The room was clean. Large rooms, love the fridge size. Bed was comfortable. The Staff were awesome! We loved the Sports Bar and the Bistro. Food was excellent. The place is still great to stay at but it is starting to age. It wasn't booked out even though the Hotel was busy. The rooms are comfy but the bed was a little old by feel. However, it is still one of the best showers to be had. Convenient for our destination & good price. great location and have stayed on and off for 6 months plus, great venue. Bed was comfy and the shower lovely and hot. Nice and quiet, room very clean, the bistro meals are great, good cold beer, very happy. All the facilities except the rooms are abit outdated and the carpets could be changed as rooms smelt like an old pub but that’s to be expected with carpets being so old. Staff were exceptional and very accommodating. Location, and the sports bar and restaurant. The space the facilities the bedrooms were nice along with the beds were comfortable the contents in the kitchen was great. Venetian blinds broken/dirty. Felt unsafe late at night. Dirty and needs updating. Rooms are in need of a good refurbishment as they are very outdated and in poor condition. Old taps, broken Venetians and cracked plaster. Shower over the bath which is very hard to get in and out of when you are aged. Microwave and cerial bowls and cerial. I was un happy that my room card wouldn’t work at 2am in the morning after one of the staff members “fixed” the problem I had walked back to my room in the rain and It still didn’t work, I had to walk from the upper level back to reception to finally have it fixed. No complaints. All good. Noisy bar fridge which I had to turn off. Mattresses well used with deep impressions from people sleeping in them. Probably need to be changed over or at least rotated regularly. I started in The motel. Was very Shabby. Dreadful state. Worst place i’ve stayed in three weeks in Australia in terms of decor and upkeep. . Paint peeling off walls. Doors with metal plates added where I assume damage was. Cracks and chips around sills and ledges. Just scruffy. Is about 30 years over due some big renewal/ decorating. Bed was co,eh and it was clean, so cleaners doing a good job. Just management need to step up . On a separate note the first room I was given I couldn’t go in as it stank of cigarette smoke, despite being a non smoking from. The staff did move me. was a bit disappointing that I can't get my key card closer to my phone or the door won't open. ?. Just old and dated. It was not 4 star The bed was a small double not a queen size and mattress was a little too firm Holes in walls and could do with a refresh Power point in bathroom was not working had to use main room power point. Could do with a bit of an update. Small bed. Rooms are a bit dated, but did the job! Nothing I didn't like about it. Did not have use for the facilities they offer but they look like they would be a fun night out for a dinner party or a few drinks with the gang. The Motel part . It really could do with a facelift. The "Bates Motel" feel does give the place character BUT not much comfort. Let's retire and get rid of the nickname "The Dirty Dorset". The rooms were old. Lots of smokers of cigarettes around, lots of noise all night. The room was very old & I don’t mind old but it wasn’t very clean. it had a double bed not a Queen. The room needs refurbishment. Was in an adjoining room, with a doorway separating the rooms. Could hear the people next door talking and their TV clear as day. Not to mention him snoring their head off all night. Absolute no sound proofing at all. Horrible night sleep as a result. Heater didn't work to well and was noisy when turned up. the room was disgusting, could not get the smell out of my clothes upon leaving. the room has seen better days and needs to be tidied up asap. I saw a couple of other rooms in much better condition and smell.
