Overview

Occupying two landmark buildings in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood, The Robey Chicago, a Member of Design Hotels, sits at the six-way intersection of Milwaukee, Damen, and North Avenues in the Northwest Tower known as the Coyote Building and the adjoining old Hollander Fireproof Warehouse.

The 89 guest rooms range from 215 to 675 square feet and offer amenities such as rooftop pool access and complimentary Wi-Fi. With an interior design described as minimally chic and industrially raw, to mimic the contrasting Art Deco and warehouse styles of the original buildings, the hotel is stunningly built with hardwood floors and walls of glass to contrast polished concrete and exposed brickwork. All 69 of the Tower Rooms in the Coyote Building offer king sized beds, apart from the Landmark Queen rooms, which feature queen sized beds. The 20 multi-bed Annex Loft rooms all offer a lounge area, a workspace, a bathroom with a shower, and city views.

The property lures curious gourmands with modern American cuisine at the Café Robey, and summer-inspired American dishes at Cabana Club, boasting a rooftop pool and terrace. Cocktails are served at The Up Room rooftop cocktail lounge, where guests can gaze out over Chicago’s ever-changing cityscape.

The Robey Chicago offers meeting facilities including the Panorama suite and bar, which offers a 180-degree view of Chicago’s ever-changing skyline and is well suited for more sober sophistication. Guests can also host events at Robey Hall, inside the old warehouse, a multifunctional event space epitomizing Chicago’s young entrepreneurial spirit.

Pros (+) When checking into the Robey, it was mentioned that we were there to celebrate my birthday. After about 30 minutes of getting settled into the room there was a knock on the door and it was the staff member who had checked us in. He was delivering a bottle of wine and birthday card to me. Little touches like that are so much appreciated. Would stay there every time i go to Chicago.
