Lovely place to stay, exactly what you would expect from a motel off the Interstate. Staff were friendly and location was great.
The location was excellent. Halfway between the music festival site and Northampton. Enjoyed my stay.
The internet connection kept dropping out. Nothing dramatic, but I like to log on and stay logged on without being disconnected!
The bed was extremely comfortable and that was main reason for booking this location. It was simply going to be a halfway point to stop for the night before continuing on home. The staff were very friendly. It appeared to just be an older couple in charge of the Inn and they were both very nice. We found (basically) diagonally across the street from the Inn was a very good seafood restaurant called the Smithsonian Chowder House/The Clam Shack. We ate there in the morning before heading home. This was a nice surprise and added another plus to staying at the Hatfield Inn.
There was nowhere to sit outside of the room. There was space to put chairs on the walkway, but there were none. We took the one and only chair from inside of the room and put it outside. We saw who we assumed was the wife of the gentleman who checked us in (she was cleaning the room next to ours) and asked her for another chair, which she promptly grabbed for us. There is also a large grassy area in the front of the Inn that could have benches, picnic tables, etc and yet it was completely empty. It is a totally unutilized space that has potential for making a great area for guests to sit and relax, and maybe even house a gazebo. Although the room was very clean and had no foul odors, it could definitely use some sprucing up, painting and renovating. The bathroom was antiquated and Pepto Pink.
Served its purpose
It was relatively clean (dingy & stained, but clean). The tiny room meant the ac cooled it off fast.
Ok, it’s REALLY DATED, the carpet is stained, the room was tiny, we were expecting a fridge, (it shows a complete kitchen in the photos) but got none, the wifi did not work at all the first night, worked ok the second night (inexplicably). They had those towels that are like a regular bath towel cut in half, presumably so you don’t steal them (because you don’t want them), but kind of inadequate for an adult to dry off with. The room was stained and dingy. The beds were hard & lumpy. No coffee or breakfast provided (we knew that, but just a coffee would have gone a long way). If we weren’t going there for work we would not be there...
