Port transfer, location, breakfast, pleasant staff
The staff !!! The people who works at Liostasi are absolutely amazing ! from the reception to the bars you will meet a warm, service minded and fun crew. The hotel is very good indeed but the staff is what makes it incredible :) Special thanks to Karima, Lida, Nico and Rossela - we already miss you guys !! the bathroom is really not nice. It is extremely small and the shower place floods the bedroom. Staying in a hotel on this level, we should not need to wipe the room's floor after taking a shower.
we've stayed just for 2 nights but they were absolutely amazing! the staff, the location and the swimming pool are great!
Beautiful pool over ocean. Clean and modern rooms. Restaurant menu is promising, but food is not as good as expected.
Really good hotel, staff is really friendly, nice room, very good price, everything perfect
Excellent staff, stunning setting and views, fantastic food, great outdoor/communal areas decor. Beautiful room terrace. For a spa hotel, children should not be allowed. They routinely destroyed the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere (One child plus respective parents yelling at any given time ruin the atmosphere). Also, the size and decor of the rooms was not at the same level as the outdoor/restaurant/pool areas, but was in a different style and lower quality, with relatively small rooms and tiny bathroom.
Everything, the friendly staff, the excellent service, cleaniliness of rooms, breakfast etc. From the moment we got our complimentary welcome drink untill we were dropped at the port we were treated like royals! Absolutely nothing!
They charged the jacuzzi. And the bathroom floor was always wet due to the fact that water came out of the shower
Hotel high quality but not totally luxirious. a jacuzzi free to use but not very clean. The room was really nice. Spa/ Massage available upon request => not very cheap. The swimming pool was great, loved it but the water wasn't heated ! The view was wonderful. Perfect place for lovers or a group of friends. The staff was nice too. Free pick up at the port if requested. Free breakfast really good and various. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from downtown => you have to take stairs to go up to reach the center (that can be fastidious). For a "luxurious" hotel, the towels were not very soft (looked like used a couple of times ) and did not gave us shampoo/ soap samples for the second day. If you don't close all the doors and windows - the air conditionning won't work=> it is an automatic system (this comment may sound weird, but once you will be in the room you will get it ;-) !). We did not have much to spend, so we felt a bit apart from the others who were taken drinks and food at the hotel bar while they were near the swimming pool.
the staff ,the location , the relaxing atmosphere, the decoration of the rooms
Loved the hotels restaurant food, and spa. Did not like the sewer smell in the room each evening, very hard beds, very cheap phones w/ no phone directory.Internet only works in the bottom half of the facility.
1St of all the staff was great cheerful and helpful... from the manager to the maid... The spa was soooooooo great cant wait to go back again... the location of the hotel is unique cause it is on the hill net to the beach tough.. The room was so simple and elegant for our vacation... the best think was the view None... cant wait for next year to visit them earlier...
excellent hotel, very friendly stuff, delicius food and a gorgeous Spa center
I liked very much the new hotel restaurant and the stuff services.
It was close to everything That we found out on the morning of leaving that we had to pay cash for the hotel after booking online with my credit card details.
This is a family run business that truly exemplifies the spirit of kindness that defines Ios. They welcomed us openly even though we made our reservation totally last minute, they treated us like family, including giving us rides when needed, and even gave us a parting gift. Truly wonderful experience.
The staff was nice, the location was convenient. There's not really wifi in all the rooms. Only those close to the reception desk, maybe half.
Our stay at Pelagos Studios lasted for 4 days and we really enjoyed a lot! To begin with the owners are amiable, helpful and we appreciated a lot the fact that they are an adorable family, something that represents the domestic style of the residence. Furthermore, the rooms keep their traditional style of the Aegean Sea and will help you enjoy your stay, since they are fully equipped, clean and perfectly maintained. However what makes the difference is the magnificent veranda which gives a unique view over the sea and you can enjoy a cold drink admiring the infinite blue. Finally the studios are within walking distance from the 'Chora'(the center of the island) and the very beautiful beach of Mylopotas!! We strongly recommend going there!
location was great equal walking distance from town and beach. didn't need to catch a bus once.
Almost nothing Noisy environment
The location and the price.
Great location between the city and beach with a beatiuful sea view. It is the most kind and helpfull staff in all of Greece and we really recomend this place to anyone!!
Great hotel. Super friendly staff. Loved the vines over the walkway to keep you cool in the day. These are the places are enjoying staying in. Been in the family for years and they truly make you feel welcome. Thanks for making our holiday. Matt and Carol.
People at hotel is very friendly, the hotel is near the beach and hotel and rooms are very clean!
very quiet place with nice people not far away from the beach and the port!! the shower not very praticable!
I stayed at the Galini Pension for 3 nights and I liked the fact that it was very quiet and close to the beach. I believe that the room was overpriced without breakfast included in that price.
calm, nice garden
Very nice appartmentl with very clean room and friendly staff. It is located just outside the port with an short walk to the beach. Excellent.
Beach down the street, Hora (nightlife) 20-minute walk.Need to rent a car to see the island,. Very quiet.
nice place with a good location and staff very helpful and polite.
Galini was a fantastic hotel the staff were better than 1st rate being family run you felt very much like part of the family though not smothered. The rooms were cleaned and sheets and bedding provided daily. the location though quiet was only 3 minutes walk from the port which is vibrant and full of locals eating and drinking in all an outstanding experience
The proximity to the hora was great and the staff were extremely friendly. The hotel also offered a great pool for the lazy traveller
The staff were fantastic, as were their recommendations on tours and restaurants in the local area. The hotel is situated a short walk from town and is definitely one of the better looking hotels in the area. I would definitely stay in this hotel again! The bed was a little harder than used to.
The relaxed feeling around the awesome pool combined with the very friendly and welcoming staff. Room looked over the pool and was very nice and modern.
Super-friendly manager/staff! A nice room with a balcony overlooking the pool area and the Ios Village.
Everything from the room to the staff, Thanks megahle!! Nothing at all
Everything was in perfect order, hotel stuff satisfied all requests I had. Location is a very strong point: it take five minutes to walk into Ios action, but the hotel offers quiet (not easy to find in Ios - Chora!)
Lovely hotel, great views of the town. Around a 10min walk into town down hill. Nice quiet area away from all the noise if the town. Hotel owners very friendly and helpful. No breakfast available. Walk back from town is all uphill.
The owners of the hotel were fantastic. Loved the location and the atmosphere. It was super clean and the best hotel of our trip. The food at the restaurant was delicious and very affordable. We had a beautiful sunset view from our large room terrace.
The location was good, the staff was friendly and the hotel was very nice the airconditioner in my room did not work and the satellite tv was not as advertised, only foxlife was the only chanel they had.
pool Rooms are very small, not a good value for money. Breakfast average with many wasps...
The family who run the otel were warm and welcoming. The pool was wonderful to beat the heat of Greece. Easy bus ride into main town or a quick walk. Beautiful view of the sea.
People there are very friendly Nothing
The pool was gorgeous. We were booked for two nights and our ferry to the island got canceled because of high winds. I called the hotel to move our stay back a night because it was impossible to get to the island and was told I would incur a whole nights extra charge because I hadn't canceled in the stated time period. I reiterated that I would still be staying there the number of nights I had booked but couldn't get there because of canceled ferries and they did not care. I got them to negotiate it down from charging me a whole extra night, but it was out of my control and they were unreasonable. I was very upset and disappointed.
The hotel is managed by a very friendly family. They look after all the time. Very well located: 10 minutes walking to the port and 15 minutes to Chora. They also offer you free shuttle to the port. Excellent service and fantastic swimming pool. The bar offers fantastic cocktails for a good price. The rooms are quite good. Nothing.
The attitude and assistance of the staff. The relaxing atmosphere and absence of noise.
The staff were very friendly, the room was great, and the view from the pool was very pretty.
Our second stay here and not our last! As before clean, quiet, loverly pool, loverly owners.
the friendliness of staff and their willingness to help- give advice about the island/ having a balcony and swimming pool with great views/ good public transport to main locations around the island (main town walkable if not too hot)
he staff was great, although no music could be played after arpund 10pm..family oriented hotel. If you wnat something more relaxed lok closer to the port. the pool closed at 8pm which was expected but did not allow for any time in teh pool at sun-down/sun-set. food selection could be better.
Great location, great view, great price, great staff, brilliant stay. Will definitely be coming back next year!
I really like the service, the staff was amazing. The pool side was very welcoming and the pool was great size and depth. I really enjoyed my stay at the rita's place.
Hospitality, very nice location, nice swimming pool, nice room, wifi, nice view, air conditioning in the room. Breakfast not included, little bathroom.
My stay was fantastic...affordable and for what you get for the money is great! They picked me up from the dock...George and Rita were so welcoming and whenever you needed something or directions etc they were more than happy to help. The rooms were clean and so comfortable and private. The pool and view is also an extra on top of te rest...I highly reccomend
The room was really nice and spacious, it was very well equipped and had a great terrace with awesome sea views. Also, the pool was great, and the staff was extremely helpful and nice.
Rita's Place Hotel was such a great place. It has a boutique hotel feel with great service. The hotel is run by a couple that is so nice and helpful. I really felt at home. The hotel really is a great value too. I can't wait to go back. Nothing!
The hotel is close to the port and main city (Chora) The room is very basic & poorly decorated. The beds were extremely hard. The hotel is next to the main road & there is a lot of noise for traffic. Parts of the hotel are still unfinished/under construction. The hotel manager claimed (unconvincingly) to have a problem with the credit card equipment in order to be paid in cash. Finally the machine was miraculously fixed.
Pool area was nice Very bare, not even water was provided for drinking. Everything was an extra charge.
The best place i've stayed at so far in my travels. It really felt like home. The room was a ice, it had a great balcony. There's an outdoor kitchen and bbq which made it really easy to meet new people from all over the world. Lambros the owner was amazing. Really friendly and only too happy to help and to ensure the stay was perfect. I ended up extending my stay for a week. Loved it. Will definitely be back next year.
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable of area, Close to port and beach. No internet. Not close to city center
Kindness of staff; location, price.
Good location near the port, Lambros met us when we got off the ship so very easy to get there. Location a bit away from the action of the old town... Not neccessarily a problem as that is what we were after. Mosquitoes a bit of a problem at night. We worked out that blocking their entry into the room by rolling up towels and putting them in front of the bathroom and front doors all was good.
The owners were very friendly and helpful
We really appreciated the Staff, really really kind and helpful! The room is really clean, and big enough for 3 people. A big terrace too! 2 little things, but just little: small bathroom, the curtains of the shower were not enough :(
the staff were so accommodating and patient. Lambros is amazing.
Sharon was very helpful and friendly, so close to the water and the hotel pool great. some staff had attitude, and seemed un-interested.
The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly! The free internet was a definite bonus and the swimming pool/sunbathing area was excellent! The restaurant attached to the hotel is superb, serving the best pizza we've ever eaten! It's only a short walk into the main town area and literally a 3 minute walk from the port. Overall, this hotel was the best we stayed in during our island hopping trip! Breakfast not included in the price - an additional 10 euro per person, which didn't seem good value when you could just as easily buy a toasted sandwich from the bar area for 2 euro!
Beautiful food... very friendly staff and a nice hotel set next to a perfect beach.. can't ask for much more... Oh and the pizza is great!
The hotel is old and dated inside and I was horrified at how the poor bird and fishes have such dirty filthy cages and the poor bird is stuck in the dirty filthy cage, it out me off eating at the hotel! Our room was clean and tidy but not hygenic it smelt of urine as soon as the doors and windows were closed. It is value for money the hotel if your a back packer and trying to get a good deal but for a young couple or family its not very good! The pool is great and the location to the beach but the hotel is old and dated inside
The hotel is in a fantastic position: directly on the beach so when you have breakfast you can see the sea. Is also near the port, useful when you arrive/leave without a car/scooter. There is also a wonderful swimming pool with a painstaking garden, very nice during the evening. Personnel is very friendly and professional. Our room war horrible: beds were little, the shower in the bathroom unconfortable. In any case, as we stayed most of our time outside we didn't care about this aspect.
That it is dierectly at the beach! Rooms were easy but comfortable. The pool 3 meters in front of the door! Food-prices were a little bit high!
Fantastic, Sharon Mike and the staff were a pleasure to stay with, would defiantly stay here again.
The owners were very kind and welcoming. The place had a wonderful charm to it and the pool was spectacular ! no
The rooms were big and clean. Plus, we had a very nice pool with a pool bar. It was very relaxing. The food and the drinks at the bar were excellent. The hotel owners were really nice to us. Service was great; we had a problem with the shower but they fixed it right away. It was in walking distance to Chora (10 min). Our time there was amazing! There was nothing we didnt like.
The staff was fantastic, they made our stay very nice. It's a family run hotel and they are super friendly. They arranged transport and speetboot with discount for us. And they give good advice for restaurants.
-the location is incredible, it is about a 200-300m walk from the port where the ferry drops you. This is fantastic because you can avoid the hassle. It is only a 100m walk to the beah as well which is also right near a bar and some nice restaurants. The pool and poolside bar and restaurant at this hotel are incredible. There are alot of young people staying here (18-25yrs) when i was there. In particular, there were alot of young women. Very good scenery. -the owner was very rude to us upon arrival. our ferry from another island to this one was cancelled due to high winds, and as a result we arrived a day later at this hotel then we were menat to. because we had booked online, we were a day late for our booking, through no fault of our own. The owner was very rude (gave us death stares and spoke to us in a bad tone), even though we clearly explained there was nothing we could do as the enxt ferry didnt leave for the next day. I would not stay here again if this is how the owner treats all of her customers. I felt like telling her off. Very rude and bitchy. It impacted on our stay. Also, the room ie very very tiny and not comfortable. The bathroom is quite poor as well.
The view, the staff and the cleanliness!
We soaked up the sun, ate and slept extremely well. We went to both the beach and the pool as the hotel was a such a pleasure to be at. The view was amazing and the hotel immaculate. We had absolutely no complaints whatsoever. none!
Magnificent view from the room balcony. We had to take morning tea from the reception downstairs by ourself to our room and drink cold tea by the time we get to our room. No room service! It is 15 minutes walk to beach and 15 minutes walk to the town centre.
We felt we were guests of the family. Beautiful views from the pool and rooms. a/c worked. Shower was small but had good water pressure. They even met us and gave us a ride from the ferry to the hotel. The beds were rock hard. My back still hurts.
The room and pool facilities appeared to have been recently remodeled and were beautiful with a great view of the beach. The husband and wife owners were very attentive and picked us up at the port.
Beautiful view. Pieceful. Appreciated both by adults and teenagers. We will come back.
Everithing there was perfect.
Loved our stay at Katerina, the family are so helpful and approachable. They brought us to and from the port. Really clean rooms and gorgeous balcony with full view of Mylopathas Beach or pool if you don't fancy the walk, however the Hotel has great location; equidistant from both beach and town.
Fantastic place, great view, service and rooms. A must stay hotel in Ios!
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Service, quality, and value for money of food and beveages offered at the poolside bar was excellent. Although there were many restaurants a short cab ride away from the hotel there weren't too many within a short walking distance.
I would recommend this hotel to everybody! We did'nt want to leave this hotel, place and people. I left with tears in my heart and eyes... We where there from 02/09/2010 untill 05/09/2010. The hotel was clean and up to date. The area surrounding the hotel was nice and the views where stunning! But the best of al was the family who ownes the place.... They where so sweet! The mum and dad of Nikiforos are the sweetest people you can find... The owners Nikiforos and Lisa are the best! People who you want to drink a beer with in a bar and just chat about things... very helpfull and generous. I loved it and it has a place in my heart.. Going to visit them again soon! Greetings from rainy belgium Antwerp... βοριάς πήρε τα ρούχα μου κι ο νότος τ' άρματά μου και η καλή παρέα σας μου πήρε την καρδιά μου. αλέχανδρος
Perfect location, well equipped hotel and moreover the perfect recipe included a warm welcome and supportive family team!
Incredible service : the manager, Niki, is so nice !!!! He is willing to help you with any demand, and does it so well ! He found us a car, knowing that we didn't find one by ourselves; he gave us rides anywhere we needed to go; wonderful breakfasts served by his lovely wife and daughter. The room was spotless, delighting balcony and swimming pool... Everything was perfect, and for the best price we've ever found in the Cyclades !!! We deeply recommend it !
Hotel run by lovely family, can't do enough for you!! We stayed in this hotel 20years ago and took our 12 & 14 year old boy's, they too loved it, the Pool is fab!! We picked again because of it's quite location-we wanted a good night's sleep!! Hope to return soon if the euro improve's.
Although no-frills, this is a well-maintained, comfortable hotel with attentive owners. The rooms are clean, bright, in good working order, our shared balcony very beautiful. The pool area is large and the water comfortably warm. It's a fair walking distance to the beautiful Yialos beach (8 - 10 min), to the port (10 - 15 min), and a short bus ride from the port to the main town. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Very friendly staff, they asked us several times if we whanted to go whit them if they drove to Ios town anyway. Very quiet location. A little far from Ios town by foot, but the taxi was cheap.
Very helpful and kind owners who gave us lots of useful information. Rooms were comfortable, clean and well equipped. Good breakfast. Nice quiet location.
Outstanding customer service, very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere and homey. Really enjoyed our time
The hotel staff was very considerate and help me in any thing I need. The swimming pool was very nice.
Really good hotel staff, (including willing to help manager), quiet place, clean room, swimming pool is small, but ok - can be alternative to the beach. Closest beach is not that far (walking distance), and the bus going every 10 min (from the port, 10 min by foot) to the Chora and Mylopotas beach give the options. The room was small and there was a few places to place the luggage. No privacy on the balcony. Within the price range though one should say that this is acceptable.
Business run by a very nice man! He'll do anything he can to help you! Good location, always full of young people, you'll see often groups of girls too. Nice swimming pool. Booked a room for 90e and given a 70e room. When it was time to pay the lady said that I would pay 90 because of booking.com commissions: not fair. Never paid that extra on other hotels in Greece!! The cleaner opened my door while I was asleep in the late morning( forgot to lock...) to ask if I wanted the room serviced. Excuse me, I'm sleeping, shut that door and go!
Wonderful owners and fantastic pool/bar area overlooking the bay & port area. Small bathroom & hot water runs out in a short amount of time.
The staff were friendly and helpful, even letting us choose between two rooms when we arrived! The pool area is fantastic with a pool side cafe. The bus stop to the town or the beach leaves from right outside the hotel. The hotel is not in the town and not in the port but half way in between. This is great for a quiet peaceful stay (the bus makes it easily accessible) but not so great for getting back from the town at 4am!
There was very nice pool facilities and it was close to the port and also a ten minute walk to the village(chora). Its close locality to both of these places was very convenient because we went to the village at night for party purposes and the port for dinner and food etc. The hotel staff were very amicable and helpful and the food at the poolside bar was delicious. I would recommend the hotel for any young people wanting a good base to party at night and chill by the pool by day. It also has a bus stop outside the hotel's door which brings you to the village or Mylopatas beach. It's a very modern hotel that is very good value. It also has free Wifi throughout the hotel which is very handy if you have portable electronic devices. The pool bar should remain open at night because it closed at 8 which was inconvenient
Fantastic views perfect location very friendly. breakfast was very limilted
Very good service, they helped us a lot, and a cute hotel. Big pool and a nice bar. Lies near the port. The bus stop is right outside the hotel. It took 15 minutes to walk to the centre and you had to walk on a long stair and it was heavy.
The family who own the hotel were so welcoming. The pool was really nice too.
everything, was great and very friendly. Will be there again!
We stayed in Homer's Inn for only two nights. It was a nice start of our roundtrip in the Cyclade Islands area. Very friendly welcome (transport from the port to the hotel), lovely swimming pool with good music and refreshments. Ios Island is very lively with a lot of young people. Our sons promised to come back...Panos and his parents try to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
The staff were very helpful and spoke very good english. The hotel was well set up with free internet/computers and ferry information. The pool and bar were great considering it is a cheap hotel. They offered tranfsers to/from the port. There was a bus stop just outside for the ride uphill into town and then it was an easy walk downhill at the end of the night. Fantastic value for money!! Nothing to complain about. Basic Greek room and bathroom - as to be expected
