Younis and Fateh at reception were wonderful. Extremely helpful and accommodating. Welcomed us with traditional Turkish tea and coffee and homemade cake. Didn't keep us waiting to sort out any paperwork or payment, took us to the booked room, which was as described. A few minutes later our luggage arrived with Sardar, who incidentally welcomed us upon arrival at the hotel and, took our bags from the taxi and offered us tea and coffee in the reception. Sardar also offered us water bottles for our taxi ride to the airport. Younis was fantastically accommodating in allowing us to check out much later then we were supposed to due to a late evening flight. He gave us another room as our room had to be prepared for the next guest. I offered to pay but he refused to take any money for the 5 hour late check out. I had prior to booking asked the hotel about a late check out, they responded with that it depended upon availability on the day and couldn't promise a late check out, but would do what they could. And they certainly did that. Breakfast was varied and plentiful and of a good standard. The lady who works in the restaurant, I didn't catch her name, was nice and ensured that there was sufficient food and topped things up as required. Restaurant is on the 5th floor but there is a lift so it's not a problem. A hotel with a caring and friendly feel, is located at the heart of Sultanahmet tourist attractions.
From the road there are a couple of steps to come down to access the hotel, could be an issue for some people with restricted mobility. Having said that Sardar was helpful to one member of our group with restricted mobility, to ensure that they could navigate the steps safely.
This is not listed as a 5 star hotel but we got 5 star guest treatment. From the moment we arrived at night, Ebru and her team were standing outside to welcome us. They helped us with luggage. Immediately offered us tea, coffee and cakes. One thing that stands out is that the team is very knowledgeable about pretty much every subject. Whenever we needed something they immediately took care of it. We never felt that we were just some guests occupying the rooms. We were treated very personable by each member of the team. We often chatted in the lounge over coffee and tea. The hotel even arranged excellent tours for us with experienced drivers who were punctual. The location was excellent. Just a short walk from the Blue Mosque area. Right across the street short walk were all kinds of restaurants including McDonalds (which my kids wanted). Two markets were nearby just a quick walk which had everything for daily needs. The rooms were clean and they cleaned it for us wherever we asked. Bathrooms had hot shower regularly. We felt like family staying here. I can say staying at this hotel truly added to a pure Turkish hospitality experience and I would definitely stay here again and recommend others.
The staff were exceptionally friendly, tea and fresh cake always available- even at 11.30 at night. It was very well placed for main tourist spots, and close to a tram stop if you want to go further afield.
Some elements of the hotel a bit tired looking- but outstanding value for money, with breakfast included.
the beds are small
This hotel exceeded my expectation. Very warm welcome provided. Good range of breakfast. A very good hospitality. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Highly recommended! Location is perfect. Few minutes walk to Sultanhamet tram station, few minutes walk to all of the main attractions.
