I liked the staff, they were personable and hospitable. The pool was neat and it had a retractable cover so it was indoor/outdoor. I didn't use the hammam or spa services but would have if it would've if it had been easier to get an appointment. I did not like that this hotel was in proximitity to the beach and had absolutely no services or amenities that relate to beach-going. They wouldn't let us take the towels from the hotel to the beach, but they also had no towel rental service either. We had to buy some really expensive towels at the beachside place then had to pack them home. I explained this to one staff attendant (who spoke little to no english) and he looked at me as if to say "not my problem." The hotel was a little seedy looking and the room was really small and cramped. And there was absolutely no place to hang wet towels or swimsuits. The shower had no curtain, so after showering the floor was flooded, and the towels were so thin you had to use more than one.
Nice pool and patio area, free parking, resonable location, friendly staff My room was too small, no where to sit comfortable in room, room very gloomy because of small window, no balcony or patio which I had specificaly requested I allso specifically requested a comfortable chair in room. I was required to keep the curtain on the small window closed at all times as the room was on the ground floor, therefore people in the pool and passing the window were constantly peering in to the room, for these reasons I was forced to move to a diffrent hotel after four days, which ruined my holiday. I also felt the hotel was overpriced for the size of the room I occupied, and general state of the room. The carpet was well used and not that clean, the Bathroom door did not fit and would not shut, in general I felt that the hotel neaded to be upgraded to justify even a two star rating. I base my comments specificaly on the room I occupied.
Swimming pool. Air conditioning. Our room had no view. Bed uncomfortable.
easy to find, and easy to park the car room was not enough confortable
Staff was kindly. Unfortunately not much communication. To small room without any closet ! Not clean enough and a very dirty stairs in the room !! Considering this not enough value for the money.
The hotel was basic and what you would expect for a 2 star, so reasonably priced for the area and time of year, it was good as a late night arrival and an early morning leave, the staff were helpful and friendly, the room was suitable for a family of 4. Did feel a bit seedy or that it attracted the wrong type of people as they gave you the TV remote when you checked in and you had to return it when you left, no facility for early morning check out or breakfast as everything was closed with shutters until 8am. The room was quite dated and you could smell the drains, which was still evident in winter so imagine it would be quite bad in summer.
Extremely nice room, extremely clean and clean smelling! Cost of breakfast was in line with other hotels, but more was offered - we were even asked if we would like them to prepare a scrambled or fried egg over the typical boiled egg option always available. Loved the ease and convenience of the spa facilities available on site. Staff was very friendly and were very helpful in answering our many questions.
Beautiful new hotel. Staff provided us with sandwiches at our arrival even though the restaurant was not open. Walking distance to the beach as well as golf. Great food markets next door.
The location to the beach was great. It was very peaceful on the golf course.
Very clean.........friendly staff; superb rooms with terrace. Close proximity to golf course. Really good. Typical of "new" thinking in French hotels. Don't include breakfast in the room rate and then charge an exorbitant rate. 16 euros each per day would have added 156 euros to stay for 5 days. Plus discount on golf course was a bit "tight"
Towels, robes and carpets are very worn and should be replaced.
very charming, very relaxed, comfortable atmosphere
excellent indoor pool paying for an average breakfast on top of an expensive room charge
The hotel has a beautiful courtyard that all the rooms open onto. The indoor swimming pool was excellent! The breakfast was great. The restaurant next door served very good food and wine. There was a large group in the hotel who spent the night running and jumping into the outdoor pool. The night desk person was unable to stop their rude behavior. The hotel gave us free breakfast and a reduced rate for the noise and bother.
Great place but a little pricey... Have stayed in nicer hotels for cheaper. Otherwise everything was good!
The continental breakfast was preetty good. The pool was well maintained and kept clean. As you would expect, the rooms were made up on a daily basis. I enjoyed my stay No
Nice hotel, rooms with airco although the hotel has only 3 stars, friendly staff, quiet neighborhood and at 5 min. walking distance located from famous center / port high price for a 3-star hotel, no breakfast included for that price.
quiet area. problematic location when you don't have a car. too expensive.
air-conditioning, sound proofing, working internet connection, proper draining in the bathtubs, the hotel was supposed to be English-spoken but French was the only language everyone spoke except from one employee, who wasn't always available at the front desk... Definitely not worth its money.
staff was very helpful and friendly bathroom and bedroom were clean but only standard for the money we paid...perhaps during off season might be a better value
Free, easy parking. Weak air conditioning, away from the beach, staff don't speak English, terrible internet connection, way too expensive for what is offered. Much worse than nearby hotels like Capao.
Friendly efficient, helpful reception staff and great breakfasts. We also really enjoyed the really clean swimming pool after cycling and the location of the Helios at such easy walking distance from Cap d'Agde Portin such a quiet area. Some road noise (which we are sensitive to) and the fact that the room was not insulated, so the wall and ceiling heated up during sunny afternoons and released this heat into the bedroom during the evening. These are minor in comparison to the positive comments.
alean confort and excellent staff
We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment which was really big, with a kitchen, living room and a terrace were we could have dinner in the summer. The city is within walking distance. We stayed for 3 nights and they never cleaned the apartment while we were there nor taken out the garbage. There was no cleaning equipment either, so lucky we only stayed there for 3 nights and it was clean upon check in. They changed the towels daily.
Very friendly staff, very good position (in front of the port),nice and clean rooms
bathroom clean staff very good did not have knowledge of transport
Centre of resort and very convenient for all the amenities
The hotel is in easy walking distance of the holiday resort of Cap d'Agde. The room we had was spacious and quiet, with excellent air conditioning. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Good service, nice rooms. 5 min walk to the beach, parkingplace near the hotel. Too small breakfast.
excellent staff. Extremely helpful! I wish there had been a fridge in the rooms
Very friendly & helpful staff. A functional, clean hotel. Good location for the town. Parking opposite for a cost or free 500m up the road!
At first, we were given a terrible hotel room, it was smoked very much, uncomfortable, dirty, the only good thing there was well equipped bathroom. Also there were very noisy neighboors. Then we asked to remove us, and our second room was really different from ex one. If was magnificient: there was a second floor, big, very big balcony (it was on the highest floor of the house) with beautiful sight, wide bathroom with little nice window, big wardrobe. Besides, room's number is 50, it is for five people. I reccomend this one strongly, I must suppose, that this is the best room in the whole hotel! Look up
The staff were very friendly and helpfUL. The breakfasts were of good quality and everything was fresh.Would stay again.
Hotel run by the owners. They were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. There were no tea making facilities in the room but they compensated for this by bringing tea to the room in the morning.Breakfast was also good value. They do not do evening meals but then you know this when you book
Quiet area, nice staff We have never seen so many bans in a hotel: it is forbidden to eat in your room, it is forbidden to use own electrical appliances, it is forbidden to set something in the minibar. Beds were little bit hard and the design of our room resembled a hospital
Very helpfull and friendly staff, clean rooms and quite location
Hotel was well equipped, clean and comfortable, staff excellent Whilst the staff were excellent they either did not speak english or chose not to, however they seemed to understand my limited efforts of french, so if you're staying there you'll need two things, some french and a car the location is a bit remote (only a bit remote)
Pretty and nice hotel with very fruendly staff.
The hotel is right next to the beach and there are restaurants and handy convenience stores within 50mts. Very comfortable beds and very clean. Excellent beach for families. Breakfast pleasant but looks overpriced. Pool is shared with apartments so there are no sunbeds and does not welcome to stay in it.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful, close to beach and restaurants Location was packed with appartment blocks
Clean, quiet. Staff courteous to our very limited French
Friendly personal, clean rooms, free parking and wi-fi internet No restaurant in the hotel, noise from other rooms
Potentially a nice hotel very well positioned This hotel is badly in need of updating and extensive redecoration , the staff were poorly trained and inexperienced. Too much regulation in terms of bar/restaurant facilities.
Hotel staffs were very friendly and helpful. Love the rooms is a good size with balcony. Hotel facilities are great with gym room & Jacuzzi. The swimming pool is open even though not much guest in the hotel using them. The hotel location is very quiet and close to the beach. not much variety for buffet breakfast
It was very close to the beach , quite good chambers , the staff was quite helpfull
Hotel Capao is a good 3-star hotel. The service was friendly and helpful. The room was simple but clean, and the bathroom was functional. They have inexpensive Internet, free beach towels, and plenty of free parking at the beach parking lot immediately next to the hotel. The buffet breakfast was OK. There are no room safes, but the safes at reception were practical. The biggest minus is that they don't have an elevator or bell service, so you need to carry your luggage up and down the stairs.
The bathroom was in terrible shape: tiles broken and needing repair, shower force so hard that the shower head would not stay on the wall and sprayed all over the room. Unsanitary and unhealthy mess! No elevator and very long walks to the room up and down stairs, bad for both older people and families with small children. Restaurant prices extrememy high! We dined elsewhere.
It was next to the sea and they gave you towels for the beach,. The noise of the dog in the room opposite!
Nature and beach Restoran facilities and prices
The seaside situation suited our needs. The staff at reception were particularly helpful. The breakfast facilities and service were good. A local bus service was reasonably close. The dinner menu was too slanted on seafoofs - only limited choice of cooked meat, and no choice of chicken or turkey. There were several steps up to reception and to our bedroom, with no railings at the entrance - problems for octogenarians. The room booked overlooked a car-park. and was some distance from reception, so we paid extra to move. We would recommend the hotel for young people and families, but we were roughly twenty years older than the oldest other guests.
Excellent Reception Staff. Bar/Restaurant on nice clean quiet beach - again excellent staff and service! No lift, room safe,12e breakfast-poor value.Evening Dinner service slow. Closed Wed without warning-very few good restaurants near if walking.
Location to the beach and the restaurant was first class but very expensive The rooms were very poor quality with poor showers and ours had a dirty bathroom, quite noisy at night as well
calm quiet and relaxing
Great location with easy free parking. Has a nice pool, hot tub and deck. Large room with good bedding and nice modern bathroom. No English TV channels though advertised.
the wether only frence channels on tv except 1 german, eurosport and cnn.not alowed to get some ice blocks on the room very childes, distance beach mutch more and you have to pay entry
Friedliness of staff. Cleanliness. Comfort. Lack of choice for breakfast.
peaceful --- good service and good warmed pool not a complaint-- but i think it was on expensive side for 3* [but i do not know the general prices for the area]---- but on whole a good experiance
In a quiet location with small swimming pool Upgraded to a privilege room with its own decked terrace. This was fulol of dead foliage and in our 4 day stay was not swept once. This was contained a small plastic table with 2 chairs without cushions. Although there was a bar area adjacent to the pool the hotel is unable to provide any food AT ALL during the day. Breakfast expensive and no fresh fruit provided. Parking expensive.
Small size, lovely reception/lobby & pool, patio, bar eating area w/ spa. Staff helpful w/ directions to activities etc. As room was just cleaned before our arrival had a bit of strong cleaning chemical odor. We opened doors etc. but outside temp was a scortcher!
Peaceful, restful, location. friendly, helpful, accomodating yet easygoing staff. An evening meal/lunch option would be good to encourage staying poolside all day. Which is lovely! No good without a car really as not near to any restaurants/ amenities. (good 20 min walk). Sweet and stylish. Felt like it could have been your own home.
Attention to detail, a very helpful staff, comfortable and relaxing hotel. La Bergerie du Cap a place to return to.
The staff were generally helpful and friendly.
our overnight stop at the hotel was very convenient and comfortable,we had a good meal and would use the hotel again if flying to Beziers
God facilities for diner and breakfast None
Overall there was little to complain about given that the Hotel fits into the "General Commercial Budget" range, Shower was exceptionally powerful and good. Restaurant Good. Staff cheerful in the main There was confusion at reception. We had booked a twin bedded room and at first were shown a double room. I had a little difficulty getting Reception to agree that I had a confirmation showing exactly what we had booked. As the Hotel was very busy , there was a problem giving us what we had booked, but eventually all was sorted
Your staff kind and helpful The evening meal seemed pricey
Standard Campagnille hotel in quit hotel area.Good for overnight stay. Room price on bill was different from Bookings.com price, but revised after my comment.
The Campanile is adjacant to the motorway and easy to locate. The staff are very courteous and the restaurant offers good food. This is the second time we have visited and we will visit again.
Convenience from Motorway Did not have childrens facilities as advertised. (Main reason I chose it)
Generally a fair enough price. Helpful staff and a nice patio to sit and have drinks/meals. A little distant from the city of Beziers. This is a good 90 minutes walk away, (we did it twice!!). The weekend we visited, Beziers had a very, very limited taxi service so location is a problem. We has a triple room which was very cramped for 3 adults to function in.
Extra cost for underground parking and breakfast served in open area on plastic patio furniture
The location and the environment is excellent. The hotel is nice, clean and comfortable. The basement parking is a very good thing in this city.
1. Friendly staff 2. Not expensive 1. Unpleasant smell in the hotel and in rooms (which goes away when you keep the window open for a while) 2. No soap in the bathroom, but lots of bath foam instead... 3. Only three French channels on TV. Would be nice to have at least one tv channel in English or one in German. 4. A double room should have one queen size bed, but not two single beds put together.
Location, friendly staff A bit pricy
Nice big room. Friendly reception staff. Good location.
very nice hotel, friendly staff, large and confortable room with a balcony, we enjoy our choice view over the marina, the best adress on Cap d' Agde nothing and we will return there
Very friendly staff. Secure underground car parking. Table and chairs in room. Balcony, though a bit tiny. Well placed for shops and restaurants. Good insulation, ie didn't hear much noise from other occupants or traffic. Air con would have been good though a floor standing fan was provided. A fixed shower would have been nice instead of a hand held one and no shower screen or curtain. Difficult to get out of bath.
Really friendly helpful service. Attractive comfortable rooms
The owners are wonderful and the location was great, right on the prom and only a few blocks from the beach
Enjoyed and would stay again. Pillows too hard
Quiet, yet central to all local facilities, a short work. None
Good location, clean rooms, nice poolside breakfast area. Rooms a liitle small, a little dated.
Friendly and helpful staff. Spotlessly clean. Good location for walking to marina, beach and resturants. Good breakfasts
I liked the access from the hotel to the marina it was well located and we enjoyed the walk. I did not like the colour scheme in the bedroom.
Friendly family run hotel. Close to all amenities. Air conditioned and comfortable and clean Room was small and no food served except breakfast. Bar was also very scantily stocked.
friendly, helpful staff
It was a very relaxed place to stay, owners very friendly and made us welcome. This hotel is ideally located to the fabulous beach, just yards away from the hostel, so able to just leave the car in their car park and just walked to all the amenities which were nearby. The hotel was a bit on the 'tired' side, could do with some modernisation but this did not hamper the fact that we had a terrific time there. Weather of course was great. Infact, I wish we could have stayed there longer.
good location, nice pool, friendly manager/owner? rooms quite small, but bed comfortable.
pool shower booth and head needed attention
The hotel is 15 minutes walking to the restaurants, and 20 minutes walking to the beach. Out of season it is possible with car. In season no parking place in city and beach. Hotel is fair with private parking. The breakfast is very very poor and the price is 8,00 euro . You receive only bread, croissant, butter, jam, coffee and juice. no ham, no chesse, no eggs, no fruit. Don't come and the end, sommetimes no french bread anymore. Take your breakfast half price on the harbor.
situation, friendly and clean, good value for money pillows uncomfortable
good location nice pool . very limited choice for breakfast
Clean and tidy with a nice little pool and didnt feel crowded even in mid August; although the hotel was full. The manager was friendly and service was good, our room was a family room and didnt have air con so was a bit stuffy at night in the high heat. The hotel is about 10 mins from the beach by car, it is located in central Vias. The breakfast was great value at 6 euros and had lots of everything self service easy. I would stay again on our family budget. Vias has a great shallow sloping beach ideal for little kids and paddling. No Air Con but it wasnt advertised and is fine as long as you dont have a heat wave in Mid August like we did.
The Owners where very nice and helpfull, the rooms where clean and comfortable.Thank you for a lovely stay !!!
Wonderful small hotel with a beautiful outdoor swimming pool, free wi-fi and free secure gated parking. Hosts speak multiple languages. Rooms at front have balcony that overlooks the pool. Good breakfast for reasonable price. Interesting towns nearby for visit with car. Day boat trips on Canal Du Midi possible nearby. Hosts very accommodating.
It was easy to find. The staff and management were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a very queit area.
The owners of the hotel really went out of their way to make us feel at home, I really couldn't praise the owners highly enough, in particular William, who was always on hand when we needed anything. The hotel itself is very comfortable and has a lovely pool and terrace where you can relax and take in the sun. The food in the hotel was very good in particular the breakfast was great value at 6.
Exactly as I expected: clean, efficient and good value but certainly no frills. We ate in one night and the dinner was excellent and good value.
Friednly staff,good food, comfortble atmosphere
the owners made us very welcome the location is good the pool area is good we had a great stay
An excellent location next to the Mediterranean,a super restaurant and helpful reception who allowed us to check in very early in the day.A bonus to have a terrace ,shared with 4 other rooms but good to have that early evening glass of wine on ! Bathroom a little dated and could do with a re vam-but it was very clean so not a great problem
We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room, we thought it might be a bit 'budget', but was fine
practically on the beach, comfortable, inexpensive, good restaurant, friendly staff, air-conditioning, lcd tv some noise in the evening from a club downstairs - take earplugs just in case
Goood location, it is right on the beach. Took a bus from Beziers, which was about 35 minutes. The bed was not that comfortable, a little to hard. BUT everything was very clean.
We particularly enjoyed the food at dinner. The standard was excellent, and the staff were efficient though unobtrusive.
Simply but comfortably furnished accommodation, great for a budget break, close to Beziers/Cap d'Agde airport, and with friendly, helpful staff. Just a stroll from the historic centre, cafes etc
A nice, friendly, family run hotel in a small town close to the beach of Vias Plage. Ideally located for exploring a lovely area of France. It was nice eating breakfast on the terrace and there is ample parking closeby. It was extremely hot when we stayed and air conditioning would have been useful, however there was a fan in the room.
Friendly staff, nice terrace. Off the beaten track to a small beach town in France with an excellent beach.
Friendly (much more so than the other hotels we stayed on this trip). Very high standard of cleanliness. Great setting for the excellent price, just across the road from the photogenic old town and its market and shops (including internet cafe), with large car park 50m away. Breakfast (including tasty home-made Portuguese jam) on spacious terrace overlooking orchard. Thin walls - we could hear the person next door snoring. No hotel wifi.
