Breakfast was good. We didn't take any other meals in the hotel; lots of restaurants in the nearby Plaza Mayor.
Cons: A couple of English language TV news channels would be a bonus.
6.0 Good
Pros: tidy, good service, large room. rooms nothing special - not bad but not amazing. average / acceptable for money.appears to have facilities for wheelchair which is very uncommon in southern spain. great town though.
5.2 Okay
Pros: Close to old town

Cons: walls between rooms are not soundproof (at all)
6.4 Good
Pros:
Cons: The coffee served at breakfast was disgusting
6.0 Good
Pros: It has a modern, spacious design and our room was large and comfortable. Location is good for the center of town and the more scenic parts are five minutes' walk away. There's a magnificent view of the town and surrounding countryside from the roof terrace.
Cons: The hotel is on a narrow, shabby back street that's used as a high-speed short cut and whose pavements are intermittently blocked by scaffolding; but this will be temporary, as the neighborhood is clearly being renovated.
7.2 Good
Pros: Location and cleanleness
Cons: Bar closed before 11PM

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Castilla in Caceres (Caceres Old Town), you'll be steps from Tower of Bujaco and Plaza Mayor. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and an elevator.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is exceptionally convenient and located on a quiet street. It is literally minutes from the main plaza and a good number of restaurants.
Cons: A mini-bar in the room would have been great; also an extra trash can in the bedroom would have been convenient. Trash cans should be lined with plastic bags.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was great as it was a very short walk to the town's central plaza.
Cons: It was a little difficult to find as it is accessed through narrow streets.
7.9 Good
Pros: The wifi was only working a few hours per day or night; it was unpredictable. The manager was able to load a youtube movie onto his cellphone at the front desk and announced that the wifi was fine. He said many guests use older phones and somehow contaminate the signal. We finally went to another hotel after our 2 day stay at La Castilla, due to the inability of their wifi to allow us to work.
Cons: The wifi was only working a few hours per day or night; it was unpredictable. The manager was able to load a youtube movie onto his cellphone at the front desk and announced that the wifi was fine. He said many guests use older phones and somehow contaminate the signal. We finally went to another hotel after our 2 day stay at La Castilla, due to the inability of their wifi to allow us to work.
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff was friendly. Bed was firm.
Cons: The hotel was almost imposssible to find. GPS is inaccurate.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location perfect for Plaza Mayor. Bed was comfortable. TV was not working properly and was replaced immediately. I had booked another hotel but got the date wrong and found Hotel Castilla while in the other hotel's reception area. Got this one booked immediately and arrived there ten minutes later. All was fine. Bedroom smallish but comfortable enough and so clean.
Cons: Breakfast very limited.
7.9 Good
Pros: The guy at check-in and the lady at check-out were very nice people. The guy was very good to read our request and try give us a room that we requested. However, we preferred the original room that he gave us, so we stayed put. The room was a nice size and had a comfortable bed with a firm mattress on it. The room and the whole place was very clean. The property is only a minute walk from the main square of the city. There is a lift in the property for those of lesser mobility, such as old-age pensioners,
Cons: Unfortunately, there was a horrible whiff of smoke throughout the morning coming into our room. It was overwhelming. I couldn't figure out where it was coming from, but it was disgusting and was coming from within the hotel. The pillows on the bed are also very flimsy, as seems to be the case in all Spanish hotels. I need a pillow with more body. The wifi never connected once when we were there, even down at reception. None of our 5 products were able to connect to it, even once. Also, it seems to be a thing in this region of Spain, but why do they insist on controlling the water temperature of my shower/bath? I like a very hot shower, not a lukewarm shower. It was impossible to raise the temperature of the water. It was barely warm enough even for a young baby.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Staff cheat customers. Watch your bills.

Cons: everything was up to expectation
7.1 Good
Pros: Staff and location
Cons: All the rest
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Bed comfortable but small. Blanket too small. Very nice hostess. Great location.
Cons: The only problem was the blanket - seemed like a single bed size on a small double bed 120cm. Better to be too big than too small. To be fair we were offered a choice of rooms either with small double bed or 2 large singles.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful owners. Perfect location. Good budget place.
Cons: The room needs more light, airconditioning units outside are rather noisy.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff and super close to plaza mayor. You can walk wherever you like and there's free street parking. There's a heater and AC in each room.
Cons: I wish there was a more of a cafe downstairs to buy fruits, yogurt or coffee for breakfast. There is a small vending machine. Very little bathroom soap so bring your own if you use a lot.
7.5 Good
Pros: bed was comfy, chair in the single room, plenty of hot water.
Cons: tv in room positioned too low, head height!
7.5 Good
Pros: Very nice receptionist, good location, second (rain) shower was great.

Pros: Conveniently located - relatively close to the old town, yet in "white" public parking zone (parking free of charge). Nice reception staff. Room not huge but enough for us as we stayed just one night. Competitive price.
Cons: Bathroom could have been a bit bigger.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is within walking distance of the old town, in a safe neighborhood with ample free street parking. It has all the basic amenities for an overnight stay. For some reason my GPS had me going in circles until I parked the car and someone walked me to the hotel. The staff were welcoming and spoke English. Very good value for it's location, quietness and comfort.
7.9 Good
Pros: We location is wonderful. A lot of free parking places near. Only 5 minutes to the historical centre, shops, bars. Highly recommended tapas bar "Perhaps". Really tasty, fantastic food, atmosphere, personal and price.
Cons: We stayed only for 1 night and it was Saturday... Window of our room was on a road...Condition wasn't working and we needed to open the window. Until 3 a.m. people walking along the street with songs and fun.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Cleanliness was excellent. The bedroom was bright, comfortable and generously sized. The shower worked well and there were good lights over the mirror. The location is excellent - just a few minutes on foot from the city centre and the old town.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location was good65
Cons: There were bedbugs. La receptionista was meddlesome, always watching you and wanting to Know what you were doing. She was like a cop. I thought the place had a strange atmosphere.

Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a little old fashioned and a tadge frayed around the edges but is very clean and our room was large with a good size bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and sheets a lovely thin cotton. Even the pillows were comfy, a first for me in Spain and we didn’t need to use our own which we’d bought with us. The staff on reception were very pleasant and helpful and always with a smile Continental Breakfast was very good and plentiful For the price we paid, facilities, staff and location, I happily recommend.
Cons: Nothing to take issue with
7.5 Good
Pros: overall as expected
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, spotlessly clean rooms of a good size. The location is very convenient and easily walkable to the historic centre. Parking was also available.
Cons: Nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: It was clean. Garage good with easy access to rooms via lift. They only charged 1 space for 2 motorbikes.
Cons: Constantly heard people walking about in adjacent rooms sounded like they were in the removal business also every time they flushed the loo we heard that. Didn't get much sleep.
7.1 Good
Pros: Middle of the road hotel - it’s old fashioned and a bit tired, but everything works. Our room was reasonably sized, clean and quiet. One negative is the lack of electrical sockets - the only free one is in the bathroom. Breakfast is basic, but there is enough to set you up for the day. They have an underground car park, but it’s an extra 10€ a day. The location was fine for the old town - about a 15 minute walk.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were excellent very helpful & friendly.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location plus underground parking, very helpful staf
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast equipment to make toast was a health hazard, should be updated. Breakfast basic but could eat as much as one wanted.
Cons: Would have liked a tray with Tea of Coffee making facilities to wake up to in the morning.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in heart of old town, simple yet spacious and comfortable room, included a breakfast (choices of cereal, toast, coldcuts, yogurt) which provided extra value.
Cons: No special view
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff at Reception were really helpful and welcoming. Location is just a short walk either through lovely park or down main street to old part of town. Hotel was quieter than most city centre hotels which was a bonus. Parking underneath was convenient but be aware like a lot of other hotels that I have used in Spanish city centres, it is a tight squeeze to get in and out of the parking spots. You need to jump out of your car and pop into Reception to get them to open garage door on your first arrival and be like the locals and don't panic about holding up the traffic in a side street whilst you do it.
Cons: Everything was just right for us.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good value for money Dog made welcome and could eat breakfast with him in the foyer area
Cons: Unable to park under hotel as not many spaces
