The Scenery fron the hotel was wonderful. having breakfast, near the pool was lovely, the pool was great, the rooms comfortable, and the bus into the old town started at the hotel gate No 23. Trying to walk up the very steep entrance way after a night of drinking the local whine
nice view, good breakfast, nice hotel.
Very good pool, comfortable lounge and pleasant restaurant areas. The beds are too hard.
Good location and view. Prompt room service. Clean The main comment is that this hotel is not really a 5 star hotel rather it is a good 3 star / poor 4 Star hotel. Another point we did not like was that they did not read our request (we were honeymooning and requested to be in the Panorama blue section which is supposedly good). We got no upgrade or any special treatment because of our honeymoon in contrast to the other 2 hotels we stayed. We didn't like the breakfast time which was till 9:30, which was way too early for vacations, meaning that there was a lot of people trying to have breakfast between 9:00 - 9:30 with not enough tables to sit !!! The hotel staff was also rude on occasions. The rate was too high for what it was offered
Good quality hotel, lovely view, decent service, good room and bathroom. Hotel food was good for a buffet. Convenient for getting to beaches and into Chania, which is a lovely town. Twin beds rather than double (with separate covers) - not a big deal but a bit inconvenient even when pushed together. Also, we were staying near end of season so some things were winding down (like restaurant opening times). But very good overall.
the location of the hotel is good. the pools in the hotel is just great!!! the view of both sea view room and pool are really stunning. The food is awful!!!! and the rooms are really old, no comfortable at all. like three stars! the service of hotel staff is just ok.
Very nice hotel with a great pool area and a perfect view. Close to Chania town.
Free upgrade to executive floor - amazing semiprivate pool!! Little flexibility with timetables - hot food not served in the pool at 4:03 pm when the official time finished at 4:00 pm
Breackfast was acceptable. Awful hotel, the bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in, we got no sleep the whole night and we were refused a refund even thoiugh we did not stay the second night. The hotel is not a five star maybe a two star at most.
Location/ Ambiance / Pool Area/ Night entertainment/ Drinks/ Relaxing/ Great for Kids
Clean room with big balcony and beautiful view. Very friendly owners. Excellent breakfast served outside by the pool. Good beach and nice restaurants within walking distance. Quiet location along the small road. Credit card fee (2 % ) added to the room price.
Very quiet. The owners very sympathic.
On sunday we got a free mezzes meal, only the drinks we had to pay. Qaulity and quantity was very good and the sphere with all the geuasts was nice on the roof of the mini market shop.'The family was friendly. For famillies with little children its a good place with the swimming pool. The breakfast was continental. The bread was counted, like the small peaces of cheese and ham: three pieces bread per person, for me too less. Any way, it was a complete breakfast inclusive jus and Greek yoghurt (light). The coffee had not a nice taste, still I drank it every day. Was it made with not bottled water?
the rooms were clean.nice location an view We and our friends (4 people) prefer a room with better sea view.
Staff, breakfasts, pool were all excellent. Location was a little far from the beach and parking was a little difficult.
Silence, donkey trip, nice people N/A
That the owners were like family, and the relaxed quiet location ,views, wonderful No paper in loo
Friendly atmosphere, nice hosts and very picturesque and nice facility as well as good beaches, not large ones but on our opinion better than others we saw around Crete shore the schedule of room and linen maintenance should be adjusted, to make it done not on same weekdays but depends what was checkin - checkout date
The apartment complex provided clean and adequate facilites. The view from our spacious balcony was outstanding and a nice plus to not have an additional charge for a/c (as many apts in the area charge). Breakfast was enjoyed outdoors on a lovely terrace and always serviced by the apartment owners with a smile and friendly conversation. None
Nice quiet place, 5 min away from the seaside up the hill (but it's no problem), 10 min away from the sandy beach. Tasty breakfast. Rather big & deep pool. There is a separate one for the children. Amiable, helpful staff. Free wi-fi on the territory. It was a bit hard to find the hotel. A sign on the main road would be helpful.
Both the owners were extremely friendly, very clean and modern, rooms were cleaned every two days, (sheets too)even toilet roll replenished. Big rooms with balcony. Just off the highway and in a small town so no noisy partying. Kids loved the big pool with quite a large shallow area for smaller kids. A km walk down hill to a nice beach and all the shops, also a bus service passed very close to the hotel. Excellent value for money and also close to Chania. It would have been nice if they had a laundry room and maybe wireless internet in the rooms.
Owners hospitality and useful information about nearby locations. Poor room cleanliness.Small balcony and very close to other rooms.Problem with water in shower.
clean and good for the price, the owner was extremely nice and helpful no
Friendly owners who are now at their second year at booking.com, learning and improving. The explained the issues and the mistakes that they made with the pool, they said that next year the pool is going to look much better (as they say the pools looks a little dirty but it is not). Good for the price we paid (family of four, we slept there only one day) pool should look cleaner.
the owner was very friendly and helpful for all our needs. the studio was spacious and clean. the overall impression was nice. close enough to the highway and to the city of Chania. it is a good base for all the west part of Crete we found ants in the fridge but they disappeared when we turned it on. anyway, the owner sprayed them as soon as we told her. the location on the map of booking.com was quite wrong. it is located close to the village stadium, half way on the hill side
Mr Nikos and Mrs Kate were very pleasant and helpful. Recommended.
Everything was very good. Very helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, good breakfast. We enjoyed our stay in the hotel! I would not advise make manicure in the hotel's spa...
I appreciated to much the professionalism, courtesy and efficiency of all staff. Also, I much appreciated the quality and cleanliness of the room and the variety and quality of services. The choice of main courses of the dinner buffet is a little limited
A really professionel staff... all over. We got a nice clean Junior Suite with a beautiful Sea view - fantastic. Also a beautiful beach close up to the hotel and pool. We got a bottle of red wine include card from the staff - maybe because of our stay 3 month ealier.. "Thank you very much! - Marianna" - See you next year... no
I like the location, nice pool, room design. I am very like friendly mood of the receptionist (especially Maria). I dislike bad working bathroom equipments ( you just cannot to make proper temperature of the water in the shower, sink cannot to work properly), absence of the changing cabins on the beach, awful breakfast (small choice, bad coffee, cheap ingredients), small underground parking (do not enter there if You suffer from claustrophobia).
Staff attention and hotel location. The beach is wonderful. They charge beach chairs for guests. It shoud be free or included in the room rate.
Very close to both Iguana and Sunset beach - 2 mins walk, both clean and shallow sandy beaches. Staff very relaxed and helpful, clean and spacious apartment, nice quiet pool and bar. Lovely quiet village and close to Chania - 5€ in a taxi. Would definitely stay again!
The location is very good close to 3 beautiful beaches by foot, only 4km from Chania town. Beds were comfortable, moskito nets a plus, the pool was nice. Rooms were clean, fresh towels and sheets were provided. Renovated 2 years ago. Nice balconies. Behavior towards customers is not professional. There were two times when they tried to charge us for things that should not be charged. The internet did not work for the first week and then it worked only in the pool and not in the rooms. Kitchen was missing things like a drainer for spaggeti. Rooms were rather small and the apartment crowded for 4 people.
Since,it's Family run business. The people are very friendly. Absolutely fantastics Nothing very negative but I just want to specify that the water was spilling over from shower space. The floor had a different look but it has unforuntately created some gaps through which the water flows.
Wonderful family-owned, well-located, cosy and nice hotel designed in Crete style. Owners and staff were polite and friendly - I felt like if I was at home :) Impressions from photos are absolutelly the same like in reality just add to it inimitable smell of Crete, the chirping of cacadas, fragrance of flowers and ... perfect cappuccino&yogurt with great Crete honey for breakfast - m-mmm ))) Thank you Giannis, Nikos and the big boss Isidora - my best regards and best wishes to you! )))) Hope to see you again!
Hotel is easy to reach and has enough parking space. Rooms are medium sized, comfortable enough (we spent most of the time on the beaches) and with modest but clean bathrooms. Staff and the family that runs the hotel are friendly, helpful and forthcoming. Although not on the beach, it has a very nice view. The closest beach (±200m) is one of the best in the area (sand beach with clean sea and lot of beach bars and restaurants)
Folia was a great location;close to the beach and to Chania-buses were convenient if no car...room was very clean-the view was gorgeous...Yiannis was a very gracious and helpful host.
It had a small kitchen and a small balcony. It was good to have breakfast everyday and see the beach. Rooms are simple and clean with the basic needs.
We had a very nice stay at Folia Hotel due to the sympathetic and friendly staff/owners, the seaview, the nice although small pool, the exceptional cleanliness, the vacant sunbeds, the nice garden and the newly painted buildings. The beds were quite hard, and the surroundings were imperfect because in some places, the town of Agia Marina is quite messy. But we got used to it.
Helpful staff, proximity to the beach and main street, good internet service My room had unusually designed beds close to the wall; hurt my leg couple of times during sleep..
We used the room as a base for travelling around west crete, it is in a perfect position for that. It is close to supermarkets and restaurants. It was clean and tidy and had most things we needed. The kitchen space was small and not really adequate for cooking a meal, although it was fine for breakfasts. The room was quite small for the two of us, despite it being a 3 person room. However this was fine as we used it only for sleeping in!
absolutelya most charming, familyowned hotel The owners are VERY kind and helpful! GREAT value for the money. We'lldefinitely come back...
Beautiful area, very friendly staff. I did not feel like a stranger, I felt like home. the hotel has a traditional cretan style decoration and the gardens are beautifull. the beach is 3 minutes walk and it is really nice and well-organized. the pool has a great view in the afternoon as you see the sun entering the water.
We had an excellent experience: the hotel is in a quiet location, close to the beach, restaurants, and supermarkets, and not too far from Chania. The building is new and everything in the rooms was spotless. The best part were the owners - they were personable, always ready to help, and very knowledgeable about the area. Their recommendations were very much appreciated. This is certainly not mission critical - but a different coffee maker? ;)
It was a good base for a family with older kids. Very peaceful, with a pleasant pool. The family who ran it were very helpful and friendly. A short walk to the beach, and to the bus stop for either Chania or towns to the west. Several reasonable restaurants nearby.
we came very late at night and the owner came to peek us up from the main road. rooms are very very clean and welcoming, very friendly stuff, we had a pleasent time at the argo hotel!
Small establishment, suitable for children, well managed, good location, peaceful, beach, shops and restaurants nearby within a walking distance, friendly host, nice view, friendly and helpful staff.
Very nice and clean hotel with good facilities. Two room apartment: kitchen (including filter coffee maker!!!!) and bedroom. Also very nice balkony. Amazing swimming pool around which you can connect to the hotel's wifi network free of charge. Nice location (5km away from Chania) and very close to the beach (a really nice sandy beach). Has its own parking area (under trees) so guests with cars need not worry about parking. About 10' away from the East-West highway so it is also on a nice location to use this hotel as base for one day trips in Western Crete. Huge plus is the hotel manager (Giorgos) who was very helpful and provided a lot of information on places to visit, how to get there and (very important) where to eat.HIGHLY Recommended Lack of showercurtain
We spend a lovely week at Argo's in late August. The location of the hotel in peaceful surroundings, close to the beach and Chania was perfect for us. After a day of exploring the island, it was great to come home and relax at the pool site in the lovely garden. Argos's really gave us value for money. We especially enjoyed the company and hospitality of the owner and his family. Try the homemade moussaka.
Excellent location for quiet relaxing holiday. Staff were friendly & efficient. Rooms well equiped especially for Greece. Road leading up to appartments from the main road was quite steep. Not recommended for infirm guests.
Very friendly and kind staff, clean and spacious rooms, excellent value for money choice, near to Chania and the beaches Absolute nothing! I think it was the right choice for some days in summer Chania.
This hotel is very well placed to get the best of everything - it is only 4 - 5 km outside of Chania Town (this is a walkable distance) and it also benefits being only about 200 metres from the coastline (with some lovely beaches in the direction of Chania)! The hotel is run by a family and they are really pleasant and approachable and are easy to find around the apartment complex. Facilities are excellent there and everything is so well maintained and clean. Overall this accomodation was exellent and I would definately recommend to family and friends. We found the hotel hard to find as we drove oursselves from the airport (perhaps a sign with "Argo Apartments" off the main road would be helpful.as Makedonomahon Street is not signed off the main road).
The wonderfull place the comfortable pools. The gardens like a nature forest.
Good pool, nice location to explore the chania area and wester crete. though one must have a car. The brakfeast times, froma 8 to 10 are note vacation friendly.
Excellent service, fully eguipped double room, huge buffet breakfast, very nice surroundings, great location near the town of Chania but not too close to the extremely busy road by the sea. Ping-pong table is advertised but was not available. No real explanation given.
Excellent location, very nice surrounding area, very friendly and helpfull staff, very spacious room. One is tempted to stay in the resort complex all day. Our suite with a private pool felt smelt rather musty on the fisrt night, as though it hadn't been aired for several days. Also, beware that a private pool doesn't entail total privacy! Strangely enough, the suite did not include cooking facilities like our 'normal' double room in which we also stayed.
