This turned out to be more luxurius than we expected for the price we got on booking.com. Huge room with a great king-sized bed, lovely swimming pool and jacuzzi downstairs, flat screen TV with in-room movies... we stayed at the hotel more than we expected during our Bantry visit. Bit of a strange setup - there are three separate sets of elevators - one to rooms, one to suites, and one to the car park. If you use the wrong one, you end up lifting your luggage up sets of stairs.
The staff could not have been more helpful, friendly and polite. The food was also of a good standard especially the breakfast. We had a great time in the bar and my wife was very impresssed with the wine selection. Our room was clean and spacious with all the necessary facilities The bed was not very comfortable and the pillows were quite hard

The first thing tnat struck me about this hotel was the internal design. It is thoroughly modern, and all aspects of the decor integrate seamlessly, producing a pleasing unity throughout the Hotel. Although it is thoroughly modern, it evokes a deeply traditional atmosphere, and sitting before the leaping flames of the fire in the foyer, glass in hand, one could imagine oneself as a United Irishman in 1796, anxiously awaiting the arrival of Wolfe Tone and the French Fleet in the Bay, bringing Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité! I think this is an exceptional hotel in the way it combines the past with the modern. Then the staff were excellent; friendly, helpful, welcoming.
The decor and general condition of the hotel Food was disappointing. Breakfast was over crowded, rushed and food over-cooked. Meal at bar was not cooked fully.

A comfortable and well presented room, with all expected facilities. A basement car park with an intellectually challenging lift link to certain rooms !. Menu and food preparation in retaurant seemed to suffer as result of mid week special offer.
The stairs and elevators are very confusing
The Maritime is an elegant hotel, more than anything I enjoyed the design of the room and the view. Even though the hotel is large I always felt my space was private, which is a good feeling. On arrival the bathroom bin was full - apart from this everything was faultless.
My partnet and me are very disapointed of the porr service received last weekend at your hotel. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the morning disrupting our sleep for about 10-15 minutes. When the next day we informed reception about the event the response was disapointing: 'I cannot have control of the fire alarm' the receptionist said. In the lobby the fire place stopped working when my partmer and me sit in there; any member of the staff came to switch on the fire place and when we eventually asked to please do so the response of the receptionis t was: 'Oh, this fire place doesn't work well'. Then he unsuccesfully tried to use a remote control to switch the fire place and let us in the cold after tryinf gor less than 2 minutes. In the night the room wasn't warm.

Relaxed atmosphere, nice walks in the grounds. walking distance from Bantry Bedroom very basic, but clean.

Leisure facilities & meals I thought the rooms were in need of some decor.
Staff friendliness Bedrooms beginning to show 'age'. Some updating/minor maintenance (e.g. toilet cistern in room 221) needed.
It was a great location and great facilities i.e. pool, sauna etc. I hear the food is excellent but unfortunately we never got to sample the restaurant.
The food was very good and we also enjoyed the leisure centre.
company and leisure centre Customer service was poor. Receptionist was disinterested and gave incorrect responses to queries (ie no key at reception when there was and I had to wake people up before I realised) she gave wrong times for leisure centre and printed off incorrect checking out details. She appeared to not want to be there. Other services - restaurant in morning having to order food and again some staff unhappy to be there or serve customers.
