Pros: Next to the shoreline of the Inland Sea. I enjoyed hearing the waves while in bed.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The place may not be optimal for everyone, but it is a unique experience of Japanese countryside in a traditional-style Japanese house close to rice fields and bamboo groves. You can rent a bike to get around in the neighborhood or to the nearest train station (Shido), or the owner will take you to the station for half the fare of a taxi. The owner is an impressive person, very kind, approachable and interesting, and he speaks English. You can buy some food and drinks at the guesthouse, but you may also like to cook yourself. There are plenty of things to do, if you don't mind to travel for an hour or two (e.g. the Naruto whirlpools, the Shikoku village museum, the famous Ritsurin garden museum or the Kotohira temple). For me it was a fantastic experience, which I do recommend, if 5-star comfort isn't a must for you.
Cons: The place is hard to reach and hard to find (once you arrived in Oda), so perhaps you should call for instructions before you arrive. There are no actual shops nearby and few buses (none during the weekend) come through the village. Comfort and facilities are what you may expect for the price.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Well, Jose the owner who has so many stories to tell. The view in the morning (this is the Japanese countryside for sure) There is some potential but it definitely need some (quite a lot) improvement
Cons: - no clean individual white sheets to put on the bed - the bed that was small and too hard - the lack of amenities In the kitchen - the road to go to guesthouse is really really narrow so I wouldn't recommend to everyone. If you have a big car just park 500m down the road In overall there is many things to improve. I wish the place was a bit more comfortable. I didn't appreciate that the description in French is confusing and misleading about the amenities.
