Absolute perfection! Wonderful room, great swimming pool, exquisite gourmet food, very friendly staff. Best hotel that I ever stayed at.
Drop dead gorgeous views. Food was overrated but the facilities are top notch and the staff was great.
Overwhelming new hotel surrounded by vineyards and with a view on the Luberon montains and provided with all confort. Its feels like coming home in the Provence.
The lay out and individuality of the suites really wonderful.A hotel but with the freedom of your own space .Pool area very relaxing and peaceful.Catering for fine dinning and also more relaxed atmosphere of the seconed resturant. The views. All in all very pleasant stay.cleaness of the whole estate. The lack of a spa.
Service, facilities, cooking…All was the excellent. I spent very good time.
The pool is fabulous and the outside dining was wonderful......The service at the pool was great and the staff in general was very attentive to what ever your needs were.. My husband and I biked all around the area...we will definately return to this hotel. Wonderful atomosphere.. we'll always remember our stay!! Nothing!!!
Beautiful location, great service (especially little unexpected touches like turning down service and chocolates, bathrobes etc). Large pool, great views and close to a lot of picturesque villages in the region. Even though it is pricey we thought we got good value for money. Unfortunately, despite asking in the morning, no vegetarian meal was provided at the bistro for dinner. They indicated something would be prepared but I ended up just eating side dishes. Would have gone somewhere else for dinner if I had known. For non-vegetarians the meal was good.
The hotel was located top of the hill in Luberon. This is one of the kind hotel. Room, staff, amenities etc...are very marvelous. My children were very pleased with the heated outside swimming pool. The breakfast is bit poor and pricy. They charged 15 euro(same as adults) for breakfast to my 3 years old son. It should be charged half or free!
Everything was just great. The rooms are small cottage appartments in a row, but very well equiped. The complex is located inside a vineyard with stunning views all around. You can have breakfast, lunch and dinner outside if the temperature and wind allow for. They offer nice wines from their own vineyard (and from elsewhere of course). The restaurant offers moderately priced meals, which are not really haute cuisine, but nevertheless very well prepared.
Set in beautiful countryside, quiet, well designed, and with a great restaurant. Already planning a return trip.
Beautiful location, lovely room (in the Mas building), helpful staff, gorgeous pool. Breakfast and meals were expensive, so although the food looked lovely, we chose not to eat at the hotel.
Food: Excellent. Simming pool: Perfect. Grounds: beautiful. Decor: beautiful. Room: 1) You must provide more space for clothes. There is a large wall space to the right of the TV where an armoire or chest of drawers should be installed for clothes storage. We had to live out of luggage on the floor because there was not enough closet space. 2) Restaurant: The last night of our stay we felt very rushed by the dining room staff.
Superb setting, in particular the terrasse where meals are served. Very friendly personnel. Outstanding cuisine. The gym is not up to the standard of the hotel. No shower in 368 Euro room! Generally a little overpriced (in particular wines). Menu changes only once per month
The view, the setting, the tranquility.
The pool was great very uncomfortable beds, weak air conditioner, bad breakfast
Beautiful hotel, gorgeous pool area and gardens. Shower was attached to the bath and could not be hung onto the wall for showering. Had to have a bath instead, which made washing my long hair difficult.
Facilities and service Bathroom was a little tired.
The hotel is very nice and clean and we got a room upgrade. Good location for exploring the region. Rooms on the village side are a bit noisy.
The location, the hotel, the room and the spa are wonderfull. The receptionist was adamant during checkout before a misunderstanding regarding the payment of spa services. I hired a half-day spa that included two massages and a "dejeuner" for 195 euros, however when my husband did the checkout said they were two massages with a "petit dejeuner" as I was not present and there was not half a day spa with petit déjeuner but only with déjeuner the receptionist decided to collect the massages a la carte, in case 215 euros without petit déjeuner or déjeuner. When I exit the spa to lunch the mess was made, I clarified the situation and said that I intended to have lunch, then the recepcinista said that could not be possible because the bill was.. ...Already closed. Despite my insistence she remained unmoved and I ended up with no breakfast and no lunch and still did pay 20 euros more. This situation is ridiculous for a 5 star hotel. Much more than unfortunate, with this gesture they spoil my day and all the well-being brought by the spa.
Location staff room Price of meals and breakfast
Exceptional!! I can assure you that this hotel is one of the best places to stay while in Provence! We stayed for 2 nights and wish we could have stayed for a week. Since you will need a car to get to Gordes, you can just use this hotel as your base and drive easily to all the other little towns in a very short amount of time. The view from the hotel is stunning and the service is impeccable. Our room was huge and had an incredible view. We were moved to a valley view since there was availability with no problem. It truly is everything you would expect from a 5 star and more!
The welcome by the male receptionist was very good Gift of wine --a nice touch The female receptionist at check out needs to attend a customer service training coarse
outstanding location; friendly/helpful staff; attractive spa; for the category, too much noise from the elevator and the next door bathrooms
The room was beautiful, the location was supurb, and the service outstanding. Breakfast is overpriced. Eat elsewhere for breakfast.
nice views and decor. Reception business-like with no welcome, no smiles and just a general haughtiness. Very over-priced and not at all frindly.Brekafast 27euros - extortionate! We did not take it and instead had a nice breakfast in the village for 8 euros. This was our 6th or 7th stay at the hotel (last was in 2004) and it has changed greatly for the worse unfortunately.
We had an upstairs room that opened onto a small balcony (not large enough to sit on) with a beautiful view. The room was clean and comfortable, nothing too fancy. The pool was wonderful to relax at after a long day of visiting the hilltop villages in the area. The woman at the front desk was great - she offered to get us dinner reservations and was very helpful (neither of us speak French). Great hotel overall! Location is about a mile outside the actual village of Gordes, so you must drive into the village... not a big deal, but worth noting.
Location, Hotel itself with grounds and gardens.
Nice staff. Stunning location. Disappointing room. Extremely expensive I.E. very poor value for money. The website promises more than the hotel delivers. £14Pp for bread & pastries breakfast, although very nicely done, is 'frustrating'.
small rooms, everything extra charges
It was very conveniently situated near the magnificent town of Gordes. The hotel had a swimming pool which was of reasonable size to cool off after a day in the heat. Lovely gardens and views from the hotel The garden rooms, whilst in a lovely setting were very warm at night particluarly during the current hot spell - limited ability to leave windows open to get the breeze on the lower levels because of flies and security. Breakfast was very expensive for what it was and not worth the money
Gordes is beautiful. Do not expect to walk there from the hotel though as it is a bit precarious and long. Hotel is charming... had garden room N12 with no vis a vis and it was like having a small (really small)appartment as opposite to a hotel room. We loved it anyway. Did not have breakfast there and 5euro for small bottle of beer is a bit much but nonetheless would go back. Pool is great and very quiet.
Excellent breakfast, quiet nice swimming pool area, discrete service, well organised, good parking facilities, well located, nice place, good airconditioning not possible to have diner or souper but very good restaurants in the neighourhood,.No refrigerator in the room
the beautiful garden just outside the room; good parking facility; breakfast is too expansive; room is very small; need to pay everything at the time of check-in and as a result cutting short the staying time is not possible.
We liked the location; the hotel is located just before entering Gordes, very easy to reach. Also, there is a large parking lot.... Never a problem with parking. The biggest drawback was the size of the bedroom and bathroom.... Those were so tiny.... Unfortunately they showed much larger on the pictures. The so-called "terrace" was also disappointing (comfort room)... It is only a small cheap plastic table and two plastic chairs in front of the bedroom door, where all guest were walking by.... The picture, again, showed something different...
The gardens are lovely. The staff was not just unhelpful but downright callus, even hostile. I became terribly ill on our first night and had to go to the local hospital. They didn't offer to help us out in any way and refused several specific requests. Not only that, but they made a fuss about us not wanting to pay for a breaksfast that we didn't get to eat because we had been in the emergency room all night.
The friendliness of the staff especially the manager It's position. If you were visiting towns in the area you had to negotiate all the narrow twisty roads at least twice a day.
The view of gordes from the hotel and its courtyard is gorgeous although only a select few rooms enjoy the same vista so, if this is important to you insist on this point when booking. The "table d'Hôtes" has a set menu which you should check ahead as there is no "a la carte" option; the food was well-prepared and delectable on the night we had dinner there. We booked a Deluxe room and were disappointed about the view on a stone wall 10 yards away from our bay window. The room called "Senanque" was quite dark made worse by their electricity saving bulbs. The bathroom however was almost larger than our bedroom and exceptionaly well appointed.
Lovely terrace view over to Gordes,Provence. Friendly and helpful staff. Large carpark and easy to find.
Hotel was in a great location and served a gourmet dinner. No electricity in bathroom.
Lovely staff who could not do enough to help me. Great view from the dining room and dinner was served x3 per week which was of a good standard with local wines from the area. The room was very clean and basic but i didnt spend much time in the room during the daytime so it didnt matter to me. It was good value for money in comparison to some other hotels in Gordes town, but still had the view.
Helpful, welcoming staff, great location and view.
Excellent location. Easy walk into village of Gordes. Great view from outside terrace of villiage and valley. Rooms small but exceptionally clean well appointed and comfortable. Off street parking a real bonus. Food in restaurant was fabulous. Loved the brief stay and would definately rebook.
Comfortable well appointed room. Nice view out over Gordes. Nice pool although was unfortunately a bit cold when we were there. Good breakfast. Bit expensive.
The room was clean, the terrace overlooking Gordes was very nice and the staff were helpful. The price was a bit too high considering there is lots of competition in the area.
Very nice staff and very good value and close to the village.
Friendly and welcoming atmosfere in the hotel Smoking - there were people during evening who can smoke in the restaurant and lobby so non fumer have no chance to enjoy evening there
The pool and a family environment.
No air conditioning
Clean rooms and friendly staff. Nothing I did not like about it.
The swimming pool. Front Desk staff were very unfriendly. Did not have a place for us to take dinner in the hotel and we had to go out.
Nice location No air conditioning - hot, sticky rooms. Very odd staff - not at all helpful. Set menu in restaurant - absolutely no choice - poor quality food - no other restaurants nearby. Uncomfortable stay
The hotel is a beautiful property and the swimming pool quite nice. The lack of air conditioning in 35 degree celsius heat was unbearable and prevented me and my family from sleeping at all. The comment when asked about AC was that the hotel was a 12th century property, but since it was obvious the hotel had been renovated, it is silly to claim the age of the property as the reason for no AC--after all, they didn't have indoor plumbing in the 12th century either, but they managed to build that into the renovations.
Fabulous pool. Comfortable room. Good food. Kind and unobtrusive service.
The terrace was magnificent. Hotel employees were very nice and helpful. uncomfortable pillows
Absolutely lovely setting.
location and staff
setting, garden, hot tub breakfast was quite expensive, so why charge extra for an omelette? seemed a bit mean. pool did not look particularly inviting
It was perfectly clean and beautifully decorated. Also, the property was lovely and well kept. Every staff member with which I had contact was polite, kind, and helpful. The location is very nice and close to many visitor destinations. I simply liked everything, and I plan to take a group back next summer. The breakfasts were a bit expensive. That said, the selection was huge, and so the price was quite understandable. As a solo traveler, I just made it my big meal of the day. It would be better if the selection was just a little smaller and the price was a bit less. Other than that, I have zero issues. the hotel was wonderful.
Very helpful staff. Rather plain rooms for the price.
The location is beautiful although some rooms look at the car park, which is a pity. The bed are confortable and the staff is helpful as long as you don't ask him something he is not used to as it does not receive many business people.
The garden and breakfast by the stream; quiet and interesting; close to the town
Lovely, relaxing hotel. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast is expensive but it is a great breakfast. Treat it as a brunch and it is good value.
The attractive design and setting of the hotel and the furnishing of the rooms. The restaurant offered a good choice for one occasion. The menu was exactlly the same the second night of our stay
Very nice garden and swimming-pool, beautiful, picturesque and quiet area. Village - Les Imberts - where hotel is situated is not in the center of Gordes, it's about 4 km, so in the evening the only solution is to go by car. The room was not so clean as should be, particularly comparing with the price. The floor (ecpecially in bathroom) was covered with woman, long hair. That should not happen.
Good location to Gordes, friendly staff and rooms were clean.
Excellente room and very good restaurant Need to get a car to go to Gordes
Too close to the road.
The hotel is very cosy. The restaurant L'Ettelan is very good. We had breakfast everyday at the hotel, it was very good, with different types of things to eat and the place of breakfast is by the pool with a beatifull green view.
The hotel was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Please put out more towels. In addition, in winter, it would be good to have an extra blanket. We asked for one, and did receive it. That way, we did not have to increase the heat, which saved the hotel money on the utility cost, and had a more resfful night.
We had a very comfortable room, which was warm and cosy. The girls on reception were very helpful. Breakfast was expensive. l
The swimming pool was clean and the garden around beautifully kept. The breakfast was excellent value and choice. The food in the restaurant was excellent but very expensive. The restaurant menu did not change often enough
according to my bookings.com contract the price of the room was 100 euro per night including breakfeast. however we were not offered breakfeast and were charged 110 euro per night for the room. ken. vincent.
great room and balcony with terrific view. loved David Restaurant. Staff so helpful. Beautiful town, loved every minute of it and would go back.
Great location in the center of Rousillion. Very helpful and friendly staff.
The facility is spacious and right in the middle of this exquisite village. It is easily accessible with parking provided. Rooms were very clean with large beds and some views. baths more than adequate. We were treated with dignity and helpfulness.
The location was awesome! The hotel was was right in the heart of everything! We loved the room and the front desk staff was very helpful!
It was centrally located and clean; the staff were helpful It was expensive - we were not able to use the restaurant
Very nice room, great location, excellent restaurant for dinner (Le David). Great view from Veranda for breakfast. Would be nice to have Breakfast included in the price of the room.
Facilities were very nice. Room very clean, and nicely prepared. Breakfast expensive for what you get. Paid less and gotten more at several other hotels in France.
The helpful and knowledgeble Staff, Great chef, one of the best views in france from rooms and dinng area
Excellent hotel & good location. The hotel's well known restaurant was closed for the season - no meals (except breakfast) were available & no restaurants were open within walking distance. The hotel should have voulentered information about open restaurants.
Beautiful scenery, clean room beautiful scenery, clean room
Great quiet place and wonderful village.
Lovely, secluded, relaxing setting. Not luxury but very comfortable. Brilliant breakfast, home-made jams, excellent choice of food. Lots to do for a family- tennis, table-tennis, pool. Monsieur et madame very friendly and welcoming. Would go again. The evening menu didn't have much for vegetarians so we didn't eat there.
The location and parking arrangement works well if you have a car. The rooms are large, but very sparsely furnished. The location is very quiet. Hard beds; only one very small (and previously used) soap; cheap pillows; no extra pillows; very sparse furnishings; not the kind of place you'd want to spend a rainy day.
We had a wonderful room with a shady porch. Absolutely silent at night. Good swimming pool. Really a nice value and we were very happy.
The restaurant was pretty good. The pool and grounds were nice. There were two very nice dogs that greeted the guests. The first room I was given had no windows. Had to pay extra for a room with glass doors to let in the light. The staff spoke no English. About a mile walk to town.
The room was spacious, decorated in a rustic style. The bed was comfort. The bathroom was adequate. Convenient parking. Breakfast was tasty but limited selection.
Nice sized room, clean, quiet, easy parking. Courteous staff. No problems.
Located just outside the beautiful village of Roussillon, La Petite Auberge is a tranquil haven and is as comfortable and welcoming as staying at home, or with good friends. Beautiful gardens to enjoy, great swimming pool and fabulous food - breakfasts better than anywhere else I've stayed and the half board option is great value.
Even though the (triple) room was fairly small the decor of the room was really lovely and tasteful. The room and (en-suite) bathroom was very clean and the aircon was a huge bonus. The swimming pool is lovely and the hotel is easy to find (on a big road) with plenty of parking space. The Lavender Museum is also very close nearby. The hotel staff was extremely friendly, but unfortunately she couldn't speak english at all, so the communication was a bit limited. Also, when we arrived there was no-one at reception and we had to phone for someone to let us in (to check in).
The central location to places we wanted to visit. Unfortunately it was also very busy for biking. Lots. First of all, we had a hard time finding the place we plugged the address, as listed, into our GPS but had to call as the address incorrectly listed the town in which the hotel was located. We asked if we could shorten our stay from 2 nights to one and were refused. We requested a double bed and were given two singe matresses on a double wooden frame. The beds were made up as singles beds and the matresses kept sliding apart. In addition, the advertised WiiFi was not usable and never worked.
Small, nice and clean. Rooms are very nice and have 'new' style Breakfast is minor and at 8 euro is not a good value for the money - you get one coffee, one small fruit juice, a small basket of mini- croissants, and bread slices with jam and butter. When we asked to re-fill the coffee we were surprised to be charged finally for additional 2.5 euro per cup (without having a notice about it when ordered...).
The beds were not comfortable at all.
Swiming pool for the kids... let us cool down after a long trip on the road Family bedroom on the back was quiet. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, visiting family in the area, so cannot comment
The price is right. You should ask for a top of the hill room facing the growth of trees. I had to ask to have dog waste removed from the steps up to the room. Could have been dangerous at night. No wifi in the room on the lower side of the property. I had to go to the breakfast room for reception.
Clean simple rooms and staff were friendly and helpful.Pool had shady areas nearby.Breakfast simple but good and served promptly. All information was clearly displayed in French and English. It is a short walk to the village, (market on Sundays) and right next to the Lavender Museum. An unpretentious well-run relaxed place in an otherwise expensive area. I think English people would like a kettle in the room to make tea and coffee! It would be good to have local bus information for people with out a car.
Facility is simple but enough for visitors who spend most of the day outside. But the hotel is not very clean, and we had bad bug problems. We didn't take breakfast, so can't comment on that. The best part of this hotel is right next to the lavender museum, and a lot of parking spaces. The country side setting is nice except that it means nothing happening after dark. The location is not bad for visiting surrounding villages and lavender fields if you drive. However, maybe because it is in the countryside, and it is a farm house converted hotel, there are a lot of bugs. As soon as we open the door, a big fly came in and never left the room. And ants running on the floor. The most horrible thing is I was bitten badly by unknown bugs, possibly flea! I got all together 24 bites over one night and they swelled up terribly. The swelling lasted for 4 days, and I had to visit phamacy for medicine. 2 weeks past, the marks of the bites are still visible.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. The food provided at the hotel was very tasty. The location was very nice for driving to different sites throughout the Luberon. There is no wi-fi connection available in the rooms, so we had to walk to the common areas to check emails or do online research. For the price of the breakfast buffet, we felt there could be a better selection of items.
Bar not open until 1800
A nice hotel in a small village.
Since this is the only hotel outside of Rousillon but close to it we had no option. But anyway the place is pretty nice, big room, clean bed, tv and everything you need for a one-night stay. Price is a bit higher than I`ve expected for such a location.
