6.7 Good
Pros: The room was very nice and our host was extremely friendly and helpful obviously keen to make a good impression
Cons: There was a scent of doggie doodoo / cleaned up doggie doodoo in the entire entrance lobby and pervading the central space, didn’t carry over to the room but was almost terminal to our stay, if we’d had an easy alternate we would likely have left. Internet was intermittent.
9.6 Excellent

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice neat little guesthouse within easy reach of the beach. Friendly and helpful staff made us feel welcome.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast good. Coffee excellent. Really pleasant and friendly hotel. Lovely owners. Absolutely nothing to complain about! Lovely location.
Cons: The weather.... but that's hardly their fault is it.....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room I've always used is fairly small and spartan but not unpleasantly so. It's clean and warm enough; there's good bread for breakfast and (I'm told) the coffee is excellent.
Cons: I stay at l'Univers when going to or coming from Dunkerque and only stay one night at a time. I haven't yet found anything I dislike.
7.1 Good
Pros: I skipped breakfast
Cons: Local bars closed early on Sunday so wasn't much to do.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Simple breakfast, a bit too pricey at € 7.50!! 1/2 Baguette, old croissant, plastic tubs of "jam", coffee and orange juice.
Cons: Restaurant CLOSED. Had to trekk 6 kms to the nearest village to find an eatery.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room, though very small, was spotlessly clean. Excellent beer on tap. Patron was very amiable. Close to Channel ports.
Cons: No-one on reception when I arrived. Door locked! Very basic. Nowhere to eat locally, except new Macdonald's.
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice big room with a fantastic window and gorgeous views. Decor a little tired.
Cons: We walked past the male owner when we arrived, thinking he was a guest. He didn't move but continued drinking his wine. We entered the hotel and had to walk into the kitchen to get the attention of the female owner, who then came and called her husband to deal with us, even though he was watching us. He reluctantly stood up to deal with us. Although the restaurant says it is open until 9pm, at 8.30pm when we asked for dinner we were told the kitchen was shut.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very welcoming and helpful. The view from the bedroom was lovely and would definitely stay again.
Cons: Need a place to hang towels in the bathroom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great little hotel. Very clean. Lovely shower. Room had a fine view of the Aa channel and the sea. Owner let me put my bicycle in the locked yard at night time. The hotel has a little bar so you can have a beer or several although opening times are best checked with the owner. Grand-Fort-Philippe is a very small place so you have to venture back into Gravelines to find food and drink or over the Aa to the Petit-Fort-Philippe but not a problem for me. The coastline here is very beautiful with splendid dunes.
Cons: Nothing.
La Tente Verte - Loon Plage - Bedroom
5
8.4 Excellent (478 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Hôtel La Tente Verte in Loon-Plage, you'll be near the beach and 8 minutes by car from Gravelines Belfry. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good location, very helpful staff
Cons: Parking on street outside (staff member helped us put bikes in secure internal storage though, which was really appreciated)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly and welcoming on arrival. Room was clean and the bathroom was modern. Beds were comfortable and we enjoyed our stop here before catching an early morning ferry. Great outdoor swimming pool with inflatables a 5 min drive away.
Cons: Room was quite hot but it was one of the hottest days of the year and the restaurant was closed on the day we went. However, the pizza place around the corner was great!
7.1 Good
Pros: This hotel is excellently located as a stopover for the Dunkirk ferry, and it is set up to cater for that market. It functions well as a stopover, but you wouldn't stay here for any other reason. There is ample free parking. The room was clean and a reasonable size. There is a vending machine in reception and a small courtyard and lounge area. The restaurant and bar were shut when we visited. The hotel is very reasonably priced and the facilities reflect that.
Cons: The hotel is very basic (similar to a Travelodge) with few facilities. The town of Loon Plage is likewise very limited with little to offer. What shops and restaurants there are have limited opening hours (this seems to be a feature of France). As the hotel bar and restaurant were closed, this meant eating and drinking options were extremely limited - we struck lucky at the Happy Days Snacking cafe (recommended). I think the stated earliest check in time of 5pm is a bit late in this day and age, but to be fair, when we arrived earlier than that, the hotel did let us check in and have the room. Owing to the nature of the hotel as a ferry stopover, the evening was quite noisy as other guests came and went a lot - similar feel to an airport hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was good, especially the fresh orange juice. The room was a good size and the bathroom was huge.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location and room
Cons: No restaurant
Face À La Mer - Gravelines - Building
6
8.2 Excellent (674 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Face à la mer in Gravelines (Petit-Fort-Philippe), you'll be steps from Plage de Gravelines and a 4-minute drive from Gravelines Belfry. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great staff. Great location. Great view. Recently renovated so everything was new and tidy. The restaurant is good as well, and very convenient having it just downstairs. Parking was easy on a little parking lot in front of the building. Value for money is the word! Late check In was not a problem. The restaurant manager (who checked us in) was absolutely lovely. The breakfast was nice too.
Cons: Room was really tiny. Couldn’t properly move around. Only main light in the room and bathroom, no small night lamps. Could hear people moving around in the room next door. Our room was too far away from the router, so we didn’t have WiFi.
4.2 Okay
Pros: NOTHING
Cons: Breakfast seemed rationed . The room had lots of windows , however , none had any curtains on them , they all had exterior blinds , there was also a window in the toilet wall , this all added up to a complete lack of privacy . The restaurant food was abysmal . To top the lot we were asked to pay more for the room than was quoted .
7.5 Good
Pros: The sea view. Room was very clean and well lit.
Cons: Bathroom would benefit from being a few inches larger. The windows need to be upgraded to avoid wind noise and draft on a windy day.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location ideal and view fantastic
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location ; staff friendly and welcoming
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed several times previously and fin the staff, service and meals ideal for our stay
Cons: All OK
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly. The restaurant food was excellent as was the choice of drinks.. the view across the beach and our to sea was enjoyable especially as kite surfers were in abundance. Tea and coffee in room was good not often found in French hotelsl
Cons: No toiletries in the room something we have not encountered before in any stay for over 20 years. Arriving on a Sunday with no shops open this was not great
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I was a little nervous because I ended up arriving later than planned, but it wasn't a problem and staff was very kind. The room is comfortable and clean, and we liked the location next to the water. I wish I could have spent more time here - my dog and I enjoyed it very much.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff. Great location. Good food.

8.0 Excellent (484 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Brithotel Confort Le Polder Gravelines in Gravelines (Petit-Fort-Philippe), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Plage de Gravelines and Gravelines Belfry. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: \very friendly staff, newly renovated comfortable room, good breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: staff were fantastic hotel was clean and it was very cheap
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good size room with good bathroom and comfortable bed.
Cons: A kettle would have been good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The building is fascinating. From the outside we didn’t have high hopes of this place but the inside made up for it. It has an army barracks feel to it. You get what you pay for. It’s close to the euro tunnel. Free parking. They don’t have anything other than a breakfast menu but the staff were more than happy to order pizza on our behalf from a local pizzeria.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Bed was very large and comfy. The staff were very helpful, ordering us pizza on the first night and getting extra pillows. Hotel car park was a must for us.
Cons: We could hear people in the bar as our rooms were close to it, but it did not bother us
7.9 Good
Pros: The whole experience was best summed up as "adequate".
Cons: Lack of local eating facilities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely spacious room, manager was very understanding as we had dogs so gave us a larger room to accommodate the dog travel box. Very comfortable and huge bathroom/wet room perfect size for disabled if karger room needed room 11 is the way to go! :) we would definately stay again.
Cons: Ideally tea/coffee making facilities and kettle in the room... we went and bought one locally as no hot drinks if you are having a relaxing time.
7.9 Good
Pros: Food was good perfect for us and my kids
5.0 Okay
Pros: Open all day, close to the road.
Cons: The room has an air conditioning system in the ceiling that cannot be switched off even asking in the reception. The room was already cold when we arrived and to have a flow of cold air comming from the ceiling directly to your head doesn't help. The only help the reception was able to provide was to put paper blocking the air but the room was still cold
Overview Reviews
A stay at Logis Hôtel du Beffroi Gravelines-Dunkerque places you in the heart of Gravelines, steps from Gravelines Belfry and Gravelines Arsenal. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Planning an event in Gravelines? This hotel has facilities measuring 97 square feet (9 square meters), including a meeting room.
7.9 Good
Cons: Unfortunately there was no hot water when we went to have a shower and the shower head pointed horizontallyand could not be moved so even if we had hot water we would not have been able to have a shower. When you have been travelling in car for 12 hours it is nice to able to have a shower!
4.0 Okay
Pros: The location
Cons: The room was tiny, cheap furniture, bare walls, tiny TV. Paint was flaking off the door frame.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We like everything about the place. the accommodation itself, the location of the hotel and its charming surroundings and the convenience of the location for our journeys both from and to the UK. We have stayed here on many occasions and will continue to do so
7.0 Good
Pros: Good breakfast, fab location but apart from the reception area being done up and lovely, the rest of the hotel isn't so much. Rooms quite small and dated. Perhaps they will renovate them at some point. But overall a decent stay. We requested a baby cot and it was arranged for our stay without any problems.
Cons: Beds have no headboards.
7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel was basic but clean and staff initially were helpful (until payment time!)
Cons: The credit card reader was out of action due to a problem with the fibre optic cables in the area. The hotel demanded cash payment on departure. What would have been helpful would be for the hotel to provide some pre-warning of this so that I could arrange to have sufficient cash with me. In the end I had to go to the cashpoint and withdraw cash. This was a problem for me because I incurred significant charges for withdrawing extra cash using my bank card. The hotel could have offered to let me pay by direct back transfer but they refused flat. Very uncooperative.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Bathroom needs update, kitchen extractor was noisy in our room.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: No evening meal or breakfast as the restaurant was closed - they say will be open again in 2020. Breakfast was taken at the Kyriad just across the road, but not as good as Campanile breakfasts in the past
Cons: Very little, we are regulars when we return to the UK
7.0 Good
Pros: It was clean and good value for money
7.0 Good
Pros: Very convenient for ferry port, and we could check in after midnight - useful, as our ferry was delayed by bad weather.
Cons: Restaurant closed for refurbishment - informed me a few days before we arrived. They must have known when I booked , which was only 2 weeks earlier!
7.5 Good
Pros: Very clean bedding and bathroom
Cons: No outside lights, looks like it is closed and not very safe. Very tatty inside with windows not very secure and the restaurant was closed so no food available in the evening. Breakfast very basic option for 10E provided at nearby hotel . Walls paper thin so expect to listen to your neighbours
6.7 Good
Pros: Room was comfortable especially the bed, goodbathroom
Cons: Not informed that the restaurant was closed and no adequate reason given.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing as we never had a chance to arrive at the hotel!
Cons: We booked this hotel on our trip from Cornwal to Germany as a stopover. We left Cornwall with our two kids (aged 3/8) in the early morning hours towards Dover where we wanted to catch the ferry at 6 pm. Traffic was that high, that we quickly found out that we would miss the ferry at 6pm. We phoned the hotel to announce our late arrival, since hotel checkin was only possible until 11p. The next avaiable ferry was the 8pm one. Therefore we would have arrived between 11p and 12am at the earliest. The woman at the phone didn't speak a single word english and didn't even try to find someone from the other staff with at least basic english skills available to get on the phone to help us. It was Friday arround 1 pm when we called them the first time. She just replied in french "I don't understand!" and left us in the middle of nowhere. Two hours later we realized that we would miss the 8pm ferry as well and phoned the hotel once more, with the same outcome. Yes, we're aware that this is France, not Germany or any other country where English is not the primary language spoken. Nevertherless we expect that the staff working at a hotel reception knows at least basic english to handle non-local guests that don't know the local language, like it's in virtually any other country in the world, especially since the hotel is located next to the ferry port where ferries leave towards only English speaking destinations every few hours. Granted, it's not the hotel's fault that the weather was bad or the traffic high but I would expect that a hotel that is part of a nation wide chain handles such situations different. In the end we asked for a reduction of the costs as we were treated as no-show, since we didn't make it over that day. The request was denied without any additional coment! This is not nice, not customer friendly, not professional and not hospitality at all!!! Avoid this hotel if you can't speak french!!!
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: I do not understand booking letting people book this hotel RESTAURANT CLOSED CAR PARK NO LIGHT ON MY WIFE FELL OVER IN IN THE DARK DUNKIRK NO STAFF ONLY ONE GIRL SAID BECAUSE RESTAURANT CLOSED NO LIGHTS ON I THI K A REFUND IS IN ORder
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Comfortable bed.
Cons: This facility is tired. It is the worst Campanile we have ever stayed at. Apparently, according to the staff, there has recently been a fire here. It would probably have been better if the place had burned to the ground. There is no excuse for dirty carpets in rooms, dust on skirting boards and other surfaces and mould growth on bathroom tiles. The air conditioning, lighting and TV were on when we entered the room on arrival. The air conditioning would not function to cool the room and was therefore switched off. When we enquired as to whether we could get a drink we were directed to the Kyriad Hotel nearby. This place also requires some TLC!
7.5 Good
Pros: location
Cons: comfort of bed

2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Driving away in the morning
Cons: I regularly use Premiere Classe hotels for quick overnight stops in Brittany, this one bares no resemblance, it stinks of tobacco and decay, poorly lit, bad decor, grubby dirty room, bathroom smelt of damp rot, toilet seat loose floor moving up and down, pillows smelt of tobacco, bed hard. A mini bus full of what looked liked immigrants dropped off. Man at check in surly, staff smoking in entrance in the morning. Not a feeling of secure safe hotel to sleep in. Lots of door banging and shouting. If there is nowhere else available I suggest sleeping in your car, it will be safer and more comfortable. I travel in Europe for business.....this is the worst (I won't call it a hotel) I have stayed in for a long time
6.0 Good
Pros: Its cheap and cheerful but it works for short stays. Can open bathroom door or bedroom door by moving the bed - not both . Can fully open window unlike many other hotels . Bathroom is tiny - a premoulded unit fitted in side of room - but it works fine Bike jetwash bays across the road Shop across the road.
6.3 Good
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Rooms not big enough and the shower and toilet is to small can't open the door toilet door fully
7.0 Good
Pros: Basic but fresh bedding & towels each day, breakfast basic but fresh, cheap place to stay for a night or two near port. Bathroom a little small but shower was good.Staff were friendly & helpfull when asking for extra towels.
