location and comfort of room
Clean, Tidy and friendly staff. Easy to find and well located for the area. Lovely club sandwich in the bar! Shower extractor fan was constant, the main bathroom one went on and off with light ok but one over shower 'hummed' all night. Car park had lights but only ones nearest to reception were on (or working) making it very dark for late arrivals (as I was).
Nice hotel set in a pleasant grounds with good road links into Wolverhampton. Room was a good side well equiped and comfortable. The bathroom was in a very poor state with patched up tiling, plastic strips around the bath and on the ceiling apparently covering up gaps after a partial refit. The tiles was filthy with black mound in the grout, around the taps and mixer shower. The extractor fan filter was thick with dust and the shower curtain rod continually fell down. For a hotel of this standard the bathroom was an utter disgrace.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room service was exceptionally quick even though there was a large party in the hotel at the time. The breakfasts were delicious - a real treat. The mattresses were rather lumpy, but I turned the mattresses and it was much better and worth the effort.
location to himley hall. disco loud early hoursof sunday morning ?
The friendliness of the staff especially on the reception desk upon arrival. Mould in the bath/show
The room was lovely and the location nice Not ideal if you do not have a car because the surounding area was not easily accessible! Raj was great on the mornings as the waiter Some of the reception staff were rude and disrespectful We were two young ladies staying and they did not seem to like this
Unfortunately the beds were hard and uncomfortable. The room was cold, the heater did not work in our room(129). Despite reporting this nothing was done. Apart from this we enjoyed our stay.
quiet and comfortable thermostat on shower did not work stuck on boiling hot when asked for bill the initial bill was not based on the rate booked through yourselves but this was corrected without any fuss.
Got the room cheap through Active Hotels so it was good value
Staff courtesy, evening Meal, quality of breakfast, the coffee
There was nothing we didn`t like about our stay , everything was excellent . The staff very helpful and friendly the food was top notch , We would definetely stay again
apart from view, everthing was excellent veiw from bedroom
The overall standard of the hotel was very good We were given a free upgrade but the friends we were travelling were left in one of the standard rooms with the 1990 decor - How embarassing. The steaks were very tough and though we were given a free dessert it sort of took the shine off an otherwise nice meal. At £16.95 for a steak I expect better. Finally, if you are paying nearly £14 for 4 drinks you should expect glasses that look nicer than the inch thick functional things they use. The lemonade and pepsi looks flat when they put it in and I had to ask for ice. No sign od a slice of lemon. In summary, respond better to problems and pay attention to those details!!!
Convenience of the location
the room was so lovely thanks, staff are very help full thanks to them we will stop again thank you the out side there where a lot of cig butts did not look to nice as we dont smoke
Newly refurbished bedrooms which were really nice and really comfy bed.
The comfort and cleanness of my room no
comfort and cleanness no
The hotel was handy for Dudley. The rooms were clean and tidy We stayed in a King Superior room, the bed was infact 2 single mattresses that kept coming apart
excellent value for money, rooms basic but comfortable, friendly and helpful staff, good for shopping
Service from staff was friendly and efficient Bathroom was very dated, damages and not very clean, there was also beatles in bedroom and bathroom
Free parking was probably the only good thing about my stay. To be honest I didnt enjoy my stay at all, my room was not particularly clean and smelt musky. The bath had mildew around the edges, went to the hotel restraunt, where I was the only customer, which was fine I had the smoked salmon and king prawn salad to start, the prawns came with a very unusual sauce and the salmon tasted very "fishy". I had the mushroom risotto for my main, disgusting! I could not eat any of it, it was the most disgusting, lumpy foul tasting meal I have eaten, it comes with veg I thought, unbelievably your chef had managed to destroy veg n potatoes! I had paid for breakfast and asked if I could not have breakfast and call it quits on dinner I would pay for drinks no, so I paid for a foul dinner and breakfast I didnt eat
relaxed hotel with internet facilities - also quiet no Blossom Hill by the glass - unusual!!!
The bar shut in the due to 'staff sickness' at 10.00, although the receptionist did get me a beer.
Clean and functional, all facilities that you need for a short stat, good price for an average hotel. Fine
The 2 for 1lunch deals and the rooms were clean and comfortable and their was adequate room for parking.
Very helpful reception staff and excellent value for money. Location was perfect.
Staff were really friendly, liked added touches of mints and biscuits in the room. It was quite noisy by the road as the windows did not appear to be double glazed.
Cheerful and friendly staff
Good food and good service Warm, ac would be a benefit
Freindly Staff Value for money size of room no bath
Efficient and friendly Staff Very good pool and liesure set up Room a little basic - very little toiletries and no biscuits with the coffee/tea making facilities
The public areas were very welcoming, the restaurant was very good and the staff were very helpful. The coldness of the breakfast room which was almost next to the front door.
Polite and helpful staff Tv to complecated
The hotel was comfortable When we entered the room it was freezing. There was no instuctions on how to use the heating/cooling system. We booked an early morning call for 7am, this was not forthcoming and as a result were later than expected for an engagement. When this was pointed out to reception at checkout all that was offered was 'sorry' I feel we should have been offered maybe a free breakfast as compensation.
ease of access to rail station & airport & NEC facilities. The staff were very helpful & polite. Would definately use this hotel again.
Hotel room had a strong smokey smell to it even thogh a non smoking hotel
Easy access to NEC site The decor is a bit "tired" although I appreciate the hotel is well used 24/7
The staff were very helpfull and the location being close to the NEC The hairdryer in our room did not work.
Room was very large, great views, and comfortable. The WiFi (which wasn't free) failed at 8pm, and didn't get resolved until 11:30pm. The hotel did, however, refund the charge.
The hotel is well situated to many of the local attractions. In addition to the hotel's amenities, there is also a health club adjacent to the main entrance. The Wi-Fi connection is perhaps the only defect that I can discern at the present moment. It was slow, undependable, and forced me to use my use my mobile data.
clean with goo sevice it so far from the city for business or for entertainment
room was large and very comfortable breakfast was not good at all and the spa facility was very untidy
Room, including bathroom/shower, was very clean and spacious with all necessary facilities available. Every member of staff that we came into contact with (restaurant, bar, reception, fitness/pool) were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Restaurant choice of meals was limited.
This was our second stay at the hotel, great location for our shopping trip to Merry Hill. The breakfast was excellent.
Space and facilities in the room and locality
location was very good for business in Dudley no problems
Needed to recieve some documents and front desk were very helpfull
Only the fact that there was a huge stain on the carpet in our room.
Spacious bedrooms, good leisure facilities (although we didn't have time to use them) and situated close to the Merry Hill shopping centre. Good parking facilities. Wi Fi not free. The bar area was noisy due to a large group of young people (possibly from an event taking place at the hotel).
The hotel was very pleasant, decor was bright and new and breakfast was good, Didn't like the spa and pool being closed for refurbishment.
Nothing Poor acess to rooms i.e. no lift, cot we had ordered had no mattress or bed linen, room was dark with dated furniture, view of a skip from window and the spa was closed. Not what we had expected from a four star Ramada hotel.
Comfortable for the price toilet in the room was filthy
Beautifull setting My daughter and I shared a twin bedded room and found the beds to be extremely narrow , we are both slim people so I can cannot image how a large person would not have fallen out of the bed !
standard of leisure facilities was exceptional and the hotel represented excellent value for money, would definately recomend.
It was a lovely hotel and the room was very nice and the price was very good definitely worth every penny... Will definitely stay there again :) Nothing to complain about
There was a function going on at the hotel and the room that I was in had bass of music pumping until 1am. Not the best if you have a 6 month old baby. The staff did offer to move us, but at 11 o'clock at night with luggage and baby and having already gone to bed we declined the offer.
No facility for using laptop - either as a dial-in facility or wireless
One of the best Asian restaurants I have eaten in Very slow check in process with only one receptionist who also had to deal with groups booking their Christmas Parties..
nothing rooms were not clean, insect larvae in the bedsheets and dirty bathroom. Staff were not helpful or apologetic.
relaxing in plasant surroundings-allways enjoy use of facillities...good location for local attractions etc
We loved the hotel and the room - talk about comfy! Disappointed with the onsite pub but verve was outstanding. The onsite pub food.
The room was very comfortable, staff were well trained, helpful, polite and cheerful. The restaurant was first class and parking was plentiful and convenient. The location was a little sterile (middle of a commercial estate) but overall - excellent. The thing I liked least was that there was only one lft, but in truth it wasn't a problem, just a little surprising.
After check in, my husband had to leave the hotel to meet some of his family. I was left in the room alone. It was during this time that a maintenance man knocked on the door. I found this to be strange as no one had said anything to us when we checked in and there were not any problems with the room / facilities. When I questioned him why he wanted access to our room he became incredibly cagey and nervious and said he would call back later and left as quickly as possible. he was not in any kind of uniform / had any id.
Friendly helpful staff First room that I occupied, the heating was not functioning. After checking by staff I was moved to another room. Negative followed by a positive
Quiet, except at breakfast time and in the restaurant. The televisions in public places had the sound off, for the most part. Meals available without having to go out. Essential as there was nowhere close enough to walk to. Use of a decent length swiming pool. In a handy location for my meeting. Cleaning and hovering whilst having breakfast. Showerhead only operating on a few jets. Poor lighting and high sound levels in the restaurant (not helped by the background musak). In answering 'yes' to the next question, that is a 'maybe'; it depends on the alternatives next time I have to spend a night in the vicinity. Small portions and bread or potatoes only supplied as an extra. In adequate warning of the credit card charge on the booking page and the amount was not included when asked to confirm on check-out on the website. The first I knew about it was when checking in at the hotel an saw and extra £2 on top of what I thought the room rate was. Television screens everywhere, tuned to different channels, are distracting. Nobody seemed to be looking at them, so do we need them ?
The parking was free. Restaurant staff very attentive. Good breakfast. There were no toiletries in the room and when we asked for some soap, we were told that they were not supplied, but there was a soap dispenser in the shower. This entailled climbing into the bath to get to it but was empty anyway. Had we known this when we booked, we would have brought our own soap - so be warned. We had booked a meal deal which was advertised as a 'free meal on the first night'. It turned out not to be free. We were given vouchers which paid for some of it, but had to make up the difference with cash. Reception staff were not very helpful.
Great hotel Should be 5 star
Very welcoming. Staff helpful and friendly. Hotel very clean and comfortable. Facilities excellent. None
We enjoyed the starbuck in the hotel, gym facilities were good. Staff on reception were helpfull, trying to book us in early but in the end had no twin available until the normal check in. The locker in the gym would not open, the key was stuck, we waited over 10 mins for assistant. In the end we managed to open our selves and didn't see any member of staff. So they would have left us for over 20mins sitting in a towel in the changing room. No hairdryer in the bedroom, on requesting this at the reception we still waited over 20min, so agian delaying us for our breakfast. Seating in the bar area was stained and at the breakfast area.
Staff very unhelpfull, breakfast trays from that morning still outside rooms in the evening, swimming pool was dirty, pricing/terms not clear when booking
i found the staff and facilities at the novotel very very good and would stay again
Comfort of the room
Excellent hotel with excellent customer service.Staff very friendly and an ideal location -close to the station.Room was very comfortable and breakfast/food was excellent.
The shower was nice n relaxing The toilet water kept rising and took ages to go down when flushed
Easy access to city centre, great value for money, reasonable bar prices, great place to stay if you are going to the civic centre,we went to a boxing show, and to see ricky hatton in the hotel bar having a meal made it more memorable.
Extremely comfortable beds, lovely bar and reception area, ideal location for the Brian McKnight gig at the civic hall Food ordered at the bar was very expensive and the quality was very disappointing
position of hotel at center
The food in the restaurant/bar was up with the best I have eaten and I stay in hotels every week Difficult to switch the taps over to shower mode
Location to city centre, cleanliness, breakfast and value for money nothing really
Good value for money. Extremely pleasant staff. I like the idea of a common fridge! Traffic noise was a slight problem.
Clean room, comfy bed, great staff, cheap price. None.
The room was spacious, well furnished and very clean. Parking was on site so that was really handy. Central location. Friendly staff and we had our own front door key to come and go as we pleased.
Friendly staff & ample parking. Nice & clean, character building. Hot water pipes noisy in morning from other rooms. No cooked breakfast option.
the hotel was very warm and had a fridge for clients use which we found usefull our room was at the front so was a bit noisy from traffic
Room good value. lovely spacious room which was tastefully decorated. Lovely welcome to the hotel, very helpful. Walls too thin , our room was noisy as on a main road. We did not get back until late and was woken up by noisy people above.noise from toilets and water system very loud, plus noise from the traffic. Maybe if we were in a different room it may have been better
we were very impressed with all aspects of the hotel and intend to stay again in the future
The room was excellent; large, clean, comfortable bed, wide screen tv with freeview box and free wi-fi. The hotel itself is well presented and has free parking. The owners are very friendly, helpful and know all about the local area. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Warm & comfortable, very homely with the personal touch The sink in the room
On arrival the receptionist was very un welcoming. She was ubrupt and basically rude. She was also unaware of the rate we had agreed with yourselves, although did accept it
We were upgraded. Location to the town. Choice for Breakfast
Spacious room The bar was noisy but one had to consider that there was a wedding reception
My room was very spacious, clean, comfortable, and quiet. Staff were very helpful.
We enjoyed the spa as we needed to relax after our long drive and our bad start to our stay with you. comment sent to customer service. Cold room and having to wait to have our breakfast.
the very large king size bed and the leisure facilities, food was also very nice no the hotel was very good
nice and quiet in the bedroom
The room was typical clean and servicable The added costs of parking and booking wasn't inclusive of breakfast.staff needed some customer care training and attitude seemed laissez faire and an impostion th\at they had customers!
Bar meals poor paid £5.50 for jacket spud with cheese only just warm and the size was so small it would not fill a child. We also had a pizza at £8.50 which was one we could have gone and brought from tescos plus it was so over cooked I could not eat any of the edge as it was so hard and again only just warm.Plus the hotal as followed other hotels in which the customer has to make his owen coffee in morning which is out of a machine ( rubbish)
Fast check in, warm well decorated room no tv remote :-(
Near to railway station On initial booking requested a smoking room however when checked in they gave a non smoking room and would not then change it.
Location to train station and town centre
The hotel was easy to find from the train station
the convenience to the railway station ,area ,public houses, traffic free environment, location of room
The location mainlly suited our requirements The Breakfast very Bland
It was in the center It is very old hotel, you need to fight with the staff for central heating. Amazing they are turning on the central heating just for an hour, then you need to shout again.
The room was very cold, there was no isolation, and it was freezing outside!
It was very central, next to bus and train station The outside made you a bit worried about the hotel you had picked but once inside it was OK.
Proximity to the train station. When we got to the room there was someone sleeping in there, that situation was not comfortable at all. During the entire stay one of the lifts was out of order, two of the lobby public phones were out of order. It looked like the hotel was about to close. The cleanliness of the room and corridors was also not acceptable.
It was clean and comfotable. the staff were polite friendly and helpfull
The breakfast service & food were both good & efficient The long walk and lack of lifts to my room
Excellent hotel, highly recommended
Convenient location. Low noise level from outside. Comfortable. Couldn't get a small snack with a glass of wine.
Bars One bar closed early
I thought the whole experience staying at the Manor was a very pleasant one, from the warm welcome on arrival the service at breakfast through to the help I received on departure. Nothing
The Hotel was big but still very cosy. The standards of the rooms outweighed my expectations and I was upgraded for free as there was a better room available. I really couldnt recommend this hotel enough
The staff were very friendly even though the hotel was very quiet.Especially the lady who served in the Triumph bar and the food was excellent
A perfect setting in a beautiful suburb not far from NEC Good food and a friendly staff
Located near to NEC Staff inexperienced and not the most customer orientated. Quite expensive for the quality and the limited facilities.
Good price, in a good location, it had very comfortable beds and pillows, nice fire in the bar. Buffet breakfast not great, the food was served too cold. And the temperature in the bar was too cold also.
Excellent value for money on the price we paid. Plenty of available car parking space. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location to Birmingham and walking distance to Touchwood shopping centre. Good breakfast and leisure centre. Its was cold. Very cold in the corridors and room was cold, as the heating system was not working. Vector heaters had already been given out, but extra blankets were delivered to our room very promptly. Only heating in the room was the bathrooms towel rail.
Lobby bar, reception service. No service at breakfast, cold plates, had to ask twice for tea, then had to get own cups, knifed forks ect... Off other tables, in view of waiters who did or said nothing. Room smelt damp and looked a little dated.
We were close to the NEC (attending Crufts) Hotel easy to find, we were made welcome - no charge for our dog, (unlike most hotels/travel lodges). Breakfast delicious and service excellent! Had slight problem with leak on shower attachment (got soaked!) and bath taps a bit strange.
The relaxed atmosphere and friendliness of staff.
helpfull staff, good food, easy parking no
Good value at £59 but not if if it was dearer Standards have slipped in last 3 years Breakfast not so good No biscuits in rooms Had the nerve to charge residents to park there!
No draught beer
Food okay Reception - bloody slow. Bar - cold and slow servioce.
Breakfast was excellent value for money. Good parking space. Client- oriented attitude of staff, who were all very helpful, polite and accommodating, explaining system and giving local information. Convenient site for my business activities or even worth considering for family visits to the nearby castle and zoo in Dudley. I cannot think of any bad points except the nearby roadworks over which the hotel has no control.
staff very friendly, good food and comfortable bed
It is very convenient for us to attend theJehovah's Witnesses Assembly next door. This year there was excessive noise in the room above at 1am and at 3.45am. Talking laughing and moving furmtiure. The rooms are far to hot over night and even with the window open found the heat uncomfortable.
Terrible bed - didn't get any sleep.
wedding guests at a hindu wedding
I liked the big bedroom and big bathroom and comfortable bed and the room was clean and plenty of storage space in the wardrobe. The location was good only a few minutes from the town centre and bus station. The breakfast was excellent and we really enjoyed our stay at the Station Hotel. No
The family room was nice and clean and the staff were friendly. I thought that the entrance to the Hotel and the reception were a bit shabby and could do with a total revamp.
bar servive and opening times not good for a hotel. not open durung day and bar closed at 11pm
I think its a lovely hotel steeped in history and character. I liked the decor and the fact that its very close to the castle. All staff were polite and friendly. N/A
The friendlyness of the staff. Especially at Breakfeast .Asthey were very busy but coped very well .
Convenience and location for the NEC. Excellant accces to Solihull shops.
Check in process needs improving
Not alot poor reception service
It was within walking distance of good shops, pubs and night life The bed,s were very hard
The suite was fabulous and made our visit There was a large party staying and that meant we were in able to get a table for dinner.
position of hotel
The hotel provided an excellent base for a visit to Solihull for a personal visit for the funeral of a close friend. The standard of the hotel was not my highest priority. The strange arrangement of the car park and getting parking tickets validated.
Cleanliness of hotel...staff were friendly Paying for Parking at the Hotel £8 per car per night
Staff very friendly Double bed was 2 single mattresses pushed together, no fitness facilities
Although the Ramamda double booked me they could not have been more accomodating. They sorted the problems out efficiently and I was given an executive room. The hotel is very close to town and the staff are friendly. Only problem was during my checkout; their was only one lady at the desk (she got flack for this) and it took 45 minutes to check-out, however stayed calm and tried her best. Breakfast a little dry but not horrible!
The staff were welcoming and friendly. Everywhere was clean and tidy with furnishings to a good standard. We were not given the room we had booked (Marsh) but the room offered (Bouguet) was very acceptable.
The decor and period furniture is beautiful in this period house. Owners and staff were friendly and warm and could not do enough for you. Restaurant food excellent. The stay was excellent and throughly recommended to anyone. Country setting around Kinver and Enville is beautiful.
The staff were excellent , the food was superb , the ambience was very relaxing . There were no tea and coffee facilities in the room .
nice gardens and rooms The only really friendly people we meet were the owners of the hotel . the others employees wer below expectations
Nice location. Excellent shower. Was overcharged on arrival and had to wait until departure to resolve. The advice was that I would obtain a refund 'once what I had spent in the hotel had been deducted'! As a result I chose not to spend any money on any service. There was unseemly rush to get my credit card and take the money up-front. There was a Medieval Banquet for 80 people being held on the night of my arrival. I had not been told about this when I phoned the hotel to confirm my booking. Had I known this I might well have choosen another hotel. As a result the restauraunt was effectively closed to residents that evening and the suggestion was that I drove in to Kinver to find alternative sources of dinner. Not good at all.
location was superb and the staff very helpful and friendly. The shower was excellent always one of my key assessments of a good hotel.
Beautiful hotel. Well presented obviously a labour of love. Not too formal. Friendly and welcoming. No Meals on a Sunday night. No hot drink making facilities in the room. Though the staff will provide hot drinks on request.
Pretty and comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff I think 10.00am checkout on a Sunday is too early and our room was cold when we checked in at 4pm.
The hotel is in a lovely building and setting. The owners are welcoming and helpful and it's rare not to have anything to critisise!
Top hotel , great location . room spotless and modern , recommended all round .
Staff were fantastic...rooms were very comfortable. Food amazing!
A lovely hotel in a nice quiet location. The staff were very helpful and the room was very comfortable.
lovely meal -friendly staff
The hotel was as always excellent. The staff were very friendly and professional, and when in the area again will book Hogarths.
Staff were extremely attentive without being intrusive.
Easy parking. Luxurious room. Friendly staff. Lovely grounds.
Friendliness of all the staff
Helpful, approachable staff. Modern decor & food to very good standard in a traditional setting. Close to nec but in a quiet, country location. Comfortable rooms. Room could do with air conditioning
The grounds were lovely. The Bed extremely comfortable and it was great having a Jacuzzi, although it was very noisy
I did not know what to expect and was suprised about the small size of the room, limited storage, the bed infront of the radiator. I had a terrible sleep because the loud noise of the radiator in the room kept me waking up throughout the night. The room had very limited comfort.
The hotel was clean and the breakfast was good The beds were not very comfortable
Beautiful/ full of old treasures/cared for/clean/lots of nice touches/ helpful, friendly manager Everything was perfect.
Clean. efficient., economical, friendly, excellent breakfast, quiet, WiFi, character decor, excellent all round value for anyone looking for a place to lay their head in Wolverhampton. Nothing
very welcoming and excellent value for money. interesting history of the hotel and building
The rooms were clean and tidy, the breakfasts were excellent, and the manager was very helpful and pleasant. Excellent value for money! Would stay again.
High room standards , quality touches not found in many 5 star hotels, brilliant showers.Nothing, however trivial is too much trouble for Keith the manager who appears to have his 'finger on the pulse' at all times. Having to check out and return home !!!!!!
Small but comfortable room/bed, friendly personel, fresh made (simple) breakfast.
Great facilities and staff were very helpful.
