The 10 best hotels in Mont-Tremblant

Discover the top hotels in Mont-Tremblant, handpicked by local expert Joel Balsam.
Joel Balsam
September 25, 2024

Mont-Tremblant was the site of Canada’s first chairlift in 1938 and continues to be one of the most popular destinations in Eastern Canada for snow sports, as well as activities like mountain biking, kayaking and more. Most of the top-rated hotels in Mont-Tremblant can be found in the Swiss-style pedestrian resort surrounding the main gondola, which is also home to plenty of equipment shops, restaurants and bars. There are also lots of terrific hotels dotted around Mont-Tremblant village, where you’ll find a local vibe and a municipal beach, as well as around the city center and Saint-Jovite. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, go for one of the properties located on the banks of the pristine lakes that are speckled all around the Laurentian Mountains. As someone who has visited Mont-Tremblant dozens of times with my friends and family, here’s my pick of the best hotels in Mont-Tremblant.

1.

Fairmont Tremblant

Address:

3045 Chemin de la Chapelle

Price:

$197-2810/night

Fresh from major renovations to its Fairmont Gold floor and outdoor pool, this is one of the best hotels in Mont-Tremblant for location, situated mere steps from the main gondola. Buy your lift ticket, select your equipment from the ski valet and glide straight into Eastern Canada’s most celebrated mountain resort. In summer, you can rent bikes and golf equipment to keep you entertained.

With its sophisticated decor, the Fairmont Tremblant is a great option for the business crowd as well, maybe moreso than its siblings in the celebrated Fairmont hotel chain.

While there are plenty of nice restaurants and bars nearby, I recommend staying in to enjoy the excellent hotel restaurant, Choux Gras Brasserie. Relaxing at the new outdoor pool after an adventure-packed day is also a good option.

2.

Auberge Le Lupin-Self Check-In

Address:

127 Rue Pinoteau

Price:

$153-261/night

Located just outside the pedestrian resort, Auberge Le Lupin is a lovely wooden chalet built in 1945, with a cozy and homey vibe. Inside, you’ll find trinkets like vintage cameras, store signs and dishware that pay homage to the history of the Laurentians.

Since this is a bed and breakfast, you’ll be served a tasty buffet to start your day, which includes pastries, fruit and eggs. While many visit for ski season, Auberge Le Lupin is also one of the best hotels in Mont-Tremblant during summer, when the B&B offers complimentary water sports activities like kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding at the private beach nearby.

It’s also close to plenty of terrific hiking and bike trails. I’m personally a big fan of the mountain biking trails around Mont-Tremblant, as they’re full of fun obstacles and challenging terrain.

3.

Hotel Quintessence

Address:

3004, Chemin De La Chapelle

Price:

$473-749/night

In terms of location, Hotel Quintessence has the best of both worlds—it’s situated just steps from the resort village and gondola, but also overlooks Lac Tremblant for a breath of fresh mountain air. But that’s not all this 5-star resort has to offer.

Each of the property’s 30 luxurious suites is vast—measuring 700 to 1,200 square feet—and comes with a wood-burning fireplace. The on-site restaurant La Quintessence serves up first-class food, while the patio is a wonderful place to sit and unwind after a day of skiing or outdoor adventures.

Speaking of relaxation, each room comes with its own therapeutic spa bath tub, while the hotel hot tub overlooks the lake. What’s more, the bar lounge is the perfect place to stop for a glass of wine, with over 4,000 bottles housed in the vast wine cellar.

4.

Le Pimbina

Address:

1239 Labelle Street

Price:

$141-227/night

One of the best hotels in Mont-Tremblant for cozy B&B vibes, checking in at Le Pimbina feels more like arriving at a friend’s house than a hotel. Hosts Roxanne and Patrick are extraordinarily welcoming and make a terrific breakfast, which keeps loyal guests coming back time and time again.

Inside, it feels like a typical Quebecois home, with the added benefit of on-site massages and a hot tub in the garden. The hotel is located in Saint-Jovite, close to the city center, which offers a more authentic experience as well as cheaper prices than the areas around the gondola—a good option for those on a budget. You’ll also be close to one of the best food experiences in the region, Casse-Croûte d’en Haut, a typical Quebec fries-shack that serves an awesome poutine, made with golden French fries, savoury gravy and cheese curds.

5.

Maison Napoléon

Address:

2316 Chemin du Village

Price:

$138-241/night

Avid skiers Martha and Ben run this cute five-room wooden chalet. Maison Napoléon has authentic Quebecois vibes, but done well—clearly, these two have an eye for design. There’s gorgeous exposed wood throughout the chalet, stylish decor and an expansive back deck with a hot tub and barbecue.

The Tremblant room is my top pick, with a king-size bed, an antique Tabriz Persian rug and a vaulted A-frame ceiling. Maison Napoléon is located on the road between Mont-Tremblant village and the resort, providing easy access to the resort’s ski lift as well as the great food and local vibes in the village, making this one of the best hotels in Mont-Tremblant for location.

Be sure to pop into La Sandwicherie Cafe & Bistro for a coffee and a bite, or to pick up a local bottle of wine.

6.

Hotel Mont-Tremblant

Address:

1900 Chemin du Village

Price:

$98-192/night

Located in the heart of the village, this is the ideal place for those looking for a truly authentic stay. The hotel boasts a classic-looking exterior, which dates back more than a century. Inside, guests can choose from 16 updated and comfortable rooms that are more fairly priced than many of the other hotels in the area.

On the ground floor, you’ll find the much-loved local drinking spot Au Coin Pub Gastronomique, which serves comfort food for lunch and dinner. The hotel is also very close to the Lac Mercier municipal beach in summer, and just three miles from the resort.

Be sure to ask the concierge if you need any tips for local activities, which include water sports, cycling, skiing and canoe camping in the nearby provincial park.

7.

Hilton Grand Vacations Club Tremblant Canada

Address:

200 Chemin des Saisons

Price:

$189-1715/night
