The walls are very thin. Continental breakfast was horrible. Our rooms' door stuck closed. No Wi-Fi past two consecutive stays resulting costing me additional stress and $. Lack of elevator. Housekeeping was limited over holidays. Check-in is through a video kiosk with staff in a remote location, off property, but it worked. No hot water, had to shower with cold water, roach in the closet, and bathroom had a bad moisture odor. The check in process with a remote staff person was awkward and tedious. I much prefer a real person. Other than that, it was a clean and relatively convenient place to stay. Absolutely weird check in by a guy from Pakistan or outer Mongolia that spoke English as a second language. He was broadcasting from a computer screen so it was extremely off the charts. Came close to walking out while trying to understand him. Yes, the bedding was stained, and the sofa bed was very worn down. It had a rip and found hairs all over the carpet. The check in process was also not so good. It's done electronically and you could barely understand the worker. The signage was really bad. The sign on the street was not for Days Inn. No sign or numbers on the sign on the street or building. I had to drive around Davis for an hour because of this. When I finally got there, no real person at the front desk. Was trying to talk to someone I could not understand because of poor voice quality. Very upset at the whole thing. I will never book or stay at this hotel again. View of trash dumpster. Breakfast coffee ran out. Digital kiosk front desk manager took some getting used to. Some plugs and lamp in room didn’t work. Lighting felt odd and not homey feel to the room. Traffic almost every time when driving there from Davis. Breakfast was too basic. Long queue for the microwave. The kiosk at the front of the reception area instead of an actual receptionist. It was pricey. Virtual check in, while nobody works the front desk. The gentleman I called to explain my reasoning for requesting a late checkout was polite and apologetic. We also couldn’t get the AC to work, and that mixed by the noisy room + barking dog made our stay miserable. This was the first time I had experienced a Zoom Checkin it was a little time consuming but worked out okay. The employee was very patient and helpful. The lobby noise made it hard to hear him and made it hard to follow his instructions. The thin walls, the video front desk attendant, the too-sugary breakfast offerings. Sketchy people hanging around the parking lot. Front desk personnel absent. My room smelled a lot like cigarettes. I called the front desk and of course they told me they will refer my concern to manager and up to know didn’t hear back from anyone. No one at the front desk to greet you gives you a cold feeling not welcoming.
