What I liked most was the help of the personal, the mexican charm of the decoration and the fontain. The matress was comfortable, the washroom was clean with soap and body cream and the water was hot quickly.
The big down for me was that IT SMELLED CIGARET ALL OVER THE PLACE as smokers can smoke inside : in the dining room (open with the kitchen) and in the terrace (open to the main access to the rooms, washroom and reception) ! So I couldn't sit nor relax by the fontain, nor cook, even taking water was dificult to breathe. I woke up several times at night, trying to breathe with headache... Also, THERE IS A BAR WITH LOUD MUSIC UNTIL LATE JUST ACCROSS THE STREET, with lots of homeless and durty looking men hanging out... The hotel is surrounded by abandoned buildings full of bad quality graffities... so I didn't feel safe. BAD LIGHTING IN FEMALE DORMS also, the beds should be placed differently so it would be safer to go up and down the stairs as well as put the lockers on both floors.
The Hostel is very nice furnished. We stayed in the private double room. The room is small but cute and very clean. The common area is very nice.
The included breakfast was a self made breakfast and only toast, eggs and some Jogurt. No fruits, cheese etc. So we had breakfast outside. I ask if we can have a shower on our check out day after day in town before leaving at night by bus to Mexico City. They said “NO” (the first time during my long time in traveling)!
The workers were extremely helpful and the location was great.
Good value for the money and helpful staff. Decorations look colonial and nice.
Noise control from fellow guests in public areas.
The room was nice, the wifi stable, and the common space pretty.
The hostel was deserted the 3 days I was there, there were next to no guests, so not the greatest place to meet people as a solo traveler.
