I liked the fridge and coffee maker in the room. The bed was comfortable but too small. There was a mouse trap found behind the TV. I felt that for $--- there should have been NO MICE.And the bed was smaller than a Queen size for two people.
The room was fine - we were only there for one evening and night. The lady in charge (helping out, not the owner) was very pleasant and helpful, and told us about a takeout place, instead of driving back into the town. Poor upkeep - it was clean, but the caulking around the bathtub was in very poor shape, and the control on the air conditioner was broken off - we could have it on high or not at all.
rooms were quaint (actual quilts on beds, etc), spacious, and well equipped. very clean. owners were pleasant, out and about in their yard and made it feel comfortable and small-town approachable. Room had pull out bed in living room, well equipped kitchen (bring your own non stick pan though, we didnt have one!). We have a medium sized dog, they were accepting of us to stay - there is a fairly large "yard" (with a gazebo, cherry trees etc not just grass like a hotel) which backs onto a train track; we were able to take our dog behind the yard near train tracks to use the washroom which I enjoyed (easy to clean and not in sight of other guests) in comparable to hotels. We didnt see a single guest outside the entire time we were there, as a six unit motel it is small enough to feel completely private. Air conditioner is a window unit in the bedroom, so in order to be cool when first arrived you had to have it on full blast for a few hours (which was very loud), on low the remainder of the time continuously, and couldnt *not* have it on as the window doesnt open (due to the air unit); with how hot it gets in Castlegar combined with how small/stuffy it is without windows open you have no choice but to leave the a/c running all day on low. If you are arriving late (as we did, 1am) ask them to turn the unit on for you in advanced, as when we got there it was unbearably hot and stuffy and added an hour to hour night while waiting for it to be tolerable (but still having to fall asleep to it blasting pretty high/loud)
