Very quiet & secluded even though in the city
The breakfasts were awesome. We would stay again.
The shared bathroom was difficult, but it worked.
Very beautiful setting with mature trees
This is a quiet and cute B&B on a tree lined street. The place was very nice, clean and comfortable. Much bigger than expected and great hospitality. They have a butler's pantry which is stocked with snacks, tea and coffee that guest have access to 24/7. The location was perfect, about 10 minutes from downtown and there weren't any problems parking in the lot or on the main street in front of the B&B. I would definitely recommend this for a couple's or friend vacation. It was very quiet and I appreciate that so maybe the offsite rooms for families with children. But definitely a place for everyone.
I have to say that the breakfast was a huge disappointment. I choose accommodations that offer breakfast to save on cost and time in the morning and I am sad to say that lately many facilities are mainly offering carbohydrates and sugar (muffins, sweets, waffles, fruit) with an added boiled egg and calling it breakfast (see my review for the Baymont by Wyndham where other reviewers agreed and management wrote that they would look into improving their menu items.) While I don't expect this from a hotel, but can understand it, it is totally unacceptable at a bed breakfast. During the week the Stone Soup Inn serves continental breakfast and a "Full Breakfast" during the weekend. However, the Full Breakfast was nothing more than 2 more items added to the continental breakfast which you can imagine is carbs plus a sausage and some frozen item they put in the oven, quiche or French toast casserole ( tasty but more carbs). During our stay at the Savannah Bed and Breakfast INN it was a full buffet breakfast of bacon, eggs, grits, oatmeal, biscuits, gravy etc. plus the chef's speciality item for that day like eggs benedict with salmon, so we were expecting something more along the lines of that. So if you are expecting a "full breakfast" during the weekends then don't expect much. Make brunch reservations somewhere else instead :)
Inherent charm & inviting, peaceful ambiance, top rate service by Innkeepers, sparkling clean bath facilities.
Wish they had a dumbwaiter to get luggage to the 2nd floor.
