We loved it here and wish we would have stayed more than one night. It was one of the nicest and most comfortable B&B's that we stayed at during our entire trip to Ireland. It is about a 10 minute drive out of Kinsale, but the relaxing country atmosphere is well worth it.
Friendly, helpful proprietors. We asked to have breakfast a little later than their normal serving time, and they accomodated us. The mattress was a little hard and the wi-fi does not work in the rooms, only in the lounge area.
Very accomodating for us. After a long road trip we were well taken care of and every effort was made to make us comfortable.
Friendliness, comfort of the room, breakfast Sounds lazy of me but a decent TV and remote would have been nice
The room was fantastic and the staff were friendly and helpful. the view was nice
The owner was helpful and friendly. The setting beautiful. Breakfast was delicious. Our room was very cold. The comforter was also very heavy and did not really help us get warm.
Very nice hotel. Staff is very well trained and friendly. Breakfast is good, but warm breakfast has to be ordered. Hotel is in a remote area, but there is a shuttle service into town for 6€/P. return. Toilet brush is missing. So you have to wait till someone is cleaning it up for you.
The staff were very helpful, and we had a very relaxing time.
the view frm my room the breakfast room was poorly run, the tableclths were dirty, there wasn't enough staff & the teble was nly half set
The staff were very pleasent and the manager was very thorough and good at his job. A bit far from Kinsale for shopping etc.
The town if kinsale and the lovely people
The views The spa wasn't quiet at all. There were too many children who screamed all the time. By making it accessible to local families, the quietness went. It really put me off to stay there longer than a few minutes.
Nice setting Room was not ready when we arrived at 4:30pm Service in the bar was very poor
problems with internet access, none availability of top brand of whiskey for 3 days, availability of telephone directory/ yellow pages
The service, cleanliness of the room and the peaceful surroundings . I thought the menu for Dinner was not very exciting.
Beautiful setting. Very comfortableand spacious room. Location to kinsale.
clean room comfortable bed. nice bathroom. polite front desk staff. nice views a bit remote. shuttle ride into town should be at no charge.
Beautiful hotel very clean comfortable excelllent sized room all facilities needed maybe breakfast could be included with the price
The location opposite the waterway was picturesque We thought it was overpriced compared to similar accommodation
Reception staff, hot tub, location Bar staff were rude & extremely inefficient. Poor selection and quality of bar food. Breakfast is not included - v poor value for money.
The staff and the atmosphere of the Hotel, together with the leisure facilities I paid extra for a harbour view room, but the bathroom only had a shower and the bedroom and bathroom could both do to be refurbished (Room 322)
Food was excellant - best meal we had in Kinsale
Breakfast excellent.. Hotel was cold and lacking in any atmosphere due to this. A nice fire lighting would have helped
Excellent - For the price paid in these recessionary times.
Excellently located with helpful and pleasant staff.
The location of the hotel which was close to both the harbour and to the town. The decor was in some parts very tired - paint peeling off walls for example.
Warm room, comfortable, good service, excellent breakfast, very good value. Bar area a little cold; bathroom needing re-furb.
Bedrooms fantastic views, bar ideal, breakfasts fresh and excellent, location perfect. Nothing.
The location and the parking for the car. It was a nice place to stay after a day of driving and sight seeing. We enjoyed drinks on the balcony over looking the bay at sun set and the great food.
Loved the view across the harbour and the nice walk into the town.
There is not much entertainment at night so you would have to go up town
the staff, the location, the meals, all excellent, we couldn't fault this hotel, our room looked right over the marina and the beautiful riverside. not long enough
my daughter and i had a very relaxing three day stay hotel very comfortable and clean and the food great
Friendliness of staff, local knowledge
The panoramic window with a view over looking the harbour, the atmosphere in the Wharf Tavern and the general friendliness of all the staff. I would definately recommend the hotel and will stay again soon
i thought that the price for the suite was a little bit too much and expected a bit more than just a bedroom for the money
It was within walking distance of city centre The hotel car park was small and did not have room for all guests staying at the hotel
It was central to all local amenties I thought the breakfast was bad value for money nd to expensive for what was served -
I was not happy to discover that they do not have a car park for guests to park their cars. There is a carpark nextdoor but if you wished to park your car there for the night, there would be a charge of thirty euro which I thought was outrageous.
Location Stopped serving breakfast at 10.00 am
The location was excellent in the centre of Cork with easy access to the City centre on foot. We would have appreciated air conditioning as opening the window resulted in traffic noise.
Location Freezing room...radiators on timer no control of the heat
Good central location in cork with easy access to shops restaurants pubs etc but apart from location a little below average for the price. All and all mediocre at best. No Parking which was a complete nightmare, the hotel does have parking but it is first come first served so when we arrived on friday evening there was none available and no on street available eiter. This meant we ended up paying €20 for parking which I wish we had have put towards a nicer hotel room.
Great location - near the centre, railway station and bus station. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice feel to the hotel. Nothing.
Central location Receptionist did not know where Queenstown was (I know it's now Cobh, but it is less than 10 miles away & there is a well publicised Heritage Centre there. More education on tourist info needed
lovely breakfast and view, friendly staff
Staying at the Perryville House was certainly one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. We felt so at home and the accomodations were beautiful. We loved spending time with the owner and hope he will visit and stay at our home in Jacksonville Florida if he gets a chance when visiting the states. We would highly reccomend staying at the Perryville house. It is a must on any trip to Ireland No
Spacious rooms, comfortable beds. Good hanging space. Lots of fast hot bathwater. Very good ambiance. Liked the country house decor.Quiet. Lousy shower!
Straff were helpful and engagd with the guests, when sought. I thought that at €110 per night it was over priced for essentially a B&B operation, that describes itself as an hotel though it does not have any bar facilities.
Good location, friendly staff, nice breakfast, helpful NO
We loved our stay. The old fashioned charm was nice. The common sitting area was beautiful overlooking the water. The breakfast was a wonderful surprise. It was a gourmet breakfast. The food was excellent and made to order.
We were very impressed with the location of Perryville House, and with the warm, friendly greeting we received upon our arrival. Actually tried to change our plans to extend our stay at the Perryville House we enjoyed it so much!
Our room was fabulous Nothing
Location, Kinsale harbour on your door step. Comfortable, clean, safe and friendly. Easily one of the top 5 breakfasts I have ever eaten, just that little bit different with emphasis on locally produced produce and home baking to die for. No complaints at all
The homey touches and friendliest. I will always remember walking into the lobby to the view of the firplace lit and the smell of peat logs burning. I wanted to sit and stay on those couches for hours. Breakfast was wonderful and leisurely with the most solicitous service. Actually no as was the best hotel with charm, warmth and comfort. I would deefinitely stay here again or detour to be able to stay.
The hotel itself was luxurious and classy. wine 8e per glass 3e per can of coke in the room, menu quite expensive but it was a 5star hotel so i suppose it was always going to be expensive.
Nice, comfortable and warm hotel interior and very comfortable room. Food good but overpriced. Good spa facilities although found the pool and spa water a little cold and for that reason probably will not return for the spa facilities. Booked a very reasonable 2 night stay with booking.com but very disappointed to hear that guests who had spotted a local newspaper advertisement were staying for a night with dinner and breakfast for approx. a third of the price of what we were paying for our room plus dinner. Raised our disappointment with reception staff on departure but even though I called the hotel directly looking for their best rate/offer for our stay I was advised that it was merely unfortunate but that if we didn't read the newspaper advert...
This is a first class hotel with extremely curteous staff, wonderful location and quality of accommodation. Would definitley recommend this to anyone!! The only down point to the stay was the bed. While the bedding itself was extremely comfortable, it was two (large) single beds pushed together. Due to the carpet protectors on the legs, the bed shifted slightly during the night and if not careful you could fall down between the 2 beds..
beautiful hotel and friendly staff breakfast not great
Excellent hotel. Service was fantastic. staff were very polite and always helpful. I will definately return
We really enjoyed the spa facilities and the warm, relaxed & friendly atmosphere around the hotel. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet time away from the hustle & bustle of the city. The hotel restaurant was disappointing. The meal took far too long to be served & the restaurant was quite cold.
access to cork heating in room does not work and can not be fixed
Relaxing and enjoying the surroundings Disapppointed with restuarant food.
No courtesy bus into city.
Peace n quiet pool spa etc nice room Lack of kettle n room
modern amenities. great proximity to Cork City centre and shops, dining, etc. No fault of the hotel, but the construction out front is a bit of a pain.
Great Location! Very nice hotel. Restaurant was very good too. Staff (all but one!) were friendly and helpful. The heat! We were on the top floor and the heat in the hall/room was very uncomfortable.
The staff were very pleasant and the rooms were very clean and well maintained
Convenience to centre of town and also the cleanliness of the hotel Not able to open windows so the rooms were a little stuffy. Only way to cool room was to put on air conditioning. If we were to stay there again we would insist on a room facing outward. The price per night was quite expensive as breakfast was not included. To take breakfast in the hotel would make it just a little too dear per night. We were able to get a really nice breakfast just a short walk into town at less than half the price.
Access to the gym and parking were both very convenient. Excellent location and friendly staff. The beds could have been a bit firmer.
Everything, by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in, from the building itself to the staff. Excellent. The management of the Clarion should be proud of the customer experience it's staff provides. I look forward to my next stay in the Clarion.
The service and staff was extremely good also had food in Kudos which we really enjoyed, The room we stayed in had no heat and it was a very cold night and when we contacted staff member they got us to move which was all done very quickly but it was very inconvenient at 10 pm ish.
Very nice service employees, even the cleaing personal was nice and intelligent. Keep on with this! Perhaps you should make it possible to isolate the doors a little bit more, not totally (Room 241). Every talking on the aisle can be heard. This has nothing to do with the particular case of the strange guitar player and choir at 3 to 6 a.m. in the next room, which was apologized and rewarded.
A very pleasant, comfortable and quiet hotel.
Central and staff courtesy
Breakfast was way to expensive 18 euro plus 5 euro room service is way to expensive!!!
The staff were excellent & very helpfull. Also you can park your car at the hotel & walk or use the hotel coach to &from Airport excelent.
Eat and slept
Location to airport with shuttle service Location of loo not good Narrow passage to get to shower if you use loo
the pick up service from the airport was quick the menu was not great, a lot more work needed on that before I eat there again
The Radisson BLU, Cork is just right beside the airport. We got an early morning flight and was offered a free shuttle bus but we just went for the short walk with our hand-luggage. Also offered coffee and scones in the hotel foyer as it was too-early for breakfast. Absolutely perfect if you are flying from Cork airport or on business. Our room was very spacious with good furniture. Will definitely stay again when next in Cork city.
The staff were friendly and helpful. 4 star in price only. An office with a bed rather than a bedroom with a desk.
Location was perfect. Staff was very friendly (for the most part) No
2 minute walk or drive to Airport No complaints
The location at the airport was excellent. Very convenient for travellers. No.
Th hotel was easily accessible either travelling by car or plane. The rooms were spacious and staff friendly and helpful.
Very close to the airport - you can walk in fact across the road to reach it; breakfast was great and with a variety to choose from. Our room was spacious and clean. It was perfect for a short one night stay.
Everything was very pleasant and comfortable what you expect from a 5 star hotel, highly recommended. Some of the reception staff were a bit too regimental ,could have been little more friendly.
The Food was tasteless.
The room was great, really comfortable and modern The staff at the front desk were abrupt and not very welcoming. Need Training!!!!!
Great room and bathroom; Awesome breakfast
The luxury and attention to detail and genuinely friendly/helpful staff. Low numbers of Irish staff.
Friendly attentive staff, upgraded room on check-in, which was very comfortable, especially bed Only a minor negative but there was no shower gel in bathroom, had to go & find some from maid
Staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room was very clean and tidy, the hotel is easy to access and is well located in the city.
The Kingsley was a great place to settle down In Cork. The staff were professional and took pride in their work. The rooms were nice and clean. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. I didn't mind this actually but the Kingsley is about a 15-20 minute walk to the city center. You could take a cab or walk it. The reason i didn't mind was because it was far enough away that you weren't surrounded by the noise.
had a truely excellent time over a weekend and would highly recommend it to anyone. the staff were friendly and helpful. the rooms were spacious and well equipped and the breakfast were a real treat.
Good choice of restaurant in a relaxing setting. The staff were welcoming but not in your face.
Hotel facilites were excellent. Superb breakfast and dinner in the evening. Great views of the River Lee and Weir.
Good hotel facilities, standard of room, Hotel easy to find, Found it easy to get to main routes to tour the area. No
We liked the location. Situated on a hill overlooking the city and just a nice distance for a brisk walk downhill into the city only about 15 minutes. However, returning is all up hill so on some occasions we had to opt for taxis which were all very reasonably priced. The hotel was spotless and very comfortable and the staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Good selection of food and reasonably priced. Gym facilites were excellent - all new varied machines as recently installed and brand new pool, jacuzzi , steam room and sauna. We used all these facilities 2 days running.
I asked for the radio in my room to be fixed and it was fixed by the time I got back that evening which was great. The best facility was the swimming pool - really lovely pool. The lift! doors slow to close. If stairs were available and signposted I'd prefer to use them.
Reception staff were lovely. Breakfast food was very nice No spare pillows available in room. No Tea Making facility in room. Staff at breakfast were very un welcoming
A very nice hotel, will book again. No coffee making facilities in room.
The staff were very friendly, the location is great - a thoroughly enjoyable visit,to be repeated.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff were helpful and friendly. It was a very private setting and we enjoyed the fact that we could come and go without any disturbance. Just a minor detail cups and cutlery were not changed every day
quiet hotel, non invasive staff, good parking, good leisure club
It was a nice stroll from the hotel to the city. I seems now in Ire most 4* Hotels are cutting back and all the guest is left with is functionality, however not even this could be delivered here. A teenage party in one a function room was let continue late into the night, out into the hallways, complete with boy racer stunts in the car park, no sleep. Also typical of these hotels, the traditional Irish breakfast is ruined by these large self-service covered trays with rashers, scrambled? eggs etc, cooked god knows when and dumped into these trays, with the self-digging pleasure left to the "guest". There was a complete lack of any visible manager at all, perhaps they only look in via the web to see occupancy. I noted a little Best Western logo in the bedR, checked not on website, uncool!
The staff were friendly and the place was clean. I had a chicken wrap at the bar which was very disappointing. Instead of a wrap I got what looked like a chicken stew in soy sauce that was quite spicy and not at all what you expect from the menu. Also scrambled egg in the morning had far too much salt in it! The hotel is being renovated and it was a long treck to my room and confusing when the lift didn't work. I thought I left something in my room and rang the hotel. Housekeeping were to call me back but I still haven't heard from them. I since found what I was looking for!
- very friendly staff - humongous pool - hot tub - largest hotel gym I've seen - very clean - English tv :-) - prompt room service - great price - walking distance to cork in very safe community - dinner service was poor. Took a lengthy amount of time to get the bill by asking another waiter - would be nice for reserved parking for hotel guests vs event guests
We had a lovely room on the 5th floor small but very elegant comfortable clean and generally all around very nice however visited a friends room who was also staying at hotel in old wing it was very disappointing and in no comparison to our room would def recommend booking the new wing The reception staff very ignorant and treated us with no respect despite being paying customers
Efficient service Fire alarm went off at 2.30am - followed by irritating repeditive sound for the rest of the night. Room too bright from external lighting.
the friendliness of all the staff was particularly obvious even down to the housekeeping staff we met in the corridors. we were also impressed with the quality of finish in the bedrooms. we would stay there again
excellent gym facilities air con wasnt the best
The leisure centre. The room.It was very old and basic. the chairs were broken, the mattress needed to be changed, the basin´s water was yellw and the shower seemed not to be used in a long time
The ease and confort of it all.
we had children with us an we were all made rally welcome and the facilities available were explained. nothing
convienience no hot water in bath. the newly refurbished rooms are like a drug dealers gaff
I think the staff were great, and the en-suite and reception areas were fabulous. Being so close to the city was great, and there was facilities in the nearby village of Douglas i.e. Fuel station, pub, and McDonalds I stayed in the hotel previously, and the room was complete luxury, but we had a room on the forth floor that was no comparison, and as we were smokers, it was extremely annoying to have to pace up and down the three flights of stairs to have a cigarette
We have stayed at this hotel before so we knew what to expect. The Leisure centre is lovely, twin rooms are nice, bathrooms clean with lovely fluffy towels. We were disappointed when arrived because we were allocated a double room, which was really awful (432), but on contacting reception we were given a nice twin room which was what we booked.
Loved the location and view. I enjoyed the seating on each floor. Gave us a chance to sit and visit while enjoying the gorgeous view of the river. Would love a quick cafe for coffee in the morning when we didn't want a full breakfast.
i thought that it was not very fair that we could not use the leisure centre after 12 md on our deoarture date even ehen we were very willing to pay.
The comfort of the room, the best of facilities. Really enjoyed my overnight stay.
Free internet access, good car park, good location
The location is excellent. It is warm and comfortable. Spotlessly clean I left some items behind and when I phoned the hotel I was told they were not found. Disappointed about that
facilities in the hotel found the breakfast expensive especially as it was cold. Alot of money if you didn't want to eat much
Rooms warm ,comfortable ,breakfast excellent. Having to use card key in elevator ,card key not working when trying to get into room. However Staff were prompt and excellent when we were designated another room.
Spa treatment was super; back and Indian head massage. The relaxation room after my massage is not really designed for relaxation. It's an open room looking onto the corridor where treatment rooms are located, I stayed but 5 minutes.
the pool and gym The fact that the pool did not open until 9am and that there was a mix up with my rate that caused some embarassment at breakfast. when I booked online I included breakfast however the hotel had no record of this when I went for breakfast on the sat. I was also overcharged when the online booking co took payment from my visa card in advance
The pool and closeness to city centre Music in hotel bar was too loud to sit in. 3 out of 5 ladies toilets had no toilet paper at 10pm, response from staff on reception was rude
Great facilities ie, fitness center, swimming pool. On arrival we were also upgraded to the deluxe suite with access to executive lounge which was a lovely suprise! Room was really comfortable and quiet also. Good location. Some of the hotel staff (in particular the at the reception & bar) were unfriendly and not very bothered. One receptionist for example seemed put out by me using another family members credit card for booking an extra night (even though I had already booked used it for 2 previous nights and it states that this is fine to do on the website)..."do you not have your own card?" one female receptionist cheekily asked after I explained it was my sisters card. Quite obviously I didn't!! She further questioned me about this in an accusatory manner. It came across as very rude and unprofessional. This is a very small thing but some hair conditioner would have been lovely in bathroom too! Hotel food was over-priced for what you got also...
The staff in the hotel were very helpful and pleasant. The room that we stayed in was a very good size with lots of room. The shower could have been a little bit bigger.
Staff were helpful and accomodating specially Olivia. Brilliant location in centre. Live music in bar - atmospheric.
The rate we paid compared to what we got was not value for money.A 4* hotel in the same area was cheaper and also had leisure facilities.A welcoming smile and a Please and Thank you when dealing with customers would make a big difference.
Wonderful location right in town. Plenty of free parking near by. Very nice breakfast.
The White House was a comfortable and welcoming hotel. The food was very nice and the atmosphere was excellent. Or room was above the main road. The noise was awfull in the nights and there were road works in the day. It woldn't have been too bad if there was a fan in the room and we could have kept the window closed.
The rooms had been recently decorated in a very pleasant way. The bar was very good, local live music in the evening, and very friendly bar man. Excellent position in the centre of town. Breakfast very good, good service throughout. No designated parking, noisy in the early morning, due to position in centre of town - dustbin lorry, deliveries etc.
Good bar, good breakfast. comfortable clean bedrooms . Was disapointed rooms where in a seperate building from hotel.Had to get to them through a different entrance which woz down the street called the Lodge!!
Location Yo expensive for off-season
It was very close to the main town, easy access to everything and parking behind the building. The room was comfortable and the bar and restaurant were great. It was very noisy in the room from the live entertainment and people hanging around outside. I also had some noisy people in the room above me who seemed to be moving furniture and walking heavily.
Staff very helpful and friendly.Breakfast 4*Great location for the city.Would highly recommend it for its value for money.
The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was first class The bed was very clean but not very comfortable
Very tastefully furnished. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast fist class. Value for money. Would stay again and recommend to friends. none
The staff was very helpful when my son got sick, the facilities were comfortable, and the breakfast room nice, with very nice selection of breakfast foods; a classy B&B. Since the heat is on a timer and turned off from 8:00am to 5:00pm, it got very cold for e few critical hours there, while my son was sick. Also I went up and down many flights stairs many times just to get the simplest things. We chose a place at our next stop (in Galway) with a more complete range of lodging services, like 24-hr room service and on-site restaurant and bar. Still, as B&B's go, very nicely done.
Pleasant staff The Gabriel House is not a hotel but a Bed & Breakfast so I felt it was false advertising.
Comfortable and clean rooms in a good location. Onsite parking.
The Staff of the hotel were very friendly which is what made this stay pleasant Firstly it is not a hotel it is a B&B. There is no hotel facilities, no bar, no lounge area etc. The rooms were tight with little space. I was travelling with my mother and our room was up four flights of stairs which is not convenient for an older lady. Also nobody offered to assist with our luggage. There is alot of renovations underway also which make the hotel grotty.
Friendly people and comfort. Excellent breakfast.
Staff were extremely friendly&helpful, very nice&clean in an excellent location. Would stay again, superb value for money Very steep carpark
comfort, location, cheap, parking, ensuite... ah, it said free wi-fi, but i didnt have a password wen i tried to connect....perhaps ye should write it in the rooms, coz it was too late to askin at d reception..
The pool was nice and the hotel bar was fun. Location was perfect for walking to local attractions and restaurants.
The staff was pleasant Limited hot water in shower. It was awful. Pillow cases were old and woke up with fluff stuck in our heads. Cold room. Door was broken. Television never worked. Will never stay there again for more than one night!!!
the staff were exeptional - very helpful and friendly
all the saff were very friendly car parking very poor
The swimming pool and design of the room
I liked the carpets and the cotton sheets and the breakfast black pudding. The person on the desk was helpful finding times of buses. The heating or plumbing system was very noisy, and there was very little sound insulation generally; people coming in late and closing the doors of their rooms would have woken me up had I not been kept awake by the strange sounds from the heating.
clean hotel, polite and friendly staff the room was to hot, window didn't open much!
large comfy beds, quiet peaceful rooms, staff very helpful with parking lack of a mini bar, parking was limited
in need of a update a bit scruffy
A convenient City center location, very good choice of cooked hot breakfast, helpful staff with good local knowledge of the city. Very limited parking at hotel.
the leisure centre. there was no proper parking. you had to park on the street and had to pay by the hour.
