Pros: Amazing spot in a quiet corner of Tuscany. Away from the tourist crowds but a quick trip to Florence or other tourist highlights. Hosts were friendly and accommodating. House is beautiful, set in gardens and groves overlooking the old town of Regello. Room was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast was fresh made each morning and there was lots to eat. We spent two weeks around Italy and this was our favourite accomodation. Hope to get back.

7.5 Good
Pros: The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good. Close to the mall.
Cons: The room is a bit tight and the bed is not so comfortable. We can hear the guests next door in the morning and much noise (the train+insects?) through the night. We could have closed the window but it was too warm without air conditioning to fall asleep. Maybe we had too high expectation before we arrived and the price is not so beautiful compared to other farms/apt we stayed in Tuscany. Btw, the local beer is really good but not the dinner, to be honest.

Cons: None
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything was excellent. It's much more than you can see on photos. House and nature is so beautiful. Owners are very nice.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It is an authentic and very charming villa with a lovely family running the whole „business“. Spacious, again - very authentic and naturally cozy... Pool and the territory - very cute. The view and the surroundings - typical Toscana. The Mall shopping 5 min by car.
Cons: Since it is extremely authentic - some things are falling apart, some not very user-friendly... You may well hear what your neighbors are doing - the villa was adjusted to become a hotel - there are some compromises. Still very charming and cute... I wish we could have used the pool, but it was a bit chilly. Kids loved the place...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place on a beautiful hill with gorgeous views! Good place to visit Florence - only a 25 minutes drive by car. You need a car to see the region as the Villa is not located centrally. We visited the Villa for our third time, which indicates how happy we are with out stay. Highly recommended!
Cons: The cleaner turned off the airconditioning every time, which resulted in the fact that we came home to a hot room daily, which was not pleasant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Always the same experience...great hospitality of family managing Villa Al Vento! We are coming back....
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were lovely! Wonderful kind people. The breakfast was fresh and good variety of food to choose from. Very relaxing/casual place, nice property, rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. Easy 5 minute car drive (or less) to "The Mall" but not sure walking would be a good idea as it can get hot under the Tuscan sun! Would recommend if you're looking for a clean, comfortable, laid-back place to stay where you can come and go as you please.
Cons: There was nothing to unlike.

Pros: Everything! The place is lovely, even better than the photos posted. This was the first time we EVER liked the place so much. It was absolutely clean and comfortable. The host was very kind and sincere. It was very close to the Mall and I would go back and also recommend it to anyone. The restaurant that the host recommended was super delicious we ate there 3 nights in a row.

Pros: Beautiful villa, exceptional location, good facilities, kind people taking care of the property
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We picked this place to stay at last minute as the previous booking looked like Bates motel, unloved and scary. So this was a delight to find, just shows what you can do with a property renovation, spacious great facilities spacious room lovely shower room with plenty of space to swing a cat. Welcoming reception, this was a house with four rooms we had one one ground floor and did not offer from any noise from other occupants, the TV lounge area well thought out and furnished to high standard. Well stocked kitchen with facilities to cook or just make a drink, would be ideal for a family holiday or group of friends, big dining area and patio also a secluded swimming pool with shower and changing room. Definitely recommend to all, great find. The Mall IT outlet five minutes away
Cons: Only one negative and that was the noise from the pipes or pump as water from showers etc is flowing out, maybe air locks in the system.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, cute villa. It was very clean, airy, spacious and the gardens well-maintained. The property manager Maureen is lovely and a great host. We had a simple breakfast outside overlooking be neighboring hills. Added bonus was taking a swim in the pool. There are only a few rooms to rent, and they were empty so we had the place to ourselves. Highly recommend
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The views from the house are amazing, the swimming pool is great to have, and the house itself is spectacular. The caretakers are always available and willing to make the guests feel home.
Cons: It would have been great to have air conditioning in the house, as it can get really hot in summer. They do, however, have electric fans in all the rooms
Il Gavillaccio - Figline Valdarno - Building
5
9.7 Excellent (48 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Vacationing at Gavillaccio is ideal for those who are interested in complete relaxation in touch with nature and also having the possibility in easily reaching the most important artistic and historical sites of Tuscany and Umbria. Among them are to be mentioned the small romantic ancient churches of Valdarno, the most important of which is S. Romolo at Gaville, the medieval towns of S. Gimignano, Cortona, Volterra and the park of the casentinese forests with the hermitages of Verna and Camaldoli, which were quite dear to S. Francesco; last but not least there is also Chianti with its splendid farm houses, medieval villages and ancient castles.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location the facilities eg pool
Cons: No air conditioning
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very well appointed and maintained property. Clean and beautiful. This was our favorite property out of the five different ones we stayed at in Italy. Ms. Lorna was a friendly and attentive host. We would gladly come back.
Cons: We would have really liked to have had air conditioning. Although Ms. Lorna did provide us a couple of fans that helped a lot.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Recommend very highly. This place is great. Location Apertments Owner very nice and helpful View brethtaking
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is amazing, an oasis of piece and serenity. Also, the host did everything and beyond every time necessary.
Cons: The only suggestion for improvement would be to have room cleaning provided at least once a week. The villa was very clean when we arrived, but there was no room cleaning while we were there for almost a week.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is very beautiful and Lorna was very welcoming and friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Well maintained, clean. Great views. Quiet.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was absolutely beautiful. The swimming pool area, playground area and apartment were lovely. We have received all kind of tips and suggestions by the property manager who was very helpful during the whole stay. Lorna was a great host.
Cons: We would certainly recommend placing a mosquito net protection over the master bedroom balcony door. In the summer period it is very hot, but you can’t open the doors through the night because the room gets attacked by mosquitos. Whit a baby thats even more uncomfortable and we had to use our own mosquito clamboe in order to protect the baby bed. The towels were changed only once during 8 days of stay, which we found insufficient. Nearest restaurant is only in the city nearby which means you need to drive everyday through the steep and narrow road up and down the property location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Beautiful views and setting. Very peaceful and relaxing. Pool was in a gorgeous setting which we had to ourselves most of the time. The apartment was fantastic! Lots of thoughtful touches and absolutely spotless - as was everything else around the accommodation. There are lots of little spots around the grounds, seating areas, play spaces for kids, bbq spots with equipment. So much thought has gone into making this an amazing holiday. Our apartment was amazing - with 2 balconies - one covered so we could still sit out on our one rainy evening. Lorna was a lovely host - really helpful and friendly. And cats!! Lots of them - especially loved our 2 friendly visitors we had each night.
Cons: Nothing! The is nothing not to like - perfect getaway.

Pros: Great position of the property, well connected to shopping sites and Florence. The property is immersed in the green and very well maintained by its owners, David and Eva. They both offer you the most welcoming hospitality into their extremely well maintained site and very good food with delicious on site produced olive oil and wine. We will definitely return next year and cannot recommend this location enough!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really beautiful agriturismo with a great view. We loved everything: hospitality of the family, nice pool, great breakfast on the terrace. We reccomend to order a dinner there, they cook only for their guests - you won't regret it. They make also fantastic red wine and olive oil - we took some bottles with us home :) The owner David was also really helpful and gave us some tips what should we visit in the neighbourhood. We couldn't imagine better place for our honeymoon - thank you once again, Family Panoni!

Pros: Great localization, very quiet, beutifull view, tasty dinners, home wine, great service, towels for swimming pool, even the mattress in swimming pool available, fantastic atmposphere. Fully recommend.

Pros: This place belongs to a wonderful family and sits on top of a mountain. The rooms were just fine but the place itself, the panoramic view and the welcoming family were amazing. Don't miss a chance of having a dinner there with a great bottle of wine of their own produce.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One word: AMAZING! Very beautiful location up in the hills with magical views. Super friendly family running the place - you need to have their home-cooked dinner and their own produced wine. Pool area is nice. Rooms are very good - clean and spacious. We loved everything!!!

Pros: The location is perfect. Very peaceful and quiet. There is a spectacular view all around it. Loved the pool and the olive trees around it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed 5 days with David and his family, and it was a wonderful vacation. Beautiful place to stay, simple yet very comfortable rooms. We really enjoyed great breakfasts, long walks around the farm and nice sunsets. My husband and I don't eat pork, so the owners cooked chicken and beef just for us for dinner. David's son Cosimo gave us a great tips about the small towns to visit. There are a lot of big cities like Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca but also a lot of small amazing places where you can go.
Cons: Nothing

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Food was lovely. Great shower. Pool was great to relax in during our hot stay. Staff was amazing. Frederico and Irene were amazing hosts and went above and beyond to help. Frederico came and picked us up from figline valdarno after we were stranded and also dropped us off at the train station when we left. He also made sure we were on the correct platform and were ok. They also organised a hire car to be dropped off to us and picked up as we were not very experienced at driving in cities. Grazie mille.
Cons: Was a little bit hard to get around if you didn't have a car.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Outdoor eating area, beautiful pool, lovely big room with a patio
Cons: Initially assigned a very small dark room so it is worth paying for an upgrade.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is a wonderful rustic family owned Villa. It’s exactly what you envision when you think about Tuscany, it’s very colorful, surrounded by an amazing veranda where you see the beautiful trees, horses run wild and it overlooks the pool with the many colorful rose gardens. We had many plans to visit the surrounding areas but decided last minute to enjoy the peaceful scenery and we relaxed in the gardens by the pool the entire trip. Simply amazing! Our host Federico was warm, friendly and had a lovely sense of humor. He informed us of the history of the property but also showed us all of the culture and artifacts of the pictures around the house. He told us where to buy the best quality oil and where to eat the best Fiorentina in the area. His restaurant served us the best pappardelle al cinghiale I’ve ever eaten and the staff was always friendly and treated us like kings. Federico not only was most welcoming (as we arrived very late due to traffic) but was also kind enough to mail my daughter’s bathing suit as we forgot to pack it. What a service!! We will definitely go back in October to get the new oil and we have recommended Villa Rigacci to all of our friends and family to go for a romantic paradise to escape to. Loved it, loved it, loved it!
Cons: Everything was fantastic.

Cons: I cant say enough good things about this place, and I can compare it to 7 other places I stayed while on my trip touring Italy. The owner made you feel like a friend visiting from out of town and that was so refreshing. Highly recommended.

Pros: Don’t be put off by the quirkiness of the hotel. It’s an old main building with loads of character. It’s in a quiet location and has a lovely terrace overlooking the pool where breakfast and evening meals are served. The food was fantastic and on two nights out of three I had a delicious fillet steak with truffle sauce. The pool area is so relaxing and the owner was always there to help.

I was shocked it took them this time to realise and clearly the gentleman didn’t listen to me This created a very stressful day and we had to pay 100 euros to a taxi driver to meet us somewhere up in the hills which I felt they should have offered to pay at least 50/50

Pros: The location is on a beautful hill and thus windy. The apartments are some 200 m away from the old castle which is currently being renovated and after some years will also host guests. You should take into account that the building is old and thus has small windows obstructing the view and making the apartments quite dark. Our apartment was on 2nd floor, thus no terrace or balcony.
Cons: We had interruptions of electricity twice for almost half day each - once with a warning previous evening, the other time - without warning (which left us with unfinished breakfast, wet hair for both kids and no shower for me and my wife). We couldnt reach the reception by the phone or email all morning as simply nobody was there. I think that if some construction is on site, they should not accept guests or warn well in advance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Torre a Cona is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed and the staff welcomed us with smiles and warmth. Our villa was lovely and even though it was called ‘Piccolo’ it was certainly not small! Decorated with care and with our own private garden that has views of the Tuscan hills, it was perfect! After a month of travel around France and Italy, this was our highlight!
Cons: There is nothing not to like!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The estate is enourmous and so beautiful. Perfect for relaxing, tanning at the pool and enjoying the view. The wine tasting with Lorenzo was great and insightful, and all the staff is extremely kind and helpful. Definitely recommending!

Pros: Very nice place, you can find all necessary things there, very clean. We were 13 group of people, we stayed for one week and it was great time there. The staff was very nice and helpful, especially many thanks for Marianna. We enjoyed our time there and highly recommend it.
Cons: We had small problems with water, but Marianna solved them very quickly:)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good size apartment in old villa on grounds of estate. Rooms were basic but ideally suited to the Tuscan environment. Nice outside area with chairs tables and a fantastic view.
Cons: Would have been great to have bar facilities around pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic views! Beautiful architecture and personalised experience. Cellars are spectacular and reminiscent of old Tuscany. The staff, such as Leonardo, were perfect tour guides who are passionate about the history and heritage of the property and the surrounding region. Horseback riding and Ancient Etruscan cooking classes were superb activities. Great stepping stone to the secret gems of Tuscany.

Pros: Monic and her husband are super nice hosts. Their villa is old and nice, and the room is very clean. There is even a cooling fan in the room in case it is too hot in summer(which I didn't expect :-P). I'd recommend the anti-pasto on the dinner menu, super nine and very good value for money. :-)
Cons: nothing...

Pros: Booked this place on the basis that there is a restaurant on site, but the resto was closed! However there wes a stove to make tea and coffee, sieve to wash salad, knives and forks and plates, wine Glasses of course, so we had our antipasti and chianti classico in front if the vineyards up on the hills. Superb!
Cons: Sheets and towels were ok but would be better as white cotton and fluffy please?

Pros: Nice and calm place. Owner was helpful and made for us eggs for breakfast. Apartment was nice, clean and spacious.

We arrived late and was given a free upgrade which was massively appreciated. The room are what i would see to be Tuscan and the views were amazing. We woke up early to walk around and we were not disappointed with what we found, lovely views, fruit trees and people working on the land.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was beyond words as it was beautiful. There was a majestic ambiance that is hard to put into words. The restaurant and food was superb! Vino was delightful. Staff went beyond. Thank-you!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I would give this hotel a 3 stars rating and not more. That relates to the fact that it needs some refurbishment work and remodelling of the bedroom. I needed to stand on a chair to reach the hanging cupboard. A really odd issue to deal with. Having said that, the staff at the reception desk were lovely, especially Selim the Manager.
Cons: Breakfast was not of a high standard. They need to improve the cheese selection, as well as the rest.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant was very good and good service from the sommelier, Stefano. Beautiful location and only 10 minutes to nearest town, Figline Valdarno.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was so pretty well kept gardens and beautiful scenery. Everything was located well .
Cons: The walk back from the meal in the Vineyard was extremely hard for my grandparents, so I’d suggest maybe a drop off and collect service for the people staying at Villa La Palagina .
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything. The location and view was incredible, the food was fantastic and their Palagina wine was so good. The pool was refreshing and the pool bar great too. Renato and all of the staff at Villa La Palagina were wonderful and we will definitely return!
Cons: Hard to find anything that we did not like, but it is a very child friendly place - which is great, but as a couple without children the pool area could be quite loud.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: great location for trips, great views, great pools, great service, great breakfast, great place to feel the right tuscany
Cons: there are rooms with bunk beds (not mentioned in the internet description) and the walls are little bit thin and you can hear your neighbour quite well (but depends on the room I think)
6.3 Good
Pros: Location is great, quiet and silence. Perfectly to rest from a city noise.
Cons: Totally inefficient air condition. Very noisy and old. It was impossible to use during a night. We had to sleep with open windows just without air condition.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The pools are great, though could be cleaned more often. The staff are very friendly. The villa itself is lovely to look at.
Cons: The apartment was filthy when we arrived despite a €50 cleaning fee being charged to the guests before us. The airco in both rooms sounded like you were sleeping next to a fighter jet taking off. To be fair to the staff, when we complained they did their best to accommodate us. A shame though that at this price, you have to complain first. Also all the amentities mentioned aren't at the property but at a camping 5mins drive away.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: EVERYTHING!!! Very large rooms with lots of space for clothes and suitcases. Absolutely comfortable beds, very big flat screen tv, huge bathroom with absolutely great shower. All of it mixed with impeccable cleanliness, all new appliances and furniture and a greatly friendly staff. Very good breakfast and a super fast check in procedure. Last but not least extremely well insulated and soundproof. I can recommend this hotel over most 4 stars I have been in! Great work! Keep going!
Cons: Very difficult to find any negative aspects to this superb 3 star hotel but if I really must I would mention the rather small parking but probably sufficient for most regular days. No minibar nor refrigerator in the room and a pretty small elevator. Also, but this is common to almost every hotel, soundproof of the entrance door is rather poor.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nicely finished modern hotel. Reception staff were friendly and spoke English. Great that you can check in till midnight as we arrived on a late flight. Very near to a large supermarket. lovely breakfast with lots of yummy options. Car park right under hotel.

Cons: Nothing special - the Hotel has been refurbished and it offers a pleasant stay.
9.3 Excellent

Cons: The road noise in the morning was slightly intrusive
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Modern rooms and bathrooms. Great food. Staff all friendly and very helpful. 15 minute walk to railway station for hourly trains to Florence. Interesting local market on Tuesdays
Cons: Not too many things to do in the area itself but lovely and quiet away from the masses of tourists in Florence.
7.5 Good
Pros: Position: easy to reach from highway - free parking - restaurant in house - rooms very clean - bed comfortable - big TV screen
Cons: it was fully in line with my expectations, maybe some windows in the restaurant need some update (some air was passing through) and breakfast could be better
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beds are very comfortable, staff is very friendly and helpful, room is reasonably spacious. We often come to Figline for work and we always try to stay here as we think it has the best price quality ratio in the area.
Cons: Shower doors didn't close well and therefore some water spilled out. Breakfast could be a little more varied especially in terms of selection if salty items.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: They are restoring all the interiors with good taste. Avery thing is new and makes the room very welcoming. Breakfast is generous and good quality. The staff is charming and ready to help.
Cons: The location is nothing special, typical business place. The hotel outside looks '80es and needs a whitewashing. To get to the city centre, you need to drive for 5 minutes.
