When we arrived we were informed that there was no room for us. My relatives still had a suite, but no room for us. They said they had tried to call us that morning, like it was our fault. We were moved down the road to another hotel which was nice, but away from family. Very disappointing.
On the water room. Furnishings were worn. Paid for balcony but could not sit and see the water view as solid wall was too high! Waste of money. Would be better if on an upper floor.
I really enjoyed the location of my room. This time I had ground floor facing the parking lot. It doesn't sound like a winner, but I really enjoyed it. I was able to park RIGHT outside my door. This made it VERY easy for loading and unloading. No long hallways or stairs to climb this time. It was awesome. Also - Pretty good free breakfast. The room at first looks was decent. However, when you lay down you notice dust on the bed post and a floor that appears to vacuumed. There was a lot of slight dirtiness to the room. I even found the previous guest glasses and a bottle cap on the floor along with a couple spider webs and spiders. Since this is my only concern, I'd consider it a pretty good stay and I will be returning.
it was good for what it cost. close to everything in Mac city
After getting a not so clean room they did put us up in a lager room by the beach. The bathroom was not clean....at all. Nasty
Room was too crowded, door was difficult to close and open, frig control was broken, tv remote didn't work
Easy to find, right on the main street! We walked to everything!! Including the boat to Mackinac!, Restaurants, and shopping! Very clean and updated.
The proximity to downtown and the ferry was great. Was able to walk everywhere. The beds, the pool, the showers, the breakfast, the price per night.
It was right in the heart of everything. Walking distance within all the shopping and restaurants. I thought the breakfast they offered was very basic. Kinda disappointing. They had coffee, juice, english muffins, dry cereal, and something that was suppose to be biscuits and gravy. Not very good. I would suggest skipping it and hitting a local restaurant,
location, easy in and out, peaceful, very clean, staff is kind and pleasant I would definitely improve the breakfast!!!
Didn't have to drive anywhere, nice hotel very convenient. Clean and friendly staff
Neat & Clean
it was within walking to everything we wanted to do prices
The location was great. All of the staff we dealt with were very friendly and pleasant. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was a little limited in number of choices and quality. It was not bad, just not great.
Baymont inn was great from when you pull up till the time you leave. The staff was very friendly and hotel location was good within walking distance to all the shops and reasterants. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We definitely would stay at Baymont again.
It was super easy to get to, right off the highway. It's super close to everything. We had wished that the hotel staff would have let us know that there was a very large senior tour during our stay. Only because the morning ended up being so crammed full of people trying to get breakfast and people waiting for the bus to load all of their luggage. We could have rearrangedone our schedule to try and avoid the mess.
The person at the desk was over the top helpful with attractions and getting around town. Manager was hands on, and everyone paid attention to every detail. Place was excellent in every way as noted above.
The location was convenient for taking the ferry over to the island. Nice view off balcony. This hotel was somewhere I would expect to pay $50 a night. Outdated color schemes, dark and gloomy rooms. There was a bra inside of the fold out couch which tells me no one had changed the linens in it. The breakfast in the morning was not very appealing inside a room with no windows. The pool and spa area looked like a basement- the water was gross looking. Call me crazy, but for $250 a night, I expect a very nice hotel! I would not recommend staying here.
Each room has a lake view and a small balcony. Our room was the XL size which was quite spacious. One King bed in a smaller room at the end by the balcony, 2 Queen beds and a sofa bed were in the larger room by the entrance door. Between the rooms was the bathroom and a small sink, frig and microwave. Easy location with views of Lake Huron and Mackinac Island. Would be nice if there was a door to the room with the King bed for more privacy instead of just a doorway. The pool area, while in the same building, is a very long way away at the very far end of the building. This made using it less appealing.
The facilities were fantastic for the price. About time motels upgraded to lcd tv'S. We had an extra roll of tp (one guy with four girls). Very good maid service and service all around. Desk people were great - like they took pride in their workplace. Did not smell any smoke in the room. An ashtray with chairs were available for smokers in the parking lot away from the entrance. Private decks lake-side to relax after a long drive or just read a good novel (Please do not feed the seagulls) The pool area and other common areas were well kept but we didn't use them this trip. The continental morning feed was very good with plenty of food and seating. I really love this motel and plan to stay there next year.
Clean, spacious, great lakeside location and an outstanding value. Great free breakfast. Wish they would include some sausage or bacon.
Loved how spacious the room was! The view was beautiful...right on the water, with the Mighty Mac as the backdrop! Great location...plenty to do around the hotel, as well as on the Island. We will definitely come back!!
The in-room microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker were a useful addition to our hotel room.
The view from the room was the only good thing. The staff was incredibly rude. Couldn't connect to the wifi from my room and when I brought it up with the staff, they became defensive and arrogant. They didn't bother listening to my concerns. They also weren't helpful when I asked them about ferry times to Mackinaw Island. They rudely told me that they didn't know and that I should look it up myself. The breakfast was awful, not much to offer and had stale low-quality food. They also didn't have enough food for the guests. The rooms could have been cleaner. Found stains on the sheets and towels. Not all of the lights worked. Overall, a terrible experience and won't be staying here again.
A little bit away from the heart of the city but close enough to walk wherever you want to go. Love the location Reception at the front desk was a bit chilly. The woman checking us in seemed to be in a bad mood upon arrival and also the same woman upon check out two days later didn't seem to have improved
Not much. Pool is ok. Room old and out dated, beds sucked real bad!
Balcony did have a good view of the lake and the free breakfast was decent Overall condition was poor. Bathroom was not clean andhad hair in the sink and tub. Wallpaper was peeling off In several places and there was a chunk of plaster Missing from the ceiling. I would not stay here again.
People were very nice Rooms were not very clean
They had a room available. Staff was rude to children. Hotel room was expensive and quality of room was terrible. Room was filthy, carpet had stains and had bugs in room.
Good value for location. Accommodated friends that arrived with me at same price that I booked for room.
Location The hotel is more like a ran-down motel. The carpet is moist and dirty, the furniture and room needs renovation. Purchased room online and it did not meet my expectations as per online listing and photos. Not a good start to a family vacation for such a great unique town
Clean and adequate, Dumb bathroom design. My friend complained about the mattress. I thought the mattress was fine.
Location No heat in room , room smelt bad, beds were old sheets old we asked for a refund and left
I tried to save a little $$ on weekend rates. Price was lower than other motels. We slept in our sleeping bags because the beds looked so bad. They looked like they had been slept in and then just hastily tucked back in. Tub had a bath mat,and looked like it had never been really cleaned. Hair in sheets and towels. Yuk!
nothing too many to say

Price The room was very old with stained carpet, very thin towels, rusted non-working refrigerator. I think they put online bookings in the old section. The newer addition had only a few cars, so they weren't fully booked. I guess I got what I paid for.

Nothing. It was all that was available Sheets had brown stains imbedded in one of beds. Shower was 3ft wide
location to downtown carpet very dirty/stained, the bathroom is extremely small, and the ceiling tiles were filthy, waterstained and appeared to be filled with black mold... wasnt even close to a 1 star hotel..
The pool was glorious.....you have to walk outside to get there, but worth it....huge and warm...perfect after a brisk fall day! The hotel is older but very clean....staff kind and helpful....great hot breakfast with 'real' food! Beds were hard....need an update!!!
It was a nice room, nice size Jacuzzi in the junior suite, good value, friendly staff It's a little tricky to know how to get there due to the way the roads intersect
Walking distance to town The room was very small. Next to the pool entrance and loud as people came and went to the pool . We have a baby and this was noisy. Also, the window was right there by the pool door and people looked in our window every time. Annoying.
Very clean. Not directly in downtown but near the activities. The room was very small. No breakfast. Very tight parking area.
I'm giving them 10 stars based on the price, not because the rooms were 5,000 square feet and furnished in priceless antiques. FOR THE PRICE, is was a great motel; quiet, clean, with all the things we needed. The manager was friendly.
location. next to the Mackinac bridge and lighthouse. parking was very tight
Older hotel, but clean .. close to Mackinac Bridge viewing.
I liked the location. Yes the grounds were nice and cared for. The owners were very nice and family oriented. I love supporting small business instead of cooperate business. I really liked the seating provided on the grounds. No other hotel offered it. The room smelled like moth balls or old, old wood. It was overwhelming and unacceptable due to the price of the room and the area competition. The grounds were nice however the pool looked dirty, needs repainted or something.
Charm and pleasant staff. No.
We had a great time in the water park having to leave
the choice of four area hotels for breakfast the name of the motel was very confusing, as North Point was still on the signage. even after calling for directions, they did not indicate to us the name change.
The view of the bridge was amazing. The receptionist's are very rude. It took over 2 hours past the guaranteed time to check in to get into our room. The pool was disgusting, we only stayed in the pool for 5 minutes before we left. Overall, i would find another place to stay.
Beautiful lake-front hotel, friendly staff, great little water park. Breakfast was good (waffles were delicious). I loved hearing the waves from our room. Our room was RIGHT in front of the elevator and ice machine so it was a little noisy at times. Also, it would have been nice if the pool opened before noon. Other than that, everything was good.
The facilities were clean. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and free breakfast.
I loved that place
I liked how close the hotel was to the water and to the ferry's. I did not like the free breakfast that they provided and the cleaniness of my room. I had a blanket on my bed with poop on it.
Good value for the money. Convenient to activities of the area. Not really. The breakfast area is not adequate, but the food was good and well presented.
The location allows easy access to all the nearby sights. The staff was friendly and helpful. Most importantly the view is amazing and the kids really enjoyed the beach and the pool.
It was really close to the downtown. Also nice lakeview. The heating was broken and we couldn't adjust the tempurature. It was sooo hot.
Nothing Our door didn't always lock. If you pushed on the door hard enough it popped open, but the front desk people said it was fine and not broken. Carpet was so filthy that your feet were black after walking across it even after your shower. Tons of mold and mildew on shower tiles. Very outdated. Probably hasn't been remodeled since the seventies. And our room wasn't serviced each day. Had to go and get clean towels each day. This was our last stay at mackinaw because we are moving to Arizona. We thought we'd have one great last vacation here before we moved, but it was barely tolerable.
The lights that had plugs available did in fact work. The place was not a bad place to stay, but I am under the impression the scaffolding and associated repair materials are just props. The TVs were the only up to date items in the room outside of consumables like light bulbs and shower supplies. The rate was lower than most in mackinaw and tidy. The conditions of the general infrastructure was poor. All buildings had signs of roof damage parking lot was a 50/50 mix of puddles after the rain the night before. Overall this place is solid 2 star hotel. Don't think Holiday Inn think Route 66 from the sixties mixed with some Kwik-E-Mart for some added culture to your vacation.
breakfast, staff member, swimming pool, convenient location
Very updated. Clean loved it ! Showerhead
Our room was quiet and with easy access to the elevator; traveling with an infant--the portable crib provided by the hotel was very nice. We stayed two nights, but our beds were not straightened. We didn't expect a linen change.
Breakfast was terrible
The room was quite large. We were on the upper level! The pool was nice. The shower was absolutely the worst thing about this hotel! The water will drastically change with out warning.
The room was beautiful and very clean. The management were polite and courteous. We really enjoyed the breakfast. No

There were no surprises. No
The Staff was extremely friendly, polite and helpful. Provided great suggestions on restaurants and the ferry to island nothing negative to say
Great location--close to everything. Bed was not as nice as home but that's why we bought a premium bed ;)
The food was great. The room was clean and nice. There was no hot water. We ran the water a long time and only got tepid water. We told the attendant. We didn't take a shower. The problem was not fixed while we were there.
The location and being being able to walk from the car into the room. The temp in the room was great. The water and the linens. I did not like the WI FI either because it would not work on my computer.
Nice and close to everything The location. There was a lady of the evening 'hitching' a ride right when we checked in, and the clerk saw it all go down.
The room large and clean. Nicely decorated.
Everything was clean and everyone was friendly N/A
The room was very nice, fairly big with updated bathroom. Also, right across the street from the star line fairy. I got a "lake view" room. Ooo Ned the blinds, and had to bend my head around to catch a glimpse of the lake. The hotel isn't on the same side of the street even as the lake. Had to walk across the street to another hotel for the breakfast.
The location was convenient to all the attractions of Mackinac City The breakfast was disgusting, including overflowing garbage cans that were not addressed. The water park was also dirty and shared with another hotel so very crowded.
The kids water park was fun an worth it. Musty smell from room, hard beds, breakfast was a mess.
Nothing. I booked and paid for a room 2 months in advance. When I showed up, they were overbooked and they put me in a dirty hotel across the street. No refund in the price difference. No concessions. We had to cross a busy street with small children to get to the water park which was the only reason I booked this hotel. Big mistake. STAY AWAY!!!
Nice hotel for the price. My five year old loved the water park! Awsome is what he said. Vending machine near our room not working. Little disappointed in breakfast.
Gorgeous view - unexpected since we never seem to be able to get those kinds of room on our budget! Was advised checking was after 4:00 PM, but arrived around 3:00 just to do the paperwork and were able to the key and be in our room then. Kids (5 & 8) wished there wre some uses at the waterpark...but they still had a good time. Front desk person wasn't the most cheerful, but was not rude...just matter-of-fact.
Being on the water. This survey was not smartphone friendly.
It was clean, The price we paid and the room we got were totally not in the same ballpark, old, dated room, very small bathroom, door woudnt stay closed, very loud dehumidifier system, stuck down a small ally, had to go to a different motel for continental breakfast, will not stay there again!
This hotel is a great price for being on the beach. Beautiful view. Hotel pool was nice for the kids to take a break from the hustle & bustle of the town and island. Maintenance guy was very nice and able to resolve our issue (key broke in the lock). We were on the 3rd floor and there was no elevator. After a full day on the island we were surprised to have to climb more stairs with all of our luggage. Breakfast was ok if you wanted waffles or toast. Being gluten free, there were no options.
Terrific room, very attractive, clean, comfortable beds, nice air from the windows, loved the ceiling fan; professional, kind and helpful staff; low-stress mid-week stay with private time in the whirlpool (yay!); super location; kick-ass continental breakfast and staff; able to check my business on-line; thinking seriously about booking with you again! Thank you, Super 8 and staff. My mom and I had a great stay! Only one thing: We stayed for three days, two nights; and, in that time, saw a tissue on the floor next to a door on our floor that NEVER GOT PICKED UP! Come on, people. I noticed it. How could you NOT have noticed it ??
Balcony is nice and mostly private. Room was clean. Beds were okay. The room next to us had a baby who screamed all night, but that's not the fault of the hotel, just know that if you're a light sleeper and the people next to you are loud, you will hear everything. Breakfast is below average. The fruit looked old. Have a bagel or a waffle and go to Pancake Chef downtown. This place isn't bad, but like everything else in this area, way overpriced for what you get.
Close to highway and attractions Older motel, felt and smelled like it needed updating. Kind of beat up, the entryways were dirty with cobwebs and bugs around. Room was just ok and didn't feel clean. Just old and overpriced for sure. Ok for a quick overnight stay but couldn't wait to move on.
Furniture was stylish and rustic, perfect for the location. Continental breakfast was as expected, decent selection of quick eats. Staff had to be distracted away from magazine in order to check in (acted annoyed with our presence). Then as a second employee argued with first employee during our check-in we were completely ignored. Finally got room assignment and was placed directly next to open lobby area. Asked politely if they had a quieter room available and without looking up from the desk, we were told "we're full". We responded with "oh, you don't have any other rooms available?" And after an exaggerated sigh, told again "we're full". Very rude.
They upgraded our room to a mini suite. The grandkids loved staying in a motel
Saved $75 a night. Kingsize bed with a jacuzzi in the room! I was shocked for what I got with the money I paid.
