What are the pros of staying at Calme Boutique Hotel?
The staff are brilliant. Everything was nothing less than perfect. Stuff was super nice and helpful with great tips and surprise birthday gesture. It was secluded and beautifully done with a gorgeous patio and the pool. The hotel has an amazing location, away from the hustle and bustle, yet very close to the restaurants/cafés. It has a beautiful view. It has a minimal decoration, very clean. The breakfast has a variety of choices. The hotel offers a beautiful, perfect size pool. It is really the perfect place to relax in a quiet ambiance. The property and the views were truly beautiful. Calme hotel is legitimately calming, and sometimes I didn’t even want to leave the hotel. All of the hotel staff is also so kind and helpful and really made us feel well welcomed. We rented a car and I would say this is absolutely necessary if you don’t want to be at the mercy of car services because it’s up a hill and having the freedom to go all over the island is a must! The room was perfect, staff exceptional and overall it was exactly what we expected and needed. Highest possible recommendation. The room was perfection, spacious, clean, beautifully designed with a private pool we very much enjoyed making use of. The staff was friendly, warm and always available, saw to all our needs and made what we wanted happen without us barely needing to do anything. Everything about this hotel says class and luxury and they live up to it. Staff were super friendly and, the room was so clean (cleaned twice a day). The view was so relaxing and the pool was always clean. The breakfast is exquisite and very high quality food. It is literally the perfect place to relax. Very private property and well maintained with good views. On our six-city tour of Greece this hotel comes out on top: the view is draw-dropping; the accommodations were lovely; and the hospitality was extraordinary and went above and beyond to make our stay special. I can't recommend this place highly enough. It's a small property which makes you feel very special and taken care of, but also means they sell out quickly. This hotel is perfect! We were impressed by the property itself. Friendly attentive staff always happy to help. we love our stay absolutely beautiful. The view was exceptional. The property itself was very well built and clean, very clean. We stayed in the “Thyme” room which had sun all day. Comfy bed and again, very clean. Every room has a great pool. Pool, free breakfast, amazing views, complimentary transfer to drios, attentive service, privacy, a/c, large room. Fantastic stay! We went on our honeymoon and the staff were exceptional, meeting our every need and making us feel welcome and confortable at all times. The food at the hotel is really good. Highly recommended stay if you have your own car. Beautifully decorated, all new and functioning, great views. the staff were so sweet and friendly and helpful. the breakfast was generous and delicious. the room and private courtyard and pool were amazing and the view….!!!! The staff was amazing. The views were great. The breakfast was top notch. And the setting was true to its name...calm. very calm indeed. very kind and dedicated staff. The views, where you can see 5 different islands, are simply breath taking. the hotel felt so private, the restaurant is amazing, the rooms are so luxurious and comfy, and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. the most relaxing, peaceful stay whilst only being 25 minutes drive away from Naoussa (best vibe in Greece) and Pariakia (Paros port), I highly recommend
What are the cons of staying at Calme Boutique Hotel?
No real bar area for casual cocktails. There is no indoor restaurant especially for the breakfast. The breakfast is served on a terrace with no shadow (there are only three umbrellas), it gets very uncomfortable and unpleasant under the sun. When we booked a table for dinner, we were told that we had to pre order the plates, a very unexpected detail in a five star hotel, especially because the restaurant name is “Seven Senses”. The gym is in the basement with no windows. It is more of a small storage room, with over crowded machines. It is really sad that they could not find a gym location with larger space and with the breathtaking view. These missing features are very important for a five star hotel. Unfortunately these bring down the level of the Calme Hotel. Personally, we felt the beds could have been more comfortable, but that’s also very subjective and there was nothing wrong with them. One other thing was this was supposed to be an adults only hotel, but on the last day there were teenagers in the pool for hours (our room faced the pool with a terrace) and they were screaming, yelling about being “intoxicated”, splashing, etc. It was extremely loud and obnoxious and really killed the vibe of relaxing by the pool. It's a very remote location and theres nothing around there. We needed to take transports to the beach and cabs any time we wanted to go anywhere and this added an unplanned expense. Its important to note, though, that once the staff knew we were in this situation they took care of things in the most expedient way and were always helpful and generous. It's a perfect place if you want to stay at the hotel or if you've got a car. If you want to walk to beaches and meals this isnt the place for you. A bit remote but the staff took care of us with shuttles. The property is not on the beach, which for some travelers may be a deal-breaker. I highly recommend getting a rental car on Paros, because the taxis are expensive and once you are on the property there isn't really anywhere to go. So, plan meals accordingly, and purchase any incidentals before arriving (sunscreen, large water bottles, bug spray, etc.). Ran out of hot water half way through the day. You are made to sign a document stating you should shower prior to going in your private pool, but I also need to put sun cream on! So a few cold showers were had. The “main” pool was never open by the looks of it and was confusing as to whether you could use it or not as some rooms backed onto it. So many wasps and hornets. We had to keep eating breakfast indoors due to them. In general its a great place to stay, but the restaurant seemed a little overpriced. It’s good quality, yes - but you can get the same quality in Naoussa or Paraikia for a little less money. Also the waiter at the buffet seemed stressed, you had to wait a couple times to get your food. I get that it’s part of the service, but a buffet would fill the hole in your tummy sometimes quicker . :) Missing don't disturb signs for the rooms. Staff at reception and housekeeping were very friendly but wait staff never smiled. The rooms are done very simply but for the cost, should not have plastic chairs in the room. Breakfast was very good but not outstanding as similar properties have large breakfast buffets. Only small detail could be improved. Comfort of bed and noisy pool water outlet valve. that our child was an extra 100 euros a night extra. as there was no common area it didn’t really lend itself to any interaction between guests but then again maybe everyone just wanted to enjoy their secluded romantic time alone, which makes sense because the accomodation was really lovely.
