Pros: Great view, super clean, great staff, amazing breakfast and optional dinner. A classic must-go!
Pros: Hostel Serena is a true gem! We have been traveling for a few months and it is our favorite hostel so far. It feels like you are being welcomed into a home rather than purchasing a room for the night. The included breakfast was INCREDIBLE and everything is made in house from the crepes to the breads to the marmalade. We lucked out finding this place!
Pros: Such a chilled place and the best breakfast!
Pros: Breakfast was great, beds were comfortable and the owner was friendly and helpful and good at making a good atmosphere for all the guests.
Pros: Thank you hostel Serena. We had a great time! We are a couple and travelling with our dog. We had the double room with private bathroom. The room had a lot of space, was really clean and we had an amazing view. The staff was really friendly. We really loved the garden as well and you can sit outside on the terrace to enjoy the beautiful view. The breakfast was delicious, fresh with a lot of different choices. Thank you so much for everything!
Pros: Loved it here, the location, the garden, the volunteers, the host himself, the breakfast, the tours they offered. Especially how we all ate together at breakfast really made it so easy to get to know eachother which in turn made the over-all vibe in the hostel so comfortable and nice. Same with offering tours through the hostel, made it easy to get to know one another. Very nice experience!
Cons: The only thing I would comment on is that there should have been more seating arrangements (couches) inside for reading/chilling. Reading a book in the evening when it's so peaceful, but having to sit at the diningroom table or outside, because the tiny couch was full, worked but something that is easy to improve! Same with amounts of bread and scrambled eggs for brekkie, serving three pieces of bread and one portion of eggs at a time for 12 people was frustrating when everyone is hungry. Tiny things, easy to improve!
Pros: Simply the best hostel I stayed in. Breakfast was top notch, beds were clean and comfortable. Shower was clean and hot. View was amazing and the owner and his family made everybody feel like home. They just opened the new restaurant when I was there and the food was not only cheap but better then in most restaurants.
Cons: Just nothing!
Pros: This is the best hostel I have stayed in South America so far. It is clean and cozy and and the staff is amazing. The tours that you can book through them are great and the breakfast is incredible.
Pros: From the minute we walked in to Hostel Serena we felt extremely welcome. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had just what we needed. Bert was really knowledgeable about the local sights and always made the time to stop and talk. Our room was warm and cosy with great facilities. The lounge area was the perfect place to meet other travellers or just relax and read. The view across the town and to the mountains from the lounge was beautiful. It was about a 10 minute walk from the hostel to the plaza. Yes, it is slightly uphill but a very easy walk through the markets. We would have stayed longer but it was already booked up!
Cons: Nothing. Everything was just perfect.
Pros: This is really an amazing place to stay. People are so friendly. They help you with everything you need. Breakfast is of outstanding quality. The atmosphere makes you instantly relaxed. In the evening there's also a possibility to have dinner in the restaurant of Hostel Serena. I would recommend everybody to visit this place.

Pros: Posada Guasu is in the centre of Samaipata. It's a very quiet place with a beautiful garden, perfect if you want some rest. The host was a lovely woman, ready to help when you need something. The rooms were very clean and everything was done with an eye for details! We loved it!
Pros: A warm and friendly welcome is the start of a wonderful experience staying at this Bolivian 'home from home'. The place is quiet, beautifully decorated and feels very cosy.
Cons: The only thing perhaps was breakfast could be a little more creative... just eggs and bread each morning can get a little repetitive.
Pros: The guesthouse resembles a museum, the inner garden is full of wonderful flowers. Walking and viewing it is a pleasure. All this thanks to the super hospitable owner Lina. She arranged her home with such love, and everything was thought out so that guests could feel comfortable. The guesthouse is located 2 steps from the central square and the bus stop on Santa Cruz, near the market with fresh products. We stayed in a room with a private bathroom, but you need to keep in mind that you will have to go to the bathroom through the garden. But since there were few guests, this was not a problem. The shower was always hot. The path to the toilet was lit all night. Also allowed to use the kitchen. If you are in Samaipata, you won’t find a better place.
Pros: The host was very helpful and friendly (but only speaks spanish). The breakfast was very tasty. we've got homemade eggs and pancakes.
Cons: The restaurants in samaipata will never be known for their excellent cuisine.
Pros: Cosy, very accommodating hosts, clean, good breakfast, nice location, a fireplace in the house.
Cons: For the first day, we were given a bathroom which was not very practical. You could hardly take a shower there since it was very small. But for the second day the hosts assigned us a nice bigger bathroom. Our room was cold during the night, I was going to bed putting on all my clothes.

Pros: Lynda was a lovely host who was very helpful and made us feel at home
Pros: We had an amazing stay at Casa Lynda. The garden is so beautiful and calm and you can lay in the hammock and relax. Lynda is a lovely person and can give advise about Samaipata. It’s a short walk to the main plaza and there’s always drinking water available. Would definitively come back!
Pros: Lynda was a really friendly and helpful host and had answers to all our questions about Samaipata. Our room was lovely (and very clean!) and the garden was especially beautiful and perfect for relaxing in! Love the hammock.
Pros: Lynda is an excellent host. The breakfast, which is bought fresh from the market, is very tasty. The garden of the property is beautiful and having a fridge available is very helpful. Five minute walking distance from all amenities.
Pros: Lovely back garden. Free water
Cons: Bathroom was a bit mouldy - may have been because of all the rain. Bed was uncomfortable
Pros: The host is really nice and she really makes us feel comfortable staying there. The place has a beautiful lush garden in the backyard so you can relax and unwind. Samaipata is quite small, it's like 5 mins walk to everything so the location of this hostal is just right. We just wanted a place to chill and feel close to the nature after such a long travel, so this place was just perfect for us.
Pros: The room was prefect and Lynda was an amazing host with some very cute pets :) The drinking water and outside eating area was a real bonus, much appreciated!
Cons: I miss read the listing, that breakfast was included but after reading it again it was my mistake but could be misinterpreted, perhaps just make this clear on the listing.
Pros: Everything was lovely! Host, place, breakfast, location ... I always told her. It does not feel like a hostel, it feels like you are home! But in a beautiful way! The breakfast was fantastic and yummy! We'll try to come again :)

Pros: Awesome Breakfast. Room just OK. Nice staff service.
Pros: Everything. The breakfast was by far the best we had on our trip in Bolivia.
Pros: Excellent location, easy to find. Had lovely breakfast overlooking beautiful gardens. Great place to escape to and relax! Host very helpful at giving tips on sightseeing around Samaipata :)
Pros: Breakfast was excellent!! Very nice place and very nice staff.
Pros: The best breakfast with the most attentive owner. Thank you for an amazing stay!
Pros: Breakfast: excellent, complete and very good. The garden. The owner who served breakfast. The silence of the location and at the same time close to the town.
Cons: The bathroom. The water in the lavabo was slow to go away and there was a leak from the shower. The price of the room a bit, just a little bit, high.
Pros: Las Vida es Bella is a great place to stay in Samaipata. It is only a few minutes walk from the central plaza and the rooms each have a balcony. The rooms are modern, well equipped and clean. The owner is extremely helpful and helped us plan our visit to El Feurte and a swimming spot on the way back. He also arranged our taxi back to Santa Cruz. Finally, the breakfasts are individually cooked and were probably the best we had in our three weeks in Bolivia. Recommended.
With a stay at Hostal Vagabundo in Samaipata, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Samaipata Museum of Archaeology and Municipal Market. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Felt directly at home when I arrived in the hostel. The owner is really the best and helps you with everything. He speaks English, German, and I don’t know what more. The hostel has its own transfer service to nearby attractions. Breakfast is nice as well and the showers are hot.
Cons: I didn’t had time to stay longer.
Pros: All was good. Price, bed, personel.
Pros: The location of the guesthouse was great and enjoyed their pets, three dogs and a cat. The breakfast was ok considering it was included in the price of the room. Cereal, bread, fruit, on one morning we had an egg, another there was cheese. Thomas the owner is quirky and chatty. We arrived at 4:30am and arranged ahead to be let into the room which was great.
Cons: The door to our dorm room didn’t close (unless we locked it from the inside meaning others couldn’t enter) so there was cold air coming in all night (it got to -2 outside) so we were all freezing. They provided extra blankets but not enough. It was super noisy around 3am when other guests arrived from the pub, staying up taking for ages, no sign to tell them to be quiet after a certain time. On our last morning we left early, which the owner Thomas knew, and had said he would provide the breakfast, which they did not.
Cons: The owner lies about the Check in time which you can find on booking. So they charged us one more night just because of an early Check in. We tried to clear this up friendly, but the owner got agressive immediately!
Pros: Nice lady managing the place always eager to share stories, clean and small hostel, reception open if you arrive at night, breakfast OK.
Pros: Such a great atmosphere, ended up feeling like a family with the other guests.
Cons: The Wi-Fi was fast but sometimes the signal would disappear in the rooms.
Pros: Breakfast changes slightly everyday which was nice. Comfortable beds with plenty of spare blankets if you get cold. Great location. Very friendly owner who had lots of advice and information about the local area. Really nice friendly atmosphere.
Cons: Door wouldn't close properly unless bolted from the inside which doesn't work for a dorm when people often arrive late at night, suggest adding a proper handle with latch instead.
Pros: Good location, the owner and the staff were very nice and helpful about giving any informations and even a ride.
Cons: The private room is not really private since the ceiling is just a thin wooden something, was very scary when people walking around in the dormitory upstairs. Plus you can hear everything.
Pros: The owner is absolutely great, speaks fluent English, German & Spanish, happy to help with anything, brewkfast was decent too, definitely reccomend
Pros: Uhhhh breakfast was good?
Cons: Bathrooms, rooms, very basic
Pros: Clean rooms, breakfast included, hot showers and nice view. Thomas the owner was always very friendly and helpful. Received a samaipata guide upon arrival which was very handy. An overall good experience
Cons: Road is a little rough so you need to be careful especially at night
