The riad is just gorgeous. We had the Yamna suite and it was the most beautifull room I've seen in my stay in Morocco. It was a pleasure to spend time on the terrace. The host even packed us breakfast for the days when we left early in the morning. It was just perfect!
The place was beautiful! Very ornate and traditional Moroccan style. The staff is very nice.
You can hear everything that goes on in the place, so we felt we needed to whisper when we spoke so we didn’t disturb others. Also, the room is left open after it is cleaned so it doesn’t feel very secure.
The Riad Dar Dalila is a beautiful place, it’s charm, quiet, clean,it has very nice decor and tasty breakfast. The owner Geoffroy creates the atmosphere of this riad. He is a qenuine host, he gave us a fantastic travel route thru all the interesting places in Fez.
The whole experience... This was not a typical Riad or hotel. Geoffroy has had this place renovated into a palace! Our room was fit for royalty and was huge, with beautiful decoration and furnishings. Geoffroy is an exceptional host who strikes the balance of providing information but not being pushy perfectly. In contrast to our stay in a Riad in Marrakech earlier in the week where we felt continually pressured to book excursions and to leave tips for the staff, staying at Dar Dalila was a peaceful haven... Geoffroy provided us with an early breakfast on the day of an early start tour and he gave recommendations for restaurants and activities without being pushy or expecting tips. The whole place feels like Geoffroy's home and you feel privileged to be a part of his world for a short while, with enjoyable music playing and incense burning in the evenings and interesting conversation whenever you want it. I believe this place is excellent value for money and you can really see that Geoffroy has created it through passion rather than business - he could charge much higher prices for such a place but is so down to earth and fun to chat with. The location is also excellent - within 10 minutes you can be in the heart of the medina but you're away from the noise and hustle and bustle at night, surrounded by mountains and natural beauty. I would recommend this experience to anyone - it was a highlight of our time in Morocco. Thank you, Geoffroy!
The only thing I didn't like was that we hadn't booked to stay for longer !!
It's a cute and traditional Dar, located close to the Medina - Fes's most attractive part. The Host is welcoming, nice and open to give suggestions and accomodate any request. In fact, first of all, he spontaneously recommended us a nice guide for the city tour - super suggested! - and few good restaurants. Some days before coming, I also asked about the opportunity to have gluten free breakfast and he prepared me delicious gluten free crêpes.
