Pros: We received such a warm and friendly welcome, we were made to feel like members of the family. The food was really wonderful, generous portions and very authentic. We especially loved our tour of the local area and visit to the Aberdeen Waterfalls. Thank you so much for such an amazing and memorable stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything about the place & the owners. They were super helpful, super kind people. Spotless clean place. Specially the bedding. Had a great night sleep. Will keep coming back.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Food. Hospitality, safety. Comfortablyty
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The house is located at the top of a reasonably steep driveway, which means it has a fantastic view over the valley. All the rooms have a balcony or outdoor area where it is peaceful to sit and relax. Watching the sunrise in the morning from your bed is pretty magical. The owners of the property are super friendly with lots of good suggestions and they are also great cooks!
Cons: The bathroom could have been a little cleaner but it was still very functional.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really welcoming family, lovely views and best food we've had so far! Thank you!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. It felt like a homestay with everyone in the family making us feel very welcome. The kids had great fun playing with the children
Cons: Dickoya is some what out of the way and probably not on most people’s itinerary
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The family who run the hotel are wonderful - they made our trip to Hatton. Both dinner and breaksfast were delicious - the best food we’ve eaten in Sri Lanka so far. They organised our trip to Adams Peak and made us a sandwhich to eat when we reached the top! They picked us up and dropped us back at the station free of charge. They are always smiling and happy to help. They are the perfect example of Sri Lankan hospitality. We highly recommend staying here.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff - rented us a scooter, organized night trip to Adam’s peak, even prepared some sandwiches. Decoya as the city is not very nice, so if you want a place to stay while travelling to Adams peak or Aberdeen waterfalls (just amazing), this is your best bet.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great hospitality of the owner and his wife.. Had a nice stay..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is a catch. It might not be super new or fancy but its all clean and the owner will make sure u feel like staying at home. The owner is a whole chapter to write. To make it short she is the best owner, cook, guide, help, friend. She is so wonderful and you would love her food and her extreme general hospitality focusing every detail. It would be a long list. We loved this place and ate only at the property.

Pros: This was a very memorable stay. The food was the best we had in Sri Lanka. The staff were very professional, and the family gracious and hospitable. The visit to the tea factory was a real highlight, as was the hike around the tea fields. Brownie the dog often accompanies you on walks around the property, and is the best.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A fantastic and authentic place to stay when visiting Sri Lanka’s tea country. The bungalow is beautiful and in fantastic condition right in the middle of a working tea plantation. The owner and staff are all incredibly friendly and made us feel as if we were staying with old friends. The tour around the tea field is a great experience and much more authentic than other tours of the area. We would definitely recommend staying here.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The place is simply amazing in regards to the view to the plantation the river really worth visiting and enjoy the sound of the water and the birds very early in the morning The yard in front with the golf equipment definitely an other nice touch. The staff and the guided tour to the tea factory very friendly
Cons: The shared toilet should be mentioned as the only negative point but to me any interference to this amazing place would spoil it
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The setting was beautiful in the tea hills. Quiet and remote. The food prepared onsite was excellent.
Cons: I didn't know that I needed to ask for tea to be served. Just needed to ask and it was delicious.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: beautiful bungalow in middle of tea plantation. lovely owner and great staff
Cons: nothing lovely stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was made in their own kitchen . We had hoppers as we requested . A good thing we requested for lunch , as it would been a drive out to a eating place . Lunch was great , very homemade style and hospitality. The house keeper took us around the neighborhood and to the tea factory . We enjoyed conversations with him , as we spoke his language too. The rooms and the rest of the bungalow are very well maintained, with attention to details ,
Cons: Important to specify if bedrooms come with attached bathrooms on the website information . They have two rooms with attached bathrooms . The other two rooms do not have attached bathrooms. "Private Bathroom'' is not clear, we thought this meant an attached bathroom. The host was very accommodating and offered us the other options.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a special place to stay -- beautiful views of tea fields and a small river, excellent food (order in when you arrive so the cook can prepare your dinner and breakfast), and a historic, homey bungalow that feels like you are staying with friends. Special thanks to Tony for the personal welcome. Be sure to visit the tea factory and walk through the tea fields to Rozella train station or to the Zesta tea rest stop on the main road.
7.0 Good
Pros: Food and the location is very good
Cons: Bathroom is not attached to the room, water pressure issue

Pros: Really friendly owners offering great service (lovely food, take-away breakfast for the train in the morning, arranging an amazing tea plantation/factory / waterfall visit - highly recommend doing this). The room and bathroom was comfortable, nice and clean (room next to the living room might not be the best for couples looking for privacy, but great otherwise). The terrace has a nice view as well.
Cons: The homestay shouldn’t charge for cups of tea.

Pros: The views from the bedroom and overall in the resort was breathtaking! In real life it looks even better then on the pictures. Our butler Raju was excellent, he went above and beyond to accommodate us. All staff was amazing. The food was divine and fully organic from their own garden. I totally recommend this place and we will definitely visit it again. It has the wow factor !
Cons: No drivers quarters available which is a downside.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: All the chalets are at the border of the reservoir so the view from the room is magnificent and so serene . Very comfortable rooms . Superb hospitality especially Justin. Delicious food . We loved everything there ....
Cons: None
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay at the Farm Resorts, we had an amazing room and then were even upgraded to a fantastic room with a view of the lake. Justin and the other staff members were incredibly friendly and helpful - they even organised a romantic candlelit dinner for my partner and I on our last night. They helped us to organise our hike to Adam’s Peak and a tea factory tour and we loved sitting out by the fire every evening. The food was also delicious and very reasonably priced. It was the best hotel we stayed at in Sri Lanka!
6.8 Good
Pros: The breakfast was probably the best out of all 6 of the hotels I stayed at in Sri Lanka. Justin was also very good at looking after us, he even went out his way to wake up at 2 am to make sure we were up and ready to climb Adam's Peak. Thanks :)
Cons: We had to get the bathroom window vent covered up to stop midges coming in when the bathroom light goes on. They covered it up with a towel which helped.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great, from the warm welcome to the quality of the resort & food at the restaurant. Very quiet place with an incredible view. Ideal for a restful stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I’d have to say this was the most beautiful place I stayed in Sri Lanka! The scenery is just incredible! The hosts made us feel at home and were great! Food is great, most of which is made from their own gardens which they were kind enough to show us round! They even made us a sandwich to take on the 4hr train to Ella the next day! Definitely recommend this place if you’re in Hatton!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The people were really helpfull. They even let us check out later because we were quite tired after climbing Adams Peak. Food in the restaurant is delisious!
4.3 Okay
Pros: The rom are ok for one night.
Cons: If you want to go to the Adam's peak in the morning, you can take the bus at the train station which departs at about 02:00 AM. For 80 Rupis Beware of the taxi driver who tells you that the bus will drive later because the train is delayed. This story is lying and everyone knows it. The staff from the hostel also know it. The guests are cheated. The windows from the bathroom are very dirty, it is diterse at the train track and very loud
7.0 Good
Pros: I had accidentally booked for the wrong night - the staff were excellent at accommodating us by giving us a considerably more expensive (and expansive room). This room was huge, the biggest bed imaginable and a great view of the railway.
Cons: Bathroom had a leak coming through the light fitting in the ceiling. When we complained that this made sitting on the loo a rather wet experience they replied " Don't worry, it happens all the time"! They promised they had fixed it but all was wet again the following morning. Hardly any of the menu was available and with one exception service was also very poor.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location and facilities were great. Super close to the station. The interiors were nice and the staff was great, especially the door man!
Cons: It's amazing what a coat a paint could do for the bathrooms. Just sayin. Super overpriced for staying the dorms for what you get, at least include breakfast or free tea at that price. The dorm room was stuffy and too small for four people, felt so cramped.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here during the columbo bombing when a curfew was closed. The hotel still stayed open for us and looked after us so well. We can’t thank them enough for their generous hospitality.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This place is located less than 0.5k away - just exit the railroad station, turn left and then cross over the walkway - turn right.... Great place to get off the train and make a quick home. ***Bonus - the local bus leaves the train station at 1:30am to Adams peak - so great way to save money. Only 80 rupees. The train did arrive 1hr late, so the bus left 1hr late on the day I stayed. The hotel is really nice and the food looks great - the beds were nice too. I stayed in the dorm. Unfortunately, I arrived at 9pm, left at 1:20am and returned for check out as I did Adam's peak.
Cons: N/a
7.0 Good
Pros: The location is good for catching the train. The bed was huge and very comfortable! The shower was good after they fixed it. The best thing about this place though is a guy named Shiva who works there. He went out of his way to fix everything and make us comfortable. He even got us a fan for the room which was brilliant.
Cons: When we arrived straight from Adams Peak we wanted to take a shower. Unfortunately there were hardly any water coming out, and what did come out was ice cold! Apparently there was a problem with the water, they were fixing it and a few hours later they did. They ran out of pillow cases so we didn't have any on the pillows - couple of hours later they found some. No fan or air-conditioning in the room so it was quite hot. We got a room facing the road and it was busy in the daytime. Wifi not working.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The building is beautiful. The location is a 5 minute walk from the station. The biryani for dinner was tasty. The room (Hatton) was very large.
Cons: This was one of the most expensive places we stayed in two months in Sri Lanka. It was the most disappointing. We checked in to an unfriendly staff. There is one middle-aged man on the staff who is excellent, kind and friendly. But the two older men who are “managers” are incompetent. We went to our room after it took four people to check us in. The key wasn’t in the door. A window lock was broken so the window did not shut. There was no coffee maker as advertised. The pool table pockets in the common room is broken. It took 30 minutes to get the key (the kind man on staff brought it in with apologies). We laughed it off. We tried having dinner in the restaurant the first night. The rice and curry was cold, but okay, the biryani was good. The ice cream was the last of plain vanilla yogurt (not ice cream) and way overpriced. The breakfasts (which we paid more for) were terrible. The first morning I waited an hour and ended up with the worst coffee I’ve had in Sri Lanka, eight pieces of poorly toasted bread, and a single fried egg. Again, this took over an hour. I had to ask the manager what was included in breakfast, and he just asked what I wanted. The breakfast offered on the menu was not given. The second day was the same - four pieces of toast for two people, served with butter but no knives? Finally we got up and asked for omelettes since we had paid for breakfast through booking.com. No one ever came over to tell us what was on offer or take our order. We couldn’t check out to catch the train because none of the management seem to arrive until 9 AM. In the end we paid $81 for two nights with the worst service we’ve had in Sri Lanka, not as advertised on booking.com. Pass on this one.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Very noisy as was on a main road
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Looked really nice. Good breakfast
Cons: Put (classic english) music in the restaurant, to quiet ;) Only 2 bathrooms/shower rooms open.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was the highlight of our trip in Sri Lanka. So far the best Homestay we’ve seen. Rukshan waited for us at the train station and took us to his home. We’ve had amazing lunch (his wife is an excellent cook) Then he drove us to Adam’s peak (amazing ride, he stopped everywhere we wanted to take a picture) and waited to take us back. Then again absolutely fabulous dinner from his wife. The room was super clean and nice, comfy bed, super clean shower... simply perfect. After delicious breakfast he drove us to the waterfalls and then to the train station. We enjoyed every minute of this stay! Rukshan and Nilu are absolutely amazing, charming and humble couple who do their best to make your stay special. I hope we will come back some day.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owners were simply great! Owner picked us up from station and invited us for tea, even though we were staying with them as of next day only. They did everything to accommodate their guests. Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely amazing, a true feast (7! curries).
Cons: Nothing - it was simply a great homestay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a fantastic stay in this homestay! Super welcoming and lovely family! The papa us up at the trainstation, toured around in his tuktuk in this beautifull environment, we visited tea plantages, tea tasting at a teamuseum, teafactory and waterfalls. He brought us in the middle of the night to the start of Adams peak and climbed this holy mountain and watched the amazing sunrise. The food was super delicious and the mama learned us how to make some of these traditional dishes (try coconut sambal).
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Simple small room but with nice shower/toilet. There is only one room in this guesthouse. A guy was waiting for us close to the train station and took us there, because it is a little bit complicated to get there. People are friendly. We had a good tea as a welcome drink and excellent breakfast in the morning. After the breakfast the guy took as by tuktuk to Nallathanniya for a quite good price for 30km and hilly roads.
Cons: Small room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The host picked us up, gave us at our (late) arrival an amazing dessert from their New Year, brought us with a lot of pleasure to Adam’s Peak, the room was very clean and the breakfast was very nice! The host brought us for free to the bus/train station and gave recommendations about planning our route. Stutti!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were so lovely people and made our stay a experience of sri lankian hospitality. After talking a lot about each others cultures, we got home made lunch, that was just amazing. Ruki picked us up from the train and drove us to Adams Peak in the middle of the night. Even on the way back he stopped with us at great spots to enjoy amazing views. We literally felt like home. :) Thank you!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our favourite homestay in Sri Lanka. Beautiful room, with a comfy bed, great bathroom and outdoor seated area. You will be the only guests so it feels very intimate. The garden is gorgeous and a wonderful place to soak up some sun. The hospitality of the couple who run homeaway blew us away. We were driven to and from the station free of charge and had our transport to Adam’s peak arranged so it was completely hassle free. The breakfast was a definite highlight as it was cooked with so much love. We opted for traditional Sri Lankan breakfast but there are also more western options. On the last day Ruckshan drove us to the station so we could get a train to Kandy but when we were buying our tickets I realised I had left my raybans in the room. Ruckshan came back picked me up, took me back to the homestay where is wife was waiting with my glasses and then got me back to the station in time to make my train. So kind, can not recommend enough!
Cons: Having to leave
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was local, good and rich. The couple who run this accommodation was nice and had done everything to make our stay comfortable.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Picked up from train station and dropped at bus station. They drove me in a tuk tuk to climb Adams Peak. The food was great and plentiful. Hot water shower.
Cons: The room could do with a pedestal fan.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast and lunch I had there was amazing. Had one of the best home made Sri Lankan food at this place. The hosts were friendly. The rooms was very clean. Recommend to stay here if staying at Hatton.

Pros: Friendly hosts, they got us a driver for our hike to Adam's peak which made it so much easier for us, they had breakfast ready for us when we arrived back after the hike which was so lovely. They let us check out a bit later which help as we were quite tired! Then got the same driver to drive us to our next destination who was very nice. Very good price

Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very cheap option to organize Adam's peak climbing by night. Host is very friendly and arranged us a car to Dalhousie. The house seems a bit old but it is comfortable. The breakfast was a relief after the climbing !
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hosts who helped us with our early morning trek and a great breakfast awaited us on our return
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This guest house is a fine place to stay. the hosts, an older couple are very easy going and helpfull. All the questions we had about climbing the Adam's Peak and using the public busses where answered by them. And when we had problems with the wifi we could use the wifi of their private house and we came back from the Adam's peak a nice breakfast was waiting for us! all in all, a really good place to stay when you want to see thea plantations (in walking distance) or climb the Adam's peak!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We only stayed one night in Hatton to climb Adam's Peak early in the morning. For that purpose the guesthouse was perfect! The owner and his family are lovely. they organised a very nice driver for us who brought us to Adam's Peak at 2am in the morning and waited for us until we came back down. When we came back to the guesthouse the breakfast was already served and after a shower we enjoyed the great home cooked breakfast! After that the driver also brought us to Nuwara Eliya which was very convenient after those 5000 steps... The house and the room are quite old but clean and our room even had a nice balcony. For that prize we would always choose Duke's Nose again!
Cons: The room and bathroom we had could use a little renovating. But for one night in Hatton it is no problem!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was very helpful. He arranged a driver to bring us to Adam’s Peak in the middle of the night, gave us a little hiking route for the city and recommended some restaurants. When we came back from our hike, he prepared a delicious local breakfast for us (included in the price). He even let us check out a bit later so we could still have a nap after only sleeping for 3 hours. It was easy and fast to walk from the trainstation.
Cons: The wifi was not strong in our room but we could use it downstairs in comfortable seats.

6.8 Good
Pros: The view is stunning and the area is very calm and not touristic at all. You look over the lake and can do a little walk to the dam. There are tea plantations all around. The curry for dinner was also very good. And the father of the family offered to take us to Adam's peak at 1am (8000SLR for 4 people)
Cons: The room and bathroom were basic. If you sleep there with 4 people the air can get quite bad and unfortunately there is no fan. The view is beautiful, but there are only a few plastic chairs to sit on. I think this could be improved a lot, if the place where you eat and the terrace would be a little nicer and better equipped.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful spot for a peaceful getaway. Very friendly owners, rooms spacious and clean.
Cons: Rather weak WiFi connection
10.0 Excellent

Cons: We have to travel on a budget, usually we only spend Rs 1000 on a room. This one was 3000- but I guess we pay for the amazing location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is amazing, right in middle of tea plantations where very little tourists seem to go. Easy to get to with own vehicle but easily accessible with bus from Hatton, Closer to Adam's Peak than Hatton with an incredible view. Owners are extremely nice, cooking delicious dinner and breakfast, made our laundry and goes the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect. Achintha helped us getting an extra helmet for my motorbike, helped us get fuel before heading to Adam's Peak and fixed something with bike. Highly recommended.
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff was very friendly and Wi-Fi was good after resetting it!
Cons: The showers were cold unfortunately
6.8 Good
Pros: The food was awesome, the view and achintha was a very welcoming host.
Cons: There were no fresh blankets , only the warm ones , which seemed to be not washed after every guest leaves. The sounds and voices from neighbor room could be easily heard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best view, lovely staff/family, good food
Cons: Nothing the owner can do about but the hindu temple on the other sea side had a festival for a couple of days with non stop music for the whole area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is very picturesque. Beautiful garden by the lake. The family was super friendly and helpful in giving advice and helping us with our plans. Booked for one night, ended up staying for 4..

10.0 Excellent
Pros: my stay in river view nature resort must have been the best accomodation in the whole south east asia. First of all, the spot is absolutely luxurious, right next to a waterfall, my room was absolute luxury plus one, two super size (and soft) beds, with mosquito nets, hot water and a balcony out to the waterfall. The owner and his wife went out of their way to make my stay like in a 5 star luxury resort. I was picked up from the station, taken to the top of the hill at 6 in the morning to watch the sunrise and the food was as delicious as in top restaurant. Much, much to be recommended, there can't be many places like this in the world.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Awesome ambience, friendly staff- caters to customer requirements well!, great breakfast./ and food options.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was honestly the best place we have EVER stayed. Our room had a balcony that looked down on the running river. Our host family picked us up from the train station for free and we didn’t even have to ask, he was just there. He showed us around all his favourite spots near town including two waterfalls, the tea fields and reservoir nearby. Afterwards his wife cooked us the best meal we had in Sri Lanka. We ate dinner overlooking the river. Our host family was so beautiful and accommodating. The room itself was super comfy, hot water, good pressure and the noise of the river was so relaxing. In the morning they cooked us an amazing Sri Lankan breakfast including rotti filled with honey and banana, fruit from his mums farm and naan with scrambled eggs and sambol...It was incredible. I couldn’t fault anything on our stay, my only regret is that we only could stay for one night. This was the highlight of our trip in Sri Lanka. You can’t go to Hatton without staying here!!
Cons: Nothing at all...honestly.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location, very far from town and below the road was both good and bad. When it rained, the roaring river below looked interesting, the floating and spread around garbage did not. And the place definitely felt spooky. Next day, in the sun, I could appreciate the shady location and well positioned dining terrace much more. The near Anglican church and cemetery offered nice views of tea fields and a lake.
Cons: The service was unsatisfactory - as quite often in Srí Lanka the owners think much more of their profit than what to provide for it. First I was offered beer - then it was suddenly "finished". For my free breakfast (which didn't seem like to much at first but, to be fair, with an added plate of fruit it hit the spot just right) I had to literally wake me hosts, banging all those many closed doors - then I was offered to get it at 9 am, and only after my loud protests I did get it in time to check out and catch my train.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was an amazing place to stay a night. The owners were very helpful and they tried to please us any way they can. Service was absolutely great and highly recommend the pace to anyone who travels in this area.
Cons: Bit hard to find the place
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This was a unique place right next to a waterfall which you could swim in and sunbathe on the rocks. Ravi and his family were fantastic hosts, very welcoming and helpful. Ravi took us on a tuk tuk tour of the area which included an interesting visit to a tea factory. He was very knowledgeable and kept the trip relaxing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Balcony, welcome drink, terrace with a view, really big room
Cons: dirty ceiling in bathroom
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owners. Good breakfast. Clean and comfy room (we had a deluxe room). The best is the view from the balcony - directly on a Dick Oya river. Really relaxing place surronded by pure nature and tea plantations. Definitely recommend to stay here. It's a short 15 min ride with a tuk tuk from Hatton train station. There's also transport available to reach Adam's peak (will take about an hour).
Cons: Nothing. Good value for the money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Host family were particularly Helpful and charming. Food was terrific, especially the dinner prepared when we arrived at 8pm with less than an hours notice. Bedroom very pleasantly appointed, bright colours, could hear river rushing by.
Cons: Hot water did not always work but we didn't ask the owner about it so it may have been our lack of understanding how to use their system.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I really like the flowing river which was behind our room.
Cons: We didn't like the food they provided us that night.

He was polite, considerate, sociable, helpful and quiet. It felt good, safe and comfortable to have him living here. As a person He was wonderful to get to know. I would recommend Him to anyone renting out rooms You are always warmly welcome back! I wish you all the best.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I highly recommend 'La Choza' home stay The location is very close to the Castlereigh Reservoir (about 5 mins walk) and still very quiet. We have visite to lakshapana water fall and abardeen water fall. We had a great time at laksapana water fall. as yoy said Next time we will stay night at laksapana water fall. Rooms are spotlessly clean and large enough to feel yourself comfortable even for a long stay. The owners are very nice people with a very gentle character of hospitality. We had breakfast and dinner at the guesthouse. Both were very tasty at resonable price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely it was an amazing place. Really enjoyed a lot. Very calm place to relax and we enjoyed green hill hike and we missed to stay there one night. Anyway will be back again to stay in a camping knight with this lovely guys. The foods also delicious and very clean. The owner supun treat us very kindly. Overall this is a very good place for the budget and the room and bed was comfortable than we expected. “La choza home stay” really felt like home.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were fantastically friendly and helpful and the food, especially the curries , was excellent.
Cons: Although the gardens of the hotel were immaculate, there was too much litter, plastic and paper, on a lot of the walks around the estate.
4.3 Okay
Pros: The surrounding and tea estate view is nice.
Cons: The 10km+ trail to the hotel is terrible like war zone full of pits and water holes which means not only bumps but a bit dangerous for poor light condition such as night. Room are quite small especially the bathroom as pictures show. Totally overpriced one (usd400+ per night)which has only nice outdoor views. Moreover the full-board food has very limited options for choose. I wanna ask the manager whether beef is same as steak?
5.0 Okay
Pros: the location and the view are astounding. The property is immaculate a restored colonial mansion. The food as good. grounds impeccable. Very peaceful. Perfectly fresh air. Great view of Adams Peak
Cons: It felt as if guests were an necessary intrusion on an otherwise peaceful existence for the staff. For the bed we were told - the quilt is in the wardrobe' so to go to bed you basically had to make your own bed... A bit strange. Not much to do there and minimal advice. A tennis court, a small walk around the garden and tea terraces. Seemed eager for us to leave so they could prepare the room...forget Genius extra 2 hours...
5.8 Okay
Pros: Historic location, very nice garden, great views
Cons: - very little left from the time when Royal family have been there - we asked for a taxi and went into troubles when the staff haven’t communicated properly our destination to the taxi company - it would be a good option to stay with a fair price of 150$ per night. While charging 370$ per night everything -from furniture, matrases, bed linen, bathroom, lightning to service and food should be improved dramatically. Doesn’t really wirth the money, personally not recommend
7.5 Good
Pros: Hotel, facilities, garden, staff and food are great.
Cons: However make sure you don’t end up with one of the small rooms that are half the size and have no four-poster bed, no fireplace, no seating area and no hardwood floors etc and a tiny bathroom. They are the same price as the rooms with these facilities which make them very bad value for money (not worth the $380 per night)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This place is like piece of heaven in the middle of a tea plantation. The trip to the location is quite long and uninteresting but the wait is definitely worth while. Cannot wait to go back again. If you want privacy, gorgeously manicured gardens, calm and quiet this is the place for you...far from the noise and pollution. Service is from the heart and personalised. The mansion is quiet, with elegant music in the background, dedicated exclusively for its guests so there will be no visitors and noisy parties. If you want " action" you should make another choice. When I say action I refer to pool parties, disco and bar lounging. You certainly do have a wide range if choices though: nice tennis ground, you can bike or hike, take slow wonderous walks in and around the gardens, sip high tea at a special location perfect for admiring the sunset, read books from the library, play snooker, chess and also fish in the mansions pond. We absolutely loved it!!!
Cons: Would had appreciated a better variety and choice of wines. I know it is more about tea than coffee but a proper coffee machine with freshly ground beans would had also been a big plus for the kitchen.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The service was out of this world. The beautiful house, the library, all inclusive deal with the tasty food (including alcohol) , the wonderful afternoon tea experience which we had sitting in the garden and overlooking the tea trails...and the list is endless. You are totally spoilt here. Totally recommend this place
Cons: They have a standard menu that u order all meals from. Being a vegetarian I realized that I would be repeating items after a couple of days. However, the good taste and fresh ingredients made up for it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The gardens are amazing, brilliant staff,
Cons: Dated furniture
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The environment and area was great. Considering the place is in the middle of nowhere and on top of a hill it beggars imagination how they do it. We booked with no notice when another booking went badly after a long day of travel, got the last room. Then the staff sent a van to fetch us from our abortive booking. We arrived at Governor's Mansion with our last ebbs of energy and were welcomed into the warmth, plentiful clean water and great food and drink. We were saved.
Cons: Nothing within their control. Perhaps, and this is a trivial grouse, they could mark the walking paths. On the map their paths have letters but on the ground there is no indication of where you are. But really... the walking is so scenic that time spent retracing our steps was a bonus.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location with a great view surrounded by nature History of the building Service by some of the staff, super attentive and caring Fresh vegetables and fruits served
Cons: Food overall can be improved Afternoon tea is poor Rooms and facilities are in need of renovation The room, Doncaster Suite where I stayed is not a suite, it is the worst room in the hotel without any privacy

Pros: Staff was kind and breakfast was good.
Cons: A little bit dirty and cold, but we slept at lunchtime after Adam's Pick, so it was okay.
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: Everything in this place is dirty and disgusting. Our sheets had stains and hair on them. They clearly weren't changed before our arrival. In one room there was leakage from the roof and bed was wet. Rooms and bathrooms smelled really badly. Host didn't even give us toilette paper for our rooms. Wi fi didn't work in our rooms. When we arrived staff looked surprised that they see us, they weren't at all prepared for our arrival. I wouldn't recomend this place for anyone
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was super helpful and friendly. Very clean and quiet. If we needed anything, they helped. They had a pretty cool billiards room in the back if that is your thing.
Cons: Wifi did not work in our room. Hot water had issues nearly Everytime we showered that resulted in us having to go to the front desk for them to fix it, which they did.

Pros: Staff is very helpful. Rooms have great view especially the rooms on the ground floor. Hotel is centrally located for all connectivity
Cons: No. I am overall content with the experience.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Actually, i liked nothing!
Cons: When we arrived the staff did not really care, several people came through the reception area and none seemed to care that new guests had arrived. The reception area had mold all over the ceiling and was not really welcoming either. The common bathroom that I wanted to use was just disgusting. Our first room was no better. Large areas of mold in the room and the bathroom had stains as well. We could smell the mold on the walls. The room seemed to not have been cleaned and dead insects were crushed on the wall and on the floor. The bed was covered with an older blanket and the formerly white pillow was stained with black mold as well. We asked for another room. This one was slightly better, less mold but still a disgusting bed and the shower was not working. As the wifi was not working properly we had no way to find a better hotel for the night and stayed. Needless to say, we slept little. The next day we even had to pay a higher price as booked since the new room was a deluxe room. We argued and discussed with the staff but they still made us pay.
