The welcome, the friendliness of staff and excellent facilities
The friendliness of your staff was excellent. Especially your pool staff(Mick) The service was very good. And i liked the way your staff were patient and tolorent with kids.. The playground could have been better for the children. and because of the amount of children in the hotel there could have been a play area allocated indoors , instead of them running around the bar.
we enjoyed stayin at hotel staff very friendly rooms clean and comfortable went swimming every day there is nothing i didnt like about hotel
lovely setting carvery lunch was poor, put me off having dinner there.
Irish staff - great to see. They were very friendly. Good value Quilted spread on bed was badly stained creating a very bad impression. also white duvet cover underneath quilted spread had lots of black marks. Stain on carpet outside en-suite door. Conference lunch on 21/2/08 was very poor
It was lovely to hear the Irish Voices as this is very rare nowadays-no slur on other nationalities- all the staff were lovely and friendly and enjoyed their work and it showed. I was alone and it was lovely to have so many friendly chats making me feel less isolated. The staff couldn't do enough for me and I thank them for that. Was a little upset when I was having a late evening snack in the bar to see some famalies with young children roaming about - this was due to the parents and their control over their little ones. It would be nice if children were not allowed in this area after 8pm. Bad for the little ones in a 'drinking'enviroment
The staff were enormously helpful, obliging, polite and well trained.
beautiful lake and garden just in front of the hotel, big pool and gym. The Hotel is quite big and more suited for groups. The pool and the gym could do with refurbishment
the relaxing atmosphere there is no comfortable or sheltered area outside to smoke.would not recommend hotel to smoker,s.
Great hotel the rooms, facilities and food were all good very reasonabally priced The TV reception was poor
location of same no heat in bedroom
Convenient location right in the centre of Mullingar
The service was great and staff were very friendly and approachable. I was disappointed with the fact that there was no lift. The bathroom was also very dated and the decor could be modernised.
thank you to all the staff they were really helpfull and very plesent during our stay..
Staff at the reception was excellent The food in the restaurant was also very good The lay out of the Hotel is very attractive I couldn't sleep until 3:30 in the morning with the noise from the disco dancing. It was so loud that it reverberated along the walls of the entire building to probably all rooms (I wasn't even in a room as close to the dancing pub as other rooms were).
Close proximity to everything The lads who where charging and kicking at the front door while we had to wait on the street outside until the Guards cleared them so we could get in.
location, it was very central
The hotels public areas were good. The hotel was busy and had a good athmosphere. Receptionist was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good. The room we were given is not up to the standard I have come to expect. My room in particular desperately needs to be painted and modernised. The curtains on the window were almost threadbare. The bathroom looks like it has not been touched since the 1970's.
it is located in the town centre, the food and service was good as well as the staff
staff were fantastic
The location, the food, the room. All top quality N/A
Great Food and location.
The room was so spacious and clean. No complaints at all.
Staff were very nice, our room got fresh towels every day!!
From the moment I walked in the door I felt welcomed and everything was great. My room was comfortable and the food was good.
The staff were excellent and so helpful. The food was amazing and the dining room staff very professional. Overall a very pleasant experience A robe in the room would be nice especially if using leisure facilities. Also I detest shower curtains and cannot understand why they are used. They are so un-hygenic
Great lo location, rooms great with very comfortable beds. The food in the hotel was good value for money
the hotel room was fabulous and the staff were very friendly
Good value and excellent location in the centre of Mullingar make this an excellent choice for the business traveller. Good road links to Dublin and the west. Reasonable bar food.
hotel central. dining room and grounds lovely.
The restaurant was not open on the Sunday night.
i only stayed one night but the room was very comfortable and the staff very helpful
central location. very good value for money No automatic checkout
the relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, good food. we also met the owner on numerous occassions very friendly and welcoming A lovely experience throughout our stay and will be back again Cannot fault it
rotary cleaner in the car park at 7.15 am on a Sunday morning and boring buffet breakfast with dry eggs
Clean, efficient, very nice food no complaints
Room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Chinese restaurant was excellent Carpark is small but free
Late check out of 12 noon and all-day breakfast! The room and en-suite were spotlessly clean, much appreciated. Not enough off-street parking.
I really appreciated the early check in as I had travelled quite a distance that morning. Also having Wi Fi internet access in the bedroom was excellent. Very little really, maybe just the noise coming from the road and also the train nearby.
The staff went out of their way to help. We arrived at 7pm on Sunday, food is only served up to 4pm in the hotel. You had advertised Continential Breakfast at €4.95 and Full Irish at €9.95 but it was an a la carte menu served in the lounge/bar
Nice friendly staff, clean warm room and hotel situated right in the heart of the town. Although the breakfast was tasty I thought it was a bit pricey
Flexibility with breakfast and checkout time not like larger hotels where you can be turned away if arriving late for breakfast. Renovation finishing touches need to be completed such as wardrobe and windows needed handles. Room was a little cold.
Very friendly staff, clean, quiet room. Internet signal was poor so we had to use foyer.Excellent breakfast. Poor internet signal
The only thing I did not like about your hotel is that we did not have long enough to enjoy the excellent faccilities that are available in this beautiful location,
The McCormacks were very welcoming and helpful. I recomend this BB
excellent accomodation with very pleasant and helpful staff. Have booked it again for this weekend nothing
The building was good, the farm setting was excellent, close to a main road. No Problems
Excellent food and service.
Great hosts and excellant Irish breakfast. Room always clean. Having a shower is OK but we prefer to have the occasionally bath.
Quiet, but very convenient for main road. Pleasant country ambience. No hot water for shower, though ran it for 5 mins, in morning.
Attention to detail- whether it be upkeep of the grounds or the great food. The great ambience of the building/grounds led to a very enjoyable stay.
Welcome, location, food, quiet, comfort. None
This was without the worst experience I've had in 20 years of staying in hotels. I want to premise this review by saying that the staff were very helpful and courteous. Their talents would be suited to a better establishment. 1. This is a pub with b&b, not a hotel. 2. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment. I rang upon booking to make sure that noise wouldn't be an issue. I was told that the apartment was at the back of premises and shouldn't interfere with us. our apartment and b&b rooms were situated directly off a courtyard at the back of the pub. this was also their smoking room. Consequently we had 30 people directly outside our door 'til 2am. My 3 kids were terrified with the offensive language and people falling against the (glass) door. When the area was eventually cleared, we had the noise of the staff cleaning up until 3am. 3. Our apartment was damp where the heating obviously hadnt been on in months. 4. No hot water in the apartment, had to ask and then the staff put on the heating. This still didnt give us hot water. The ad on Booking.com is misleading. Avoid this dump at all costs!
the location in the centre of Oldcastle, close to good pubs, beautiful countgryside, interesting historical sites and proximity to Dublin city, less than one hours drive on exvellent roads. the rooms were large, well furnished and comfortable, with the excellent bathroom. staff were hellpful and friendly. we could not find a fault. the breakfast was cooked to order, the coffee excellent and overall wonderful value. Highly recommended.
