Pros: Many times I have been here and I will continue coming. The restaurant has great traditional food. It closes at 20:00 so make sure you have had your dinner on time. The nature is wonderful.
Pros: Monastery hotel with simple but adequate rooms. Situated in the beautiful monastery Sv. Joakim Ostrogovski (you better have a car to get there). Rooms have a view on the magnificent monastery church. Friendly staff. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Good breakfast (no buffet). Very inexpensive.

Pros: The best place to experience genuine Macedonian hospitality. The house is 300 hundred years old and it offers a different experience from boutique hotels.
Pros: It's as good as advertised by other guests. You'll get personal welcome with rakija and wine. They take a time to communicate with you or just leave you alone if you want more privacy. They have done good job with this old house and it gives you great opportunity to take a look for Macedonian family and house life. It's worth to make a detour just for a stay at this house but Kratovo is also worth a visit. If you have a car then you better leave it at parking places near the bridge. I'm used for narrow and steep old streets but it really takes some effort to reach the house with car. It's just a easy walk away from main parking area.
Pros: Hospitality, location, atmosphere in Kratovo.
Cons: All was good.
Pros: A wonderful place to stay in Kratovo, the hosts were outstanding and made my stay very enjoyable. A bonus was enjoying the locally produced food and learning about the history and scenery of Kratovo and the surrounding area
Pros: It was awesome trip back to the past. With very nice and friendly houseowner. The breakfast was also very deliciouse. I got a lot of selfmade wine, racija and selfmade honey. He also showed me his museum. You have to sleep there If you want to stay in kratovo.
Pros: It was my second stay in Shancheva nad definitely not the last.
Pros: If you want a real authentic local experience then you must stay here. It is a very old traditional house with authentic decor set on a small hilltop overlooking the town. The owner Stevce is such a great character and so keen to make you feel welcome and tell you all about his house, town and country. He welcomed me with a rakija and home made jam. Breakfast is delight of home made and local products. I was invited to dinner with Stevce, his son and some friends. We had lovely stew, cucumber salad, home made red wine and rakija. All fresh and home grown ingredients cooked by his wife. A very delicious and special evenimg. After Stevce showed us how to make his own spicy seasoning salt, which you cam buy. Was great fun. Definitely my best accomodation in Macedonia. I highly recommend a stay here as a must do!!.
Pros: More than 300 years old house in the heart of the old Kratovo. Balkans hospitality, a lot of info about the area, delicious home made dishes, rakia and wine. "Slow food" forever! Thank you, Slavche! Poleka, poleka! :-)
Pros: This was not just a stay, but EXPERIENCE! Authentic traditional cottage, welcome drinks and light food, reasonable price, setting in the centre of a historic Macedonian town...all boxes of a comfortable visit had been ticked. But where it completely blew me away is genuine warm-hearted welcome extended by Stevce and his family - I was embraced as a long-missed next of kin. Informative introduction to the town and region, slow home-made food, interesting conversations...one day passed as one minute. Simply amazing Slavic hospitality! I might be back to try that ajvar...big Blagodaram and best of luck!
Cons: Wish I could stay longer
Pros: The town is absolutely beautiful. The host is very very friendly and welcomed us with open arms, feeding us local food (that he cooks himself), giving us rakija and explaining the traditions. We also had a lovely breakfast, also made by him. This accommodation is really amazing.
Cons: Communication is difficult, host doesn't speak English.

Kuklica Village, known for the hundreds of naturally formed stone pillars that resemble humans, can be reached in a 15-minute drive.
Pros: Overall nice hotel, good breakfast on a beautiful location.
Cons: First floor connects with the lobby where a party was going on. So it was quite noisy. Better to request a room on higher levels.
Pros: Great location, onsite parking
Pros: Staff was really nice and fulfilled every request we had. Furniture in the room was nice and quite new, beds were comfortable but the room was a bit small.
Cons: During summer weekends it can be loud at night from bars nearby. We heard music until 1:00 am. Poor soundproofing - we could hear all kinds of noise from outside and from nearby rooms as well. The curtains on one of our windows was too narrow and it did not cover the window completely so the light early in the morning and during the day prevented us and our baby from having a nice sleep. At least this can easily be fixed. For a 4-star hotel we expected a buffet for breakfast but instead we had 3-4 options to choose from and got a plate of fried eggs with a little something on the side. It was tasty but not quite enough. Overall the hotel is overpriced for what it offers.
Pros: Location. Parking. Friendly staff. Nice room
Cons: Breakfast. Noise from outside.
Pros: Everything is perfect.
Pros: Great hotel located in the centre of the old town, great walks at the doorstep. Parking onsite in front of the hotel in enclosed yard, check in super quick. Room was large with bathroom on other side of entrance, same room ensuring privacy and space, amazing views from windows. Comfortable bed and very hot shower. Drinks and dinner were delicious and amazingly cheap, roasted cheese and salad for starters for 2 people $4AUD, breakfast a very tasty omelette. This was a very enjoyable one night stop, for us between Ohrid and Belgrade.
Pros: We really liked the views from double aspect rooms and the excellent location in a remarkable liltle and historic town.
Pros: Perfect location, in the centre, walking distance from bus station. Great terrace for meals, overlooking the meeting of two rivers with views up into the hills - and a cooling breeze along the valley. Staff spoke good English and were really helpful. Choice of breakfasts, a bonus if staying several days.
Cons: As ever in Eastern Europe, too much 1970's dark brown decor. The bedroom was bright but it made the public rooms seem gloomy.
Pros: Good size room, comfortable bed, individual duvets, large bathroom. Free and safe parking. Kind staff at reception.
Cons: Bathroom very cold. Sliding doors of the shower box problematic. No hook for the shower head. Thick curtain which should create darkness in the room at night too narrow, could not cover the window completely. Smell of food in the room in the morning. People (of the staff?) in the hall talked and made noise past midnight. No buffet breakfast, poor and careless service.
Situated in Radibuš, Etno Restoran Ranc features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. There is a restaurant. A continental breakfast is available each morning at the motel.
Pros: Nice atmospheric place, exceptionally delicious meals. A feeling of privacy.
Cons: Dogs barking all night. Earplugs recommended((
Pros: The food and the view and the small dogs:), the mini zoo and the mini lake
Cons: The garden is not maintained, no idea why. It is a good idea, invested money for alleys and lights and then everything is left to be broken.
Pros: Very good place to recharge your batteries away from civilization. Internet is good.
Cons: It's quite remote. Not many things to do around. At least during weekdays, the restaurant opened at 12, so there was no option for breakfast.
Pros: The surrounding, the food, the personal. Everything there was so quiet and peaceful. Definitely would recommend it to anyone who wants to escape the city noise and enjoy in nature.
Pros: Super good, wonderfull place in the mountains, very interest in place Kokino And Stone baby dools
Pros: The resturant staff has been really kindly. All plates was teasty and really big :) . Great price value for all food and drings.
Cons: In the hotel our bed sheets was durty. The breakfast was at 10 o'clock.
Pros: I picked this location for its country location away from any activities, that is what I got. The restaurant was acceptable and I was introduced to a few new wines.
Cons: Behind the toilet was a lot of dried up water stains, from under the bed came out more than a few dust bunnies with the much welcomed wind we had that night, both need some attention. Hot water was missing in the morning. No adjustable showerhead holder. It is old place that has seen better days, however they have tried to increase sound proofing with insulation on the inside walls.
Boasting accommodation with a balcony, Kafana "Kaj Zoki" is situated in Probištip. It features free WiFi, a terrace and a restaurant. The bed and breakfast has a cable flat-screen TV. Guests at the bed and breakfast can enjoy a continental or a à la carte breakfast.
Pros: The host was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean - lately modernized. The beds fairly comfortable.
Cons: The place was very hard to find. Even most of local people didn't know where the place was. Noise through the whole night outside the window coming out of some kind of factory.
Pros: A landlord, a bar (everything on a place), so tasty breakfast, atmosphere of Balcans, what to want more ?! :)

Pros: good rooms, kitchen facilities, very helpful staff, beautiful garden, places for barbecue

Pros: The host was really friendly, it is new and clean. It is quiet in the area.
Cons: The hostel is located a bit far from Kriva Palanka - 10-15km
