Killington Grand Hotel - Killington - Building
4
9.1 Excellent (749 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The Killington Grand Resort Hotel possesses classic Vermont charm and the conveniences people have come to expect from the Killington area. Home of what is perhaps Vermont’s best-known ski resort, the Grand Resort certainly lives up to expectations. At Killington, the outdoor experience is the focal point, and whether guests are visiting in the winter to enjoy the skiing or coming during the summer for some of the best hiking in the Northeast, the accommodations are designed to be the place to rest and recharge after a long day of absorbing the great northern outdoors. Young folks will feel completely at home with complimentary XBOX games and game systems. When they’re not outside on the slopes or trails, they can join their parents in the heated pool or two hot tubs. The resort also features the Ship skis partnership. This makes it easy for guests to ship their ski and snowboard gear straight to the Grand Hotel from their homes. This way, everything is there waiting without the hassle of packing, rearranging and repacking everything to fit around the ski and snowboard gear. The dining experience is as unique as Killington itself. Guests have access to the classic Vermont fare found at Preston's and of course the legendary food at the base lodge. But on top of those options, there is the Long Trail Pub, Vermont Fresh Café, Grand Café, and even the Jerk Jamaican Mountain Grill. Guests can also indulge in impressive views of the mountains at Peak Lodge or dine surrounded by nature at Ledgewood Yurt. Killington is the kind of place that is unforgettable due to its simplicity, class, and dedication to tradition—as well as gently breaking it. The Killington Grand Resort Hotel is no exception.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pool, spa and breakfast buffet
Cons: High drink prices
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Outdoor heated pool and hot tub was a nice treat after a cold day of skiing. Included breakfast was fantastic.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great! Location was good-
Cons: We had a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite with another couple and one room was on the main floor and one was down a full flight of stairs(22) and we couldn’t carry our own luggage. I am handicapped right now with a cane, the other lady has a heart condition and both men are in their mid to late 70’s. While it was disappointing, the bell staff did offer to help. There was absolutely zero view of the beautiful mountain.

Pros: Outdoor pool is awesome.
Cons: Beds could be more comfortable.
7.1 Good
Pros: Heated pool was the best part. Very cheap room, no frills, but the pool would bring us back again. Hotel is super dated and seems to be falling apart, but great bargain for your money. We went for the heated pool, and enjoyed it fully.
Cons: Run down, old, dated, no frills. Weird decorations. And some weirder guests..

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hot tub and sauna. Excellent staff
7.4 Good
Pros: nice facilities
Cons: staff is not friendly
7.4 Good
Pros: Friendly Staff, good location and great price. I really felt welcomed and that if I had any needs they would have been taken care of. Any dislikes I may write does not take away from the fact that this is a decent place to stay when you do not want to spend an arm and a leg for lodging.
Cons: The motel had an old musty smell that I assumed came from years of moisture of guests returning from skiing. We had arrived in the summer, so I was sort of surprised at the odor. The elevator also sounds like it needs a tune up and my fiance and I decided the stairs were the best bet for our stay.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a good deal for the price. We were up there for a 5K run and just needed a clean comfortable place to stay at a good rate and this place did just that. The best part were the managers. They were so nice and treated us like family.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice, clean, staff is very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast here is something else, just simply amazing. And very close to Killington.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Connie at the front desk was a sweetheart. She couldn't do enough for us and was more than accommodating. The family room / game room was pretty cool and the huge open fireplace was quite nice. My friend Adam spent his day and night writing his book by it. I'd give them 10 out of 5 stars if I could
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere.
Cons: Breakfast not included.

3.1 Mediocre
Pros: I liked that it was close to the ski area
Cons: I didn't like the fact that I had to wait over 2 hours after check in time to get a room. I don't like the fact that James, who was working the front desk when I arrived had no idea what was going on and couldn't even get a list of what rooms had been cleaned and which haven't. He just told me that he just got on duty and doesn't know how long the wait would be. Never apologized for the inconvenience. Didn't offer anything for the trouble. He then finally gave me a room key. When I went to the room there were people's stuff already in there. I had to wait another 45 minutes for a new key. Poor service. Poor quality hotel overall. The location is the only thing going for them.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was awesome and the views were Amazing!
Cons: The sheets were super itchy & I could hardly sleep because of it. They need better sheets! Bring your own if possible!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Me and my girlfriend stay here in the early and late ski season because of the great prices in the slow season and how close it is to Killington Ski Area. Whenever I walked through the lobby there was a fire going in their big beautiful fire place. The court yard has two fires going all night and the hot tub was hot, clean, and gigantic, like the size of a pool. Breakfast was included and had lots of options, a variety of oatmeal flavors, bagels, pastries, bacon, sausage, cereal, fruit, granola, waffles and they cooked my eggs to order since the hotel was on the slow side. Great service, from check in to check out the staff was so nice and very accommodating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great all around nice big lodge lots to do . Games for you to play with family and friends
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff was incredibly accomidating. The hotel.has a bike was station and allows guests to store their bikes to their rooms for safety purposes. The beds were very comfortable, breakfast was amazing, and the hot tub and common areas were great.
Cons: For mountain bike guests the experience could be improved if there was a secure bike valet, that only staff had access. Guest would drop their bikes with a staff member and have their bikes retrieved by a staff member. This would keep the rooms cleaner and ensure the safety of riders bikes. This is done in other bike destinations like whistler.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was excellent
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We were wanting to visit Killington and arrived in mid-Septmber. The leaves had not changed yet but Fall was in the air and it was beautiful. The lodge was very nice with large rooms and spacious community areas. The hot tub was amazing holding over 20 guests with two fires nearby. There were not many guests so we had it to ourselves. They have a movie room and played recent releases each night at 8pm with popcorn. This must be an excellent place to stay during ski season.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great. The staff was amazing. They were more than helpful and accommodating to all of our needs. They really went above and beyond even on simple requests for us. They were courteous and never once had a bad attitude no matter what time of day it was. Matthew and James were great in particular (be it checking us in at 3:30am or just making sure everything was going well as we were on our way out for the day). The hotel is also very open to suggestions and feedback to help improve the stay for everyone.
5.1 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was great.
Cons: Our late night check in was not good. The guy at the counter was a dork.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Location was great but that’s really the only positive thing I can say about this hotel.
Cons: Staff was not particularly friendly or professional, the entire hotel is poorly maintained- considering it’s the off-season I would have expected more repairs would have been made, and we had to change rooms because of a bug (NOT bed bugs) issue.
5.6 Okay
Pros: The location is pretty good, close to a lot of shops and restaurants.
Cons: We were supposed to have a Deluxe King room, with a king size bed - they didn't have any available. The best they could do was a room with two double beds and a balcony. The hotel is tired, paint on railing on balcony is peeling. Huge stain on the rug between the beds was not pleasant. Sunday morning waking up to the sound of a lawn mower at 5:30am was not nice. Hearing everything that went on in the hallway and the bathroom next door was not fun either.

8.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Good value for the price (NOT a luxury hotel). Convenient to everything on the access road.
Cons: The place is a bit run-down.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the free breakfast. We’ve stayed here 2 years in a row now for snowboarding trips and we will definitely be back for a 3rd. The staff is wonderful, so pleasant and helpful. The free breakfast in the morning makes it all worth it. Some of the facilities are a little antiquated but I have no complaints for the price and the friendliness.

5.4 Okay
Pros: The location was close to Killington and the prices were affordable, the room was a great size and was homey.
Cons: The heat wasn't adjustable and extremely cold one of the nights. There also was some mold in the inside of the shower currents from being closed wet for an extended time.
7.7 Good
Pros: Nice cheap place to stay for Skiing.
6.8 Good
Pros: Friendliness of the staff.
Cons: Continental breakfast was disgusting, cereal was stale, cream cheese for bagels was outdated from may. Nothing was fresh or appetizing.
6.8 Good
Pros: Set back from the main road on, yes, a hillside. A few miles from restaurants, ski facilities and within a reasonable drive on Route 4 or 100 to Rutland, Ludlow, and Woodstock. Room had a separate sink and small frig, but no utensils or dishware.
Cons: Room had unusual configuration. Bathroom area had no tub and shower was extremely small. Could not bend over. Toilet was in separate, basically, closet with no exhaust or fan. Breakfast was mini-muffins, mini-bagels, dry cereal, coffee, juice -- nothing special.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed for New Year's Eve. Hotel room was huge with big, comfortable king size bed. Very clean room with refrigerator and nice shower. Walls were a little thin with guests making noise but it was New Year's Eve so it was to be expected. Perfect location close to everything.
7.4 Good
Pros: Extremely close to all ski areas Cheapest price for the area Kitchen area was good, had microwave, mini fridge
Cons: Parking was bad in the winter. Snow takes up so much room considering small parking lot to begin with. Paper thin walls Can't change heat, no actual heater Bring your pillows
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: My flight on Feb 14, 2015 was cancelled due to a heavy snowstorm in the New England region. This hotel (Hillside Inn at Killington) is the only business that refused to refund five (prepaid) days of stay. They could have made me pay for one day, but they took all the money for the entire vacation I was planning to take with my son at Killington.
3.1 Mediocre
Pros: Dirty
