If you’re looking for a waterfront escape with stunning views of Lake Ontario, head to Residence Inn by Marriott Kingston Water's Edge. One of the best hotels in Kingston, it’s close to some of my favorite attractions, such as boat tours to the 1000 Islands and the red hop-on-hop-off Kingston Trolley. They do a great complimentary buffet breakfast in the cozy dining room too.

The hotel’s spacious suites feature fully equipped kitchens and separate living areas for extended stays. Families will appreciate the full-size refrigerators for late-night snacks and on-site laundry, while business travelers can take advantage of meeting rooms, a business center, and in-suite desks.

Rooms come with either a water or city view too, which is a nice touch. I suggest packing a bathing suit for the refreshing indoor pool and there’s also a well-equipped fitness center.

Located just east of the pretty St. Lawrence River, Hampton Inn by Hilton Kingston is one of the best hotels in Kingston for a central location. If you’re traveling with extended family or friends, take advantage of the connecting rooms or book a Two Queen room, which sleeps four. You can’t beat the location of the Best Western Fireside Inn, with its close proximity to the 1000 Islands and other popular attractions. This charming hotel is known for its friendly service and on check-in it’s easy to see why this is one of the best hotels in Kingston.

I suggest outer-space fans book the Tranquility Base Suite, with a personal crater pool and a lunar lander.

Don’t miss out on a visit to the nearby International Hockey Hall of Fame and Museum to learn about your favorite teams. Located in a 19th-century church with stunning gothic architecture, The Smith Hotel is one of the most unique hotels in Kingston. There are 10 trendy lofts with modern designs, including multi-level layouts with two bedrooms and floor-to-ceiling glass walls.

You can’t get any closer to Queens University than Donald Gordon Hotel and Conference Centre. Located in the heart of the historic campus, this charming property is one of the best hotels in Kingston for those looking to be in a quieter residential area. I suggest you save time to walk around Queens University and check out the stunning architecture, specifically the limestone clock tower at Grant Hall.

This boutique hotel in Kingston has 80 guestrooms and 15 conference rooms and meeting spaces, making it a great choice for business travelers. Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kingston Central stays true to its name and is located ten minutes from downtown Kingston, with access to the 401 if driving on a road trip. You’re not far from Fort Henry either, a museum and historic site with guided tours that I recommend checking out.

There's also a complimentary breakfast buffet with plenty of hot and cold options. I suggest bringing your bathing suit and workout clothes to take advantage of the hotel’s fitness center, indoor pool and relaxing whirlpool.

You’ll find this family-owned and operated hotel situated on seven acres close to downtown Kingston. Green Acres Inn offers pretty guestrooms that are stylish and comfortable. All rooms include a kettle, toaster, microwave, and refrigerator, making it the perfect option for travelers wanting to eat some meals in.

The hotel’s signature spa suite includes a whirlpool tub and electric fireplace, ideal for a romantic getaway.
