I Had a great time there. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Really good location in the center of the Rodney Bay night life. I really liked the complimentary breakfast which featured very good local food.
Great value! One of the best quality/cost hotels on the island! A block off the beach, across the street from the local nightlife entertainment, delicious food at the banana bar (and the best Dirty Bananas!!!). Because of the off-season visit, the service was very personable as there were only a handful of other visitors to the hotel. Would definitely go back!
Always looking forward and happy to stay at Coco Palm; the hotel emanates a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere. An aura of peace and 'savoir vivre' , the Caribbean with a French touch.
The hotel is located in Rodney Bay, which is not a great area. There is a limited number of restaurant and they are all very expensive. Count on paying as much as New York City when you go for dinner, and the quality and service does not at all correspond to what you pay. The hotel only has one restaurant and is very expensive (breakfast was US$16)! This was my first time in St Lucia and I was disappointed. The area did not feel safe and there were a lot of youngster driving around in cars with boom boxes cranking out really loud music. There were very few visitors when we were there, so we felt really out of place with all the locals. The hotel is nice enough but its a drag to have to walk to the beach every day and the pool is pretty small. But, could be a good alternative for someone with really young kids. There is not much to see on the island so plan on spending a lot of time by the little pool!
We went to St. Lucia from March 10 - 18th. We really enjoyed our stay! The staff was amazing and really nice and helpful. It was a 10 minute walk to the beach which was ok. The locals can be a but pushy in the streets and it was loud one night, but then again it was St. Patrick's Day! The restaurants near the mall area are to be avoided at all cost with the exception of Fresh Cafe, it seems local cuisine forgot to add flavor and salt. To find good restaurants walk to the left to places like Buzz, Rituals and Spinnikers. The poolside restaurant is awesome as well & the poolside drinks were a HUGE plus! When checking-in make sure to ask for a towel token, we were asked for one on the 2nd day and were given one, if not at checkout you might be charged $30 for 2 towels. Make sure to check out Lucianstyle for things to do on the island. You can also take a bus to Castries for 2.50 EC, about $.75 USD, it picks up on the main highway across from the KFC. It will take you to the Markets and downtown Castries. It was worth the cost compared to a $20 cab ride.
Coco Palm will always stay with us, our experience was amazing, we will always come back here, even if its for three days ;)
I recently got back form a St Lucia trip where I stayed at Coco Palms for a little over a week. The hotel is situated on a busy strip with many good restaurants and some less than impressive shopping. It's a 5 minute walk to the beach as well as grocery stores. Once you get over the intimidation of loitering crowds of youth and hustlers on the weekends and evenings, the area is actually quite alright. The front desk service at the hotel was friendly, but getting detailed information was difficult either because of lack of training or because of the slower, easy going pace of things ( I honestly couldn't tell). The rooms were clean and the hotel frequently had live poolside music. My main complaint would be the firmness of the bed and loftiness of the pillows. Overall, the hotel was a great value and I had a great time visiting this island. Aside from residual rain and clouds, it was not apparent that hurricane Thomas had hit this island. I'm glad I did not cancel my trip as the experience was priceless and the island needs the tourism to continue to recover from damages.
Best place I have ever stayed. Staff was fantastic, helpful and friendly. Room service was always on time and well done. My hotel experience went so far beyond my expectations that it's hard to describe. The restaurant, Te Banane, was great as was the staff there. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone comint to St. Lucia. The location was perfect and there many things within walking distance which was wonderful.
The hotel is situated in a very popular night club area. There are many restaurants and bars right behind the hotel. There is a grocery story and a mall within a few feet of the hotel. The service is good at the hotel and most rooms are decent.
Perfect for vacationing on a budget. I only had breakfast there so I can't rate lunch and dinner, but breakfast was good. Check-in and check out was efficient. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. The location (the Rodney Bay area) is perfect, right in the middle of everything. Would stay again and would recommend it to others.
We stayed at the Coco Palm at Rodney Bay in Feb. '10. It was great. Our rooms were simple but roomy and always cleaned perfectly. The pool was great, the staff was great and so helpful. We would stay there again.
