The staff was new and they were moderately friendly when I went to the front desk. The alarm goes off right away when you walk through the door and continues to go off for at least 30 seconds while you're in the front office - odd. The couple at the front were eating pizza in their pajamas when I walked in. I smiled and said I was sorry for interrupting their dinner and was kind. Zero response. They were very difficult to understand which isn't so bad, but it does create a barrier when trying to communicate what our room number was and what time checkout is. I asked when checkout was and the man responded 11, 12. I thought, which one? So he pointed to a sign on the wall so I knew that it was at noon. I had paid for the hotel through Priceline about 2 weeks before our stay and they couldn't find my reservation. Although it had already gone through my account a few days prior, so I know it went through. I let them know this and gave them my confirmation number and all the information. I always save it in case it's needed! Then they took my card, which I assumed was for incidentals. No, they charged me and printed something out. I asked for a receipt for my stay and the lady simply said, "no." I said that I would require a receipt and she said she would give me one in the morning after checkout. Okay, perfect. Then the guy walked me all the way across the lot to my room - a little strange, but really nice. Then he opened my door and walked through the room and showed me where the bathroom was. I was honestly creeped out. I thought it was such a strange thing to do, but I know he was trying to be nice. The room reeeeeeked of smoke. One of the first things on the website shows that it's a completely non-smoking hotel. We had not one, not two, but three ashtrays in our room! I was annoyed but thought, whatever, it's one night. He leaves and I check the room out - my 6 year old makes beds better, a crunchy hand towel was left over the shower curtain and an empty soap wrapper in the bottom of the tub. We also had one half used roll of toilet paper with no replacements. The inside lock on our door was also broken. Then my husband checked our account to make sure they hadn't charged us again - they did. They took my card to charge me just as I thought, but they were so difficult to understand that I wasn't sure what they were doing. So I march back to the front office to listen to alarms again and let them know that they charged me - which they know. So they called their boss and handed me the phone - no words. He just shoved his cell phone at me. So I spoke to the manager and he said that they already charged me so I should now call Priceline for a refund. Now I'm a kind person and I have honestly never written a bad review for any place ever - but this time - no. I'm fuming mad. No, I am not calling Priceline to pay their cancellation fees and deal with waiting and blah blah. In the end, they did take the charge off. Frustrating stay, but glad they did not double charge me in the end. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
