Perfect for an overnight stop. Clean with good facilities and helpful staff. Most impressed.
We arrived before check-in but made use of the communal games room for an hour until reception opened when we could get the keys to our room, which the kids were very happy about. Our room was simple but spotless. Very clean and warm and plenty of communal toilets/washrooms available. Very friendly and helpful staff, and only a short walk to the local shops/cafes/pubs in the village.
I can't say there was anything I didn't like about this place. This was the first time we had stayed in a youth hostel and everything was as expected, if not better. Very impressed. In fact, my husband is going back up to stay there this weekend with some friends.
We had reservations about our family staying in a 6-bed dorm together especially staying in bunk beds. But the room was spacious, warm and the bunk beds were surprisingly comfy.
We did like the fact that there were no sign posts to the place. We didn't like the fact that one of the shared toilets made a terrible noise on flushing - something that could be fixed easily. Otherwise all good for the price.
Everything you’d expect from a YHA
Staff were very helpful and polite. Good nights sleep in a comfy bed and a hearty breakfast. Great value!
