The hotel was stylish yet comfortable. The staff were excellent the hotel restaurant was expensive ( 6 EUR for a coffee)
A beautiful building built in a cream coloured stone, the interior is all cream, white or oatmeal. Soft lighting everywhere. Really comfortable bedrooms. The hotel is not yet finished - apparently it is due to be completed for next season, i.e. spring 2011. It has only one restaurant and it is the same menu for lunch and dinner which is expensive. Service is not yet at the 5 star level.
Lovely architecture and excellent service The rooms were a little small for a 5star hotel and did not have dvd players or bathroom scales and the menu in the restaurant was very limited and did not change during the 7 nights we stayed there.
the views were awesome the breakfast was bad . not much selection
The hotel is very close to the park. This is a great advantage if you need to make it early to the park because, after the early hours of the morning the park gets really crowded. The personnel waiting the breakfast tables did not know any English. This caused a problem. Part of the breakfast served to the Italian customers was not served to us because we did not know how to ask for it in Italian. They had only one English TV channel. All the rest were Italian channels. We had booked a double room but, with the extra bed for the kids, the room got pretty small.
The view was beautiful, it is as close to the Zoosafari as it can get and parking was convenient. I personally didn't like the buffet at the hotel restaurant, but the pasta was delicious as well as the fruit.
very close to ZooSafari and amusement park, the location is good even for the visit of the many attractions within 20kms. Relaxing atmosphere in the lovely garden with 3 pools. very friendly and helpfull staff! our 4 beds-room was smaller than a triple of our friends travelling with us, would be better to fit 4 beds in the larger rooms... breakfast too poor!
It was very kid friendly with an on staff helper to keep kids busy. Great pool...huge! And the kids loved it because of the slow slopping grade to the bottom like a beach, so even the ones that didn't swim had a huge area for water fun. Helpful staff, great food, bar near the pool...buffet lunch everyday...big spacious beautiful rooms all with huge verandas.
Extremely helpful staff and a stunning hotel. Excellent food.
wonderful setting and swimming pool, beautiful rooms. Some staff members really got out of their way to please us. They have let us keep the room through the afternoon with no surcharge. they probably need more staff. Nobody there to help us with lugguage at arrival or attending the pool bar. No pool towels. Room service charged at 18 Euros even just for a coffee!
beautiful swimming pool and pool area, quiet and relaxing atmosphere, not overcrowded with people (eventhough we were there during the month of August when all the Italy is overcrowded) beaches are closeby (10 min by hotel shuttle) but those are not very nice. Public ones are so crowded you can hardly move there and the only private one (with a very nice Greek taverna) unfortunatelly doesn´t have a proper entrance to the see, there are stones and you have to climb the stairs to swim in the sea.
The location (perfect to visit Alberobello, Castellana Grotte, Ostuni, ZooSafari and even Matera There was no heating in the room (4star hotel ?)
Pleasant setting and generally no complaints The bedding was not changed in our 4 day stay and all the other hotels we stayed in on this trip were changed daily. This hotel was a little impersonal towards its guests and favoured its wedding bookings pushing the ordinary guest aside
We have been at Sierra Silvana 7 days with two little kids and we could have had so many problems.... but we had none. The location is good for all sort of leisures: clean and big swimming pool, close to the private beach reacheable with the hotel bus, hiking, sightseeing. The restaurant is ok and the breakfast is top class, but what has impressed us the most it is the personnel: everybody was very attentive and caring, even if the hotel was full of guests. Difficult to find a parking place near the private beach
sierra silvana hotel is a full 4 stars hote.
Setting of hotel, spaciousness, pool (had it been warm enough to use it!) gardens and room. Impersonal, and no heating at the end of September - when it's usually very warm, but during our week was as chilly as the UK. They put it on in our room after I said it wasn't good enough for a 4 star hotel, but I don't think it went on elsewhere, not even in public rooms! Food unexceptional, but what you would probably expect from a large package hotel.
peaceful setting to relax
Attitude of staff was deplorable. Hotel oriented towards coach parties and staff appear to resent anyone who does not fit into the pattern of such groups. Very unfriendly, unlike people in the region generally.
Beautiful surroundings, good food and service
The hotel move four times de room (1; 34; 33 and 24)
the hotel itself is amazing. Really special without being the sightest bit stuffy. The food. It was too expensive. Great food in italy is not expensive. We were eating 5 and 6 euro pastas for dinner that were fabulous and then to arrive at the masseria where pasta was 30 euro seemed a masive jump. The food was very nice but also quite formal and fancy. After the amazing breakfast they serve and the great beach club lunch on offer you don;t need a big 3 course meal every night for dinner. I think they should have soem more casual options for dinner. Not just about price, sometimes I felt like a simple italian meal.. that is what italian food is about, simple ingredients in season. the food was a little complictaed and overpriced for every night.
The hotel was luxurious in an extremely comfortable way. On all occasions the staff was absolutely fabulous.
We loved the landscaping with aromatic plants, the quiet, the charm, and the design of the rooms and the pool. Probably the most beautiful place we've ever stayed. Like a dream.
The hotel is beautifully designed and presented. Even though we went with two small children it was wonderfully relaxing and we were made very welcome. Its charm is no doubt due to the fact that it is family run and owned hotel. One felt that personal touch throughout, Wonderful food, service and facilities. Although not situated on the most beautiful part of the Adriatic coast, this was, nevertheless, a highly recommendable experience which we hope to repeat
Very relaxing, nice people, beautiful surroundings Really no complaints.
Relaxed atmosphere/pleasant staff/superb location Difficult to find on arrival/one of the restaurant staff was surly
Relaxation, food and drink. Atmospheric.
Quiet, peaceful, excellent pool - pleasant feel to place to help one relax. Some of the staff were very helpful - Sonya in particular - others I think were restricted by their language capabilities. Good location to explore the surrounding villages and not too far from the coast if you wanted to visit the beach. Beach club which the hotel uses is pleasant if you like sitting on crowded beaches on rows of loungers. No bar to relax in adter the pool closed. Food at restaurant was fine but a little pretentious. Guests were kicked out of pool at 5 pm one evening due to wedding party being held. Also weddings seem to restrict access to certain other areas at times. Some of the grounds needed maintenance as large areas were covered in weeds - on the whole the gardens were very pleasant though. A map of the whole location would have helped at the beginning as it took a while to find out where everything was.
Unconventional & stylish layout & location is stunning. Restaurant & housekeeping staff particularly friendly & helpful. All but two of the reception staff were unfriendly and only grudgingly helpful. Other than the restaurant for lunch & dinner, there were no facilities open to have a coffee or a drink - the rooms have mini-bars but with eye-watering prices. Guests take a decided second place to the hotel's weddings business.
Nice pool area quite, beautyfull place a good position for many sight seeing tours
Gorgeous pool, fantastic deluxe room with jacuzzi bath & lovely pine forest & trulli setting More toilet paper please
Inconsistent temperature of water. Only had a hot shower on half of the occasions. The card-operated lock on the door did not work, and was not repaired despite that being promised.
Away from the crowds in a wonderful setting No bar open, told had no staff. No hot water in our room for three days.
the infrastructure, the place, the staff...all was exellent nothing
Very nice area, clean and comfy rooms, very nice pool. The food in the restaurant isn't very good. You need a car/scooter since there is nothing (restaurants, beach, shops, ...) within walking distance.
Lovely room, very clean, very spacious Nothing
I have taken all my expectations covered during the accomodation. In a calm, quiet environment, they serve the possibility to get relax with your mate. They have an exquisite tasted kitchen that i liked in spite of being a conservative man on tasting something new. Despite the weather was not very suitable, the pool working until 1900L was perfect for my kids. The rooms' furnishings were perfect and useful. The bathtube also was perfect in deluxe room. I enjoyed many things i have seen in this hotel. Especially in first night there was severe bad odor outside probably coming from the farms around. In Trully room there were lots of small harmless insects around. And lastly, a lounge where you can sit and drink something with your mate or lonely would be better particularly for the evenings after sunset. But those issues are really not big deal.
