The hotel was very clean and well kept. The staff was very kind and helpful. We are definitely going back.
Fifteen years ago, on a first trip to Disney World, stayed at Disney All Star resort, trying to save a few dollars, justifying the cost savings. THAT was my worst vacation experience ever for so many reasons unmentioned here. I promised myself if I ever came back, I would step it up, and stay somewhere worthy. Just returned from Disney World, staying at Disney's Yacht Club. My best vacation ever. Great hotel, clean, comfortable, QUIET, etc, etc, etc, such a fabulous experience. I will stay there again on a future Disney World trip.
The Beach and Yacht club is a great place for young children, wonderful sand pool that is very shallow for children. The Yachtsman steak house, although very pricey, was very good. This is a very large complex, and therefore, your room could be very far from the elevator bank - if you are travelling with older parents/guests, you might want to request a specific room. Our room was very clean, but really just a typical room ( we did upgrade to face the pool(s)). I really liked this hotel and would recommend, however, the Disney Dolphin which I stayed last year, was just as lovely and perhaps better for my family (and at a much lower cost). I travelled with my husband and teen son.
If I am paying this kind of money my room should reflect that. Got there had called a month then two weeks ahead to make sure we had microwave and crib for our 9 month old baby. Wasn't there called down to get, long stroy short at 9:30 that nite after countless calls we got the crib. The room OMG outlet cover missing brought covers for the plugs but she could still get her fingures in the outlet. Door to the closet fell off. Sink backed up with dirty water because of the room beside me. Room had a mesty smell. We finally got microwave. All thing were fixed but, at their time, we had to leave the room at the worst time or wait the next day to get fixed. I have always said you get what you pay for but, this was not the case.
Our stay was tremendous at the Disney Yacht Club. The pool was a real highlight to our stay there...It was so conveniently located to all the parks and the extra Disney hours made our access to the parks more desireable. The Yacht Club was on a 5 minute stroll to the back gate of Epcot where we watched the nightly fireworks show. The room was very nice and the service at the hotel made our stay there even nicer. Getting around was easy since they took us everywhere we wanted to go. Shuttle service to and from the airport was also provided so no rental car or taxis were ever needed. Not only would I recommend this hotel to others but I would really like to return there myself. My wife, 7 year old daughter and I truly enjoyed this so much that anything else just could not compare. What a wonderful memory we have!
My stay at the Yacht was average, I had booked a room with a king size bed for six nights and they gave me a room with two double. I called down and asked them if they could move me but they had nothing available. So my wife and I had to share a small bed together. The hotel was clean and staff was very friendly. I would recomned to go outside of the hotel for food, the resteraunts were average but if you head outside you can find much better places to eat.
This was perfect for our family of four. Our kids were ages 2 and 6 at the time of our trip. The sand-bottom, shallow pool was perfect! We all loved it. It was also in close proximity to Epcot- we could walk or take a short ferry. We could see the fireworks from our balcony. The on-site ice cream parlor was delicious and we felt the pool side burger place was great for a quick meal.
The Yach Club was just wonderful. We were greeted with a personal parking pass as soon as we got to the gate. The people were very very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable with a nice veranda and views of the Boardwalk. Highly recommended. The pool was just amazing. Three acres of swimming and relaxing.
The staff at this resort are very attentive, and my husband was impressed by the fact that we were personally greeted by name upon arrival (someone was waiting specifically for us), then escorted us to registration for check-in. The concierge politely refused a tip after making reservations for us, stating that this was simply his job. This is a quieter hotel than it's sister Beach Club, which caters more to young families. Walking distance to Epcot, and if you're so inclined, to Hollywood Studios also, or there is boat service available to both. My only complaint is that there are no vending machines on the individual floors, only ice machines - you have to think ahead and make purchases in the gift shop earlier in the day. Internet access is $9.95/24hrs. - should be free.
My family and I just returned from a six night stay at the Yacht Club. What a beautiful resort situated right on a lake. We stayed at Animal Kingdom 3 years ago and while it was nice, it didn't hold a candle to the Yacht Club. We walked to Epcot in less than 10 minutes! We had every type of dining available to us either at the Yacht Club, Beach Club or a 10 minute walk to the Boardwalk Resort. The pools were wonderful and my girls loved the sandy bottom. We even sat out under the stars watching a movie at night on the beach. If you want to be in the heart of Disney this is the resort for you!
The water slide and pool are the best! The walk to MGM and Epcot are so close. The boats and buses come very frequently. Every staff member is so nice and generous. We got pins and a rose for checking in! The lobby is huge! You can walk to the Boardwalk at any time. The only problem is you can get lost very easily. I was exploring the place and couldn't find my room. The rooms were huge and the beds were comfortable. I would definitly stay there again.
We are having a hard time getting back to reality after our stay at the Yach and Beach club. Our grandaughter keeps ask when we are going back to our hotel. It is so handy to MGM. and Epcot. The boardwalk is very enjoyable at night when you are tired of the big crowds. The staff was great and so were the rooms. The ground and hotel layout were confusing to my Dad, but he is 81.
Arrived 11:30 at night. Room not made up. Moved to smoking room, nothing else available. Luggage arrived at 8:00 am. Calling to track luggage throughout early morning resulted in staff resonding with ''have a magical day''...got very frustration.
Arrived at 11:30 pm 1 1/2 hours after landing. Sent to a room on 3rd floor that was not made up from previous guests. Moved to a smokers room thet stank. Luggage did not catch up until8 next morning. As we call each hour to check on luggage, staff ends phone call with ''Have a magical Day''. Didn't need that!
