The staff was incredibly accomidating. The hotel.has a bike was station and allows guests to store their bikes to their rooms for safety purposes. The beds were very comfortable, breakfast was amazing, and the hot tub and common areas were great. For mountain bike guests the experience could be improved if there was a secure bike valet, that only staff had access. Guest would drop their bikes with a staff member and have their bikes retrieved by a staff member. This would keep the rooms cleaner and ensure the safety of riders bikes. This is done in other bike destinations like whistler.
Location and views Furnishings very scruffy. Car park rough. Reception barely polite. Bar staff poor. Overall disappointing stay.
We came to check the area out reay for ski season Breakfast, when we arrived down at 8.30am there was very little left to eat and no where to sit so we left with just a coffee
The location was great. The staff was amazing. They were more than helpful and accommodating to all of our needs. They really went above and beyond even on simple requests for us. They were courteous and never once had a bad attitude no matter what time of day it was. Matthew and James were great in particular (be it checking us in at 3:30am or just making sure everything was going well as we were on our way out for the day). The hotel is also very open to suggestions and feedback to help improve the stay for everyone.
Staff was excellent
We were wanting to visit Killington and arrived in mid-Septmber. The leaves had not changed yet but Fall was in the air and it was beautiful. The lodge was very nice with large rooms and spacious community areas. The hot tub was amazing holding over 20 guests with two fires nearby. There were not many guests so we had it to ourselves. They have a movie room and played recent releases each night at 8pm with popcorn. This must be an excellent place to stay during ski season.
Welcoming and comfortable.
I liked Steve, owner and his assistant. They were helpful at providing background information about the area, places to visit, very knowledgeable. The breakfast table and coffee were ideal. It is very close to Killington. Very quiet at night. Wifi was not the strongest but than we were not staying there to read our email or play games. There is plenty to do outside of the room and inn.
Staff was EXTREMELY pleasant and welcoming! VERY clean room and comfortable beds. It was very dated decor, bathrooms were small
The hotel staff was amazing the owners were extremely friendly helped with any questions I had about the area and provided one of best experiences iv had on vacation
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was great for our needs. I felt like it was expensive for the time of year and accommodations. It was after the height of ski season and before summer rates.
Parking and location Room didn't have air conditioning
It was a little small and only had a community refrigerator but still very nice place to stay
The atmosphere was all about service and customer satisfaction. We were always greeted with kindness and concern that our needs were being met. Parking was perfect and the hotel layout was easy to navigate and was well marked. The food was excellent. It would have been nice to get a newly updated room, but our room was clean and pleasant just the same. I would have spent more time in the common room had the fire been burning more frequently.
Very homy. Staff very personable. Jacuzzi. Less than 10 minutes away from the mountain. My room REEKED of weed; fresh weed. Not that I hate weed or anything, just didn't want to experience it to that moment. I'm sure if I brought it to the staffs attention I would have gotten a different room though. Didn't want to cause any trouble.
Friendly staff, self-baked waffles included with breakfast. Easy to find, quiet. TV is up high facing the bed. Ideally lower and facing the table and chairs in the corner for those staying up late to watch.
Beautiful hotel with incredibly friendly staff willing to talk about great places to enjoy in the local area. Really authentic feel to the hotel. Community centered as microwave and refrigerator were in the main lobby. Beautiful woodwork and ATD :) Only downfall was the bed was a bit uncomfortable and lopsided.
The owners are clearly in love with the area and are very enthusiastic about sharing it. Very personable. Cute, cozy room.
Lovely bed and breakfast. Mike, Barb and their dog Burt were awesome hosts. They were very accommdating and wanted to make sure we were relaxed and had a good time. Like other bed and breakfasts, there's a shared bathroom. But you only share with one other guest room since they only two suites at any given night. The other room was empty, so we actually had the bathroom to ourselves.
Connie at the front desk was a sweetheart. She couldn't do enough for us and was more than accommodating. The family room / game room was pretty cool and the huge open fireplace was quite nice. My friend Adam spent his day and night writing his book by it. I'd give them 10 out of 5 stars if I could
nice facilities staff is not friendly
The hotel is a good deal for the price. We were up there for a 5K run and just needed a clean comfortable place to stay at a good rate and this place did just that. The best part were the managers. They were so nice and treated us like family.
Friendly Staff, good location and great price. I really felt welcomed and that if I had any needs they would have been taken care of. Any dislikes I may write does not take away from the fact that this is a decent place to stay when you do not want to spend an arm and a leg for lodging. The motel had an old musty smell that I assumed came from years of moisture of guests returning from skiing. We had arrived in the summer, so I was sort of surprised at the odor. The elevator also sounds like it needs a tune up and my fiance and I decided the stairs were the best bet for our stay.
Nice, clean, staff is very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast here is something else, just simply amazing. And very close to Killington.
Comfortable old style hotel in a resort area - quite relaxing - but the common areas are getting a bit worn. Like a comfortable chair.
The hotel is very run down with shabby chairs in the room and a very uncomfortable bed. The limited staff were very friendly, but unable to be everywhere. The breakfast was awful and served on all plastic plates. Very bad value for money. At a cost of $150 a night (including taxes) , it was well overpriced for a dark and dismal hotel.
Room was very clean and had a fireplace. Very cozy with a old style, rustic atmosphere. Also very spacious. Enjoyed very much! The only downside was the water pressure in the shower was very low and the bed was a little on the firm side.
The hotel staff, location and price. The hotel was old and outdated.
This is not a 3-star hotel... my sister and i check out a day early and went home b/c we were so unhappy with the accomodations and would have rather driven at night after skiing to sleep at home then spend another night in the hotel. We asked for a refund but the staff at the front desk was very unhelf and unknowledgeable and said she couldn't do that for us, point blank. I would not recommend this hotel to my friends. Please see above answer
Staff was friendly and helpful Room smelled heavily when we arrived. Probably carpet cleaner etc but it was strong and of putting a little. We didn't spend much time in the space so it wasn't a big deal.
The service was excellent. The decor was countryside and was pleasant. Could have been a bit more lighted.
the room was not what the internet described. there was a smell of sewage in the hallways. the fireplace didnt work. the bathrooms were tiny for a three hundred dollar room for two days
why would anyone ever stay here more then once. this is the worst place i have ever stayed and i have traveled in 3rd world countries. the mangement was so rude to everyone staying in the hotel like it was a palace instead of run down, smelly, motel. i would have rather splept outside then in our smelly, moldy room. the pool water was a shade of green and the bathrooms were gross.
Everything No ac
Everything! My son a and I had a wonderful time. Thank you, Staff! It rained on the second day.
The breakfast was very good and the staff was friendly. The heat was on all the time and the room was hot when we arrived and stayed warm most of the evening. No fan to cool down room. The bed was not comfortable and should be replaced
Our son is a student at GMC in the Resort program @ Killington. He was working so we wanted to spend Christmas with him. Our room was a King Suite so we had ample room to set up a tiny tree and open presents together. Would have preferred a room mountainside. Was expensive for a one night stay but was the only game in town for one night. Breakfast was a wonderful buffet, had everything you could ask for in a clean, bright dining room. Wish we had had dinner there too! Very cozy bar and lounge area with massive stone fireplace. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was very hospitable. Didn't get a chance to use the pool. Would stay there again. Thanks for helping making Christmas special!
The proprietor of this establishment tried to charge us for every little item. She also asked people where they were going when they were in the hall. It was as if she was keeping tabs on us. \n\nFor the 'included breakfast' we received a triple shot glass sized orange juice and had to wait forever for lackluster pancakes which didn't even come with any sides.\n\nOur room was represented as a suite with two queen beds and a pull out couch but was nothing more than a small hotel room with two hard full beds. The room also had a distinctly pungent odor and there was a mustard looking stain on the rug. The foulness of the room was only surpassed by the dinginess of the 1970's era pool. The decor was comprised of old puzzles which the proprietor had glued together and framed.
Location easy check in Loud people with dog above us. Made a big deal about signing no pets in our room but the one above us could? It seemed very illogical. For a ski place it seemed insane people would be loud at 1 am when lifts open early rhe next day
I disagree with the harsh reviews of this hotel, and found it to be just as I expected from a 3-star hotel. The room was spacious and clean. It was a little worn around the edges, but this is not the Four Seasons. The location is great, just minutes from the Killington base. And the night we were there the lounge had live music, a local singer-songwriter who played a nice set. We enjoyed the free breakfast, which was much better than a typical limited-service hotel breakfast buffet. We will definitely stay here again.
Lots of hidden charges. Dirty, smelly rooms with holes in walls. Rude front desk staff. Very uncomfortable place to stay.
Well it is an older hotel and had that musty smell. The pool was out of order due to a ceiling beam failure over the pool. We were disappointed, the indoor pool was a major draw for us staying during mid March. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was better than I had expected. Overall a decent stay but next time we'll stay close to Woodstock where there is more to do. If staying here though go to the sugar and spice restaurant down the road for lunch! It was amazing! Smell Pool out of order. Far from Vermont (non-ski) attraction
Beds were comfortable, rooms were spacious and all toiletries, including toothpaste, was provided. AC does not work so room was incredibly hot all night. Although the fan works, it only blew room temperature air despite adjusting both the thermostat and unit setting to cool. Check in experience was poor; front desk was un-staffed. We called as instructed to request for assistance, but no one answered the phone- still had to wait about 15 minutes for someone to show up and check us in. Male staff member that checked us in was less than friendly.
The hotel was clean, the location convenient. Years ago it was beautiful. It's still adequate, but no better than a chain hotel. Very quiet, plenty of parking. Nice social spaces, although there were only 5 people in the whole hotel. Good low price on the room. All of the few amenities were closed. No pool, no hot tub. Although the web site said they offered pub food for dinner there was no dinner service. Breakfast did not start until 7:30; not useful for a business visit. Great fireplace, but wasn't lit. Outside entry doors were convenient but were very drafty. Poor heat control; could not turn it down. There appeared to be no more than one staff person there. Furniture was mismatched.
Location was decent but that's about it. Run down appearance. Carpets threadbare in places. Pool looked murky and uninviting. Heat went off in the middle of the night.
The staff was super friendly and the open area for the kids and ability to mingle was great. There were cookies in the afternoon and the breakfast was good. - we had a chimney fire which freaked us out but then the staff never said another word to us about it - we had a leak into our room from a rain storm but they moved us right away - there were several leaks in the roof where water was coming into the pool and no one did anything - pool was too cold and hot tub too hot (scalding at times) - 15 to 20 min drive to Killington K1 and other bases Would I stay again? Probably not, too many bad memories.
Room was clean and comfortable. Pool was great, hot tub was being repared. Wi Fi coverage was good, altthough speed was a little slow. TV had poor reception and not many channels (Dish TV)
2nd year in a row we've stayed here last minute and for under$100. breakfast had a wide variety that satiated most diet needs; not bad for a *free* breakfast. nothing that i can think of
Staff super friendly and facilities were clean hot tub and pool could use a little renovating
i used KAYAK to book an inexpensive (but not TOO much so), last-minute (hours before) room on our way up to ski. at the price level above bottom-tier, i braced myself for the worst. From the moment we pulled up (easy on the eyes),we experienced the most delightful staff, and the loveliest night's sleep, albeit, briefly. the vibe is homey, and relaxed; maybe it's the holiday season getting to me, but if allowed the time, it's ideal for a romantic (cozy) getaway. We woke up late, but the free breakfast spread was generous!
The pool was amazing!
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Many hiking trails nearby. Breakfast was good as well. Our room was right above the kitchen, so we heard banging and thumps coming from below us at night and in the the morning. No TV in the room. There seemed to be no staff members available. Only signs to call a certain phone number or to see the bartender
Room warmed up very nicely with the fire place. Cozy and potentially very romantic. Showers. Water pressure was weak.
I loved the breakfast that was included; the pub with irish music in the evening. I thought the fireplace suite was overpriced for what it was. It is an old motel and needs sprucing up!
