10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic panoramic view, nice and very helpful owner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ponte Capograssi is a perfect example of what a b & b should be like. The owner, Dante was there when we arrived and he showed us around, answering all our questions. He gave us restaurant information and a map to the town. He made himself available if we needed help during our stay. The room was lovely—comfortable bed, fluffy towels, very clean and welcoming. Breakfast was great—cheese, ham, bread, fruit, yoghurt and delicious cakes, made by Dante’s wife. There is even a lift to the apartment! Sulmona is a beautiful little town with good restaurants and interesting shops. The “confetti” flowers are beautifully made. We loved our stay and would highly recommend B&B Ponte Capograssi!
Cons: Everything was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is was amazing. It smelt so nice and clean. The view was beautiful, especially in the morning. Dante was a super host, even drove use to the station when we left, and made sure our train was on the platform. Could not ask for a nicer person. Thank you Dante for everything. We loved it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner went beyond expectations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sulmona is a lovely city to use as your base for visiting the surrounding countryside. We had a rental car and had no trouble finding free or very cheap parking in front of the apartment or very close by. The host was warm and friendly and advised us on good restaurants nearby. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean and comfortable. The dining room, kitchen, entrance and rooms have clearly been recently modernized and redecorated...a lovely new space. Breakfasts were tasty and filling and the coffee was great. You are a two minute walk into the center of the beautiful old town. Be sure to stop into the visitor centre and check out the huge market which takes place once or twice a week. The locals were friendly and welcoming. We are so glad we visited this jewel of a town and Ponte Capograssi!

Pros: Really enjoyed our stay here. Got excellent recommendations. Close to all the sights. Very clean. Good breakfasts. Highly recommended. Great price. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Pros: We traveled for 24 days across Italy and stayed in B&B, apartments and hotels. Marta's house is by far the best for comfort, location and service that we had in Italy. Marta was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. And Nancy prepared the best breakfast, with eggs, fresh coffee and homemade fig pie. Thanks for a great stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I was in Italy for University travel for almost three weeks. I traveled to Milan, Rome, Isernia, and Sulmona. This B and B was the best place that I stayed during my trip. Marta (owner) and her staff were warm, helpful, and charming. The location and history of the building made staying here a memorable experience. Breakfast included a multitude of choices and Nancy made excellent coffee and eggs. I will be returning to the area for work and will stay here again. Also, Sulmona and the Abruzzo area are a beautiful part of Italy with gorgeous forests, towns, art, and warm people. Recommended without hesitation. I wanted to stay an extra night but the B and B was fully booked and deservedly so.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality of Marta and her caring attitude. The place is designed and furnished with a lot of attention to the dstails. The location is right in the middle of the old city.
Cons: Parking
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is in a great location for exploring both Sulmona and the hilltop towns. The breakfast room, on the top floor, offers the most amazing views of the surrounding countryside. And don’t miss the huge markets twice a week. Marta is an absolutely beautiful hostess and could not do enough to make our stay a pleasure.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the best B&B we stayed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was the 6th trip to Italy for my wife and I, always to different regions and cities. We loved the setting of Sulmona in the mountains, and made day drives (rented car) to other nearby small towns. We enjoyed a 3 night stay. Our hostess Marta was exceptional, very friendly, hard working and attentive. She met us on the beautiful roof-top each morning for breakfast. Breakfast was always pleasant with assorted fresh fruits, pastries and made-to-order eggs. We enjoyed excellent weather, so the roof top was a real treat. The views of the city and surrounding mountains were an awesome start to each day. The room was comfortable, quiet and spotless. The location is a flat and easy approximately 150 yard walk from the main street of town. There are plenty of nice restaurants, gelato shops and stores. The town has an open air market a few times a week. We lucked out with parking, and were able to find spots within 100ft of our door. (Not always possible) It was a great choice for our needs. It was a 10.
Cons: It was all good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Marta is a kind, generous, informative and humorous hostess. The b&b is absolutely beautiful from the interior courtyard to the beautifully decorated rooms to the breathtaking rooftop. The location is perfect to stroll the old town or to use as a base to explore the beauties of Abruzzo. Our absolute favorite, do not deprive yourself of the experience of staying here!
Cons: There was absolutely nothing to not like

9.6 Excellent
Pros: David was very accommodating and helpful. He arranged a driver to take us to Alba Fucens one day and walked us to a restaurant the day we arrived because most were closed for the afternoon. The place was immaculate and quite unique with the ancient viaduct running through it. We had a room with a view of the piazza and the viaduct. The room was large and the B & B was convenient to walking all the main avenues of Sulmona. It was a perfect location and even had a rooftop deck you had access to day and night. We met a few other travelers on the deck and had interesting conversations with them. Breakfast was pastries, fruit, and yogurt. You could have your coffee and cappuccinos made to order. Sulmona is a wonderful jumping off place to go to Pacentro, a short 20 minute bus drive away. The whole area was magical. The restaurants were great, however, they stop serving in the afternoon for siesta and don't open back up until 7:30, that was inconvenient at times. The whole surrounding area was safe and we walked the streets at night and felt perfectly safe. When the windows were shut it was quiet.
Cons: The beds were hard and we had twin beds and they were small. There was no where to put toiletries in the bathroom which was minor but an inconvenience. The room was cold and the heat was only turned on occasionally but I would stay here again in a heart beat. The heating issue had more to do with the season we were there at. It was changing over in the fall and not quite cold yet outside.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My sister and I had a great visit to Sulmona and really enjoyed staying at B&B Sei Stelle! Davide was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Communication with him was super easy and he helped us find parking upon arrival. Sulmona is a really cute little town located in a beautiful part of Italy. The B&B is very conveniently located on the edge of the town making it easy for parking without the need to drive through the town center and yet within just a 2 minute walk from the heart of the town. The room and facilities in the B&B had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and Davide even made it early for us since we had an early departure planned. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others!
Cons: I have no complaints about our stay at B&B Sei Stelle - everything was great.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great and in an area where there isn't much English spoken it was lovely to have a host who understood. Such an amazing view from our room ( which also had a fab bathroom), but best of all was the terrace. We visited the hermitage (so peaceful) and the confetti museum (not that exciting) but a drive out to Pacentro and beyond was wonderful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: David’s was a great host. He met us personally when our GPS failed. He gave us roses and candy to help celebrate our anniversary. Parking was cheap and close. Centrally located in town with lots of dining options.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a gem! The location is perfect! We sat on the deck every morning and evening which overlooked the main square and mountains. It was breathtaking! David made you feel so welcomed from the moment you arrived! We truly felt like family! He gave us helpful suggestions each day and he went out of his way to help us. I would come back here every year!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Host went out of his way to ensure that everything was taken care of for us including escorting us to the property when we could not find it initially.

Pros: Charming place near town square. A family owned business, the owners provided a pleasant personal touch. We would stay there again and highly recommend for other travelers
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located at the super city center. The room is huge, bed comfortable, excellent bathroom and has everything you need for your stay. The breakfast is delicious. Everything in my stay was fabulous but the best of all are the members of the family that own the hotel. They are specially nice people. Thank you for receiving me as I was at my own home. I would definitely come back to Rohan!

Pros: This is really a classy hotel. Great ambience, very clean and comfortable rooms, ample fresh breakfast, and the host Gianluca couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful. Sulmona deserves to be visited more and this is an excellent place to stay. I only stayed one night, planning on longer next time.
Cons: Nothing, all good!
Rocca Lorenizo - Pacentro - Bedroom

9.7 Excellent (72 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is amazing and looks much beautiful than the pictures. Mimo and Elita are amazing hosts. We got Italian breakfast that was very good, everything home made, fresh and tasty. Our appartement was big and clean, maybe missed only a fan in the bedroom as at night could be a bit hot. The swimming pool is clean and with stunning view on the surrounding. Pacentro center is in a walking distance. Small and beautiful town. Sulmona is in 10 min drive. Thank you Mimo and Elita, we had amazing four days!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The setting was beautiful.
Cons: It was hard for us to find the property. Directions from booking.com sent us to a private home. Then we were at a locked gate where we had to call to contact the owner. We appeared to be the only guests so it was a little awkward during breakfast. Room was rather cold and we had no idea if there was a way to get some heat, but under the covers we were quite comfortable. We had had a long 24 hours of travel so after a lovely dinner in Pacentro we fell into bed and slept well. We were In the village for two celebrations on the day following our stay: Pacentro’s saint’s day and Liberation Day, celebrating overcoming the fascists. In the village there was a parade and street vendors and a festive atmosphere. We mentioned it to the owner and he seemed not to know about the day being anything special. Perhaps we didn’t make ourselves understood. My Italian is limited as was Mimo’s English.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wanderful week of vacation in guest house. Everything is perfect : the rooms very clean, a beautiful setting, a very nice swimming pool, super breakfasts with excellent local products. The onewers know how to receive their guests. For us, it is 10/10.Thank you for your attention. Anneso Belgium
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly located place for either relaxation at the pool or trips to beautiful Abruzzo villages and mountains. The place itself is an old fortress, perfectly renovated, keeping the genius loci. The owners were superb with their attitude, very kind, we felt like at our grandparents :-)) Not to forget delicious breakfasts with breathtaking view.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: There are famous hotels, big resorts, cosy B&Bs, but there are also places to stay which are absolutely amazing and Rocca Lorenizio is one of them. This old mansion made of stones looks like a little castle. Not only outside, but also inside with old furniture, decoration etc. Even new elements like e.g. electric switches or sockets are adjusted to the old style. The communication with the owner was without any problems. The room that we got was quite small, but it wasn’t a surprise for us as the description/name mentioned that it’s small. It was equipped with bed, wardrobe, bedside tables and a small flat TV. There was also an ensuite toilet with a shower. There were no problems with water pressure and temperature, which is often a problem in some older B&Bs. The guests may also use the shared kitchen with the dining room (the tavern). In the garden there’s a swimming pool (with sunbeds) open in summer, which is again an extra because most of other B&Bs in the region don’t have it, there’s also a gazebo with a place for BBQ. The breakfast, if weather permits, is served on the terrace, which we found to be a great idea. Typically for Italy it’s sweet, but with local and homemade or grown products like cheese, jams, figs and a delicious every day different cake. The location is good for those who like peaceful and quiet places, but don’t want to be too distant from the civilization. Rocca Lorenizio is located by a secondary road with very little traffic and surrounded by fields trees olive, figs etc. trees. The view over the valley and mountains is also amazing, especially during the sunset. It’s also a good starting place for hiking in Majella National Park. On the other hand it’s only a bit more than one kilometre away, so within the walking distance, from the historic city of Pacentro where one can find some bars and shops. Sulmona, a much bigger city with variety of services and places to visit, is 10 km away, so just 15 min of driving
Cons: There’s not much one can complain, only minor remarks for example it was mentioned in the description of the room that there’s a nice view, but actually the window in our room faced a wall and garden. Fortunately views from other parts of the property, like the swimming pool or the terrace, compensated it. The owners may also think of installing wifi, at least in shared areas, as it’s becoming a standard.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The family are lovely and the experience was truly memorable in only a positive way
Cons: The food offering was outstanding, however some more savoury options at breakfast would make it even more perfect, e.g. omelette or cheese, which would help to set you up for a day of activities, cake is great but tends to result in a sugar crash!

Pros: Staff members are just great! The guest house is super comfortable, in the center of Sulmona. Since it was available we had an upgrade on our reservation, the room was amazing. Picking us form the train station and giving us several lifts to a few locations which were not in walking distance, always with a smile and care. They made us feel very special. We can't say enough positive things about the host and owner. The room was superb, beautifully appointed, very clean and spacious. The location was perfect, central to all the shops, restaurants and historic sights. We would not hesitate to recommend santacroce guest house to anyone. Pros: The b&b was right on the Main Street. There was also free flow of food in the lobby which was great for afternoon breaks.
Cons: The aircon did not work well so the room was very warm. We couldn’t connect to the WiFi and despite telling the hotel staff..we did not get a response or fix. Also, we did not get a refill of toiletries during our stay.
7.5 Good
Pros: Room and bathroom were big and clean. Location in the center was excelent.
Cons: We didn’t get wifi working and asked it from hotel’s reception. We found out that there has been some reparation to it and we should try again later. Person we talked was not interested on our problem and wifi did not work on the whole time we were there. On the reservation it said that breakfast was included and we found out when checking in that it was not included but there would be always some breakfast available at the guesthouse. Every morning we got fresh sweet croisants, but there was not refill on yogurts and juices on fridge.

Also the position was not in the centre, but very close to it, reachable by a nice walk of 10 minutes.

Pros: V comfortable friendly hotel just off main drag in Sulmona. Did everything we needed it to. Sulmona good place for a stop. Majella National park magnificent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: we enjoyed the stay in the hotel, the staff was very plesent , the place was very cleen, and the hotel is in a very good location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in the centre of old Sulmona run by two brothers, Roberto and Guiseppe who could not have been more friendly or helpful. It was tricky finding the hotel in the car so we found a space to park and walked. After checking in Roberto walked back to the car with me and directed me to the underground car park - it's inexpesive (£14 for a weekly ticket) and very close to Piazza Garibaldi, the centre of Sulmona. Roberto then helped with my large suitcase as we walked the short distance back to the hotel - great service. Sulmona has some quirky restaurants - try Cantina di Biffi, Buonvento and Il Vecchio Muro - all good.
Cons: Everthing about Albergo Stella was good!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very well located, comfortable and quiet. Very welcoming and helpful proprietors. We will happily return here.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice breakfast. Excellent location in the middle of the city. Nice lobby, good-sized room, wifi connection worked great. Air conditioning worked great and was much appreciated! Mini fridge in the room, supplied with water. Some really nice touches.
Cons: Just two small things out of a very good visit: they have the old fashioned hair dryers that are mounted from the wall with a tube that doesn't blow much hot air at your hair but burns your fingers. Long overdue for replacement. And when I picked up the towels to put them near the shower the morning after checking in, the towels were wet. I don't mean like they needed five more minutes in the dryer, I mean that they had been folded and set in the bathroom wet like they had been pulled out of the washer--and they had been sitting that way all night. That was odd, and it seemed like something the staff should have noticed and corrected.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded to a suite (room 7) and it was a surprise and a lovely room. Very well appointed with a private terrace. The management went out of the way to be helpful. For example, when we arrived one of the two brothers who manage the hotel hopped in our car with us to show us the way to the convenient parking garage, which would have been a challenge to find. Week of parking for 14 Euro. Great deal.
Cons: All was good

Cons: Very steep stairs to bedrooms. Difficult to carry up luggage. Supplies for breakfast could be better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The communication was really great before and during our stay, Luciana was really nice with us and really welcoming. The breakfast was also fresh and good. The room and house was nicely decorated and located, in the heart of Sulmona. We recommend !
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It is a very nice clean place. The host was nice enough to heat because the nights were cold. The owners do not live there, but they will come by and reprovision the place. Downstairs is a little kitchen and you can use it for your own stuff. One flight up are 2 rooms, so you might have to share the kitchen. The location is perfect, close to sights, bus, restaurants, stores.
Cons: You have to prepare your own breakfast. There is lots of stuff provided, but I missed my Cappuccino.
7.0 Good
Pros: + Owner was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. + The room was very clean and pretty, like in the pictures. + Very nice location, in the center of Sulmona but a small street with no noise.
Cons: - Steep flight of stairs to reach the bedrooms. - If you don't speak or understand Italian communication is a bit difficult. - Breakfast was full of things wrapped in plastic, nothing fresh.

Pros: Location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts were so generous and hospitable. Every breakfast featured something new—a great variety to choose from. They helped us find our way around Sulmona and were eager to assist us with our very feeble Italian. One of the best B&Bs we’ve ever stayed in.

Pros: The hosts were fantastic, generous breakfasts. Our host even took us on a personal drive to local sites and waited 1 hour while we visited one of them.
Cons: The beds

Pros: A lovely hotel up near Sulmona cathedral, with superb views of the valley. We love the breakfast/restaurant room with the views. The restaurant menu is varied and has gluten free options. The hotel is very willing to adapt dishes also. The hotel now provides a shuttle to the train station which is very handy.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant was excellent,as was breakfast. The staff were very helpful and attentive.
Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff, rooms, parking facility. Location.
Cons: The website advertises “Breakfast Included” I was shocked when I was charged for ordering eggs for breakfast. Not my idea of “Breakfast Included” I have travelled extensively in my life in Europe, America & Asia and have never been charged when told that breakfast was included. Very disappointing.

Pros: The large modern, comfortable room
Cons: The restaurant did not appeal to us.

Cons: The restaurant both for evening meal and breakfast was below what we were expecting.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Property was in a good location. Parking was secure. Didn't appreciate the fact that my room was hot every time I came in the room. They pass key system is ridiculous.
Cons: A/C system in rooms. Every time you leave your room , it shut off.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Always a wonderful stay at the Hotel Ovidius! Wonderful staff, the location is great with onsite parking and the breakfast is a nice bonus. The restaurant does a nice job as well, and we're food snobs! Think you would be hard pressed to find better in Sulmona!!
Cons: Can't think of anything!

Cons: A bit too isolated
5.8 Okay
Pros: It is a one room hotel. We arrived late at night and had to listen to how uncomfortable it is for the landlady. We felt absolutely not welcomed. Room is spacious and clean and looks as in the picture, but we would never stay in the hotel again because of the customer service.
Cons: breakfast was ridiculous. We received some croisants and cookies in plastic bags. We are travelling all around Italy and we dont mind Italian breakfast, but these were cheapest cookies from supermarket. Nothing fresh. No fruit, nothing.

10.0 Excellent
Cons: great b&b . exellent locaction in old city. great value for money .
7.5 Good
Cons: The location is central but very noisy from the street. If you have a car, you nerd to keep it few 100 metres away because the apartment is in zona traffico limitato - it means tou cannot drive in. Walking with luggage 400 m is not a good idea...
7.9 Good
Pros: It was ok but could have improved pre arrival instructions Re where to park as where the B&B is situated is down a narrow street . The term luxury I don’t think is a fair description the property is in a beautiful building but the double bed was really uncomfortable and the breakfast I was poor it is delivered at a time to suit you by a local cafe - consisted of a choice of tea or coffee and 1 croissant each no butter or jam provided that is not luxurious that is basic - be careful as we were charged an extra 10 euros as we booked and thought it was the price but the price is for one person additional people are charged - not clear on the booking . I think it was a fair price for the money but not luxury as described .
Cons: Breakfast was poor and bed and pillows uncomfortable
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location in the centre of the historic city. Lovely rooms with tall ceilings, well furnished, great bathroom.
Cons: We arrived earlier than anticipated which led to some confusion about breakfast arrangements these were resolved.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Traditional Italian
Cons: Nothing to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a fantastic apartment. We enjoyed the stay though it was just one night. They give more than what is needed for breakfast! Highly recommended to anyone!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It was clean, close to the city center, and was a huge place. The dining table was set beautifully for us for breakfast. It was set in a gorgeous period building with high ceilings
Cons: My definition of luxury and the luxury of the B&B are very different. It was nice but I wouldn’t call it luxury. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable. The noise from other apartments, downstairs and the road echoed through. When we booked we looked at the photos and with all the photos of champagne and strawberries we thought this would be included but it wasn’t (that was a fault of ours for assuming, but was equally disappointing having been photographed many times).

Pros: There was a full kitchen to cook in for all meals. Right in the heart of Sulmona - great location. The rooms were clean and the it was very spacious and relaxing.
