Featuring ocean view or oceanfront rooms and suites, facing a white, powdery sand beach and brilliant turquoise water, this oceanfront resort is just minutes from The Cancun Center and main shopping and entertainment areas. Thatched-roof palapas dot a fairly isolated stretch of beach fronting the resort, featuring 4 restaurants, 24-hours room service, fitness center, spa, 2 swimming pools. All guestrooms feature balconies or terraces with ocean views. The hotel's Royal Towers are adults only for travelers requesting a little more attention and privacy.
+ Property: Nice landscaping, beautiful beach front, excellent "adult only" pool. Overall it was nicely maintained. Royal tower room was beautiful with a large balcony, huge bathroom, couch/sitting area, and unobstructed view of the ocean. + Staff: Bartenders & wait staff at the adult pool and rooftop bar were awesome. Waiters at all of the restaurants were good. Cleaning/maid staff were excellent and kept our room looking spectacular everyday. The Royal Tower concierge (Gabriela) was very helpful with accommodating a special request we had. + Food: Good variety. Dinner at the Oriental, and breakfast buffet were the best meals we had during our stay.
- Property: **BEWARE** when booking that this resort goes by "building type" and not "room type." I thought we had booked a room with a King bed but was told there were none available, but we could upgrade to a "Royal Tower Room" with a King for $240 USD. After much frustration and back and forth with person at the front desk, he offered us a "COMPLIMENTARY UPGRADE" to the "Royal Tower Room".......for $50 USD cash he put directly into his pocket. Also -- the 1 and only hot tub was located near the family pool and was filled with young children everyday. There was feces sitting on the steps to the hot tub that were there for at least a half hour before someone pointed them out to maintenance and they were cleaned up; absolutely gross. And if you're looking for late night activities, you'll have to leave the resort because the last bars closed at 100 AM. - Staff: They always seemed to be trying to sell you on something. Beware, the workers in the lobby are not the actual concierge (even though they will tell you they are), they are actually selling timeshare. The real concierge is the opposite direction, near the elevators/banquet hall. Wait staff at the restaurants generally would not refill our water glasses unless we specifically asked them to. - Food: Quality was "OK". There was nothing I would go back for.
Location and some services.
Room is not quite comfortable. Small bathroom, TV didn't work all the time and shower wasn't very good. Hotel is ok but for the price I espected much much more.
Old, ugly hotel, food unatable especially (Oriental and Italian restaurant), lots of young, drunk noisy people. Rooms tidy but IBIS style, no shower cap (even on request), no shower gel only soap. Defenitely not a 5* hotel. After arrival they put a plastic bracelet on your wrist, and you can not take it off for the whole stay (including sleep, swimming, tanning, etc) Very annoying.
Pools, nice views, pool staff very nice. Plenty of options for cable tv. Good location.
While polite, reception and restaurant staff completely lacked charm of any kind and I actually found them quite intimidating. The dinner buffet was fairly revolting, not many options for other food, which was always cold by the time you received it by the pool. After giving it a couple of tries, we ended up always having to leave the hotel to get something decent to eat.
location is excellent. Paradise.
The hotel was fantastic! The food was good, and everything was nice and close. I would definitely stay here again.
I didn't like that my booking hadn't gone through and the price was different than advertised.
the cleanliness of the room and good location. Also swimming pool is very beautiful and the staffs are very very kind and polite.
