Come and stay you will feell how bad your hotel is
Quite, wide and nice resort that included private beach. Nice room decor.
Deserted place after the spread of covid, lack of staffs at reception when we came in the morning (9AM)
breakfast was great, and staff were very polite. the gardens and general setting and facilities of the hotel were excellent. it was slight walk from the beach, however the pool view was fantastic.
everything was great.
The room was large, bright and comfortable The hotel has a large pool and an on site bakery, which sells overpriced goods but some nice fresh products (good sandwiches, for example, at 4 times the price of a local restaurant) The tv has a range of international channels Beach towels are provided by the hotel Grab taxis can be arranged to the hotel, as well as Grab food delivery. A local cartel will heckle you as you leave the hotel - ignore them
We arrived in the midst of Covid-19 Hysteria. Unfortunately, this lead to a myriad of problems. 1) the hotel was largely deserted. Hyatt took this as an excuse to close the majority of it down, including most of the restaurants, the additional facilities such as the ability to kayak on the sea and the spa 2) the staff insisted we paid the entire bill for our stay up front - not sure why this was necessary, as no other hotel in Vietnam had demanded this. It was also asked in an impolite manner 3) most of the local restaurants had also closed, but the hotel concierge had to be cajoled into booking replacements for us. 4) the staff commissioned loud repairs on the hotel whilst we were sleeping in adjacent quarters on multiple occasions (late at night and in mornings). They only stopped this after I complained 5) a room full of bugs - more bites here than any other hotel we stayed at in Vietnam 6) the balcony's sliding door was broken when we arived and had to be repaired twice 7) the private beach had been closed due to jellyfish landings (a genuine concern, but it's bad of the hotel to market itself on this basis) 8) most of the local attractions were closed (unless you're an East Asian tourist, as the attractions for these communities are still open e.g. Ba Na Hills) 9) the shower temperature could not be maintained and would vary between scalding and cold on the same setting 10) a lot of the staff were not particularly cordial or polite, although some were nice and made a genuine effort to help 11) beer in the minibar is 10 times the local cost. If a can of beer in a fridge in your home nation was 10 times the price you pay in a supermarket, surely that would constitute extortion.
Room was large and excellent. Well fitted out. Staff very helpful and friendly. Only about 3 Pounds Sterling for taxi into City. Food excellent. Wine selection by the glass quite good. Some of the choice by Bottles looked better. La Terrasse (the Bar) also had very good smaller meals such as a Pair of Wagyu mini Burgers Pool and adjoining beach excellent. Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus, there were less than about 50 Guests. Some of the Venues were closed for 'deep cleaning'
A group of about 40 US Navy personnel arrived mid-week. The Hotel seemed to be not prepared for their arrival. Many Staff were obviously not on duty in the low occupancy and they found it difficult to cope with the number of new arrivals. However, I had no problem with the service. It should have been possible for them to open/shut different Venues on different days, rather than just close them.
