i feel because we booked on line the room we were given was the worst available.first and second rooms were end of hallways and one was handicapped. then then next room had a bad odor we were told it had been thoroughly cleaned and the odor must be from that.t appears when we book on line we are given rooms that are the worst available We have.stayed a about 20 locations in the past year and windup with problem rooms booked on line many times.We were told on two occasions that priority rooms go to direct booking customers.When we book direct we seldom have a issue.I know are experience is a small sample,but there seems to be a trend .
Very clean hotel, seems to be newer. Large king room, great staff, good location to Merriweather Post Pavilion, 10 -12 min drive. So nice to have kitchen & fridge in room as you are better off cooking yourself than eat in Columbia, MD. Best extended stay hotel in the area. Only flaw of the room is that the kitchen could use a few more pots / dishes / utensils. We used it a lot as the dining options in Columbia MD are just depressing. The town of Columbia MD is a giant strip mall / shopping center / business park. Unless you are going for an event at Merriweather Post, there is no reason to stop in this city
Clean room. We had previously visited this facility and were impressed enough to return less than a month later. We make frequent trips to DC so was looking for a place to stay on a regular basis. Pet Friendly turned out to be a $75 fee for a one night stay. I have stayed at facilities and paid $15 but not $75! We have a small scnoodle that doesn't shed. I can't imagine what the $75 cleaning fee was used for. I would have preferred to have the fee disclosed on our reservation. I could have had a pet sitter come to my house for less money. Another problem was the heat - the room took 4 hours to warm up. The staff said this was normal and if it lasted all night they would compensate us. They said there were no alternative rooms available which I didn't believe based upon size of hotel and cars in parking lot. I think they just didn't want to accommodate people with a pet. Definitely not pet friendly.
Sonesta was beyond clean, the rooms were comfortable the staff were nice The complimentary breakfast was great. I just can't find any fault in it. I had the best stay in the hotel. The moment I stepped into the hotel I was like " I am going online to rate this hotel a 5 star after my stay" I didn't have a change of mind all through my stay. Nothing

this hotel was perfect! Me and boyfriend stayed here for a night for the Sweetlife Festival! It was our first time in Maryland. The staff was very friendly and very helpful, especially when we asked for directions to get somewhere; instead of just telling us where the location was they actually printed out directions for us. The rooms for very clean and very spacious almost like a mini one room apartment. The kitchen was a decent size they give you plates, cups forks..ect..to use. also nice seating area for when you want to just relax without laying in bed. Also it was nice that they had a shampoo and conditioner and body wash despensor right in the shower so if you forgot something it was right there for you!Also this hotel was located close enough to the city part of columbia but far enough to not be in the hossel of it all. also free breakfast! also the price was desent for what your getting! and check out wasnt until 12 which was lovely so we didnt feel rushed in the morning to get out of there! I would defiantly stay at this hotel whenever we go back to maryland. the breakfast wasnt the best. but you could always make your own if you felt like it in your own personal kitchen!
Friendliness of the staff and cleanliness and Decour we were visiting your establishment from New York to attend a family funeral. The post reception was also held within your establishment. we were surprised by the elevated prices of the liquor in your restaurant..... we ordered 15 cordials...we were shocked at the $166 price tag that accompanied that order ...

location was great I had booked a king size bed, and was stuck with a queen size. The TV did not work. I asked to have both addressed and neither were. The hotel was full so there were supposedly no kings available? No apparent effort to address the TV issue.
The location was prime for my reason in being in Columbia. Very central to my family Let's see... I requested early check in and was given a room missing furniture (no chair, no refrigerator, no microwave, no bathroom toiletries), looked like leftovers. I asked for a new room. Housekeeping walked in on me nursing my 5 month old baby TWICE after a quick knock, once in the original room and once in the newly requested room (your front desk attempted to justify that somehow) . I requested a crib for my baby... 3seperate ppl came knocking on my door to see if I'd gotten it yet (I had), interrupting my nursing AGAIN AND AGAIN, the communication at the hotel was terrible. My husband was furious to hear of the numerous violations. Every day I was there, including the day I checked out, housekeeping made so much noise in the hallway! I had family come by to visit the new baby and they all commented on the volume of housekeeping in the halls and the confusion of getting to my room. You could hear their conversations through the door along with their laughter and banter. I'm never one to complain about a hotel stay but this trip was one for the books. I'm originally from the area, my husband and I just relocated a few states away to be closer to family and I'll be needing hotel accommodations regularly. I'm so disappointed with The Sheraton, I've always had a high regard or the chain but I'll be looking elsewhere, it's a shame because my family is within a 10 min drive. I should be refunded for the time I had with your establishment

I like the fact that the hotel looked clean and new When we checked in the hostess at the front desk did not tell us where our room was located. After we found our room I tried to take a shower but the shower was broken. It took the maintenance tech 3 attempts before he finally fixed the shower. Lastly the wifi and Internet was terrible and the only website we could visit was Facebook.
The pool was advertised as heated, however, it was very cold. Further, the pool area was poorly maintained in that the chairs were all askew and used towels were strewn about. I realize guests left the area in this manner however, the management should keep a more watchful eye and make adjustments as needed regarding staffing assignments and tasks, to ensure the facilities stay tidy and appealing.

Thank you Kayak!! Having previously lived in the Columbia MD area, i was shocked that I had never seen or heard of this place before. It was delightful- start to finish. Charming atmosphere. Friendly staff. Relaxing. Picturesque. I travel up to this area a lot. This is now #1 on my list of places to stay. Only down side was steep flight of stairs to climb (with suitcases) at check in and check out. Also entrance to property (from a busy road) is narrow and hidden (why I never noticed the place before). there is only a single car lane for entering/leaving the Inn. Seems the perfect set up for an accident.
The Hampton Inn Columbia was exactly what we needed for a whirlwind visit to see friends and tour Washington, DC. The beds were very comfortable, the towels were big, and the breakfast was excellent. Everything was clean and comfortable and we had a very nice stay.

The price of our room was very competitive and it included a yummy breakfast! Super comfy bed and the room was clean with modern decor. We were pleasantly surprised! There was not an early check-in option which was challenging because of my conference schedule - that was disappointing.

I like the "homey" feel. We always book a one-bedroom king, which has a kitchen with full fridge, stove top and micro. Both living room and bedroom have TV's. Feels like home as much as it can.

I always feel comfortable at Aloft locations. All service staff including housekeeping were very friendly and responsive to a "Hello". In general the hotel and room seemed very clean and smelled fine. The bed was very comfortable and the linens bath etc were all in good order But due to some abuse by guests the room was looking a little worn. ie:Scratches in wall finish & headboard.

The staff was amazing, Tamera, Jamal, Gladys, Cliff and last but certainly not least Niya! They were so amazing I'd take a trip from Phoenix to Baltimore JUST to see them. They truly are the definition of hospitality My only concern was it took almost 2wks to receive my incidentals deposit back. But that's attributed to processing times through financial institutions.

Facility is quite old $ tired. Various things were missing or didn't work. Location is isolated, not close to many restaurants or shops. Staff did all they could to make up for facility shortcomings.
Nothing This establishment over the duration of four days charged my credit card four times after I had prepaid for the room, not including an incidental charge, totaling $360.00. The staff was not able to explain the charges, and could not get a manager on the phone to speak with me. According to the staff, every time I asked to speak with a manager, there wasn't a manager on duty. The staff would call the manager in my company and be directed to a voice mail, and leave a message. They do have a pool, but the hours of operation are slim. The pool is not open until 4pm when a lifeguard is on duty. That brings me to another issue, I caught the lifeguard smoking marijuana just outside the back door to the hotel (which is right by the pool). I'm not normally against people smoking marijuana, however, I do have an issue with it when peoples lives could be in jeopardy. Because of this experience, I will never stay at another W hotel.
Check in was easy, no hassle. The room was nice, what you would expect for the price. The bartender was rude. No knowledgeable in the basics of bartending. No continental breakfast. Had to pay $3 for a basic razor
Decor & layout was unique along with a great snack area, billiards table & social areas in lobby area,. Friendly staff. Though clean lots of scuff marks on walls, stains around shower door hinges , and similar"long term" maintenance things is starting to give a run down appearance to an otherwise unique and fun place to stay.

Great room, good wifi The reservation through kayak was messed up. Took a couple hours for hotel manager to get it squared away and check us in. This was very frustrating after a long day of travel. Will really question using this reservation approach in the future.

The bed was super comfortable! Loved the indoor pool + hot tub! When I booked the hotel it stated, high speed WiFi and complimentary breakfast. NOPE!!!!! You have to pay $12.49 for the WiFi and we thought the breakfast was COMPLIMENTARY but half was through eating and nice lady put a $39 bill on our table. I asked the reception "that I thought the breakfast was complimentary" they told me that only when you upgrade your room when booking it's free. Well don't be fooled because I was. My conformation says complimentary breakfast, but they told me my room did not come with it! The only reason I booked this hotel was it had great reviews and the WiFi and free breakfast. Let's just say lesson learned and I won't be returning!! If WiFi and free breakfast is a want like it was for me, this hotel is not for you!
Very cleanrooms, nice pool and gym facilities. Bartender using hands in condiments after blowing nose and eating a sandwich. Server in restaurant used hand too. Very gross! Pool area large indoor, nice area.

I loved the bartender at the hotel bar who closed both Friday and Saturday night. She was very guest oriented. There was also a maintenance man who was very helpful on Sunday morning. The staff was great!!! There were kids running around the hotel All hours...they were loud and tracking water all over the lobby since they were running from the pool and then into the lobby and then back to the pool. Develop a system to let guests know if large groups of kids are staying at the hotel.
The staff was great. Very friendly and polite. Very good food in the restaurant. The availability of the shuttle to take people to and from the airport or to the metro stop was a big plus.

Breakfast was amazing and our $15 (1pp) coupons covered breakfast. The inside resturant was really clean and i loved the fire place. The wings i ordered in room service were good but i have to order them crispy so they weren't super soft and their potatoe wedges are huge and were not what I was use too at all. On the executive floor they have a snack room for anyone on floor 7. The snacks were great: muffins chips candy sodas tea coffee hot cocoa water pretzels etc. the room was 255 for just one night on that level....the room was clean but small, the hotel is eco friendly. There are a few other restaurants within 5min of the hotel if you don't like the indoor or attached one. The room rate is over priced thats my only complaint. The hotel is over priced, and the walk from the garage to the hotel can be a bit much if you have alot of bags.
The location of the hotel with the courtesey shuttle with a five mile radius is excellent. The location is less than a mile from Arundel Mills shopping, Maryland Live Casino and less than five miles to BWI airport. The hotel check-out time is 11am, which isn't a problem, however they expect you out around 1030am. My wife and I were awake waiting for a weather report and knocks on the door from housekeeping began the barrage of knocks at the door, phone calls, asking when we're checking out. Respecting hotel policy wasn't an issue, but most hotels start the call thirty minutes after check-out not before. If we dined in the hotel for breakfast the outcome would've been the same because the restaurant is small and the staff is small for the amount of guest. They provided a breakfast coupon for the restaurant, but decided to pass because of the wait, so the staff was rude with the two following housekeeping members and the front desk attendant calling after that.

The hotel was way beyond my expectations. It was the perfect place for our wedding anniversary. The customer service was great as well. The room was gorgeous with a contemporary look. Great location-close to the mall and every restaurant you could think of, but in a quieter location further down the road. Could be a bit noisy in the morning. Walls are thin and you could hear what was going on in other rooms/hallway.
Clean, close to airport. Staff was friendly, helpful. Wi-Fi was almost non-existent and our reservation was not in the hotel's system upon arrival, causing us to have to wait an additional 15-30 minutes. I'm not sure whether this was an issue with hotel's booking system or not.

I liked that my check in went very smoothly and the room was pretty decent. We go no warning that maintenance was being down on the streets and we were going to be out of water and there was absolutely no parking. We had to park next door at the Hilton. When we called the front desk the lady told me I could park on the grass or something but there was no guarantee that my car wouldn't be towed because she didn't work for the Hilton.
Scott at front desk was very professional and helpful. I was looking for a place near the airport for one night and with shuttle service to and from airport and not too expensive. The shuttle service also drove me to dinner and picked me up after.
The room was clean and nice overall. Loved how they accepted our pets. Sheets had a few stains and needed to be changed. TV service was out for the first few hours we were there. No breakfast
Clientele....there was an aggressive panhandler roaming the grounds. Whether they were or not, some guests seemed to be living there semi-permanently. Although the rooms have been redone, the motel seems dated. The clock was difficult to figure out as to how to set it. There seemed to be people roaming around all evening.

Comfortable, clean hotel with professional and helpful staff. Room keys got demagnetized twice during our two-night stay, bit of an inconvenience when carrying luggage and whatnot upstairs, then having to go back down. Staff were helpful and apologetic in fixing the problem.

Checking Out!!! Room not ready, Rude staff, didn't feel welcome, Polystyrene cups in rooms. Breakfasr area looked like a tornado had passed through. Foods not labelled. Staffs outfits needed an iron.
The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Pool did not open until 3:00pm. (Traveling with kids and main reason for choosing hotel was pool.) Cafe with coffee bar was closed. Very limited convenience items available for purchase. No gift shop. Room had very bright flashing green light all night.
Very nice hotel and the front desk agent was very nice. The shuttle driver on the 7:30am shuttle was great very friendly. They need to cut the trees around the sign on the street. It was a little hard to see.

The hotel was convenient to the activities I partook in. This was not a 3.5 star hotel. The bathroom was not up to par. The shower had cracks in the tile and had mildew spots in the bottom corners

The restaurant/bar The sheets were very scratchy. The bed was not soft. Not what I have come to expect from Sheratons. Did not get a good nights sleep because of it. This is important to me. I would probably choose another location next time I'm in the area.

The breakfast was wonderful. The staff was friendly. The room was dirty and outdated. The bed was a hard slab.
Room was clean, bed was a bit too hard for us but it is in a great location and property appears to be well taken card of. Very busy due to proximity to airport. Shuttle was prompt in pickup and drop off at airport. Day driver during weekdays of shuttle was very friendly and could teach front desk how to treat guests. Saw little hospitality from front desk staff. No welcome to Hampton Inn or thank you upon check out. It takes so little to show you appreciate your guests.

I was picked up at the airport by shuttle late at night and taken to the Hampton where I was promptly checked in with no problems. My room was quiet and restful. I was alone but felt safe and comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was complementary and good. Everything was just what I needed. Nothing.
Affordable price. comfortable and clean room. Nice hot breakfast. Counter in the bathroom had an odd stain in the granite on it clearly wasn't dirty just kind of odd.
The Hampton Inn Baltimore-Washington gave us a free shuttle to the airport and back when we returned. This was very convenient and appreciated. No complaints.
Very noisy from the jet traffic. Heat pump 3' from the bed went on every three minutes and ran for just one. Making a third party reservation deleted the free parking for our trip. Manager forced us to move the car to long term parking off site even after offering to pay extra....unbending. Totally unsatisfactory. I cannot recommend Hampton, they have lost me and my company personnel as a customer.

The staff was very helpful. When I stated that I wanted a refund due to the fact that all they had were smoking rooms, they were very helpful and promptly gave me the money back. Convenient location, right off of 29 and close to shopping and a restaurant. The room was a smoking room, even though we asked for a non-smoking room. When I asked for another room, they were not able to accomodate my request. I actually ended up staying at a different hotel for the evening!
The 1st room assigned was full of cigarette smell, and the room was very dirty looking. Bedspread was filhy. Was assigned to to a 2nd room, which was not much better. The water would not drain from the bathroom basin. I was very discussed that I ended my stay before midnight. It was a non-refundable sale. Will not return.
