Cons: I am very upset because they did not have a car when I arrived, and when I had previously tried to contact them because my flight was delayed no one picked up. I had to rent from a different place for significantly more. I would never rent through them or kayak again as a result.

Bargain Basement (Basement is the operative word)
Pros: I liked the low price that I booked for a 6-day rental. Also, the shuttle was relatively modern, clean, and comfortable.
Cons: Signage at the airport was inadequate. I had to ask a competitor how to find the shuttle to the offsite lot.j
The distance to the lot from the airport is not insignificant.
The lot is located in a run-down section, surrounded by a hurricane fence, and has as its office a junky old portable trailer. Not too nice.
The staff seem unable to keep up with returns and new customers. Wait times for shuttle pick up as well as for checking out a car seemed long.
After waiting 15 minutes or so to get to the counter, there was no option in full size vehicles when I was picking up my car. Only a '14 Impala (old style). I detest the old style Chevy Impala because I prefer to drive something comfortable, well made, and at least a little fun. The new style is great. The old Impala is none of those things. The only other option offered was a Kia Soul. So I took the Impala. However, when I got in it reeked of cigarette smoke. It also looked like it had been wrecked and repaired (poor panel fit, evidence of repaint). I had also noticed that I had been overcharged by $98. So I went back in and requested something else (which they did not argue about). They offered to clean up a recently returned Altima (a much better drive) and they fixed the overcharge on the contract. This car was in at least as rough of shape with evidence of rear-ending another vehicle (pinch points with rust near the headlight corners), not to mention the finish looked like it had been driven through a series of barbed wire fences. The wheel covers were chipped and cracked. The interior was filthy and the interior windshield and window glass was disgusting. These are all apparently very used vehicles (35,000 - 45,000 miles) with hard miles on them.
So I guess the old adage "you get what you pay for" stands. Very disappointing, though.

Pros: The car was clean
Cons: Not in the airport terminal as advertised on kayak. Had to take a 15 min shuttle to the car pick up.
Employee didn't go over hidden costs, I signed for waiving of insurance and road side assistance, or so I thought
Price, with hidden costs, was double the quoted price on kayak. When I mentioned it to them, they pulled out the form I signed and said are these your initials, they were but that was not what I was told when I initialed that item.
Complete rip off. I spent the amount of money on an economy car that I could of on a mid sized car at a reputable car dealer for a day. I don't recommend this place at all

Stinky car, dumpy location

Cons: Car had been smoked in recently and clerk tried to tell me it was cleaning spray. Wreaked of cigarette smoke. Claimed I would have to wait hours to switch. I reserved/paid for a much larger car but they gave me a compact. Place was a dump, office super messy, surroundings had tons of trash, blacktop completely broken. Will NEVER use them again.

Worst experience ever.
Pros: It took an hour to pick up the car. Price was inflated for the service, bad value. It also took an hour just to drop off the car. I almost missed my flight. This place is also not in the airport as advertised.
Cons: There is absolutely nothing I liked about this experience. Never again!
Pros: The staff at both locations was awesome. Pick-up and drop off were excellent. They were quick,efficient, and kind, offering water when we picked up the car on a super hot day. It was a great overall experience.
Cons: The car smelled like cigarettes, but covered up with a cleaning smell. The car only had 13, 000 miles on it, but it really lacked any pick-up. I guess that's what you can expect with an economy car. Overall it was a good experience and I would go with Enterprise again.

Call and confirm and print coupons
Pros: They gave us an awesome car at a great price and threw in the gas in the car and satellite radio. However they didn't just give me the upgrade for free even though I'm fairly certain they had no other car ready to give us.
Cons: I had planned to pick it up at 8am Friday. I called to confirm the details of my reservation and they informed me that They do not allow pickups before 10am. I ended up paying a little more to get it the day before. I also inquired about a deal I received via email and they did not give it to me bc I didn't print it out.

Pros: I incorrectly made our reservations online for NON airport pickup, but when we went to pick up our car at the airport, the young man was very gracious and helpful in switching our car to airport pick up and drop off. Same good price as I'd gotten online. They gave us the choice of a sedan or a small SUV, which we appreciated. We took the Ford Escape, and it was great. Very convenient pick up and drop off right at the airport. No shuttle necessary.

Very Upset with KYAK, Not ENTERPRISE
Pros: Enterprise employees at the Indianapolis Airport were very helpful in helping me with renting a car (w/no record of a reservation handled through KYAK).
Cons: After arriving @ the Indianapolis Airport ENTERPRISE, I was really frustrated to learn that they had no record of my car rental through KYAK.
I had made a copy of my car rental (through KYAK) booking/confirmation agreement - I was amazed to learn that my KYAK car rental had been booked an ENTERPRISE office in some distant city /suburb around INDIANAPOLIS that none of us were familiar with. That is why the rate agreed upon during my KYAK reservation was at least $100 cheaper than the IND Airport price. I will not use KYAK for future reservations.

Paid for roadside assistance and didn't get it.
Pros: The van was nice and clean. We fit comfortably and it drove nice.
Cons: We paid extra for roadside assistance and when we hit a coyote no one came and they made us drove over 200 miles to get a replacement to not have a suitable replacement. Not happy with enterprise at all.
Pros: the quoted rates were increased when I got to the Alamo check-out counter in Indianapolis..

Instead, I was publicly ridiculed by the staff (mike manager) and told "if I want to rent at alamo again, you will have to apologize for calling the guy at desk rude". Terrible service, rude staff. Pickup process not intuitive but the rest perfect!
Pros: Garage attendant gave me a free upgrade to a nicer car! Once I got through the initial rental process at the self-serve kiosk, the experience was excellent. The car was clean, in tip-top shape and performed admirably. The actual pickup and drop-off at the garage was also good.
Cons: When I arrived at the Car Center in Indianapolis it wasn't immediately evident what I should do. There was no "Alamo" attendant at the desk and I had to stand there a few minutes before another attendant came over and showed me how to use the kiosk. The checkout took forever but I did finally get my car.
Cons: Hertz is WAY overpriced. I will NEVER rent from them again. They cut costs by not employing enough costumer service reps to attend to customers for check out. Time is money, and I do not have the time to wait 2 hrs after I get to an airport for an overpriced rental.
They don't flex their pricing and you can generally expect to pay over 25% additional costs in fees and taxes (not included in the agreed costs). My bill was $280 and I paid $382 with no added insurance... over $100 in taxes & fees!

Worst Car Rental Experience Ever!
Pros: Not much -very disappointing
I was happy it didn't break down; the counter rep was nice.

3. Was told this is all we have due to a special event
4. Outside of the car beat-up not what I paid for to have to ride in a beat up vehicle.

Unclear cost to rent
Pros: Cleanliness is good. Quick check in and out.
Cons: Strong smell in the car, I had to leave the windows open for 2 hours before the smell was gone.
Booked the car for 6 days for a project. Asked the lady if I can return the car early for less cost if project finishes early. She said yes. Returned it on day 4. Total amount charged was just $15 lower than the quoted bill. The receipt said there was a minimum charge, which I was not told of at the time of check in.

Pros: Car was clean, ready and fueled when I arrived. Great fuel economy and great price. Turning the car in was a total breeze and made getting to the airport expedient.
Cons: Spent way too long at the counter trying to pick up the vehicle. Reservations need a separate counter or clerk so that the lines don't get held up by other customers. And the upselling is a little unnecessary.

Pros: This is the second time this month that I have rented a car from Dollar at its IND location. The check-in process was quick; the lot attendant was helpful--exchanging the designated car for one that was better--and helping to adjust seat. The return process was equally efficient.

Pros: Got the car quickly as expected.
Cons: Agent claimed that they couldn't honor the reservation because of unavailability of car. After pressing a bit, one car magically showed up and we got the rental car. The agent at the counter was rude when I asked him to repeat the directions to the car.

Cons: I didn't like that when I went to pick up the car I was told the insurance I had bought with the car would not be a legitimate form of coverage. So I had to purchase insurance at the Dollar rental kiosk which cost me more money. I think if your company needs to be in agreement of what is sold with their rental cars.

Pros: Outside attendants were very nice. Keys were locked inside the car, and they sent someone to "break into" the car in record time. We were on our way with very little delay.
Cons: Inside of car was not vacuumed and inside windshield was very dirty, making it difficult to see. It was a rainy weekend and the windshield wipers were in very poor shape.
Pros: Great check in service. The manager at this location was able to correct a $250 overcharge from the Schiller Park location and was very helpful.

Dodge Journey in Indianapolis
Pros: IND is an extremely easy airport to rent from and drop of to.
Cons: The Dodge Journey feels like a second tier rental. Even the 2017 model lacked automatic lift gate and rearview camera. Thrifty should sell off this inventory and go with a cheaper and still nicer SUV or crossover.

Pros: The Yukon was a comfortable ride for my daughter's school trip. Plenty of room, power, and I averaged over 21mpg.
Cons: Picked up from Indianapolis Int'l. The original vehicle I was assigned had already been rented, so I was sent on a wild goose chase to pick it up. I had to return to the kiosk and was given another vehicle.
Cons: I was upgraded when I picked up and never told I till the vehicle was returned.

Not available when expected
Pros: When we were finally able to get the vehicle we had originally booked, it was clean, beautiful and more than we could hope for. We booked a premium SUV-Suburban and it came equipped with a dual DVD system, leather, trailer hitch, etc and was perfect for our trip with a family of 7 to Denver for a softball tournament.
Cons: We were supposed to pick the vehicle up at 12. Upon arrival, they didn't have it and tried to give us a mini-van. Keep in mind, we are picking this up at an airport. He had someone drop him off, waited in line for 30 minutes and they didn't have the vehicle.
later that day, they called and said they weren't sure they would get it in, and offered us a Tahoe. We needed the extra space in the back, and this isn't what we had booked. We declined, and called all other rental places to see if they happened to have a premium SUV available-there were none.
Finally-they called around 4:30pm to let us know that it was available.
If it weren't for this incident in getting the car, we would have said excellent. As far as the desk help-they couldn't have cared less that we were inconvenienced.
