Very nice view. Interior engineering was super. Personal was super.
Parking is expensive. This wasn't planed. And I wasn't informed when hotel was changed. Smell in the room wasn't good , but open window helped, because temperature regulator wasn't making any changes. Shower wasn't cleen.
Location is good. Room was quiet. Bathroom spacious and bright. Closet space was more than adequate. Free wine during happy hour in evenings. Staff were friendly
Did not have a room with 2x twin beds like I’d booked. Charged for an upgrade to a room with a bigger bed - but we were friends travelling, so I had to sleep on a pull out sofa bed. To be fair, they refunded the upgrade cost - but should not have asked for it in the first place after the mistake. Plug sockets by the bed did not work. TV did not even turn on. Unpleasant sewage smell on occasion coming from toilet area. Shower head did not stay in place.
The Avenue hotel in Copenhagen is amazing from the charming old building, to their ambiance, scents and breakfast.
We made a reservation for the Avenue Hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark, for two nights 13th and 14th of March. We honored our reservation and on the evening of 13th when we returned from our stroll around the city, we were approached by the front desk assistant who said "I don't know if you heard the latest news..." to which we replied no. She explained that Denmark officials announced they were closing borders and suggested we go upstairs and check online for ways to return home. To which I asked what happens because we have another night booked with the hotel and she replied the hotel would close and we could take it up with her colleague and her manager - her manager she said would come in at 9 a.m. the following morning - about refunding because the hotel would close and she appologized repeatedly for the situation. We went upstairs and within the hour of having no other news except for thelocal.dk which specified "Denmark is closing borders. Travel to and from the country will close midday Saturday 14th"; we understood very little from the TV press conference using google translate and together with what the front desk assistant told us, we booked a hotel in Malmo for the night of 14th-15th. Because there was a lot of guests noises on the hallway - luggage rolling and people talking about leaving the city - I called the front desk at 00:20 to ask if it would be ok to leave in the morning, if they would allow us to leave the country and the reply was yes, just bare in mind that the train stations, airport and buses may be crowded so I asked would 7 a.m. be ok then, she repeated that it should be ok.
This hotel is located in a beautiful red brick building with turrets. Unfortunately, I got the room without a turret, but you might be luckier. Everything was really good, basically, all you can expect from a decent hotel. The 24/7 reception desk is a big plus, also there was a free wine, if I remember correctly. It's a bit out of the way, but the neighborhood is really nice, so it's fine.
Good location, close to the city center and main sights, cozy room, tasty breakfast, and just a lovely terrace. Everything was good!
