The staff were exceptionally cheerful and helpful, they made our stay fantastic.
Really quiet, tastefully decorated and furnished hotel room, clean
The staff were very welcoming and had lots of good and practical sightseeing information. The ambience was lovely and the location was ideal. We will stay there again. No.
Perfect reception, very nice hotel, charming atmosphere, nice breakfast, the hot chocolate was delicious
It is a beautiful building, with very nice rooms and an excellent staff
The hotel is historic and beautiful. The main hall, stairs and our room gave an insight into how the wealthy would have lived. Peaceful, a lovely inner courtyard, and a balcony from our room. The staff member who met us was excellent. Breakfast was perhaps overpriced.
I felt true hospitality, kindness in dealing with language differences, and genuine pleasure in every contact with the staff. I loved the breakfasts and the conversation with other guest who were repeat users of the hotel. It was wonderful, so I liked everything.
Friendliness of the staff, breakfast No drinks available, no mini bar, too expensive for what you get
Excellent value for money, friendly welcoming staff, would definitely return there.
Great character of the hotel, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, it was easy to park the car and very close to all restaurants etc. Easy access to other villages in Provence. Breakfast was overpriced considering they only charged 5 euros for a dog
Staff were very accomodating and friendly. Excellent breakfest. Parking was difficult to find (not in Hotel).
Restuarant not open during our stay so unable to comment. Would proabably have eaten in the hotel if it had been open.
nothing old poor not comfartable room pay for the parking
Good breakfast (for French hotel standards), good service in general, separate safe place for bicycles, good car parking service. Free public parking is an option. Room could be slightly more modern. Carpentras old town (hotel on the edge of it) itself is not one of the Provence's jewels.
A good value, comfortable, friendly and efficient hotel, a short walk from the centre of Carpentras. It faces a leafy boulevard and the rooms are quiet.
Close to everything I needed on trip. Hotel hosts were very helpful, and generous with their help with local questions and assistance with my needs. Breakfast room/food was varied and had something for everyone. Good service.
Central Location - felt homey Not really. It was all good.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a nice atmosphere about the place.
Very Nice hotel in the city centre of carpentras. Great place to start your vacation and drive arround. Nearby bakery and restaurants. Staff is very helpfull, speaks good english and friendly. Handy parking service. For a few euro's more upgrade to superior room that overlooks the lovely patio and away from the busy street. If you want to complain, you can allways find something. We found it a pleasent stay and good value for money in compare to french standards. Breakfast is very simple.
Good working airconditioning, which was one of the main reasons to choose this hotel because of the very hot weather in this region. The rooms itself was pretty spacious, except for the bathroom. The personnel was very helpfull and friendly except for one person, who made our stay very unpleasant. The bathroom was below standard.Very small and worn-out.Coming in at 0100 am the owner accused us of making noise and coming in to late. The noise was in fact made by another group of people in front of the hotel. This was not an 5-star hotel, he said. He treated us like a small child. There is more to this story, but I would need more lines for that. Very insulting altogether, he made no excuse the other day. a eviter a tous prix / Don't go here !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Slechte service, onbeschofd personeel.
Spa facilities, swimming pool area and the hotel grounds and decor were very nice. Staff were also very attentive. Free wifi in the bedrooms. My room was very small although I was advised of this when booking so can't complain, there are a couple like this, and based on other reviews, most rooms are larger (although this would cost extra to the 185€ we paid per night). My main issue was the cost of any extras in the hotel. Menu prices and drinks were extortionate even if it has a michelin star. Since it's a good 10 minute drive from Avignon, if you don't have a car, you have to go by Taxi, and for some reason that costed around 25€ each one way journey too, making it an expensive couple of days. Not sure if it's normal, but the taxi drivers seemed to start their meter when they were called by the hotel, so the starting tariff would range from 6.50€ to 8.50€ which isn't great.
We knew this hotel from a previous stay 10 years ago, it was nice to find out that it still matched our expectations. The restaurant as good as ever.
quiteness, close to town centre, spacious garden pool water was not heated and a bit too cold
All the staff were exceptionally polite and helpful, especially the staff at reception, and the restaurant was of a good standard.
Very nice and quiet! Excellent Dinner. Very friendly staff. Secure place and parking ground. Close to Avignon. Will come back...
The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, but once through the doors a large, beautiful courtyard (very well maintained) appears. Nice pool area, and well appointed spa area. Fantastic meal at the restaurant. Very friendly staff. The location is a little "off the beaten path", and you need a car to get anywhere. Overall, a little pricey (both room rate and restaurant).
The staff were very attentive and polite. The layout and facilities in the hotel were lovely and there was a lot of attention to detail. Lovely scented rooms.
The friendliness of the staff and the food was fantastic Need a map to get there!!!
Relaxing, clean and friendly Too expensive by far and poor location
We absolutely loved this hotel! It has lots of Provencial charm and our room was very pretty and spacious. It is the perfect place to stay in Provence if you don't want to be with all the crowds in Avignon center. It is about a 10 minute drive to Avignon and easy access to other areas of the Luberon region. There are no restaraunts nearby so you will need a car for sure. The hotel has wonderful food but is pricey. It has a great outdoor pool, indoor pool with spa, very lush landscaping and beautiful patios. Very attentive service and wonderful personel.
close to restaurants and shopping mall. The front desk counter was friendly and helpful the parking compound was dusty.
Room was good and breakfast was excellent No swimming pool
Friendly staff, cleanliness, excellent value for the cost
Great Service and Food, very rustic and very french Air conditioning did not work very well in the room because of poor design
Standard of hotel A1 100% top notch, as too were the staff. Fantastic location, ditto premises and attention to detail. Totally perfect in every way, could not have been better. We will return.....
A charming inn rich with history. The grounds are beautiful and one of the best bathrooms we have had in France. A lovely place if money is no object, although we did get three nights for the price of two on the booking.com site. The meals were over the top expensive. We were seated in the dining room and the owner came in and told my husband he should be wearing a jacket for dinner. This embarrassing situation could have been avoided if the website had indicated their policy or strong suggestion for dress attire. Because of this, we chose not to eat subsequent meals at the hotel and dined elsewhere.
The hotel is beautiful with excellent grounds. First class restaurant. The air-conditioning in our room did not work which made for a very hot night. Staff were informed but took no action.
The staffs of hotel are very nice and friendly. Dinner was excellent and especially enjoyed to see wine list which had a lot of reasonable priced bordeaux grand vin of good vintage.
Accomodation is very complete, staff is professional. The ambiance is nice (manor and chapel). Swimming pool relatively big. The elevator in the chapel is very slow and the carpet in it has to be cleaned. But this is a minor issue.
perfect kitchen and stuff, nice pool and atmosphere
We liked this typical atmosphere one gets in French Hotels et Chateaux, unique in the world. We also liked the central situation in the Provence, close to Avignon, very close to the highway. no complaints
The service was excellent, the food was out of this world (congratulations to the chef), overall the staff was very friendly and helped regarding all our requests. Relaxed atmosphere No, we were very happy. Clients should be aware that although the rooms are very reasonably priced (semi-luxurious, I would say), the restaurant is very expensive. But it was well worth it. The food was stupendous.
The knowledge and helpfulness of the staff about food, wine and the area were outstanding. The setting and the garden and terrace were beautiful. The mattress was too hard.
hotel design and rooms are somewhat interesting, the room we had a small garden and direct access to the swimming pool.
overall building look, concept, garden, heritage (marquis de Sad mansion) the room (suite) was indeed very basic. although the furniture looked antique, room was spacious & overlooking beautiful Provence scenery, the overall room interior & facilities were very basic indeed (unpainted wood, old stone floor without carpets - I am now sure whether marquis would be using this floor in his bedroom :), very unconfortable bathtube - every time after the shower half of the water was in the bathroom and then in the room itseld
Nice relax garden, good parking place, nice building, rooms where decorated in a nice way. Hotel is situated very central so that you can do a lot of day trips in the neighbourhood, with a bike or better with car. The restaurant serves very good food but you need to make a reservation in advance. The hotel is situated in the middle of a small village (you have to like that), a lot of noise in the rooms coming from outside during the night, waking you up, if we where there more nights we certainly went to another place. The staff could be more friendly. To expensive for what you get. Breakfast cost a extra 17 euro but is not worth it. When sitting on the terrace we had to wait extremely long for service. Hotel is ok but not fine-tuned enough and certainly not for that price.
The hotel - un chateau - was super beautiful, the room was also exquisite, the swimming pool area was very good and the reception was perfect: the lady spoke very well English and gave us all the necessary information. The dinner was excellent.
Wonderful garden, friendly staff and the atmosphere of this historic place Wifi was very slow in the room
Peaceful, well appointed and helpful staff Nothing
Wonderful ambience and decor
Beautiful house and light traditional decor. Breakfast was 17 euros, you need to eat a lot of food to get any value at this price. What do you do if you just want a coffee and a croissant? Some hotels now offer an express brakfast like this at 7 or 8 euros. For business people it is a perfect solution to this problem.
Good location for our cycling trip to Mont Ventoux and excellent service. Staff very helpful and storage of bikes no problem. Some rooms with balconies and a lovely shaded garden to relax and enjoy. A most pleasant stay.
The location is convenient. The hotel staff was nice but inefficient and unable to communicate clearly among themselves. We have changed twice time of room in 2 nights.
The breakfast is really good, the staff is friendly and helpful and there's a very nice asian restaurant about 3 mminutes from the hotel. The breakfast has to be good because it costs 10EUR.
The staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean. This was good basic accommodation. The bathroom was a bit shoddy, it had rust in the bath and a large gap between the bath and floor - but it was usable.
it was a little cold in the room and it smelled of tobacco
low key and easy to stay there bit more servcie at breakfast might be helpful
Courteous receptionist, plentiful breakfast, secure parking available, clean standard throughout hotel The air condition was broken and this meant opening the window to admit traffic noise.
clean and tidy with helpful staff
No one was there to greet us when we arrived at 19:00 on a Sunday evening. We called the number posted on the door and were told to go in and take our room keys. The hotel was very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast buffet was very nice. This was my second stay here and I would stay again plus recommend to others.
helpful staff, fine dining I pictured the hotel as being more secluded than it actually was and with a view
Nice and clean hotel, and the rooms are fine. Pool is nice, and the area is quiet. No internet in the rooms, no aircondition, no minibar/refrigiator in the room, and poor service at the pool area during the afternoon.
Swimmingpool and tennis was good, they would not speak englisk, so it was a little bit difficult to speak with them.
Nice hospitality. Dificulty in finding the location.
I enjoyed the silence and the style of the building. The location is good for exploring the surrounding villages and nature. We would have preferred to have single beds nxt to ach other as opposed to one 1,5 person bed.
Quiet atmosphere with no noise Concentrates on Gourmet food, wider selection of normal dishes in the menu required
Hotel was in a nice quite location within walking distance of the centre of St Didier. It was an excellent stopping of point on our journey and i would have enjoyed staying longer. we had a large terrace overlooking the pool. The chef obviously cares and we thought the hotel was a very good 3 star standard and very good value for money. Do not agree with the reviewer who complained about the price of wine
Nothing The reception area was a shambles, there was construction going on, the owners children and dog played in the hallways, there was no Wifi in the rooms as advertised. The place was a mess,
Silence, gardens and staffs Due to very weak signal reception, WIFI internet access is not available as described
Away from the centre of the old city, which was packed because of the Avignon Festival. Peace and quiet with rest and relaxation by the swimming pool could be followed by a short drive into the centre and some sight seeing.
Staff was very kind. Make you feel the most important guest in the hotel. The room was clean and nice, exacty as I expected. Breakfast is too expensive.
convenience too many little things were annoying at this hotel 1) canvas chair on my terrace broke as I sat in it, should have been noticed as defective. 2) no light in closet, and closet door hard to open as bed side table in the way 3) toilet room no where near sink, hard to wash hands, 3) restaurant rather grim and food only ordinary (unusual for France) 4) poolside noisy and crowded 5) No newspapers in the morning as at all other good hotels 5) my bath tub and sink dribbled the water in and out...took 35 minutes to fill tub 6) did not clean room until 2:00PM
Everything!! We had eaten at this hotel two years ago, and decided to spend a very special anniversary for one night en route to St Tropez. The room was very comfortable overlooking the beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Food was wonderful, tasty and well presented. A place to return to!
Staff very helpful especially reception.Food was very good aswell. Expensive for the quality of the rooms-the hotel definitely needs to be refurbished and updated. There were no lounges/sitting areas and the restaurant/swimming pool area felt very cramped.Overall very expensive. For some reason my booking (I cancelled and then rebooked at a cheaper rate) didn't reach the hotel-luckily the hotel had a room.We moved after two nights.
We found the hotel to be very relaxing and peaceful. The staff were helpful and the food very good. The only slightly disappointing item was the Breakfast Buffet. Rather limited and unexciting.
