it was well run and friendly,we were made very welcome,a very clean well run hotel
The Shelleven Guest House is located within walking distance of the marina and shopping centre. The guest house is clean and well maintained. The room was bright and airy and comfortable. Breakfast was great - a good way to start the day! The staff were warm and friendly. I would stay there again.
Clean and tidy room and public areas plus welcoming proprietors. Also within easy walking distance of amenities in bangor.
The people were friendly and helpful and the hotel was comfortable. The breakfasts were enormous and delicious.
Friendly staff .hotel was very clean
For the two days that we were stayed at Shelleven Guest House, Everything was perfect. We could not highlight any points that were particularly better than any other. Wonderful couple and excellent food There were none.
Friendliness, ease of use, general high standard Lack of radiator/heating in the bathroom(!)
The Westons are charming, professionals who run an excellent business -nothing is a bother to them. The Guest House is close by all facilities in Bangor . We would highly recommend it.
a warm welcome, helpful with any enquiries, upgraded to bigger room, breakfast very good, very relaxing environment.
A friendly place, well located for the town. Staff/owners willing to go the extra distance to ensure your comfort & convenience The shower was a bit lacklustre. Room was basic but adequate to my needs.
The enormous, comfortable bed and beautiful antique furniture, amazing views and gardens at rear with easy access to town. Great breakfast to start your day.
Warm, friendly and obliging owner and staff. Outstanding breakfasts with local produce. Beautiful setting overlooking Ballyholme Bay.
Very friendly and helpful, food was very good, lovely view and they have a nice dog. Bathroom was a little small, would have liked a shaving light above the sink.
Excellent breadfast, view, apmostphere. Exotic decoration all around. None.
Very warm welcome Good choice of breakfasts Good welcome tray Thick towels
enjoyed the stay - nice room and nice extras the only thing that i was disappointed in was the fact that breakfast was only served up until 930am - for a sunday morning i felt that was a bit strange
Warm friendly setting with a touch of luxury. Very attentive yet relaxed staff.
Food and service excellent. Room comfortable and spotless. Owner and staff very welcoming. Would recommend to others. Heat was not on in room when we returned at night.
A beautiful Art Nouveau house very tastefully furnished and in a superb location. Great attention to details and fantastic breakfast
Good location for overnight stop. Popular restuarant with good service Room upstairs had a noisy ventilation fan which kept being left on by another guest for long periods. Another room was offered but was a poorer standard. So we put up with the fan. No ventilation as our bathroom fan did not work and the window was locked for security and to reduce noise from the main road.
Bar and quality of the room The fact that a couple argued all night and kept me awake I had to tell them wasnt hotels fault but could of maybe stopped earlier
The atmosphere was warm and friendly upon arrival. The restuarant was busy and the lunch menu was of excellent quality, good value for money. THe location of the hotel was ideal for day trip to Belfast. Not really suitable for a romantic weekend. It had very few quiet areas, and the in our room we could hear the other quests. The rooms were small and the air conditioning was poor. We had a early wake up call from a fire alarm because someone burnt some toast. Yet all the staff disappeared. Hotel guests in a panic, not even an apology. The room served "breakfast" was poorly prepared, Did'nt stay the second night.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, Rooms were spacious and very clean........ Food was excellent and breakfast very nice aswell nothing to dislike, had a very pleasent stay
The hotel was very homely and comfortable. We had 2 kids with us and we only stayed one night which was enough, nothing for kids to do there. food in restaurant very tasty. Handy, clean stop over hotel.
Staff very nice and helpful and hotel very clean and tidy
nice hotel, comforta ble. Is actually more attractive than web site. There was a faulty generator which was firing all through the night which was near my room and kept me up till 2 pm. Not good.
It was all good.
All staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful. The room and bed was spacious and very comfortable - although we did not make use of the 2nd bed in the room, it would be very valuable for family use. I was a little surprised when the restaurant waiter (on Mon 31st Aug) advised us that we should go through to the bar/caffeteria rather than eat in the Restaurant. However, the meal and surroundings in the caffeteria were very good.
The staff were helpful and friendly, also the food was excellent and very good value for money.
Great service by reception staff, great irish breakfast with very friendly service, great value for money. The doors on the first floor are loud when not shut gently so late and night noises from other people coming home.
the atmosphere of the hotel, not a standard all the same chain hotel but a character building in the centre of an old town. We were lucky as being mid week and out of season there were only a few at the hotel, but car parking space is very limited. The next but one question I cannot answer as I have seen no guest reviews.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Economical booking. Good breakfast (included). Excellent restaurant on-site. WiFi did not work very well outside of lobby. Carpet seemed worn; floors uneven; room small; bath a little ruddy
Location and value for money
Central, British town, 'old building' style hotel. Has bustling non resident clientele but not noisy. Maybe some people would not like the fact that it was not the new pristine type of hotel that abounds e.g. there was a tiny uneven-ness in the floor which I found charming! (it is a very old building)
food value for money Rather seventies. Blue curtains oppressive and not practical in the bathroom. Bath rather high. Bathroom needs a makeover.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Friendly and old style hotel/pub. Not a chain. Don't expect a Kirby trouser press or minibar. Expect a friendly welcome and somewhere to remember. Breakfast was OK, but could do with less heart attack material!!
Waking up in the morning and knowing I was going to be leaving soon afterwards. The bed was old and bouncy, there was no remote for the TV and there was no alarm facility.
Close to motorway Bedroom dull and beds hard with silly little sheets heating turn off at night so rooms where cold the food was over priced and gave two of my people bad guts on the last day very poor
T V was not very good
Parking good, welcome tray, furnishings OK, Beds comfortable. TV, Bathroom all OK. Room was spacious. Would recommend for Our room was not cleaned after the first night and we had to ask for fresh supplies, towels etc after a day out. The walls are quite thin - allowing sounds from the next room / bathroom to be heard clearly.
The hotel was clean and reasonably priced, but very basic and old fashioned, not in a quirky way, but in a way that suggests it just hasn't been updated in a long time.
1st night, bad smell in foya and corrider. Room too warm unable to turn of radiatir hotel not well enough sign posted at roundabout
Room value for money and felt very much at home on our stay. Also like the idea of entertainment on so we feel if we have to meet up with friends and having few drinks dont haveto worry about driving home:) Might be worth thinking of bringing on special deal where you can have a meal,Dance , B&B ? There is lots of middle aged people like ourselves who like to eat out have few drinks and like to bookin for the night.Yous have it all there ! I felt we were little rushed to check out the following morning ? I think simple reminder when checking in as to what checking out time would do ? Would loved the option of double bed and single bed in the room like most Hotels have now. Felt like i was gong to fall out of the bed it was so small ?
Ideal location for access to local industrial areas. Good off road parking area.Value for money.
Good basic accomodation and service matching the price paid! Have stayed in hotel in the past and it gives good value for the price range, the rooms are a bit old fashioned but clean and tidy ! All facilities work and staff are pleasant !
Very nice place, very enjoyable stay
Room 3 is situated beside the front door and lounge area. Could not sleep until midnight once other guests have left the lounge area
high standard of fodd /accomm
Awesome views from some rooms - great food also. Beautiful setting. There are a lot of stairs in the house - not for the infirm...
The room was one of the best we have ever stayed in. The owners were very friendly and extremely helpful with any questions about the area or where to eat. The beakfast was exquisite. A gourmet delight.
Where do I start? Great selection of beverages in room. Huge and comfortable bed. Beautiful, homely and cosy house. Staff very firendly and helpful. Amazing breakfast.
Very comfortable rooms at a reasonable price. Staff always very helpful and polite
Everything None at all
Beautiful, luxurious rooms. Great views over Belfast loch. Gourmet food and excellent service. Quiet location
Absolutely everything! Could not fault.
Staff was excellent and always ready to help. Breakfasts were delicious. Room was spacious and comfortable. We stayed six nights and enjoyed our stay very much. Our bathroom had shower attachment in the bathtub and should have a grab bar. It was difficult to get out of the tub/shower without help or something to grab.
Food, Staff. The room quality was very very poor. I am surprised the management of the Hilton TemplePatrick deemed the room I had suitable to let. Every wall in the room was marked, the plaster was water damaged in places, and plaster was missing on corners. Furniture was of a low standard and also worn or damaged. The light fittings has paint splashes on them, probably the result of cheap and unskilled tradesmen. Carpet was uncleaned in places. This hotel has seen better days, probably in the 1980's judging by the computer equipment provided at the executive desk (and the phone was at the other end of the room which was an interesting business setup). The hotel facilities, in fairness, are good. Food was of a reasonable standard. All staff I encountered were genuinely friendly (but perhaps a little untrained in internation standards of customer service, i.e. the customer doesn't want to hear your problems when making a request). I'm not aware of the star rating of this Hotel but it would be no more than a three star on a good day. A very good day. I couldn't believe this was a Hilton Brand Hotel. Shame on them.
The beautiful rooms, and friendly staff We had noisy children in the room beside us.
No moisturiser in bathroom.
the size & comfort of the room
Breakfast Location Room
Services, golf, swimming pool and everything. Nice location We had to call reception for the daily clean. They told us to be in within in 1 hour but cleaner came after 10 minutes, while we were starting some romance. 3 restaurants were there and in the brochure. When we went to the brasserie at night, it was suddenly close without any notice.
Easy access. Excellent service. Cleanliness & great food.
location was convenient for our needs. Good reaction to booking not having been received.
I liked the peace and quiet and the general get away from ir all mood it left me in The hotel is drastically overpriced. Theres nothing in the hilton that you woukdnt get anywhere else. For alot cheaper
The room was fantastic. Reception staff very pleasant. Breakfast was badly organised. Staff in bar and breakfast room appeared to be disinterested.
It was peaceful and tranquil and the perfect get away for the night.
Very good location, While booking it does not give option of stating number and age of children. And while checking in we were told that we did not inform the hotel that children will be accompanying us. I booked 2 rooms and my friend had to pay extra £40 for the room. Your booking confirmation said children under 12 are free to stay.
i always enjoy the warm welcome from staff and lovelt food in restaurant
The walls must be very thin as sound travelled and sleep was difficult
The location for business The outside and reception area was were too dark and the colour scheme not very comforting. A relative who lives in the area also thought this and therefore did not make a good impression
the room was excellent as was the food easy and friendly
Food in the hotel was brilliant, look forward to staying there again.
Location was wonderful Food was not to a standard I would exspect.
We had a wonderful view from our bedroom window and the bed was a great big super kingsize which was very comfortable. I was disappointed that the jacuzi and steamroom were not working in the leisure centre
getting a free upgrade
Everything...plus..pretty unique facility
The old world charm of the Hotel - Each bedroom is laid out in a different style - the well designed and arranged grounds to the rear of the Hotel
Pleasant staff and nice hotel No automatic cleaning of room
staff were very pleasant, location was excellent, bar is very cosy and open fire outside is perfect some of the bedroom heating pipes where a bit noisy ( honeysuckle ), we had asked for a room with a four poster and were kindly moved to Fern which was perfect
Service fantastic, staff helpful and friendly, atmosphere great. Room was beautifully appointed with all amenities you could wish for. Breakfast was wonderful. We asked for wake up call and early breakfast and this was carried out exactly as requested. And the history of the place was fantastic - has been an inn since 1614. Would love to return again some day. Some small maintenance needed in our bathroom, but as major development was underway during our stay, imagine this will be done in due course.
The public rooms and bedroom are beautifully decorated and maintained to a high standard. Both dinner and breakfast are excellent and the staff friendly and attentive.
Staff very helpful and friendly. Arranged free upgrade as the description on your website was not accurate. You quoted queen size beds but only suites had queen size and larger beds. No
Ample parking, fire in reception area Speaker outside bedroom window playing repetitive music (sounded like the music was piped into the room) every day & evening. Could not relax to read. Asked reception to turn it down but request was ignored.
being upgraded was avery pleasant suprise no
i do believe seeing the owner of the hotel, in an over seeing pleasing way we had a very comfortable stay in your hotel,
The gorgeous view from our harbor facing bay window! No, but the front patio areas on either side of the front steps could have been lovely with seating and plants but were instead bare and empty.
Exceeded our expectations for value, cleanliness, and location. The furnishings were indeed tasteful and the room clean and comfortable. The staff accommodated our late check in as the front desk closes at 10pm so if you're not there by then, you are out of luck--that's not noted anywhere. It should be more prominently featured so guests know to be there before that time.
Good riendly service at a fair price. I was awoken in the middle of the night by some other rowdy guests that were not challenged by any other guests or staff. Not so good when you have to get up in a few hours and only have a limited amount of sleep anyway.
In a great location, the staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation itself was very clean and comfortable.
Clean, comfortable, good rates, good parking facilities and good food.Staff friendly and very helpful. A good experience which we will repeat in the future
Good staff service, tv in room, good food. Quiet at night. Good parking facilities. Room 2 warm due 2 hot weather, altho small fan was provided it was not effective in cooling room. Air-con required as safety windows restrict amount of air in2 room. Lack of information as to what times breakfast is served.Hotel being painted during our stay, so strong smell of paint all weekend.
clean, functional room. helpful staff no problems
Very well located. Great staff, very good value for money. Good bar and restaurant (breakfast) in 20 m. Price for breakfast ok. Free private parking. We recommend it. Only chargable internet access. No walk in shower. Dinner was only standard.
we enjoyed the reception we recived and the friendliness of all the staff .the morning breakfast package was excellent with more than enough to eat .a most enjoyable stay right on the coast.
Easy to find, good rate, comfortable room no issues
the location, comfort and friendliness of the staff
Very friendly manageress, sea view Room had basic decor. / furnishings, in need of minor repairs and modernisation.
Excellent breakfasts - very tasty!
We had the family room very spacious and clean
the staff went out of their way to be helpful. Breakfasts were excellent. The location was very central for Bangor.
As is the norm in all of Ireland, I found everybody to be very friendly, polite and helpful. It all added up to a very pleasant stay. I didn't like the fact that I only had three nights there. Longer would have been good.
It was a nice relaxed atmosphere, everyone was very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were lovely The only thing was that the hot water wasn't very hot some nights. One night it was just tepid.
Owner and staff very friendly and obliging. Good room and excellent ensuite Nothing
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good. We liked the staff. The room was cold. We forgot to bring a hot water bottle. the room had three windows and was cold.
Hospitality, proximity to marina & town, and of course the breakfast. The single attic room I stayed in had very noisy pipework (water) running through the room.
Very friendly, family run Guest House. The rooms have been upgraded and modernised since our last visit 2 years ago.Irish breakfast was great There was no alarm clock in the bedroom, but we forgot to check if the TV had this facility.
Nice big comfy beds!!
friendly and helpful staff in a laid back relaxing atmosphere
You are made feel very special
Good location, very friendly staff, excellent breakfast, comfortable rooms. No not really
The staff were very friendly and helpful
Loved the massive kingsize bed in the (standard) room! Great selection of fruit, toast and cereal, or cooked food for breakfast. Staff so so friendly & helpful!
It was nice and relaxed and the staff are always friendly to their guests, and the room was both spacious and very clean and well presented. Nothing
the location was great and the executive suite was very comfortable and worth the extra cash probably the nicest hotel room i have stayed in.
lovely comfortable room, nice gardens, good breakfast expensive, a bit too far from town
Very cpmfortable, set in lovely parkland
