I had reserved a room with double queen beds, but upon check-in was told that the hotel was "oversold" and could not only give me a room with one king bed. After much discussion, the gentleman claimed he looked again and found a double queen bed room and could offer it to me for an upgrade rate of $50/night. I unhappily accepted, but was able to remove the charge with a different gentleman upon checking out. I felt that I was being treated unfairly and inaccurately by the first person who checked my family in on 2/1719.
The hotel is of relatively modest size. The lobby has been remodeled (not sure when) and is very very nice. Has a Tahoe lodge look, is dimly, but adequately lit, and is very welcoming. Our room did not have the best view, so we requested an upgrade. The manager on duty offered us one of their cabins by the lake as a free upgrade. Initially, we declined, but changed our mind. Not only did they give us the free upgrade, but they did the same for our friends! Thanks to Taylor, who was very gracious, professional and friendly. The room we initially had was on the fourth floor and did not have a view of anything but the roof and ventilation equipment. That was remedied, however.
Facilities were nice, and staff was friendly. Not impressed with Lone Eagle Grille. Hostess and waitstaff were not competent. Gave us a wine list on a locked iPad. Did not provide the correct dinner menu. Options were limited, with few fresh vegetable options. Cafe was uncomfortable with hovering waitstaff.
Pool area Wait staff not the friendliest at times
The pool was an outdoor heated pool but wasn't warm enough. The property is very spread out, which is nice but can be difficult at the end of the day with young children.
Room was excellent, very clean, stylish, comfortable. Loved the restaurant across the street, great food, great live music, great cocktails. Room was a little too warm, couldn't adjust thermaostat.
The location was perfect near a lot of small towns and restaurants. Didn't like there was no complementary breakfast at least a continental breakfast but it's okay found a great bf place in town.
Cleanliness Facilities Staff Restaurant Complentary champagne at check in. We staid in room 346 , beside the fact that we had to walk a lot to get to the room , the way the bathroom was built was no way you can get any heat in there , the showers were a nightmare to take. He had to keep the heat at 78 in room to get not even 68 in the bathroom. I was disappointed with the room we got, because I know for sure the hotel was not busy 1.5 weeks before Christmas. Overall I would recommend the hotel but not the room 346
The first few days of my stay I was solo and was there for business. My wife flew in for the weekend and we had a great stay at our home away from home. The Hyatt in Incline always does a great job and has the best staff of anywhere I have stayed. Keep doing a GREAT job. One elevator was not working for a couple of days on Presidents weekend which made for very long lines and wait times. Need to reinstall the chandeliers at the Loan Eagle.
Great location. Beautiful beach. Enjoyed the paddle board and kayak rentals.
Loved the location, just a mile or two from our family we were visiting. Heater worked well on a cold night. Coffee maker in room. Bare bulb light fixture and cob webs behind the bathroom door in 205, too soft bed for old backs, breakfast room was a dark cave where we had to resupply items by searching under cupboards as no staff was evident, overpriced based on our travel experience(S (we understand it's the LOCATION but it shouldn't be more than $100/night even given Incline Village, not $168 with tax!)
The staff is nice, the amenities, breakfast, and look of the rooms are nice. The location is great. The beds were awful. My God the doubles are small and they bow. I almost rolled off multiple times. The pillows are not pliable and don't bend-- very uncomfortable. The noise from people walking around upstairs is intolerable. People might just be willing to their rooms or around inside their room but you hear every footstep from the bottom level. Maybe it's better on the top floor. 200 bucks a night I need more.
Location was great and the bed was very comfortable! I loved that fact that it was clean and our room was very spacious. A little dark, incovinient if you want to do your makeup. You can hear people in the hallway.
Nice big room- partial view of the lake. Could hear a little noise from the adjoining rooms but not too much of a problem. Very clean.
Very nice service, good breakfast and it is really close to the lake! Nice hot tub! The room was not so clean, but still ok.
Big screen tv, good view of the lake with easy access to the shore.
Very Nice Owners, Great Views
Very nice continental breakfast. Too close to the main road. Noisy starting at 6:00 am
The view of the lake! Very nice staff and clean/affordable rooms. The closeness to the street that caused some noise....but I slept very well regardless.
Great place nice remodel job, beautiful views, great staff, great price, and good breakfast.
We loved the room. It was updated, spacious and had a corner gas fireplace. The continental breakfast was better than expected, and every employee we met was extremely nice and helpful.
It was very clean Its a bit old.
We stayed two nights on the first floor by the pool. The room was very clean. Maid service was very good. The beds were firm and comfortable. If you like typical continental breakfasts (sweet rolls, waffles, a couple of cereal choices, juice, coffee, etc.), then this is convenient in the morning. But I'd recommend driving east a couple of miles to the Blue Onion or the Log Cabin Cafe for a more memorable breakfast if it is within your budget. Room had conveniences like mini-fridge, microwave, iron (ask for board), sink in both the bathroom and kitchen area, although there was no safe that I could find. Hotel is across the street from the beach. Did not notice any street noise in our room. The lady at the front desk was very pleasant
We stayed here at the last minute due to an incoming storm, the staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and the beds were really comfortable. We didn't have a chance to check out the neighborhood, but it looks nice and is right by the lake shore.
The hotel was good and clean. we enjoyed the stay very much.
Lakefront property Every room has a view Clean Family-run Need some updating in hot tub area; Walls are thin; Outside night lamps are too bright
The location was perfect and the room very comfortable We were there to ski 1 day and have the timing all planned out. At first we were disappointed that the free breakfast didn't start until 8, but then we figured we would change things around a bit and we could still eat before we got to the ski resort by 9:00 am. It was an issue when it wasn't open at 8, even though I called the lobby the night before to confirm I had the time right. We waited until 8:15 and the office still wasn't open, and we didn't see any movement inside, so we let for the ski resort. Of course for me, it was no big deal, but my boyfriend (who needs to eat before any activity) was pissed and luckily I was able to keep it from being a big fight. Nothing worse on a get away than a pouty boyfriend lol.....
The hotel is perfectly located right on the water, with a beautiful and enticing private beach. The room where we stayed afforded the most delicious view and as we were on the top floor we had the luxury of tall ceilings. We found the staff very friendly and helpful, and we would have liked to stay longer. We will be back! The décor in the lobby and breakfast area could use an update.
The location and the view on the lake, not to forget the very friendly owner.
Lakeside with view of Tahoe Lake from the balcony and the front room. Fantastic hostess/owner who also teaches (and rents) paddle boarding and wind surfing. Within walking distance of lakeside dining. Close to Incline and small casino. Full kitchenette makes it perfect for week long stays and extra pull down bed makes suite big enough for family trips. View on a moonlit night make the balcony alone perfect for the romantic getaway for my girlfriend's birthday. Can't say enough. Would go back for the view, location and the friendly smiling owner, even in inclement weather. Could use some upgrades of furniture, but this is small compared to the view.
Friendly staff, central location with lake views
While clean, the place needs a complete remodel. appears to be hanging on to the '70s. I would not recommend it to family members. Sorry Steps to room are too steep (ada issue) Rooms are old. The whole driveway needs regrading and paving. Office was closed when we left at 9am. there was an envelope with key taped to door indicating the office was closede since early previous evening.
The staff is awesome. Great place, great people.
The staff, quiet environment, private beach and accomendating staff. Older hotel that could use upgrades: new carpeting, DVD player on TV's, ceiling fans, and working drapes for privacy.
Price, room size, location No real complaints
No cot Noisy heater Wi Fi intermittent
I liked the price and the location. You can walk to the beach and town. We brought our own pillows which made our stay a little more comfortable.
Location. Very run down. Woukd not stsy there again.
Neal was fabulous. From the minute we got there we felt welcome! Although we did get clean towels everyday, the place could have been cleaner. This was easier to overlook, however because Neal (front desk) was so kind.
Nothing Picture crank heads at Bate's Motel. Everything was dirty and run down. There were obvious crank heads sitting outside on plastic lawn furniture in front of the rooms. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! Kayak shouldn't allow them to advertise.
It's inexpensive compared to rest of hotel's in King's beach. Mattress was awful. I couldn't sleep at all.
Very cozy room and comfy and! The Jets in the bathtub kept going off at night.
Very comfortable beds. Room very clean. Small hotel where we never saw or heard another guest. Walkable to beach, restaurants, shops & casinos. Would highly recommend. Price was higher than I usually pay. Problem with the plumbing but management compensated us.
WAS CLOSE TO WHERE I NEEDED TO BE . ALSO ONLY PLACE WITH VACANCY AT LAST MINUTE kitchennete deluxe' not . No oven. Stains on coffee pot, did not really want to sleep in bed the linens could use to be replaced. Does not look like anything has been upgraded since the 50"s Definitely would not return and wonder if there were bed bugs?
