Excellent 10.0
Pros: The Glove House is luxurious, relaxing and spotlessly clean. Everything and more that you might want has already been thought about and provided. The attention to detail is second to none and the gorgeous dining room at breakfast is an outstanding experience in itself; Francesco is an attentive host who goes the extra mile with absolutely everything. The location is perfect. Woodstock is a vibrant small town with plenty of places to eat and drink. Blenheim Palace is literally on the doorstep and there is an extensive, effective bus service to Oxford. Would very highly recommend!
Cons: Nothing. Staying at the Glove House is a unique experience and well deserves its 5 star rating.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Wonderful and luxurious B&B in centre of Woodstock
Cons: Nothing everything was perfect
Good 7.1
Pros: Amazing breakfast
Excellent 10.0
Pros: It’s a lovely old building beautifully decorated and the owners are wonderful hosts. It is also in the perfect location for visiting Blenheim Palace & the local area
Cons: Nothing to dislike
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The whole experience of staying at the Glove House was lovely. Comfortable beds and lots of little touches like Fresh milk in a flask for the tea instead of powdered milk. It is our second time staying there and we will definitely be back.
Cons: Nothing at all. Everything was perfect.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Perfect location close to Oxford, spacious rooms with everything you need. The copper bath was stunning! The breakfast was so delicious and the hosts were very friendly. I cannot recommend it enough and it’s a shame the stay was only 1 night. It’s rare to stay somewhere as nice as this.
Cons: Nothing except the bed was 2 singles pushed together.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Absolutely stunning boutique hotel. The whole place was immaculate and Francesco could not do enough for us. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back
Cons: It was perfect
Excellent 9.2
Pros: We had a very comfortable room which had all the facilities we expected of a boutique guest house. The breakfast was excellent.
Cons: I was a little concerned that parking was in a municipal car park with a restriction of 12 hours. However, this was not in reality a problem but needs to be made clear in the information provided.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Great welcome , very attentive owner , little details matter !
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room was spacious, the bathroom was luxurious ... and the bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in.
Cons: There was nothing to not like...

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The breakfast was very good all you could eat and more the hole experience was top noch.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Rooms very clean, bed comfortable, access to a lounge, WiFi, owners very friendly.
Cons: Would’ve preferred to be asked about breakfast options on check in. Previous experiences in other B&B’s included cooked breakfast. Whilst what was on offer was good and eggs were offered after a while I’d have preferred options including bread/croissants which were just given.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: the owners here are very friendly and helpful; they greeted us with refreshments, made dinner recommendations and reservations and were flexible about timings. All in all a very pleasant experience to stay here, thank you!
Cons: the only thing I would change would be to have a black out blind as the current one does very little to reduce the light coming in, and with an east facing room it is quite bright from early in the morning.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The quality of the premises was excellent,& as we were there to visit Blenheim Palace,it was so very convenient. We also found a pub close by which we used twice, & the quality of food was excellent. Would definitely use again if we were going to the area.
Cons: Nothing - everything excellent
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Andrea made us feel very welcome with afternoon tea in the garden on arrival. The accommodation is spotless, our room was extremely comfortable and the bath was amazing. Breakfast was lovely, with rhubarb from the garden, natural yoghurt, toast, croissants and freshly brewed coffee. Would definitely recommend.
Cons: Nothing to dislike - it was perfect.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: House and lovely large garden
Cons: Would have preferred a bigger choice at breakfast
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful home. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. There were four of us and we all enjoyed our visit. Comfortable beds. Private sitting room. Lovely continental breakfast and endless coffee pot. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: We were welcomed with so much warmth, so accommodating and lovely. We felt very welcome. The house situated out of oxford away from the hustle, close to some small beautiful towns that we preferred over oxford. Tea and biscuits out in the garden on arrival, nice touch.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful house and lovely garden. Rooms and bathroom tastefully decorated and comfortable. Hosts couldn’t do enough for you and the breakfast was lovely. Excellent value for money
Cons: Nothing to dislike

Pros: Rom was good , service correct, breakfast vert good
Cons: Rom no 1 is very noisy !
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Nothing was too much for the staff. Apart from being very efficient, they were extremely warm and welcoming. The bed was one of the best I have slept in.
Cons: Can’t get a decent cup of cha out of a cup....why not mugs? Towel rail didn’t work and gushed water when switched on. No chest of drawers and radio and TV remote needed new batteries (not checked before we arrived. No instructions as to how to work the aircon system.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything, we loved the boutique feel. There were lots of small touches ,wooden tooth brushes were a first for us , the small glass jar with milk by the door in the morning for your coffee. The breakfast was amazing , worth every penny! Shower was a good size as well as the bedroom with king size bed and sitting area.
Cons: Can’t think of anything .
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Nice modern decor in a typical old stone building , well equipped room with Apple TV, Bose Bluetooth speakers and big en-suite with a roll top bath and walk-in shower
Cons: Nothing to dislike
Excellent 9.6
Pros: It was a large attractive room, which we were able to book at a good price for the Crown. As we were not expecting to be spending the night away from home , the little touches like bamboo complimentary toothbrushes and toothpaste were very useful. Our room faced the courtyard at the back. This meant that we heard less traffic noise early in the morning. A number of rooms in Woodstock can be noisy in the morning.
Cons: Nothing.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: really comfy bed
Cons: attic room - nice but a bit cramped with the sloping ceilings but the bed made up for it!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything! Another fantastic stay at The Crown. Wonderful facilities and staff. Amazing attention to detail and real value for money.
Cons: If I had to pick something, I would wish for a nespresso machine in the room - but that's only if I'm being picky!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: 2nd visit, if i could , i would stay there forever. This time they even resolved the issue of noise from the street: clever solution!
Cons: Can’t think of anything
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Gorgeous room with the most amazing staff and a wonderful restaurant
Good 7.9
Pros: Room size and very large comfortable bed

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The ambience, decor, quietness at night, comfy bed, welcoming and helpful staff, quality of food and the menu.
Cons: We found the Telephone signal was variable - although this is not the responsibility of the Bell
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room was modern & clean. The restaurant & food was wonderful in a lovely location. A very charming property and I will return.
Cons: I have no complaints.
Excellent 9.7
Pros: Beautiful and quite just outside oxford with a bus stop almost every 30 minutes going into town.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: food very good, and very quaint
Cons: only bath no shower
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Everything, friendliness of staff, the room, the bed, the shower. Milk in a flask for breakfast tea. Lovely breakfast.
Cons: A few more English breakfast t bags in the room.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: The Bell is a lovely old pub set in a great location. The staff were accommodating and very friendly and the room a good size and clean. The highlight of the visit was the food !! Although it wasn't cheap in this instance you certainly get what you pay for. The quality of the local produce was excellent and the lamb dish was superb the best I've ever tasted.
Cons: There was a fairy busy road outside with lorries but it didn't really affect me personally as the wine was good also !!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely room, clean modern bathroom and incredible evening meal. Staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful
Okay 5.8
Cons: Rooms low and small.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff and dinner were excellent
Cons: Noise from kitchen extractor
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Lovely location
Cons: The food wasn’t as good as the last time we visited...
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The room was really nice, like a little cottage inside. Great size, comfy bed, plenty of parking.
Cons: The only thing I could mark this place down on would be that there is only a bath and no shower, but everything else was faultless.

Pros: The superior deluxe double was a fabulous size room. Walking distance of Blenheim Palace. Thoughtfully a fan was provided as we stayed during the August heatwave.

Pros: Excellent room couldn't fault it

Good 7.1
Pros: The staff were friendly and welcoming. Handy car park. Nice breakfast room.
Cons: Our room needed refurbishing. The room was at the front of the hotel, and was noisy unless we shut the windows, when it got very hot.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Fabulous room. Bed was very comfortable. The Room had everything you could possibly need. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. There was a sumptuous feast for breakfast. Food cooked and presented well. Will definitely go back again next year!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This beautiful property was a pleasure to stay in. Our room was superb and met our every need. The bed was absolutely super comfy and a super king size as well, yet there was still plenty of room for a lovely little sofa too. The location couldn’t have been more perfect - right on the quaint little high street, with wonderful pubs and restaurants and Blenheim Palace literally a couple of minutes’ walk away. Fantastic cooked breakfast as well!
Cons: Can’t fault it!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great place to stay.lovely hosts
Okay 4.2
Pros: The location was good, close to Blenheim palace and Oxford.
Cons: It was right on a busy street with a bus stop right under our windows, and all family rooms facing on the busy street. My son could not sleep during the night at all. It was terribly hot and they only had one small fan in a room which was not sufficient to cool anyone down. I had to cut our stay short and was expected at least one night refund, but got nothing. I had to let 2 nights go, because the conditions were unbearable, and I had to rent another hotel with AC. It could be different if the weather would be different, but the hotel was completely not ready and prepared to accommodate any change based of our miserable situation.

Pros: Great choice for breakfast and food was delicious. Wonderful location and our room looked out over the square. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Extra late breakfast (until 12pm) - great for those who love a lie in! Staff were great, the pub is charming and reasonably priced, and located in the heart of Woodstock
Cons: You can hear people moving about in the rooms next door, but there are only a few rooms so it wasn't too much of a problem
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The room was ready early, very comfortable and nicely appointed. Also had a lovely evening meal. Staff were very attentive and helpful.
Good 6.7
Pros: Central position. Quaint and in keeping with the area and its history.
Cons: Although the room was comfortable and had all the right conveniences, I felt it lacked something in a £150 nightly charge. Towels felt damp. Tiny double bed, ok for us but not for a person on the taller or larger side. Stairs could be a problem if there was any limitations re mobility. Enjoyed our visit but would not chose The Star again.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely old pub with nice clean rooms, new bathroom. Good food in the pub itself and perfect location in the centre of Woodstock.
Cons: Very steep staircase up to the bedrooms - could be a problem if not very mobile.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Location is ideal for Blenheim Palace. Building has lots of character, staff are friendly.
Cons: The only negative was it was it was pricier than I would have liked. However, it was fully booked so people are paying the price.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Great location very close to Blenheim Palace and on Woodstock high street.
Cons: Parking is always a problem in Woodstock.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything
Cons: The room was clean and lovely. It is not a large room , as it's own on suite, but makes up with the hospitality. Can't do enough to make sure you was happy. First class English breakfast, 5 minute walk to blenheim place and saw lots of buses to Oxford. Small town but lovely and friendly. Totally recommend the hotel.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Friendly staff, good position near Blenheim palace and places to eat.
Cons: Bathroom was shabby but clean, needs some attention particularly a new basin as was badly cracked.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: A lovely personal welcome, a great location, really friendly, competent and helpful staff and a fabulous breakfast.
Cons: Minor detail, but the bathroom in our ensuite needed a little attention to maintenance, not picked up by housekeeping. The owners have welcomed my well-intended message on this, and have said all will be fixed.
Good 7.5
Pros: Very welcoming and friendly staff and great location. Room very clean and full of character. Breakfast was good and great service.
Cons: I was in Room 6 with my 2 daughters. Their twin beds were comfortable, but the sofa bed was very uncomfortable and I slept badly. It seems to be broken and beds replacing
Good 7.5
Cons: The cleaning of the room during the stay was minimal
Good 7.5
Pros: Lovely breakfast
Excellent 9.2

Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lots of character & very comfortable & good breakfast & lovely staff.
Cons: Toiletries could be a little better.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: The location staff and the overall access of the building were all excellent.
Cons: The TV was tiny in the room and not particularly accessible.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: We were attending an event at Blenheim Palace, and as the Blenheim Buttery was literally a short stroll around the corner we could't have been better located. The hotel itself was quaint, clean and comfortable, with modern facilities. Breakfast was good (although fresh orange juice would have been better than from concentrate). Overall, a good experience, if somewhat expensive at £145.
Cons: No air-conditioning, but as it wasn't too hot it wasn't a problem. Towel rail next to the sink would have been nice.

Pros: Fabulous all round
Okay 5.0
Pros: Location, vibe, artwork, gin bar
Cons: Told we had been upgraded but had booked a superior double anyway. Bathroom pokey, toiletries only for 1. Bathrobes Very worn. Floor wonky so you both roll to one side of bed. Poor decor, flaking. Pillows stank of previous occupants mouth dribble had to ask to have them changed. Left room after lunch with make up room sign displaying. Returned six 30, no service. A receptionist made up bed, but no clean towels, toiletries or more milk for coffee set up. This place needs some tlc a nd better supervising.
Okay 5.8
Pros: Great location. Gentleman in the bar ....Octvaious? ...was great.
Cons: The service was hit & miss. We were asked if we would like to see the pudding menu and said yes please, then never saw another member of staff in the restaurant. Also, we were very hot during the night. And on inspection, the bed has a plastic backed mattress cover. Not nice.
Good 7.5
Pros: We liked the garden and restaurant. Breakfast was lovely and also all the staff were very helpful and competent.
Cons: Unfortunately, we had the worst room in the hotel, room 26. I say this in terms of the noise not the decor. However there was also no window, only a fire escape and just outside on the wall was an a very loud extractor fan that came on at 5am! It was like trying to sleep on an aircraft. You could not have the fire escape window/doors open. It was also had been a very hot day and then night. There was a new air conditioning unit in the room however we were unable to operate it aas there were no instructions! We did try! We complained about the lack of sleep before checking out but only our comments were noted. Nothing has been done since and we have not been contacted by The Feather's.
Good 7.5
Pros: Comfy rooms with plenty of nice touches - toiletries and tea/coffee provided.

Pros: The place was absolutely fantastic... the staff were excellent and the breakfast was delicious x

Pros: Beds very comfy! And location wonderful. Staff were friendly & welcoming.
Cons: Blind was broken, & when we moved the coffee machine to use it, it was very apparent that this hadn't been moved in quite sometime to be cleaned!! Lots of dust & hair!
Good 6.3
Pros: Location and Dyson fans in room which were a necessaty
Cons: Not enough staff , had to wait far too long to order a meal , offered complimentary drink , male waiter/manager rushed off feet , not his fault.. Not much choice to menu , stayed fullers before, very disappointed as room price far too high for what’s on offer ..
Good 7.5
Pros: Location
Cons: N/a
Good 6.7
Pros: The position of the hotel and friendly staff. Woodstock is an attractive village.
Cons: We were on second floor but there is no lift. My husband is a fit 80 and could manage all the luggage but I found the stairs a struggle. There was no car park though we were assured beforehand that there was one. A miscommunication. Managed to find a space opposite on the street and next day walked the mile to Blenheim so as not to lose our place. We had dinner when we arrived. Watch out for fishcakes ! My husband got just one in the middle of a large plate, more like a posh starter. But my fish and chips was abundant so I passed him some of my meal. We dined elsewhere next night. Breakfast service was scrappy. We asked for bacon and eggs and toast. The bacon and eggs arrived but got cold before the toast arrived. There was no fruit on offer although it was on the menu. Next morning still no fruit ! Staff kindly supplied an apple but it was Granny Smith - hard and sour.
Good 7.9
Pros: Excellent location. Quaint.
Cons: Top-floor bedroom was unbearably stuffy. They provided 2 Dyson Airblades which were good at cooling the room but were too noisy to sleep with. The bath/shower wasn't non-slip and there was no non-slip mat, making it potentially dangerous.
Good 6.3
Pros: Stylish bedroom. Bottles of water available. Nice coffee machine in bedroom. Good bath, plenty of hot water. Staff were good. Room was clean.
Cons: Bedroom was airless and needed Dyson fan on all the time. Only one chair to sit on in bedroom. Only one bedside table. No shelves to store things in bathroom. Dining room chairs were shabby. Breakfast a bit hit and miss, for example, no ham for Eggs Benedict, no porridge - both advertised on menu. Overpriced wine for evening meals - £18 for a half bottle of a blended Malbec was too expensive for a very ordinary wine
Good 7.1
Pros: The location was good and the room very comfortable and clean. The dyson fans made the rooms cool in hot weather. The staff tried hard to please.
Cons: Waiting 30 minutes for coffee at breakfast and then almost an hour for food whilst the girl on duty struggled with the computer was unacceptable. The general lack of staff and disorganization hampered the smooth running of a lovely hotel. We were charged for food and drink we didn’t have and then had considerable difficulties in retrieving the overpayment,as no staff were qualified to make a refund. We paid three visits and three phone calls to the hotel before the issue was resolved.
Good 6.7
Pros: Perfect location
Cons: Room was a bit small, smelt musty, probably needs updating
Good 7.9
Pros: Lovely beds, nice food, great location
Cons: Good food but not enough staff to cope without seeming flustered!

Excellent 9.2
Pros: Comfortable, clean and lovely setting.
Cons: Chaotic service in dining room in the evening but more particularly during breakfast. Cold buffet food, very slow service, repeated requests from us and other guests to obtain basic requirements eg cutlery + 45 minute wait for poached eggs. We all had breakfast at our table at separate stages rather than served together. This appeared to be the case at each table. One elderly couple commented they found the process of securing breakfast ‘exhausting.’ Seemed to be severe staff shortage with one very helpful and relentlessly well mannered member of staff desperately trying to manage both the service and guests mounting requests / complaints. Apart from this chap, the staff appeared to have been either very poorly trained or were entirely oblivious to the basic skills required for working in a restaurant. Utter chaos.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Very comfortable room (18). Generous water x 2 each day Good parking Quiet
Cons: Dinner- steak seemed as if it had been cooked from frozen. A medium rare was charred on outside, but uncooked on inside, but no juices or flavour. Bit chaotic at breakfast. Several complaints from customers, plates not hot, lack of food etc. asked for more tea, twice, eventually came on third ask. But..... Breakfast ended at 10am. At least three tables arrived just before and then seemed disgruntled when there was a lack of food. The chap in charge, who was very nice, was offering to have full English breakfasts cooked freshly for the unhappy punters. They actually should have arrived on time. He did very well under obviously difficult situations, but maybe the end of breakfast should have been just that.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Much bigger and nicer room and bathroom than I'd expected at the price, from previous experience at staying at other similar properties in Woodstock.
Cons: Excellent hot breakfast, well presented at the buffet stand, was slightly let down by being only luke warm...easily fixed with serving on hot plates from a plate warmer?
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great local bread at breakfast.
Cons: BUFFET breakfast....COLD PLATES COLD FOOD such a shame as quality products.
Okay 5.4
Pros: Location because it’s within walking distance of Blenheim Palace and it has a car park
Cons: Check in and check out was a shambles (both times wrong prices/bill and very slow). Room (on the ground floor adjacent to the car park) was dark, musty and noisy (could hear people walking around their room upstairs, doors opening and closing etc) and this was supposed to be a ‘good’ room ie. more expensive. The bar wasn’t really manned with staff who knew what or how to serve drinks or how to charge for them and the breakfast was a farce. We entered the restaurant at 9.15 am (breakfast allegedly available between 7 to 10 am) and the hot buffet was bereft of food. Eventually, the various warming containers were refilled but not adequately as there was a large queue of fellow diners and it all went very quickly. And, the bread was stale as well as a pastry I tried. All in all, poor.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was fine, there was plenty of food even though we were quite late. I gather some people had complained about a lack of food but we found it fine. There was cereal, fruit and hot food too. I asked for toast and a selection of brown and white appeared very quickly. We enjoyed it. Room was spacious and bed comfy. Large TV and a fridge too. Perfect.
Cons: Nothing, had a great time.
Okay 5.4
Pros: Room was cosy but dark. Bar was a nice design and style . Dinner was ok
Cons: Room too dark, dining room too dark and like a pub dining room . Breakfast was pretty awful.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable as were the facilities. The location was perfect and the staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful.
Cons: The bathroom could’ve been a lot cleaner and there were a few items that needed repairing in the bathroom. Also the breakfast was ok, but I’d advise going down early as the choice was limited later on.
Good 7.9
Pros: Fantastic location....fab breakfast too
Cons: Rooms badly need modernising. Glad I didn't stay in summer...saw there were fans but room too warm. Pillows much too soft...previously stayed in other hotel in Woodstock which was 5 star!!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The cosy atmosphere and the excellent location in lovely Woodstock.
Cons: Nothing to complain about really.

Cons: The bed needs to be bigger. It is only a double so for two grown adults it was just too small

Pros: Great Location for Blenheim Palace event. Food was really good. Car parking on site.
Cons: Rooms could do with a good freshening up.. little tired.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Good value for money room in central Woodstock as part of friendly pub. Great for overnight stay. Room clean but a little small but more than enough for a short trip. Staff friendly and bar pleasant with good beers.

Excellent 9.6
Pros: I was working in Oxford for a few days and need somewhere to stay - i was only guest staying so had the place to myself, it was my 2nd stay here and it was very good. Large flat screen TV downstairs with Netflix and very good selection for breakfast which is self service. I would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Nothing.
Good 7.5
Pros: Cost..
Cons: Nothing really.
Good 6.3
Pros: The place was clean, the food adequate and the area felt safe. The shower was good.
Cons: No sign outside property indicating it was a Guest House so not easy to find. No one at the property at the advertised check in time and contàct phone number on 'answer phone' at first attempt to ring (responded at second attempt a few minutes later). Self-service breakfast involved going to the kitchen and finding ones own food, cutlery, bowls (finally located in dishwasher) etc. Only one relatively small dining table to sit at with the other guests. TV in room was on bedside cabinet at the head of the bed such that to view it one needed to sit side ways on the bed to view it. The TV in the lounge was missing a battery from the control so we could not use that as an alternative.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Clean bedding. Clean dining area, well equipped kitchen
Cons: We arrived and rang the owner to get the code for the key box. There was no answer for a good 15 minutes. We finally got a message with details of the code. Today (8th July) we received an email with the details. 2 days too late. Our bedroom (No 5) had a really strong smell of disenfectant (TCP). Opening the windows made no difference. The shower on the ground floor looked like someone had been cleaning trainers in there. The ground floor toilet and shower room was a bit grubby, so we didnt use the shower and just cleaned our teeth in the sink.
Mediocre 3.3
Pros: Public transport to Oxford very nearby.
Cons: Not too clean, breakfast isn't very hygienic and you have to take care by yourself. My door was completely broken. Very small room. No clothe hangers so wardrobe was useless
Good 7.5
Cons: Having to cross the hall to the bathroom an ensuite would have been better. An outside sign is needed. The Rose's growing across the gate way.
Good 6.3
Pros: Clean, plenty of things to eat at breakfast but in future we will not stay here again and another guest said the same thing.
Cons: One of the rooms we booked (Room 1) had the top two screws missing from the outside door handle and one of the door panels had been partially smashed, as if someone had tried to break into the room. The door lock didn't work every time, maybe as a result of the damage, or maybe because someone got locked inside the room and someone tried to break though the door. I texted the owner and the person who looks after the property, immediately after arrival, to tell them about the damage but they didn't reply. Communication before we arrived was poor ... only when I texted the owner a few days before we arrived did we get any information about our room numbers and how to access the house. When the owner & housekeeper replied, they were both polite & helpful, though. The house is noisy ... when people talk in their rooms, you can hear their conversations. The laminate floors creak when people walk about. The bathroom door sticks and you have to push hard to shut it and pull to open it, which makes noise in the night when people use the toilet. Not good.
Mediocre 3.8
Cons: This place is not a lodge. It is a normal house and no one is about. They are at the end of a phone and sound foreign which is rather strange. I was in the whole house alone and weirdly it has a number of bedrooms all lockable but it is by no means a lodge. The whole experience was a weird one and although I used my card to book I will not stay at a place like that again it was way over priced for what it actually was. False advertising comes to mind
Okay 5.8
Pros: The location is convenient!
Okay 4.6
Pros: Breakfast was self serve continental so I had what I wanted and there was a reasonable selection
Cons: Nowhere near 5 star. No table or chair in the bedroom, both taps on the tiny sink in the downstairs toilet were loose, there was no plug in the sink and the mirror (which had been placed on the cistern) had to be put on the radiator in order to have a shave. Wooden floors meant that whenever any of the guests were walking around it was noisy. The front door was extremely difficult to unlock once the key had been extracted from the black box outside the front door. Grossly overpriced and an experience I have no intention of repeating.

Excellent 8.8
Pros: Right next to the canel houseboats, walk along the canel. quaint. Loved it
Cons: No shelf to put toiletries. Sockets need usb ports
Good 7.9
Pros: The staff members were excellent. Mark, and especially Anna, made us feel really welcome. Also, the food was excellent, as was the bar service.
Cons: The room was pretty basic, and it had one major flaw. The water in the shower surged randomly from very hot to very cold. It was impossible to find a moderate setting.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location for visiting the area. Large, clean comfortable room. Staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was great, nothing too much trouble for staff. Great value for money
Good 7.1
Pros: Proximity to canal & Blenheim Palace. The bar staff was lovely, dinner nice, breakfast was good.
Cons: Room smelled like ashtray. Beds were old, lumpy.
Good 6.3
Pros: Breakfast food quality good
Cons: Ignored at breakfast, served after other people, had to ask for service. Dirty plates not taken away. Very poor. We were expecting not to have to go out to get dinner. Not the case. Loud music till 11:00 pm
Good 7.9
Pros: The staff at the hotel were lovely and helpful, the hotel is in a great location near to the Park & Ride to get to the centre of Oxford. It's next to the canal which is lovely as you can stroll around the outdoor seating area.
Cons: The only negative I would give is the mattresses in our room were awful, they need to be replaced.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Food was very good Staff very nice and friendly
Cons: Room cleanliness was very average.
