HK poor, Food poor, maint poor. However it was on the beach with a pool and much cheaper than comps.
I loved the location. Beach was spectacular! The hotel needs to be updated. First floor was full of barking dogs.
Extremely friendly multinational staff. Girls at the front desk were great. Saw them handle a demanding customer deftly. 'Tiki' bar is a plus and they serve food there and poolside. Beach is very clean and sand is off white so not too hot on the feet. Skim board and boogie board rentals on walkway out to beach. Not enough lounge chairs. Only saw 3. No egg whites in restaurant. My room had no frig or microwave. Alarm click was junk. Exercise equipment marginal at best. No weights.
The pool was nice but closed to early. We enjoyed having access to the beach from the pool area. We stayed two nights and no one ever came in to clean the room while we were out. We had three young children and the cable went out and no one came to fix it until that evening. The front desk staff in the evening were very rude. When I went to the front desk for help the person working was playing on her cell phone and did not even see me approach the counter. The beds were extremely uncomfortable as were the pillows. We will not be staying there again.
Just your typical mom and pop beach hotel, nothing fancy, but the staff was great and it's built for t-shirts and flip flops.
Pool, beach front and location close to shops was great. It is a shame could be great hotel but needs renovations. Looks and smells old and mildewy
Staff was great and location was great. Room was old. The balcony door was hard to close. The toilets didn't flush well.
Pool and beach access, pet friendly and has hot breakfast available every morning for purchase. Gym not functioning, air conditioner in room not functioning, and room very damp.
It was better than staying at one of the cheap motels or inns nearby Didn't seem to be as good as the ratings made it seem. Was a two star hotel at best.
The location. The balcony on the upper floors. The price was excellent for a beachfront hotel! The staff was extremely helpful! Unrenovated rooms...I stayed in a renovated room the first night but needed adjoining and had to switch and one was renovated the adjoining wasn't. The hotel is about to go through a huge reno and that will be awesome but you won't get the awesome pricing for this beachfront hotel.
Pool, poolside bar, private beach entrance, clean room with tile floor.
Five stars for location price and staff. (Thanks Shelby) minus 1 star for cold shower in the morning.
good for the price and good location TV was too dark and I couldn't adjust the brightness
Rooms were clean, tiled floors throughout, friendly staff
Room was clean and bed was comfortable .They also had a nice pool . A little further to the beach needed you take the car to get there
Rooms were kept clean. Pool area also clean and well kept. Short walk to beach. Good small Continental breakfast. Staff was knowledgeable and very helpful.
Very friendly staff, clean rooms, had a frig and micro in room (we used frig to store food brought), nice location, restaurants walking distance (also gave us discount for), grocery nearby, beach nearby, it was perfect for us! we didn't take advantage of the breakfast (we have gluten free persons, no items for them) but we expected that
have always felt welcomed and well attended to when have had questions or asked for special service
Love the location. Comfort and clean. A/C wasn't working properly, too much noisy.
Upon checkin I stood in lobby for greater than 20 minutes with no one in sight. Once an employee finally arrived I asked if everything was OK and she acted like I had done something wrong! She was very rude. Also toilet clogged up during stay they told me no one was available to fix it for me to come to lobby to get a plunger. Does anyone work here?
Rooms were very modern and clean. Staff was very friendly. Pool area is beautiful.
Plane was delayed by 7 hours. I get a phone call from the hotel offering a refund for my first night. They didn't have to call, but they did. No other service (car rental, etc) that I had reservations wouldn't give me a refund, let alone call to ask if I wanted one. Front desk folks were nice gentlemen. They respected all my requests and were cheerful to be around.
The staff were friendly . Good breakfast , good pool noisy aircondition
The location was great, picked originally was planning to bring a pet turned out to be a great place to stay No exercise room
Clean rooms, hardwood floors, really good price for the clean updated rooms, fantastic included breakfast (not just your average cereal and toast... We had sausage, pancakes, eggs, home fries, cheese grits, etc.) No elevators, ice machines were far away (downstairs, around the corner and behind the building), shower only
It was clean, clean & most of all clean! Close to tram pickup. Housekeeper showed up at 8:30am!! We miss you seed it every day we were there. Check out is 11, why is housekeeping coming so early when we're sleeping?!
Pets allowed Loved everything will be rebooking
The complimentary breakfast provided was very nice, even had fresh fruit! The location was a bit out of the way. We like to walk everywhere so it was a bit of a walk to get to the "old town" section of St. Augustine, maybe a two mile walk?? If you don't like walking a taxi ride is inexpensive, about $8.00 one way from the hotel to the "old town", we chose this mode of transportation at night.
The pool was beautiful, clean and well maintained. The breakfast included things like chocolate chip pancakes and cheese grits. The staff at the front desk was friendly and pleasant. We really enjoyed our stay here!
Breakfast and Pet friendly Service and price.
Clean rooms and a good breakfast. I would definitely stay again Walls were thin so it was very loud inside the rooms. Heard neighbors and people walking outside room throughout the night
Great, friendly & helpful staff...liked the touch of a server for the breakfast!
extremely close to the beach and still accessible to old town. not much
Great location, clean rooms, very quiet. Specifically reserved room 206, then told on arrival room wasn't available because people in it decided to stay. They should have been moved to another room. They should update the mattress, they were a bit lumpy.
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Small bathroom.
Restaurant hint (Salt Water Cowboys) by the front desk clerk was THE HIT!
The staff was very nice and helpful ,very friendly, they also know the area by giving good direction ,and direct you to places of intrest on the first Day there was some ants in the room ,i mean big red ants , well I report it and they take care of them
Everything That the pool closed at 10pm
Staff was super friendly. Christian checked us in and helped with our first issue promptly when we brought it to him. The Maintenance staff was responsive and professional when assisting with the second issue. We arrived and checked into our room, the first room we were put into smelled terrible a heavy damp mildew smell. We assumed that since it's a beach hotel maybe once we got the air going it would clear out. Two hours later (I'm not one to make complaints so it took me awhile to decide I really couldn't handle it) I ventured to the front desk and Christian offered to show me another room not too far from where we were. The next room also had an odor but it was more of a remodel smell (paint/new carpet etc). We moved because anything was better than the room we had originally. Now the issue with the second room was that the AC didn't work, it blew air but never got cool. Made for a long late May night in a hotel on the beach with no windows. The front desk sent maintenance to work on it shortly after we let them know the next morning and the unit was replaced. After those bumps the stay was fine. Breakfast is nice at this property. Staff is great but the rooms left a lot to be desired.
The layout of the room is exactly like every other motel. But this is the only similarity the Jay Bird has with others. The entire motel has been renovated and it feels like it has been recent but I think they simply do a fantastic job at maintaining what they've done. The room was nicely tiled throughout with what looks like upscale tile and the decor or the wall which the beds sits at, helps make the room look very upscale. Just like something you'd find in New York or California. The bathroom is just as nicely renovated. A walk in shower the size of a tub with a "rain shower" type shower head placed nice and high for tall guests. I'm surprised they don't charge more than they do for these rooms. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend this motel to anyone! The younger staff referring to me and other guests as "Buddy", instead of "Sir". I thought this as very unprofessional and not fitting to the standard the rest of the motel.
Everything about Jaybird's Inn was great. Great room, great staff, great restaurant, great food, and great prices. I will start there again next time I'm in St. Augustine. Loved everything.
Wow! What a great place I found and so last minute. This place is so cute and so clean! My boyfriend and I just wanted to get out of our town for a little get-a-way and this was the perfect spot for it! We are in our mid-to-late 20's and can appreciate a nice hotel and great service. Our room was perfect, nice and upgraded. I didn't show my boyfriend the hotel when I booked it, he was a little skeptical when we arrived but when I opened the door and he saw it, he dropped his bags and looked at me with the biggest smile on his face and said "Wow, this is awesome, look at the floors and countertops" Having a man who does high end home renovations can be quiet hard to satisfy, but I did just that when I found the Jaybird. The place was clean and had everything we needed and just a 2 minute drive to the city center. And the price, you can't beat it! We will definitely be coming back to stay at the Jaybird!
We weren't sure about Jaybirds when we pulled up. I had booked the room based on reviews and was surprised to find an old school motel. Boy, were our expectations exceeded!!! Helpful desk manager, nice clean room with local art photography on the walls and one of the best diners I've ever eaten at is attached! The bartender is very knowledgeable about the area. We continues our road trip up into the Carolinas and stayed at a variety of places, but jaybirds was my family's favorite!
I read many reviews before deciding on the Jaybird Inn. We were pleasantly surprised. The remodeled rooms were clean and comfortable, the beds were very comfortable and the staff was helpful. Not really a walk to downtown
It was clean. Some of the staff are not as nice
Friendly staff, especially Shirley. Priced right, good location, would definitely stay there again.
We traveled with a one year old... the staff were extremely helpful. The room was newly remodeled and nicely I might add. The a//c great, the location for our purpose was good, the restaurant next door was also a plus...breakfast super....warning if you order the pancakes....you will need a doggie bag. Parking a little tight. Pool is adequate but small.Overall good.
The room was huge and recently remodeled. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. Great hotel!
not much the rooms were dirty, setup poorly,
Everything was good, nice place Poor breakfast
We stayed for 4 nights for a much needed restful vacation, Jaybirds Inn was perfect, very clean, beds and bedding very comfortable and the location great as well as helpful staff. Would recommend it and actually planning another trip back before the end of the year Would have liked some healthier choices for breakfast.
This is the 3rd time I have stayed at the Casa Monica. It is a great property in an excellent location. The hotel is getting a bit on the rundown side. Our sink faucet sprayed water all over the counter which was a little messy. But the charm and ambiance will make Casa Monica a hotel choice in the future. The hotel bar is very good and well staffed. The food there is great after a long day walking. The rooms are charming and the beds are very comfortable. We were on the 4th floor and the high ceiling and western view over the pool deck was very nice. Staff is first rate and the cleanliness is too notch. I know there are some renovations underway and I think some of the older features are being brought current. Just not a 5 star this time.
Rooms were beautiful and clean.
All staff we encountered were very welcoming and helpful, especially Meredith and Holly at the Front Desk, Ron at Valet Parking and our cleaning person.
Pluming was a little bad . Slow draing tub . Low water pressure
very good location foe seeing the sights. The price was reasonable. Could not get to our room because of construction in the hall and rooms on both sides of our room. Power tools and lumber laying across the hall. Dust and dirt everywhere. We asked the woman at the desk when checking in to move us to a different part of the hotel. She said that she would be "happy to cancel our reservation and we could go somewhere else" I asked to speak to a manager and was told that was not possible, the head housekeeper did come out to say that the construction on the room next to us would end at 4PM that day, It did not. Reception, dinning room and bar was closed for renovations. A nearby room was turned into the breakfast room and a temporary reception area was placed in the back, and a portable bar was set up in the evening serving beer and wine. What kind of wine, we asked the server; Red and White. This type of customers service may just keep me from going to a Hilton in the future. Management just didn't care.
The hotel is perfectly located in St. augustine right on the seafront. It is right in the middle of the old St. Augustine, so everything can be easily accessed by walking (5 min max). The rooms are clean and nice. WiFi fast and free. There are no views except for seaviews. St Augustine is a very beautiful city and sea view is not the best thing to see outside of a window here.
It was located close to everything we wanted to see. We did not need to use our car. Restaurants, shopping, siteseeing
Very little. Breakfast, Costly Valet Parking, very small room for $430 / per night, amenities in room similar to Motel 8 hotels. Definitely not a Hilton Hotel model I would be proud of.
The Hilton Bayfront is an amazing hotel. The staff was awesome and our room was comfortable and clean. I would recommend it to everyone I know. It's location is absolutely perfect in the heart of the historic district. walking distance to almost everything.
The $24 parking + tip was an experience. Never stayed in a handicapped room before since I'm not handicapped. The $15 free continental breakfast + tip was superb.
Room and great location Poor breakfast
Hot tub was not hot at all! For the price of the room, Wifi should be included, no reason to pay $14.95 per day when wifi is free in lobby. Was told there was a sauna, NO such luck, Room was used for storage.
For golf fans, this is a great location. The hotel was beautiful and close to the Hall of fame and great courses. The restaurants were pricey.
Loved everything about this hotel. For the price, this hotel was off .the charts, No complaints whatsoever
good service, excellent accommodations, fantastic golf courses
Will stay there again assuming time permits.
The staff were accommodating, and we were treated to a complimentary dessert and sparkling wine as a treat for the last day of our honeymoon. The room was nearly perfect excepting a broken.smoke detector. The fitness facility was amazing. The resort clientele appeared below the standards to which the hotel aspires. In addition, the check-in process was slow. The contemporary or "virtual" terminals were not sufficient. Finally, the resort would benefit from a few more onsite amenities such as a second restaurant or bar area and indoor pool. As a member of the Marriott family, excellent models abound.
The hotel itself is amazing and the location is fine. You have to pay for internet and certain amneties
Bartender was very friendly, Check in was very courteous and helpful.
Beautiful place. Clean rooms. booked the hotel but we're placed in the villas. Down the street and away from hotel conveniences such as restaurants and bar. . Booking said 12:00 check out villas had a 10:00 am check out. Pull out bed instead of two doubles.
The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were attentive, and without being reminded remembered after our first morning that one of our party did not eat meat (and prepared subsequent breakfasts without meat).
Lovely place, quaint, breakfast room very nice with delicious food and 40's music, Chelsea and Katie are wonderful. We'd stay again. Also sweet cat lives there. My guy is a big guy. Shower a little tight for him. Shower soap too small. No box of tissues. Didn't get in the way of our enjoying the place.
The Palmbreeze room was clean and very comfortable. Nice decor. Friendly staff, easy check in and check out. Breakfast gave both of us a horrible stomach ache. We're normally not sensitive to any type of food nor do we have any food allergies.
Staff was really wonderful! Helped with everything in a friendly pleasant manner. A little far from town. No free shuttle and no on site workout room.
Breakfast was delivered to your room at a time period you selected. Breakfast items were very flavorable and tasty (but there were limited choices). Staff was very friendly. Room had a definite smell to it. They had a family with small children directly above us who were constantly running and jumping and we could hear every thump and they were up early in the morning. Breakfast choices were limited.
It was landscaped so beautifully. They delivered a warm fresh baked breakfast every morning. The bed was very comfortable . We met the owners and they made us feel very important . It was a little too expensive .
Staff very friendly Ad was very misleading. Expected to be on the ocean and we were 1/2 mile away. Ad stated poolside which was a big joke. We could see it from our room way across the parking lot.
So close to the beach, fairly quiet, not real busy, dogs allowed on beach, fun watching them!!Area was nice and clean, room was very efficient, perfect for is! Restaurants a little closer,we walked a lot!
Very great service. Friendly staff who were attentive and generous.
I don't like saying everything was great but this is one if those rare places where in felt welcomed and all was just great!
The home feeling, service, and privacy
Very beautiful! The staff were nice and very helpful. The food was delicious! The only problem I encountered was that the pillows were too hard for me to be comfortable. We got there too late to ask the staff for other pillows- I'm sure there would have been another option available if we were there early enough to ask!
The staff was very helpful and location is short trip to down town St Augustine . Would stay there again if rates are still good...
My girlfriend and I had a great weekend here. The hotel is beautiful, and the room is spacious. The jacuzzi tub in the room was the selling point for us, though. Comfortable and spacious. The only thing I didn't like was the use of harsh, daylight/cool white light bulbs throughout the room, rather than the more comfortable tungsten/warm white I would expect from an otherwise couples-oriented vibe.
It's a great place, very clean, easy proximity to everything even downtown given the size of St. Augustine, that's not even a ten minute cab ride with traffic. Hotel is quiet, not very updated but it's not that kind of town. Free coffee around the clock and always someone on staff to help. Overall about a 4.5/5. Just needs to update a few immenities - gym is pretty sad, could really take advantage of the 4th floor balcony with like a happy hour or something
Maureen at the front desk was super friendly! Lots of good advice on what to do in the area. Close proximity to the beach Breakfast was delicious Large pool area 5 minutes from downtown St. Augustine On par with pricing with other hotels in the St. Augustine area, not exactly a deal No smoking, possibility of a $200 smoking fee charged to your account
The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Room is always clean. Not too fond of the restaurant that's there. We eat pretty healthy and they didn't have many healthy options. Also, we wish there was room service for the nights we spent inside.
Staff was friendly. There was an actual hot tub in the room. Bed was comfy. Shower was huge. Everything worked out. Had to pay for breakfast.
This was a spur of the moment trip and I LOVED the hotel! Staff was wonderful and very helpful. It was just a short walk to the beach! I only spent one night but would definitely go back again! Saint Augustine is one of my favorite places in the world. I recommend this place!
How fresh and clean the room was and smelled. The Jacuzzi tub was amazing and the double shower head a dream!!! The room had an amazing view of the water and adorable gazebo. It had a cute garden and lots of places to cuddle up or relax. The late chick in at 3 and the early check out at 11, I just wanted to stay forever.
quaint hotel in the heart of everything we wanted to do... parking for hotel guest was over a block away... good thing it was not raining when we were there...
Charming staff,Great location, and just an overall enjoyable experience. no
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Great location within walking distance of nearly everything. Rooms older. Very clean but very limited. Breakfast minimal more like a snack.
It is located in a perfect spot with walking access to shopping, the fort, and Ripley's. We loved our stay and will definitely stay here again when we return.
Open air shopping area was fun. location was perfect near bars, shops, water and the fort. Staying above the chocolate shop was too tempting. Also sugar hyped children ran up and down the steps. Fortunately they crashed early.
This hotel's staff have been extremely friendly, beyond helpful, they offer free continental breakfast, free wi-fi, discounted parking, elevator usage, and the room has that romantic feel. Not a thing.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
It was right in the beginning of the town village. Close to everything an it was cozy. Nope
Very friendly and helpful staff Noise from nearby tour buses
The room overlooked the old town shopping area and had great porches and rocking chairs. The staff was very friendly and came right out to unload the car and give us the parking pass for the garage. Our bags were immediately taken to the room.
Clean modern room with large comfortable bed. We did not like the. Tourist Disney quality of the town and HATED that the hotel had no parking and was scared taking out bags out on such a busy intersection. We would not stay there again.
The location to what we wanted to do. Room could have been bigger for the price paid.
Comfortable Room Fantastic Location Accommodating Hosts Decent Breakfast Breakfast was not to the standard I would have expected for the price. The room lacked space to store travel bags so they were in the way. Staff was not available for help at 9:00p even when I left a message on their reservation phone number.
The inn was in a perfect location and perfectly kept. But the best of the stay was the perfect hosts who provided the perfect amount of engagement and assistance. Will go back many times in the future for sure. It was all just PERFECT.
It was my second stay, it's not a long cab ride from downtown, it's across the street from the beach. Sunset Grille is a good place to grab a beer and a bite to eat. The hotel itself serves breakfast and has a conveience store in it which is nice. The hotel, overall is clean and I would recommend staying there. The bathroom door wouldn't close and the room smelled like someone smoked in it a while ago.
Each was across street and several blocks away but not too far to walk
We weren't aware about the breakfast until we were leaving. No mention of it and no one told us Hilton had breakfast
We loved the spa tub and the king size bed! It was nice to be in a bubble bath and have open doors to see the TV and bed. Best night's sleep we've had in awhile. The only down side was the TV. It says in the pamphlet you can rent pay per view movies, which isn't true. Also, it would have been nice if there was a DVD player.
The room wasn't bad, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good, but not included. The location wasn't what I had expected. Our reservation was until Friday, but they told us it was only until Thursday onThursday. After we packed everything up and loaded the car because they said no rooms were available, they realized their mistake and put us in another room. It was a big hassle for us. Comping breakfast the next day didn't make up for it.
