We really enjoyed our time at the Sanderling Resort. This is hands down the best place to stay in the Outer Banks if you don't want to rent a house. Staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. We definitely will be back next year.
Recently renovated, Sanderling Resort boasts oceanfront luxury in North Carolina’s Outer Banks. Located on the Atlantic Ocean, the four-diamond resort offers tennis, golf, pools, a spa, and restaurants on-site for travelers of all ages. A popular spot for couples, families, and singles, Sanderling Resort offers an unforgettable vacation experience.
Two private airports are nearby, each about an hour or less away. Regional and international airports range from Williamsburg and Norfolk airports in Virginia at about a two-hour drive to Raleigh Durham International Airport, which is four hours away. Located in Duck between the Atlantic Ocean and Currituck Sound, Sanderling Resort offers guests expansive views of the water from many areas of the hotel, including the guest rooms.
In addition to dramatic over-water sunsets and sunrise views, the Sanderling Resort has rooms that feature oversized marble bathrooms, mini fridges, flat-screen TVs, and private balconies that help create a tranquil, relaxed setting. There are also vacation home rentals with amenities like in-room safes, fireplaces, daily trash removal and towel replacements, and seasonal concierge and bell services.
Guests staying at Sanderling Resort enjoy much more than sandy beaches and warm Atlantic waters. The resort features three pools—an indoor pool, one just for kids, and an adult-only pool, as well as an award-winning spa. Water activities allow guests to explore the local waterways by kayak, paddle boards, water skis, and more.
Four on-site restaurants offer a variety of cuisine options, from casual poolside fare at Sandbar to upscale dining with majestic views of Currituck Sound at Kimball’s Kitchen. Beach House Bar delivers small bites and cocktails in a living-room setting, while Lifesaving Station and its No 5 Bar present a lively menu of local seafood favorites.
