Market Grille food and service were excellent. Very good coffee Very disappointed with the room. No refrigerator or microwave. Royal Cup coffee was very good, but packages of powdered cream not good. Arrangement of room, lack of comfortable chairs to watch tv or read newspaper. Never could get room temperature comfortable, Seemed to be about 3 degrees difference in room temp and thermostat setting.
Our view was great, very relaxing, beautiful, rooms were cozy and the location was convenient. That we didnt stay longer :(
I have stayed at safety harbor spa on thanksgiving for the past three years. Meet friends for holiday brunch and then stay the night. I decided to order room service breakfast. I got cold eggs, bacon and barely toasted bread but the worst was the inedible breakfast potatoes. I am a tea drinker and the carafe for the hot water was coffee stained and the hot water smelled like coffee. Plus it was 1/2 hrs late and getting a phone call thru was nearly impossible, the room did not have updated info on how to contact roomservice, I got a voice mail box twice that wasn't currently receiving messages, four phone calls. Never got thru. Plus it cost $25.
Best location for July 4th pool party and fireworks show. N/A
Comfortable bed, lime that there is volumn Water temp was not good, very cool. Wanted a hot shower. Bummed
The rooms were large and quiet. Beds were very comfortable. Bartenders at the pool were very service oriented. The check in staff were rather cool and reserved, not welcoming at all. When we checked out they were also distracted, didn't thank us for staying, didn't ask how our stay was, No chatting at all.
After reading some reviews saying the hotel was dated and old, I was pleasantly surprised when the decor and environment was traditional and nice. The location was great for what I needed. I loved having a water view room, and I was able to take a short walk across the street to get to Starbucks and Crispers. It was also a short ride to the airport. The value for the room was great as well. The beds were comfortable, and the room was quiet. The printer in the business suite did not work.
The location is beautiful The staff was not helpful, billing and charges were not correct + plus I founds several more charges to my bill after my stay that were not authorized. Over all — not the best experience for my wedding night. I would not recommend to others.
The lobby was nice, the room was alright, and we had a view of the pool and the bay. It was right across the street from Crispers and Starbucks. This isn't the hotels fault or anything, but we were in the middle of old folks town, so all but maybe 4 places were closed. The bathtub in the room was dirtier than the average. We went to the hotel restaurant for dinner and waited over an hour for a salad and chicken and we never saw the waiter again after placing our meal order. There was a $16 surplus charge per day to use the amenities in the hotel that should have been included in the price of the room to begin with: internet, gym, business center, coffee maker in the room, pool, etc.
The view is nice. Right next to lake tarpon. Room was very clean and remodeled. It's a quiet and nice place The continental breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Couldn't even find regular coffee there.
Not much No response from management. Water pipe broke and flooded room no competition or upgrade. I was a front desk manager for 8years at a resort. Sand in sheets. Unfitted sheet. Unacceptable breakfast
Size and comfort of bed. Restaurant was closed. Room could be cleaned more (vacuumed around edge of room). There was lots of dust around there.
Liked waterfront canal location with a patio overlooking the canal. Quality of bed and chairs was not very good. Breakfast staff had difficulty keeping coffee and supplies furnished in a timely manner.
The rooms are spacious and clean and the beds are comfortable! The lobby is also nice and the staff were helpful. I liked having the sunrise coming trough my window in the morning and having a personal balcony. There was coffee and breakfast snacks available in the morning. The lobby also had a computer for guests to use and wifi in the rooms. The breakfast could have some more options... The hot tub wasn't really working - it got hot but no jets. The pool is not heated though the booking sites and their website said it was. It would be really great if there was a partnership with a local kayak/canoe rental company since it is on the lake - With specials or st least contact information.
Claean good location nice people Probably wouldn't hurt to let people know you changed the name of the hotel
I like the location, it was very near my trade show. Staff were friendly, check in/out was easy. I like that it's on the canal although I didn't get to explore the property. If I stay here again I'll ask for a room near the back, away from the busy highway. My room faced hwy 19 and the traffic noise was significant. There were tiny ants in the room. The entire building looks good but gives the sense that it's past its prime.
Nothing The first room was damp and had a heavy mildew/mold smell to it, the second room was less damp and the smell wasn't as bad. It was 10:30 and I wasn't changing rooms again. The mildew/mold effected my son's asthma problems which hadn't flared in years. Neither of us could breathe well in there. Avoid this place!!!
Was lead to believe no pets were allowed, but they were. Dog pooh all over the grounds.
This is a good place for tradesmen in the area who need a place overnight if too far from home...staff was nice but boisterous...couldn't hear the TV or table conversation at breakfast for the hootin' and hollerin' (and raucous laughter) at the front desk...no consciousness or concern of the impact on the guests of such behavior...hotel maintenance men wandered in and out of the breakfast area drinking coffee, juices, etc., just as if were guests...reminded me of the casual lack of sophistication of some seedier places in Greece, Spain, etc., that I've visited...(the onsite restaurant that was advertised is closed and 'For Lease'...with no close-by alternatives) See column one....
The staff at the hotel were very nice and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and the exterior of the hotel has been modernized to some extent. Parking was easy. Check out was smooth. I was sort of hoping for a surprise on the continental breakfast like a waffle machine, but it was the basic cereal and yogurt offerings. The breakfast area was very clean and well presented, nothing special, nothing too disappointing. This place is a throwback to the early 70's. My first room had furniture in it that I believe had been there since 1973. The carpet was worn and the A/C was not cooling. It was a sticky night, so it was too warm to stay in that one. Had to trek back to the lobby to exchange keys for room #2. I had hoped that the clerk would give me the best available room on the second try, but that didn't happen. The second room looked much worse than the first. Worn out carpet with several holes and a smell like a broken refrigerator that had been left closed for a month greeted me as I entered the room. Again, the same Brady Bunch era furniture was found in this room too. Plastic dollar store grade chairs on the balcony were also a turn off. Since I had an early appointment, I settled for the room I had at this point. The mattress has no padding left so I spent the night sleeping on the ripples of the innerspring that was poking through the fitted sheet on the bed. If you thought all standard def tube TVs were all in the dump by now, nope, this room has some off-brand model from the early 90's with a sluggish remote control. Bottom line, there is a Hampton Inn one mile up the road -- spend the extra few bucks and get a good night's sleep there.
Water view Too many noisy workman staying there
Comfort, peace, friendly staff, great breakfast, good location - 5 stars for the value for money N/A
Could not close bathroom door while sitting on commode. Very shoddy room. No vent fan in bathroom. Rambunctious children milling about. Very very poor for over $200.00 per night.
Clean, comfortable hotel. Convenient location. Ok breakfast. "Fitness room" is a joke - barely a walk-in closet with a treadmill.
Quiet Old. Falling apart.
Clean remodeled rooms, very spacious, well appointed, staff went out of the way to please.
Room with balcony well appointed although the bath was a bit small. Accommodation is located in close proximity to the Bon Appetit Restaurant & Cafe. Normal conversations from the next door guests were plainly heard through the adjacent wall.
Being directly on the harbor Bed was so-so, door to the balcony was stuck and would barely open.
Location was amazing for the price and proximity to the park for festivals and we could walk everywhere we wanted to go downtown. Would definitely return!! Front desk staff were nice but maybe not the best team. This didn't effect our stay, but it was observable that they may not enjoy working together, or may not work together much. Housekeeping staff were friendly and accommodating!!!
It was nice to have hot coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the lobby as we spent a couple of cool days. The room and facility was clean and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was great! There was no refrigerator in the room. I understand why you wouldn't want cooking in the room, but most people travel with snacks or have leftovers from restaurants that they need some place to store them safely.
Friendly staff, convenient breakfast, and new hotel. They provided us with two travel cribs for our babies at no cost. Smoke-free building was a huge plus as well. Price was a little higher than other hotels nearby. We're still happy we chose this hotel.
Clean, comfortable, large rooms. Friendly staff. Quiet.
The view of the marina. It was clean enough and comfortable enough. Very happy with my stay. The breakfast was not worth getting up for and the lounge was too dark to eat in
Probably the best Mattress and pillows I ever had at a hotel Room was dated, wall paper peeling off walls, carpet padding was worn out under carpet creating pockets in the carpet, I twisted my ankle in one of them. Looks like they were renovating some rooms next to the one I had.
The only thing likeable was location. The lobby smelled, the staff was cursing, the hot tub looked like watered down milk, the pool had floating debris, the grounds were full of trash, the room next to ours had 'visitors' throughout the night (possibly she had 4 or 5 'clients'), fire alarm was pulled and the very noisy bar spilled out onto the grounds being way too loud and drunk, woke in the morning and found cockroaches occupying the bathroom.
We chose this specific hotel while browsing online like most people and were trying to find the closest one to the family we were visiting since we were going to be spending every day with them but wanted our own get away at the end of the day. The location of the hotel is great in the respects it's in the middle of everything. But, the location is definitely the only thing that brings people to choose it and the fact that it's dirt cheap. But with dirt cheap you're gettting what you paid for, an out of date hotel with carpet, beds, baths, sinks, toilet, showers etc that were around when the dinosaurs walked the earth. Do not be fooled by the water front pictures of the marina, or any other pictures. In real life it's less than appealing. Our first impression of the room was being greated with the strongest smell of cigarette smoke I have ever smelt (and we were in a NON smoking room). We immediately called the front desk and demanded we be switched out of this awful room, which we were without an issue. But, we were refused a room on the refurbished side of the building claiming it was "all booked" when there was a total of 10 cars in the lot the entire time we were there. Thankfully the room was only used to shower and sleep since we had a very busy week ahead of us and we're gone all day everyday. But even being there to only shower and sleep was not what we had hoped it would be. This is not the type of place you can just relax and be lazy in for a day or even a half day to recover and rest. I definitely would not stay here again. If our reservation wasnt non refundable, we would have immediately left and went to another hotel down the road.
Everything is close by. New wood flooring was nice to look at. Free wi-fi. Staff was friendly and helpful. The floors were sticky from apparently being waxed and made our feet dirty to walk on. Antiquated TV and decor. When attempting to take a shower, half the water still came out of the faucet. The wobbly table was fixed with a scrap of carpet under one leg. Blanket on the bed was barely thicker than the sheets. The heater sounded like a car was in the room with us all night. Outlets for charging phones and laptop were all out of the way or required furniture to be moved. Walls have no sound dampening. Whole room felt outdated not just in appearance but in function, as if nothing had been fixed or replaced in a long time.
The view was nice. The TV was from 1980. The sheets had burn stains in them. The staff was slow (and rude, see below), the walls are paper thin, the toilet barely flushed, and the air conditioner only has two settings; Off and Arctic. I knew Saturday night I would be up late, so I got a late checkout on Sunday. They still woke me up at 11, then turned off my keys. I had to go get my key re-coded, and ended up having to wait 10 minutes for the receptionist to get off the phone. She was busy answering questions about the area to a POTENTIAL customer. I think they should worry more about the customers already paying. I had to get my key re-coded 3 times (in a 4 day stay) and every time it was at least a 10 minute wait while the receptionist was on the phone. The pool and Jacuzzi were both closed for renovations (and being from Canada, I wanted to be in both!) but no where did it tell you this ahead of time. Even when checking in, they didn't mention this. I didn't find out until I went to hop in the pool, then had to go ask at the front desk. All-in-all, there was nothing good about this place except for the view. The price was high, compared to all the other hotels in the area that had cheaper prices but offered the same accommodations. I will never stay here again. In the future, I will go to the next town over, which has much classier hotels, at similar prices.
Front desk was very nice Too many bugs for me
The setting by the marina is lovely. Close to stores for convenience. Pool is larger and nicer that you would expect. Staff goes out of their way to assist in any way. Maintenance and Housekeeping staff are friendly and efficient. Nice free breakfast daily. My grandkids were welcome to join me for swimming. This is a great value for the money. Older rooms are in need of sprucing up.
The hotel has a nice view of the Marina. It was dirty. I booked a non-smoking room and when we arrived late at night, the room reeked of cigarettes. There were cigarette buds behind the furniture amd within 5 minutes of my stay I saw FIVE baby cockroaches. Needless to say we left the hotel and did not stay the night.
Price was right. First room was smelly. Second room was next to very noisy neighbors.
Check out time! The amount of obvious drugs being sold and drunk people walking around yelling. The pool is heated....! And it was about 93• out and so was the pool, terrible! If you have a problem with drugs or fighting try to stay away from the ends where your secluded. Not safe at all.
Was adequate and acceptable. Was just acceptable.
Nothing Cold showers, old rooms, old tv, spotty wifi.. will try to keep your deposit..
Clean. And next to city fish restaurant. Gave us late checkout at 1. Kids in hotub.
The room size. The amenities. Limited parking
Comfort of the room and sleeping experience Front desk who lost my reservation and after one half hour of segueing with him, he found my checked in package unde his left hand! The free breakfast cost $11.00 for an ok omelet and two sausage links! The coupons for the free breakfast disappeared from my room on the last day so no "free" breakfast! I found a $75.00 pending charge on my credit card two days later after receiving a no pay due bill from the front desk! The price per night was way to high for the value and service given! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I feel like I got ripped off. PS. I'm a diabled vet who just returned from deployment!
This was quite possibly the worst Hotel I've ever stayed at! The bed literally had a indentation from being so used! The desk clerk was rude, and housekeeping was knocking on our door by 8am! Heat didn't work, no fan in bathroom.., I could go on!
Promised easy access and room was last one at end of hall on third floor.
Janet, in housekeeping was an awesome person. She made a attempt to greet us and call us by name throughout our 4 night stay. We arrived early and were allowed to check in prior to 3:00 pm. Much appreciated. The room was nice but nothing exceptional for the rate we paid. I assumed the breakfast was complimentary but it is not. The food was good the morning we ate there.
Very nice staff
Breakfast was 100% better this stay. Cleaner because an employee was on top of it. Mold in shower. Dried substance on back of bathroom door. Broken key readers by pool and rear exit. Broken water fountain at pool. Broken shower at pool. Leaky shower which caused slippery green mold
For the money it was good value. It's a good 2 star and could be rated 2 1/2. As a guy I found it to be fine for my needs.
the bed and shower the breakfast
Close to where I needed to be. They aloud smoking and dogs. The room could have been a lot cleaner, for example the mirror on the bath room door was so dirty that you could write your name on it. The sink drained very slow. The floor was dirty upon arrival. The coffee maker in the room was nasty, it had lint all over it. More towels would have been nice.
Nice and clean, easy to find but nothing special.
Very clean. Close to good restaurants. comfortable bed.
The room was large, clean, pleasant, nicely decorated (boutique-like) with good color scheme. Very good air conditioning (I travelled in August). Comfortable bed. A nice desk, with good lighting. A couple of computers available in the lobby for internet access and printing. The staff was courteous. Snacks offered for sale by the receptionist, and there is a kind of diner there, too, for a bite to eat. Small pool available. The price was affordable, and I would stay there again. The ice machine on my floor had a sign on it that it was out of service, and the drink vending machine next to it was sold out.
Clean, updated rooms, comfortable beds. Friendly staff. There is NO continental breakfast, HOWEVER the restaurant is really cheap and it's a big step up from the standard continental breakfast (my meals cost around $5). I arrived around 3am and the lobby doors were LOCKED because there was only one person on staff and they were doing something in a different part of the hotel. I understand why they would do this but it was NOT a good feeling to be locked out of my reserved motel after a really stressful 16-hour drive. I had to call the front desk to get in.
Wasn't clean, smelled weird. Bugs. Dirty furniture
Close to everything. Great staff! Restaurant only open til 10pm.
Staff were very nice. Had a bar and restaurant on site. After a long day traveling it was a welcome sight. Lobby area being remodeled and painted. We were in a room on the backside of the hotel. It didn't appear very safe but we didn't have any problems. Beds not very comfortable. Carpet was filthy.
The coffee. First our reservation hadn't been processed so they didn't know where to put us. Then our AC was off in the room, which smelled musty and felt damp, it took over 2 hours for our room to cool down. Then the restaurant was only open for breakfast,6:30-10:30am. There were dead bugs on the floor, the plumbing was loud, the AC sounded like it was ready to explode. When the toilet backed up we were asked to come to the front desk to get a plunger (they had noone to handle this problem), There were no working ice machines for the guests, you had to go to the front desk to get ice and the main lobby area to buy soda. Internet access was not available in our room. IThe room just didn't make the grade and I felt we were misled by the advertising for this room.
The view and the location was great. The living room and kitchen were spacious. There was a tv in the living room and one of the bedrooms and cable. There was storage space. Most of the space was clean. The window in the bathroom didn't open and we had a person with a respiratory condition. Since the window didn't open and the fan wasn't very good, when people showered the fire alarms would go off from the steam. Only patio frames were very dirty.
Quite, clean and beautiful location! I loved it!
My reservation that was made in March could not be found by hotel. Took over 1 1/2 hours to correct this. Was very difficult to find an actual person to discuss this with by phone at the hotel.
Very good breakfast Great Bed
Fresh carpet. A very poor value! Only one towel, and the 'extra' one delivered was stained.
Breakfast very nice! Cozy place. No
Great breakfast selection, and helpful staff. My room and the elevator did not smell pleasant.

We've stayed here before, so we only expect it to be as good as the last visit. For us, the location is good and is usually a very good value for the area. Only two issues. 1.Housekeeping ignored us the first morning, even with us leaving the room for the day before 10:30AM. Hskpg was still on the floor as we were leaving. 2.The shower rod mount showed 3 exposed sets of screw holes on one end, still bad rpr.
I liked how clean it was. Housekeeping for our room was fabulous! Breakfast was great! Just the hot tub could of used some cleaning but pool was nice and warm.
This hotel was a short distance from our destination- Tampa Downs. It was very clean and the room was great. Hotel staff were friendly. We did have a problem with the thermometer but they sent a staff person over that was friendly and figured it out. We did not like the fact that they were 'dog friendly' and there were many animals there. We are allergic and therefore will not stay there again.
Very friendly staff willing to accommodate your needs as a guest
Very friendly staff. The Hotel Employee was extremely friendly, helpful and professional. Located perfectly to Ed Radice Sports Complex at a good value. None.

location and amenities overrated, price is a bit high
