Hotel Miss Blanche

The apartment was beautiful and comfortable and very tastefully decorated. The location was brilliant, just 7 minutes walk form the Noorderzon Festival and we even walked from the apartment to the train station with our luggage when we left (only 17 minutes). Everything one needs for self catering is just around the corner, freshly baked rolls. an Albert Heijn Supermarket. Our particular apartment looked down on the bridge over the canal and we loved watching the boats in the water and the bridge opening and closing for the traffic, mainly cyclists. It's important to know that this particular apartment ,which had a great washing machine and dryer, is on the second floor and involves climbing 42 steps to reach the apartment. We are seniors and the staff were very helpful and took our luggage up and brought it down for us when we left. We were told that there are other apartments with an elevator but no washing machine.

We stayed for a week and for the first 4 nights everything was brilliant, but on the last 3 nights there was a heatwave and the apartment, which faces the setting sun, became very hot in the afternoon and evening (32 degrees). In order to cool the place down for sleeping we would open all the windows, but unfortunately there was a lot of noise in the area. Perhaps this was because it was a weekend and just before University starts again. All night we could hear young people passing over the bridge, shouting, talking loudly, singing, dancing . This would not have bothered us if the windows had been closed.

Very comfortable bed!

- It was noisy- from the street outside - and although earplugs are provided that didn’t help much. Had to keep the window completely closed. - for a ‘deluxe’ room, it was slightly disappointing there was nowhere to sit. - we bought breakfast on day 1 but it was expensive for what you got, and here were better value options on the menu in the cafe (which is lovely)

That was a nice junior suite. Everything absolutely Perfect. Loved the kitchendesign and the luxurious furniture. Highly recommended!
